Costa vidas food is good, but DO NOT order through door dash, Uber Eats, etc at the city creek location. I don't know how/why they continue to mess up my orders... for example, today I ordered a regular salad and side of pork. I got a small salad and no pork. This is my first not very happy review. I feel bad because I thought the food was great but the service was not. I asked for a bowl and I wanted chicken and I got maybe 5 small pieces. Barely any toppings on top. I always take a picture of my food and this was first time I did not want to because it was so skimpy. I ordered the tortillas on the side and the menu said 2 and I only got one. I went back to the front and told the lady I was suppose to get two and she kept telling me no it's only one when the menu clearly says 2. Thank you Yelp for helping me find this hidden eatery. It is close to the State Capitol Building which we were visiting. We just walked down hill from there and. I would never have found City Center without help from Yelp. My son got two tacos-barbacoa and sweet pork. He ordered the barbacoa. It came with beans (he chose black beans) and rice on the side. My husband ordeeed barbacoa enchiladas with pinto beans and rice on the side. My daughter ordered the chicken burrito with black beans and rice inside. I ordered three plain large tortillas-the friendly employee joked that they were $10, but they were actually only 50 cents each, a bargain for fresh made tortillas! So affordable and healthy food for the whole family. I highly recommend! read more

I've yet to have a bad experience at this location, and I go relatively often since it's a three minute walk from work. I almost always get a small chicken salad, with many variations. Sometimes no tortilla, beans, or rice. Sometimes a tortilla and no rice. You get the idea. It depends on what I want to fit into my macros that day. The service is fast and accurate every time. The tables are clean every time. I collect my points every time so that my food will eventually be free one time. Fast, healthy, and fresh. That's what I'm about. This place is fine and it is a nice addition to City Creek. I actually prefer Red Iguana express at the food court since it is a little more authentic than what you get at Costa Vida. I know many people love this place, but to me, for the price, there are better options downtown. The restaurant has plenty of seating, which is nice for City Creek. Sometimes when conferences or conventions are in town, the food court can get crammed. The service is a little disorganized. The people behind the glass aren't very well coordinated and in my two experiences coming here, they get mixed on up who ordered what. There is a good number of workers that are running around so I am sure that is adding to the confusion. I'm sure that will get ironed out with time. read more

Excellent fast mexican food on par or above Chipotle. I hadn't ever heard of this place before but found it wandering one day outside of the convention center. The tacos were great and the homemade guac and chips were a treat as well. The service is friendly and fast and they really keep things moving with a heavy crowd. We went here last night and it was sooo busy (the entire mall was packed). The staff was so pleasant and professional even though they had a line out the door. The cashier (think her name was Camryn) was especially calm and helpful. The food was really good- as always. Instead of trying to reconcile the mess up they make you cancel the order an hour later so you can't get your food unless you order again and spend $20 for a $10 order. Food is great. Gets super busy from 11:30-1:00 on weekdays, and the line is daunting. The employees work hard though (one time I saw them work straight through a fire alarm). Overall, a good, consistent experience. Was once approached by a panhandler inside the restaurant, which was weird. This was over a year ago however and it hasn't happened since. Like any Costa Vida this location gets really busy during lunch hour. I frequent this location a lot as it is a shortly walk from my office. The food is great and taste as any Costa Vida should. I mainly get the Small Beef Salad. If you are arriving during lunch be prepared to wait in line. They do have the option to order ahead online, however, they often mess up online orders. I sometimes get chicken in my salad instead of beef or like to day I got chicken instead of beef with only rice and no black beans. So although the ordering online saves you from having to stand in line be prepared that your online order may not be correct. read more
