Great place for kids. It's loud enough so your kid won't bother other patrons, but not so loud that you can't hear your conversation. I had the catfish and shrimp basket with fries. Catfish was freshly cooked as were the shrimp. Nothing special about the fries really. The servers were really friendly and nice. I give this place 3 stars. read more

We gave Cotton Patch Cafe three tries and they failed each one. The service is horrible. The forget to bring you half your meal and then they never come back to check on you or ask you if you need anything else. The food and atmosphere are ok though nothing outstanding or special and definitely not worth the hassle of actually getting your meal. read more

Disgusting. If you like very greasy (not drained/dripping oil) food, then this is the place for you! I tried it with my son and husband tonight as we are new to the area and are trying new places (to us) each week. I can think of many other better meals for 46 bucks. I ordered fried pickles, blackened tilapia, salad and steamed vegetables. Salad and dressing was not great. Steamed veggies were fairly bland. Tilapia was cooked well and seasoned properly. I have been to this location two times. The first was great, the food fresh, tasted great and even the kids loved it. The second time we went we were disappointed. Our waiter seemed much more interested in flirting with the other wait staff and standing around chatting. The mood was mediocre at best. Good portions, price, food, and service. Chicken fried chicken is so good! Just the right amount of batter and juicy chicken breast inside. Meatloaf wasn't too good but was edible. Wasn't dry or anything, but the flavor and sauce was weird. If you like traditional meatloaf with tomato sauce, don't get this. Bacon fries and chips with queso & salsa were good appetizers. We had a table with 4 adults and the two appetizers and individual meals (smaller portion options) were all finished. Love their bread rolls! Super pillowy soft inside and buttery crust on the outside. Piping hot too when they brought it out. Our server was really good also. Kept coming for refills, checked in once in awhile (but not so much to be annoying), quick and friendly. Overall very good first impression. ROACHES!! This was one of my favorite restaurants since I moved to Frisco in 2015. Today's lunch ended that relationship. I stopped in for a quick lunch today. I ordered chips and queso and tortilla soup.....and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Just when I had given up and was going to leave in frustration, the waitress brought my food. It must have been sitting forever, as the cheese had a film on the top and my soup was cold. I sent the soup back and ate the chips and queso. After eating, I went to the ladies room to my HORROR THERE WAS A HUGE DEAD ROACH ON THE FLOOR right next to the toilet. I will never never never eat there again!! The deal with chains really comes down to service assuming there is good management in place. As a while I think Cotton Patch is decent and have at at several different locations. Thus one was on par with most of my experiences as far as food goes. The hostess wasn't very friendly but the waitress made up for it. read more

Our server today was mediocre at best. She didn't even check on us once we were brought our food by someone else. I can say that six years ago, I thought Cotton Patch was a good place to go. But recently when I have gone, I was disappointed in the atmosphere and the food. I think the main reason for the nose dive in the quality of the food is due to a chef change. Now, there is a sort of mass production feel to the restaurant. I have also experienced a lack of the high level of service, that use to be apparent. This is a cute place! Me and my mom went right in and got seated. Our waiter was very good and pretty cute! The food came out quickly. The bread was good, it was like miniature loafs of bread. Never order a margarita here...EVER! Had a newbie waiter that knew nothing about service and when I told the margarita didn't taste like a margarita he went to ask the bartender. He came back to our table and said the bartender said they don't have a good bar. Truer words. He didn't even offer anything in exchange. He was a terrible waiter and gave terrible service. Manager then came by and asked if everything was to our liking?! I told him what happened, he offered to remove the charge but I had already paid the tab. Second time back was worse. The hostess was not friendly she appeared to be training an older gentleman which he was very pleasant when he sat us. The waitress was nice but she kept telling us how understaffed and busy they were. As someone who has worked in the food industry I feel you should never tell your guests these things. It took quite a while for her to come over to take our drink order we ordered an appetizer at the same time she said she would be back for our food order. when she did return she said she had to go get her pen & pad and she would come back. After a bit she took our order and said the appetizer wasn't ready and said " do you even still want it" we said yes and she said "what was it again?" I'm only speculating but it seemed as if she forgot to put it in altogether. When I ordered our kids' food the menu said choose an entree and side. one wanted chicken and fries the other spaghetti (silly strings I believe is what it was called on the menu) and salad. She said that it would be 2 sides because salad isn't an option I showed her the menu which said salad with low fat ranch as an option and she said "oh okay fine" She then returned a minute later to ask what the kids wanted again. Then another lady came over to say they didn't have spaghetti so we changed to corn dogs. When I checked the time We were 25 minutes in and still no appetizer (bacon cheese fries) they finally arrive and bit later our food comes no corn dog but a huge salad so I ask the girl if it was on there or not. She just walked away. The waitress comes over after a while and I ask her she said she will get one. I told her not to worry about it she's happy with the large salad there's no way she could eat both just please don't charge us since we never got it. She says okay and leaves but comes back a few minutes later with the corn dog anyway I said no we said we didn't need it. There's no way she could eat both she could have if it was the small kids salad with her meal but it wasn't. Our drinks set empty for almost the whole meal until a gentleman came over to fill them, I assume he was a runner or busboy he had an apron on, he was very nice. I sent this via message when it happened and the response was to fill out an online form. I'm not gonna do that I already told you how horrible it was. I placed my order online and was there within 5 minutes. I spoke with an employee who was in the parking lot delivering food but she said she didn't do take-out. I then called into the restaurant and told them I was there and could they bring my food out as soon as it was ready. At the specified time on the order, I called in again asking about my order. Was told they would be right out. When the employee came to the car, I asked if my meal had been sitting there and it had FOR SOME TIME. Now shame on me for not calling back in sooner but shame on them. I was parked in a spot specifically for pick-up orders. Neither of the first two employees had any buy-in to the process or the customer experience. The only reason I am rating it 2 stars is because Amira who brought my food to me refunded my money. She was apologetic and responsive and understood the customer is the reason the business operates. Chewing gum and twirling your hair doesn't pay the bills. Servicing the customer does. The food was cold by the time it came to the car which is a shame as I was there shortly after the order was placed. read more

We travel to this location even when There's traffic as the food and the service are a 10. We eat here at least 3 times a month and anything we order is always fantastic. We recently order the top sirloin and it was as tender as can be. Better than some steak restaurants we been to. read more
