My friends were visiting from Japan, and we wanted to take them somewhere that felt a little different from the usual spots. Since we were making last minute plans, we landed on Cotto because of its great reviews and the fact that we could actually get a table on a Friday night. The restaurant was small, cozy, and full of charm. It had that classic Italian neighborhood feel, but with a fresh, modern touch. We were greeted and seated right away, and our server was friendly and happy to share a few recommendations. For dinner, we ordered two pizzas (Margherita and Funghi), two salads (Caesar and Watermelon), and a tiramisu to share. Everything arrived surprisingly fast, and honestly, we were already excited before taking the first bite because it all looked amazing. The food tasted just as good as it looked. The pizzas were perfectly baked with a thin crust that had the ideal balance of chewiness and crunch. The Margherita was fresh, simple, and delicious, while the Funghi brought a rich, savory umami flavor. When I asked my friends which pizza they liked best, they immediately agreed on the Funghi. The salads were fresh and refreshing, and the tiramisu was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Not a single dish disappointed. Between the delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and attentive service, Cotto made a great impression on all of us. Most importantly, my friends enjoyed the experience, which made me feel like I had scored some bonus host points. If you're looking for a relaxed, no-fuss Italian dinner that delivers on flavor, Cotto is definitely worth a visit.

Cotto is Italian perfection! We thoroughly enjoy a quality option for a late night happy hour. $15 pizzas and pastas and they are always on point. The drinks are trendy, delicious and compliment the meals perfectly. Our go-to spot in Seattle for high quality delicious Italian food.

Super cute ambiance, food was good, customer service was slow but it looked like they were short staffed. We got the Margherita pizza, broccoli, & vodka pasta. Everything was delicious but the vodka pasta lacked flavor. Would be back for the pizza!

Decided to meet a fellow Yelp elite at cotto as she is a local now and swears by this place. We didn't have a prior reservation but were able to get a table. The ambience was cozy and chic. The server was super friendly and suggested some great things to us. My friend and I decided to order the risotto and the verde pizza. The food hardly took around 10 mins to come but we were happily sipping on some sauv blanc in the meantime. The risotto and the verde were some of the tastiest dishes I have ever tried. Trust me, I am not exaggerating when I say this! The crust if the verde pizza was light, springy and crunch and the toppings were delicious! The risotto was so creamy and decadent. You can't go wrong when you trust a fellow Yelp elite for restaurant suggestions and Cotto proved it. I highly recommend this place!

Fantastic happy hour! We got the brussel sprouts and the pasta al vodka, both were delicious. The brussel sprouts were surprisingly flavorful, and the pasta definitely hit the spot. Even though we were there during happy hour, I would have been happy paying regular price on everything we ordered. Our server was delightful, very attentive and even gave us recommendations for bars that turned out to be great! The ambiance was very pleasant, dim lighting but not too dark, not too loud but not too quiet. Definitely recommend this spot.

Came on a Saturday evening and there was no wait. We both felt like our food was a little lackluster in seasoning or taste. Could have been more flavorful. But it still tasted fine. Just a little underwhelming. I did like the ambiance of the restaurant and the service was pretty attentive.

We went to Cotto for dinner which happened to be during Happy Hour. Since there were five in our group we ordered several items from the HH menu to share. Everything was delicious, from the pizza to the pasta. The standouts were the meatballs and the rigatoni. The short ribs were from the regular menu and those who sampled agreed they were tender and delicious! The waitress was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was casual but inviting. Luckily we walked from our hotel because it is difficult to find street parking in the neighborhood.

Super cute restaurant in a boomin area. Their date night deal with a pizza, pasta, appy and wine is great!! Good pasta, good pizza, good service.

Made reservations on OpenTable for Valentines' Day. Staff were super friendly. Was seated promptly. There was a lot of bar seating and indoor table seating. They also had patio outdoor seating. Food was very flavorful and we loved all the pasta dishes we ordered. Restaurant was clean inside and perfect for date night. Need to come back for their happy hour.

This was my second time visiting Cotto. Finally I came around to write the review. Both times, my friends and I were able to just walk in and get seated instantly. Started with a classic gin & tonic and it was good! We ordere the Funghi pizza, it was yum with earthy mushroom flavor and the crust was delicious. We also got an appetizer that came with bread with greens/pickled bites on top. It was flavorful and rich in taste. The vibes are cozy, intimate, and the staff is genuinely so nice, attentive without hovering. Perfect spot to even plan a nice date night! Overall, solid food and good drinks. I'd def go back!

Amazingly tasty food. I ordered the gnocchi and was VERY pleased!! Best pasta I've had in a while. Service by that adorable Turkish bartender was fantastic, he's also pretty fun to talk to. I recommend!!!

    Braised pork hash and shakshuka
    Joanne W.

The food was absolutely delicious! It is a little higher end for brunch in terms of pricing though so once in a while is ok for me. The braised pork dish was really good. I thought there would be more pork under but it was mainly potatoes and veggies. The shakshuka was probably my favorite with the eggs and the amount of flavor of the entire dish. The drinks were an iced americano and a Paloma. The server was very nice and check in with us every now and then. The interior is fancy but not too fancy so wearing casual clothes is ok. They also have an outside seating area for really nice days.

This is a really cute Italian spot in Belltown. Make sure to ask for the special 2 person menu! It comes with your choice of wine, appetizer, pasta and pizza to share with your dining partner. It's a great deal for $70! My BF and I ended up getting the Brussels sprouts which were quite toasty and flavorful! A very nice size portion too. Then we had the pasta with brisket. This was the highlight of the meal, with homemade pasta and savory brisket. Then we had the funghi pizza with wild mushrooms and fontina cheese. It was quite good! We couldn't even eat all the food and had to take some home as leftovers. Nice service and ambiance as well. Not too crowded on a weeknight either.

I first arrived around 6:15 PM. The area was packed and finding street parking was surprisingly difficult, so give yourself some extra time if you're driving. I also didn't have a reservation and was quoted about a 45-minute to one-hour wait for a walk-in. The woman at the front was very nice, though, and took my number for the waitlist. I used the time to drive over to Kerry Park for some sightseeing and came back around 7:30 PM. By then, my spot was ready and I was seated at the bar. I hadn't really eaten a proper lunch after the race, so at this point I was basically combining lunch and dinner. On the recommendation of the woman serving me at the bar, I ordered two half portions of pasta: Tajarin con burro e salvia -- $20 Fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with butter and sage. Cavatelli al ragù di costolette -- $24 Cavatelli with short rib ragù and marinated cherry tomatoes. While I was waiting, they also brought out a complimentary amuse-bouche with toast, fig, and a dark reduction. It was a nice little start to the meal. The tajarin with butter and sage came first. I was starving and finished it pretty quickly. They also served bread and long, thin, crunchy breadsticks that I believe were grissini. The pasta was good, although it didn't completely blow me away. I'd probably give that dish around a 3.5/5. Then came the cavatelli with short rib ragù. Oh my gosh, guys. This might genuinely be one of the greatest pasta dishes I've ever tasted. Somehow, it was even better than the spaghetti Bolognese I'd had at another Italian restaurant the night before. The short rib ragù was remarkable -- incredibly rich and flavorful -- and the cavatelli had this wonderful soft, chewy texture that worked perfectly with the beef ragù and tomatoes. Everything just came together. This was easily the highlight of the meal and one of my favorite Italian dishes I've had anywhere. The bar seating also ended up being pretty social. I talked with a guy next to me who had recently finished a triathlon, and chatted with another woman whose birthday was the following day. It made eating solo considerably more enjoyable. By the end, I was completely full. Considering those two half portions essentially became my post-race lunch and dinner combined, I thought it was well worth it. I'm giving Spinasse 5/5 largely because that cavatelli with short rib ragù was absolutely remarkable. I'd come back without question the next time I'm in Seattle -- and I'd probably order that exact dish again. One word of warning: I'd strongly recommend making a reservation, especially on a weekend. If you're dining solo, walking in and waiting for a bar seat can work, but I'd still be prepared to wait. 5/5 stars Last visited: August 30, 2026

What's most disappointing isn't that problems happen, it's how they're handled. The attitude often gives the impression that the customer is always wrong, rather than making any effort to understand or resolve the situation. The service has come across as rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. Good hospitality should make guests feel welcomed and want to come back. Unfortunately, my experiences here have done the exact opposite.

The courtyard is absolutely beautiful, especially with the fountain, cozy lighting, and intimate atmosphere. It has such a romantic, tucked-away feel that you almost forget you're in the middle of Belltown. The food was fantastic from start to finish. There's a great variety of Italian and Sicilian-inspired dishes, and everything we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and there were so many things on the menu that I could easily see myself coming back several times just to try different dishes. What really stood out was how much the atmosphere adds to the entire meal. This isn't just a place to grab dinner and leave--it's somewhere you can actually sit back, enjoy a drink, have a conversation, and take your time. It would be an especially great choice for a date night, anniversary, birthday, or any evening when you want dinner to feel a little more special. The combination of the food, setting, and hospitality made this a memorable experience. Seattle has plenty of Italian restaurants, but La Fontana has a personality and atmosphere that make it stand out. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking for a beautiful Italian dinner with a unique Seattle atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to coming back!

After ordering, you seat yourself and they call your name when the food is ready. We had no problem finding a table for two. There seemed to be a lot of takeout orders coming through. Both pastas tasted fresh and were cooked al dente, just as advertised. The carbonara was creamy and flavorful. The short rib itself was good, but the pasta and sauce were a bit separated, so the pasta didn't absorb as much flavor as I expected. The cannoli was very filling and had a hint or orange in it.
