Highly disappointing experience, even with a coupon to draw you in. So we got this delicious looking coupon in the mail, I swear y'all... the damn coupon looked delicious. I'm like okay guys let's try something new. We arrived and the place had a few patrons before us but not overcrowded, it definitely didn't pique any concerns. We get to the counter and figure out our order, I had a steak burrito, husband had the chicken enchiladas, and the little one had two chicken tacos. Not sure what happened this time while I was here but the portions for meat were extremely small. Both my friends and I got maybe half of what was shown on the menu. Usually Costa has decent portions and is consistent with the meat portions. I ordered a kids meal taco and got not one pinch but half a pinch of barbacoa and my friend who ordered the chicken quesadillas got one pinch. Most of the taco was padded with cheese and his quesadillas only had a bit of height because of the cheese and was otherwise flat. Upon opening the cinnamon tortilla as well, there is a dump of sugar. Your kid will be rabid for at least an hour after eating it. If you want a good deal and delicious food Chipotle, Cava, and Torchys are just across the street. I would never recommend this location to anyone else. read more

The meat inside of the enchiladas were really well seasoned ( I wouldn't get the sweet pork if you don't like really sweet meat) and flavorful. The food here is wonderful and very fresh! They make the tortillas right in front of you, and their chips are always seasoned to perfection, along with their guacamole! They have one of the best quesos, in my opinion (torchy's and costa are my top picks). I have been to this location twice, and have been let down by the service both times. Each time I have visited, the restaurant has not been crowded at all, but the line takes FOREVER. The employees are very scattered and there seems to be a good amount of miscommunication among them. COSTA VIDA TELLS VETERAN NO!!! NOT TODAY & I NO TO REFUND!!!! Upon looking at the receipt I seen that the military discount was not applied to ticket. I communicated to the shift lead that he forgot to add my military discount. I asked if he could add my military discount to my order and the Costa Vida's shift lead said no. He mentioned that I could use it next time. NO, I want to use it today! The shift lead mentioned there's nothing he can do. Well, since Costa Vida didn't have a solution to the problem I presented one to the worker. How bout you refund me on this ticket, then you ring me up again with same order and apply the military discount on new ticket. He stated no that he couldn't do that. We went back and forth 3 different times with him telling me it couldn't be done. At this point I just really was in disbelief with this service from Costa Vida. I demanded a refund and I no longer want the food!! He tried to continue to force the food on me before realizing that I was not giving up on that refund request. Somewhere in between he tried to offer me a coupon (Buy 1 entree w/ 2 drinks and you get 1 entree for free). I declined that right away. So it doesn't make since to me being offered a coupon and having to spend more money to get a stated discount on that coupon. So far I've been here twice. Like the other reviewers, I'm not a huge fan of "sweet" Mexican food, but that IS part of what sets it apart from its competition. It is a "coastal" variation of Mexican food, kind of like "Tex-Mex" is a variation. The tortillas are made fresh, which is always nice. You pick your meat, your entree and then customize it with whatever sauces, sides and toppings you want to add. I do like being able to get shredded beef, because ground beef in Mexican food is a "Tex-Mex" thing I've never adjusted to. Both visits here I got enchiladas. Last night I tried the Chile Verde and Shredded Beef. The Chile Verde was good, but the sauce I chose was one of the "sweet" sauces, and that made it not as good, to me. The Shredded Beef with Enchilada sauce was really good, though. Rice and beans with pico topped it off, and all was up to par. Overall, I give it an extra star for the fresh tortillas and concept. My son gave his quesadilla 3 1/2 stars. My enchiladas were about the same. read more

The food was ok. I asked if they had any rice without cilantro (gross). They said they did not, so I asked for a tortilla on the side of my bowl instead. I had to repeat my tortilla request to the cashier because my order for one was ignored. They charged me extra for the tortilla. I cannot get enough of this place! It's a change of pace from authentic Mexican and Tex Mex cuisine. Be warned that the sauces here can be sweet. Their Queso is sweet. It's their niche. It's difficult to resist the sweet pork every time I come here. I do love how many options you have to customize your entrees. They also have great agua de Horchata. The staff has always been helpful answering any questions I might have specially when it comes to new recommendations. Their chips today were a little too salty. I need to add that their place is always super clean!! I downloaded their app today. You can scan your receipts and accumulate points you are able to redeem in future visits. This place is kinda like Chipotle or Freebirds in design just less efficient and more ambiguous about what's going on. You pick a burrito/tacos/enchiladas/quesadilla and your meat. I got the shredded beef enchiladas. One with queso type of a sauce and one with their medium. They made them up with flour tortillas automatically. After a trip through the cheese melter, rice and beans are added to the dish. I'm not sure if it was the beef or the sauces but the food was sickeningly sweet. Maybe they accidentally got sugar and salt mixed up in the back. The girl in front of me got shrimp quesadillas and her partner and I had paid for our respective meals and I'd eaten most of my food by the time she got hers delivered because the shrimp is "cooked" (in the cheese melter conveyor) to order. Not sure how she chose accompanying sides if there are any. Who knows, it's all unclear. read more

The food wasn't horrible and it wasn't great Update: Originally I gave them 3 stars because the food is just okay. HOWEVER, we've used them to cater work parties twice and they made the entire process a breeze! Just tell them how many people you're trying to feed, it usually adds up to about $9 per person and that's it! We've always gotten a TON of food when we've asked them to cater and there's always food left over. This place will always be a staple for work parties and other smaller gatherings. I don't put shredded cheese on mine so I don't ask for it to be heated. Every time I come to this location they always have amazing chicken that's not dry and everything tastes so fresh. The only thing I'll throw in that's negative would be the cleanliness of the bathroom and tables but I get it.. it can get busy and sometimes you don't have time to wipe it down right then and there. read more

I have also ordered the sweet pork tacos. I wanted Wheat tortilla so they made them fresh. One thing I like about this place over others is they press and cook their tortilla in house. I'm always impressed when I go here. When the manager is behind the counter he makes sure to let me try something new and I loved the Raspberry Chicken he let me try last time. Reasons why I love this place over the competition is the price is better for one, number two the food I get is actually hot, and number three the food is actually real. You can also taste the authenticity in the flavors in the food. I prefer this place over Chipotle because I can drop in sometimes for Chips and Salsa without having to break the bank. Last time I ran in I got Chips and Salsa and another Chips with Queso. The family loved the cheese it was packed with flavor. The salsa is my favorite and I love to snack on the chips and salsa while I'm cooking at home for some reason. The food here always puts me in a great mood and the atmosphere is great as well. It seems to rub off on the other customers too because the customers here are so polite as well. They open the door for my wife and I have never had an issue at this location since they opened. I've been here twice already. The best part of this location is the employees and their friendly customer service. The first time I came I got the chicken burrito smothered in queso sauce. It's very filling and most likely will have leftovers. The second time I tried the chicken quesadilla which is also really good and a huge size, that comes with a side of rice and beans. I think their food is good especially for the price. Also, I do believe they make their own fresh flour tortillas for the quesadillas and burritos, not sure if these are the same they use for the enchiladas as well but they're yummy.
