Dr Kim Nguyen is a miracle, as is her staff. I now drive three hours from Bakersfield back here for her. She has a way of fixing things without pain and without too much pain killers. So I leave pain free and my mouth isn't numb all day. I can eat within an hour. And she never tries to do things I don't need just to sell me more treatments like some dentists do. I won't scare you with my horror stories from my past dentists, but I can tell you that I would have preferred to pull all my teeth out before setting foot in another dentist office again. If it wasn't for Yelp, I wouldn't have found Cottage Dental/Kid's Corner Dental and I probably would've had dentures by the time I turned 40. That's how badly I hated the dentist. I ended up caving in when I had some bad coffee stains on my front teeth and it got to the point where I wasn't smiling anymore. I just knew I was going to go in and they were going to tell me I needed a deep cleaning, root canals, bridges, bleaching, and probably braces (because everyone knows how much a normal dentist tries to upsell you on everything). I was dreading it. So I turned to Yelp and found Cottage Dental. Cottage Dental is located on Chapman Anenue in Fullerton, but I needed to make a Saturday appointment so they scheduled me at their Kid's Corner office, which is on Bastanchury and Brea in Fullerton. From the minute I walked in, I knew it was going to be a good experience. Stephanie, who works the front desk, was friendly and listened to my horror stories and suffered through my anxiety-riddled rant about dentists. She quickly put me at ease and didn't make me feel like I was a horrible person because I hadn't gone to the dentist in 6 years. The staff is so amazingly friendly, you just feel instantly at ease as soon as you get in the chair. I was still nervous about what I would need and I couldn't believe it when they told me a regular cleaning would get rid of the stains, a deep cleaning was not needed, as long as I came back after 4 months instead of 6, and I only had two cavities. Not only did they not upsell me, they worked with me on a payment plan that most dentists would never dream of doing. It's not Care Credit either, although thet do offer that. It's their own payment plan and it's honeslty really affordable. They don't make you feel like you have to do all the work in one sitting either. They schedule you months in advance and allow you to financially plan for the work you need. I could go on and on and on, but I will say that my kids actually LOOK FORWARD to going to the dentist now, I have been vigilant about going every six months for the past 3 years, and I have referred at least 5 different people to them. Diane who does my teeth cleaning is very gentle and meticulous with her work, she is amazing! Quick but thorough. So I just moved back up to Fullerton and the always fun task of finding a decent dentist is back. So I try cottage dental. It always amazes me how these places treat you like an idiot. They poor on the overly nice routine and at the end they drop the bomb on you and tell you that you need 1000 dollars of unnecessary work. I knew something was up so I didn't go back. This was 4 months ago. So I try a new place last week. ITS A MIRACLE!!!!! The 4 cavities and the deep cleaning that I needed cured themselves and disappeared. I said nothing about the work cottage dental said that I needed. So it wasn't like the new guy was trying to win my business by telling me I needed no work. His X-rays, examination , as well as his hygienists examination revealed no problems. Explain that! Go somewhere else people. read more

I have never had a bad experience at Cottage Dental. Every time I come in I am greeted by name and asked how I am doing. The staff is wonderful and I have never met a more friendly group of individuals in one place - especially at a dentist's office! :) I just finished my invisalign treatment with them and I can not begin to tell you how pleased I am with my results. My teeth are perfect and beautiful and I am more confident with my smile than ever before. The aligners were easy to use and Dr. Nguyen guided me through the whole process. I had them for about a year and the time went by so quickly. If you are thinking about invisalign I would highly recommend them. If you are looking for a dentist, Cottage Dental is the place to go hands down. It doesn't get any better than this. It's been a while since I've been to the dentist because I was traumatized as a child and now it's one of my biggest fears. I called Cottage Dental and explained my anxiety to Marianna and she scheduled me for an exam and x rays to start just to see how I would do. RDA Karla and Dr. Nguyen were gentle, explained everything to me, and made a few recommendations for treatment. Today I had a deep cleaning/gum therapy and 3 fillings with the help of Valium and laughing gas. They were gentle and explained everything they were doing as they did it. 8 hours later I am in no plan and my smile looks great. Okay so I went here yesterday for the first time. My brother recommended them to me and I'm so glad he did. THAT OFFICE IS SO AWESOME!!! Soon as you walk in you see a set up of tea, water, and a snack. The front desk women were so polite and so patient with me when I was filling out my paperwork. I got to the dentist chair and Carla was like "Here's the remote to the massage chair and would you like to watch a movie while you get your teeth cleaned?" MY MIND BLEW UP! I've never been to a dental office like that. All the ladies were great and my dentist was so gentle and communicated with me the whole time. Please give them a try! Tiffany, Karla and Dr. Kim have always made my trips to the dentist a comfortable and fun experience. For one, Tiffany (front desk) is always welcoming and extremely helpful when scheduling (and sometimes rescheduling) for each appointment. She let's you know that they are flexible to work with whatever scheduling needs you have and is always extremely nice and sweet about it. Once I get passed the front desk and into the back of the dental office, Karla will always welcome you with a big smile so that I don't have to feel uncomfortable. She is also always great about explaining exactly what will happen or what is to be expected, thank you. Lastly, Dr. Kim is super gentle with her work on the customers and will always make sure you're comfortable and in a good spot before doing anything. Let me start off by saying that my anxiety about going the dentist was through the roof, mostly because the last time I went to a dentist was 2 years prior and was told I needed 3 root canals (which I did not elect to get because of finances). After having my baby, I decided to bite the bullet and I forced myself to go in. My sister recommended Cottage Dental to me after her positive experience so I decided to try them out. Long story short this was by far the BEST dental experience I have ever had in my adult life. They are highly professional, very kind, organized, clean, and TRUSTWORTHY! I had digital photos taken of my teeth so that I could actually see my teeth, and was given proper explanation and rationalization about all the procedures I needed. Turns out I never needed those root canals, this doctor instead opted to try an alternative by replacing fillings, cleaning, and medicating the effected teeth. I also received an amazing cleaning by the hygienist and great education about how to maintain teeth and gum care. Normally when I go in to the dentist I feel very judged as if I have failed a test or something, but I did not get any of that at Cottage dental. I was highly impressed with the fact that I was not up-sold by them. They recommended procedures that were only truly necessary, better for my health, and ultimately a more cost effective alternative. The office is very clean and comforting. I just completed my invisaline treatment this Monday. It took about a year, but I am really satisfied with the result! I always had Dr Kimberly Nguyen and assistant Karla. They were so nice and kept checking if I was doing fine while the treatment. I commuted from Pasadena to Fullerton. It was a long drive but somehow I was so excited to visit the clinic. All staffs are really nice and so welcoming!, and they really care about the patients. When I first visited there, Dr Nguyen suggested to me that I should get braces though I really wanted to have invisaline treatment. It seemed really difficult, but she did an AMAZING job. I was not able to smile for a long time... Oh well... Now I can't stop smiling!! I will miss this place so much and definitely come back for the cleaning! read more

I was really impressed by the service at Cottage Dental. All of the staff were very caring and compassionate and fully understood my needs. It's not as high tech as some of the other places in Fullerton (with the movies and tv screens on the ceiling) but honestly, the technician that worked on me, made me much calmer than any movie would have. By far, THE BEST dental experience I have EVER had! ALL of the staff members are knowledgeable, friendly, and very good at what they do. From Sayra, who took my ex-rays, to the Hygenist (I'm so sorry I forgot her name), to Dr. Johanna who explained what issues I have with my teeth, and gave me multiple options on how to proceed, to Mariana and Aundrea as I checked out. Let me just say that, though I forgot her name, the hygienist there is WONDERFUL. My teeth are close together, and I get plaque buildup very easily. I usually leave the dentist with throbbing gums, that continue for the next couple of days. When I left Cottage Dental, I felt great. My teeth felt amazing, and my gums felt good. I only felt slight tenderness before bed, but the next day, nothing. I do have some cavities, sadly. Mariana quickly verified my insurance coverage, and emailed me my payment options. She is smart, quick, and super friendly. I found Cottage Dental through yelp, and they did not disappoint. They will be our family dentist for years to come.
