Usually love this place and I'm sad that I have to even leave this review. As I'm typing this my family and I are driving up the road to Texas Roadhouse for dinner because after sitting in an empty restaurant for several minutes and being seated by a silent host who didn't even offer a "hello" we were not approached for so much as a drink order as a table of servers sat apparently bickering along the back wall. You guys are usually so much better than this. I hope I have a chance to change this review to something better later on. read more

I had just moved to Flower Mound, and I've heard a lot of reviews about this cotton patch and decided to try, as I entered I was sat by this server. My server was amazing and my service was great! They are still using styro foam for their delivery containers as of july 25, 2020. Apparently delivery comes included with burnt plastic in the food. You guys need to line the container with aluminum, paper, or use paper based containers read more

Awful. The worst. I picked up a to-go order less than an hour ago and upon opening my lunch, I discovered a worm-like bug nestled in my steamed vegetables. I quickly stopped eating and called the manager, Dustin, who then told me this was "common in the food industry". First off, this is not "common", I don't seem to ever have this problem when I go to other restaurants. And when discovering the bug, you would think they would say this never happens and they are sorry but no, I get "this is common in the food industry". we had part dine in order and then took an order to go dine in; both salads came out with no croutons. i've eaten at other cotton patch location and salads always had croutons. so i asked server. she said salads did not come with croutons but she could get me some. yes please. she did. no big deal just odd because as we were leaving I noticed several other customers eating salads with croutons. again no big deal. the rest of the meal was fine To go order: 2 orders of cinnamon apples. when i got home and opened containers there was barely 3 table spoons of apples in each container. again, i've ordered these cinnamon apples to go plenty of times from other locations so this was definitely Not a regular serving portion. Total rip off and very disappointing. no way whoever prepped this could think this was a full serving. not even half not even a quarter serving. For a $50 tab plus $9 tip I expect more!! Terrible service and training standards for staff/customer service . Arrived to pick up my take out order one of the hostess asked for my name and etc. Quickly the two hostess realized my food had been taken be the customer before me. Rather than tell me Helen (main hostess) ignores me for 10 minutes . She proceeds to laugh when I ask for a manger and explain how the customer taking the wrong food wasn't her fault . The manager did the usual "free meal" next time spill , which I declined . 10 minutes later I go back up to pick up my food and Helen is there to once again tell me how my bad attitude and this "situation" was not her fault . If you want terrible service from under trained teenagers then please eat here. read more

I'm from Houston and I loved the Cotton Patch Cafe back home so I decided to try this location out. As I was eating I heard someone throwing up in the bathroom and it was pretty disturbing. I didn't think anything of it and kept eating. About halfway through I ended up in the bathroom throwing all of my food up and got food poisoning. Will not be back unfortunately. read more

I have never been a big fan of CPC but my wife likes it. I always (including this trip) find the food way too salty! On this trip I chose to share my wife's meal as she never finishes it. Her go to is always the Chicken Fried Steak with gravy on the side. We were both very disappointed in the fry of the Steak! The breaking was not fried till golden leaving a very unpleasant doughy mouth feel! Not good! My son ordered the chicken strips and they were fried perfectly. Unfortunately his two sides of strawberries contained multiple rotten pieces. You would think they would take more care on a child's plate but no! I don't need to worry about my wife wanting to go back after this experience. So many better options in the area! read more

Whoa! from 1* to 5*! all it takes is AMAZING service! im a huge stickler for service ABOVE everything else! ive recently been diagnosed with several food allergies and have special dietary needs. My husband and I were lucky enough to have the kiddo stay at a friends and take our first date night since becoming pregnant with #2! after reviewing some old stand by places i discovered Cotton Patch has a very well laid out allergen menu!! HUGE PLUS! we decided to give it a try again. Immediately greeted at the door and when we werent keen on a booth next to the drafty front door the hostess had no issue with us having a cozy booth for two in another area! Austin our waiter was quick to arrive. making sure we had silverware and got our drinks started. we ordered and i informed Austin of my allergy and he was very polite and did not seem annoyed like i have found at other places we have gone. At one point i went to the facilities and when i came back my husband had a silly grin. He said "so i asked him for a stack of napkins and he actually brought me a small STACK of napkins!" my husband had ordered greasy food and was genuinely pleased. Our drinks were never empty! when they got low Austin brought over a new one exactly as we had ordered the first and removed the old glass. when my salad was over i noticed the bowl disappeared from edge of table just as quickly as it was put there. He asked us how the meal was but let us enjoy our time together making himself available but not overbearing! Of course we had to pull the manager over and let her know simply how amazing he was as a server! We will be back! oh and food was delicious! I love the way they do their fried cinnamon apples! better than anywhere else! 4/9/17 well i just cant seem to ever get consistent service. our server Kenna L (got from check as she never introduced herself) my "croton free" salad (i have food allergies) arrived covered with crumbs. when i questioned it "did this have crotons and then they were taken off? it has crumbs all over!" i was told "no" when i stared at her she said "well i dont know i just took it out of the fridge" so now i know the salads are not fresh.. i got another salad. my husband and son ordered an appetizer of chips/queso/salsa. i asked about whether or not the chips went in the fryer with gluten items. after bringing my guys bread and our drinks. i asked again about chips. she said she forgot to ask and went to find out. answer was yes. i said ok well they (meaning husband/son) can still eat them. our food came and we never got chips which my son had been waiting on. Kenna never came to our table except when she brought something. my food was all slid to one side and i was missing an extra add on side. she assumed that because i inquired about chips that the guys who actually ordered them didnt want anymore. but she never asked. whole time we thought they were coming. she took my husbands drink back into kitchen for refill instead of refilling at table or bringing new glass...suspicious. never asked how food was. overall a disaster. she was however visibly capable of holding lengthy conversations with 3 gentlemen workers at the register by kitchen. which is where she was the majority of time. not impressed 4/13/17 Lisa (manager) contacted me Via Yelp and Phone call. she seemed genuinely disturbed by what went down in relation to my allergies not being taken seriously. she apologized profusely and i accepted. she has plans to make this up to our family and assured me she will reinforce safety guidelines and make sure the staff fully understands the importance of omitting food items when asked and doing their best to make it safe when able. i really appreciate the time she took to speak with me. i always say customer service is what i look for before everything else and i appreciate her concern. read more

I've gone to this restaurant many times over the last several years. This last year it seems like the the food hasn't been near as good as it was for years. This has always been one of my very favorite places to eat. I hope the changes happen to get them the staff/management needed to get this location back up to a 4 and 5 star rating. Love me some Cotton Patch!! Everyone at this location is so sweet, even if they are kids. Calla was our waitress and very attentive. Monday is Chicken Fried day, so it's the best. First of all, I love this location, always consistent and then it wasn't. There were at least 5 couples waiting to be seated, hostess says 5-10 minutes, ok there are plenty of open tables seems reasonable.... Hostess would walk off to chat with her mom who was dining in the restaurant, bus person flung his dirty rag around like he was tossing pizza dough, and servers were telling hostess not to seat anyone else in their section.... All this at 7:00pm??? Should have just left but we waited and we're finally seated 33 minutes later, probably would have been longer and those clearly more aware left and we moved up on the wait list. Good point, server was great, overwhelmed, but awesome.... We continued to watch dirty dish towel get flung around the dining room like tossing pizza dough, even tried to complain to no avail.... Finally food and you know what a raw freaking hamburger! Asked for manager, he was no help.... We gave him our bill and told him to forget it! Tipped our waiter and and hour and half later starving and annoyed! Get some serious help! BTW, don't let a table full of high school girls come in for a get together at the back and distract your male wait staff!!! Horrible!!! read more

Wow, what a bad night! We met friends here for dinner. I ordered the pecan catfish with two sides. The catfish was burned, the steamed broccoli was raw and the other side was cold. I asked our waiter to bring hot sides and he brought two more- raw broccoli and a cold side. The waiter tried a third time and had the sides microwaved. Broccoli was still raw, but they finally got one hot. This used to be a great place to eat but was terrible tonight. The only good thing about the evening was a great waiter. Thanks Brady. read more

I realize it is a Friday night, however, it took 15min for anyone to address us once seated... our waiter barely came and addressed us, and when he did, he complained about having to clean, the kitchen taken forever, filling his own table glasses, etc. it took over an hour once seated to get our food. We ordered the same 3 house salads and all ingredients were different. We never received our appetizer only to find out they were out of it once we asked twice....and then it magically appeared... food was dry and over cooked. Never had been to a Cotton Patch...I don't think they have these in Cali ... at least not San Diego. Wanted a quick meal, not fast food, so stopped here. Maybe an off night? Super slow. Waiter was very nice, apologetic, and gave us complimentary dessert since the wait was terrible, and they screwed up our order. I ordered salmon online. 2 orders. I walk into the store and walk directly to the to go area. The young lady there either ignored me purposely or just didn't see me. She walks to the back. She comes back again. At this point I see the bags of food to go. She is texting on her phone by now. I thought to myself, I bet if I go snooping through these bags to find mine, she'll suddenly realize I'm standing there. As I suspected, as soon as I start looking at the bags to hopefully find my own receipts she suddenly notices me. Once I get home I notice that I have rotten lettuce. The Good: The serving girl was very sweet, through all the hiccups. Despite how bad the experience was, I still took care of her with the tip. I saw other people, mostly older patrons, happy with the "Chicken fried" southern food. The Bad: It's never great when you order one food item and an iced tea and the food takes 35 minutes to come out. The ugly: Truth be told I'm partially to blame for the disaster. Why did I expect a teenager (the server) to know what good food is and make a recommendation? She acknowledged that chicken fried is popular and people get steaks but she wouldn't recommend them... instead I tried the chicken breast she recommended with okra and steamed vegetable sides. When it arrived, the chicken was like what i imagine cardboard would taste like. The okra and vegetables were flavorless. How can southern food be this blah? read more

I have mixed feelings here. I have liked this Cotton Patch Cafe for a long time. The food is good. Usually, the service is fast and cheerful. I will go back. I want it to be successful. But ..... This time was disappointing. The food was good, but the service was very slow. Once the meal was delivered, we didn't see our server again for a long time. No offer of additional rolls or refills on beverages. The restaurant gives the appearance of becoming run down. The carpet was very dirty. One piece of the trim -- about 3 feet long -- was pulled loose. Definitely a trip hazard. Generally, there is a good bit of "deferred maintenance". As I said, I will very probably go back. But, I hope they pay some attention to the state of the restaurant very soon or they will be in trouble. read more

The service was horrible at this location. I saw customers getting up to get refills on their drink. First off our waiter named Arman was so slow he never checked on us and got my order completely wrong. We never got the condiments we needed for our meal until we were almost done. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and he brings me a hamburger how is that even close. When I finally got my meal the chicken was extremely dry and over cooked. Also on my salad the croutons were stale and tasted funny. To add insult they charged me for my sandwich after waiting for 30 minutes for it to be made! Our family has been going here for 12 years and the last 6 months in our opinion everything has gone down hill. The food is sooo average now, the service very poor, management just as bad. We also have done a lot of takeout there....never again. 4 out the last 4 times something was wrong just since February. Forgotten food, undercooked food and never ready when we pick up. Talked to Adam the kitchen manager about how his staff was touching food with there hands as I was watching waiting 39 minutes for my pick up order and he shrugged it off on how he answered when called out. The service was terrible and the food was cold. I went here with my grandparents tonight for dinner, and our waitress took a very long time getting anything out to our table. When our meals finally arrived, they were cold, and she had forgotten most of the sides. Not only that, but the kitchen itself didn't get our orders right. I had asked for my gravy to be on the side and instead it was all over my plate, and my grandmother, who ordered her steak medium basically got one that was still mooing. We had also ordered some food to go for my dad, and the waitress forgot to put the order in AND THEN had the audacity to lie to my grandfather's face when the to-go order finally came out.
