The food was not THAT bad... It tasted somewhat as expected. I ordered the Tilapia with rice and a baked potato. The Tilapia needed more seasoning and slightly less salt. BUT... The amount of salt on the exterior of my baked potato is Criminal. Absolutely no salt was needed..! If you are going to consume that much salt, have a solid health insurance plan. Regardless of your health, you should not be eating this much salt. This establishment needs to adjust their salt usage and focus on actually seasoning the food. How does this place stay in business. One of 3 couples in there on a Friday night. All staff wanted to do was play in the kitchen and yell and scream. Sat there 15 min before even our drink order. Cheese fries came out cheese not melted. Broccoli rice casserole had NO broccoli in it. Potato soup you could eat with a fork. Watched our waiter leave with another guy and was gone 20 min. We placed an online order for curbside pickup yesterday while my friend & I were out. Online ordering was easy. We arrived to curbside and called them. We had to pick up separate orders and they brought them both out with no issues. My family chose Pecan Crusted Catfish with rice, fried okra, and broccoli casserole; Fried Catfish with loaded baked potato & broccoli; Kid's Macaroni & Cheese with fries and green beans; Kids Cheeseburger with mashed potatoes & fruit. I absolutely loved this place. Southern comfort food is always a favorite of mine and the best way to blow my weight watcher points for the week, so it always must be great. This place did not disappoint. For starters the staff was wonderful. From the hostess to the waiter it was spot on southern charm and amazing service. We started with the country fried bacon with maple sauce and oh my god I was hooked. The sweet from the maple topping the salty from the bacon and outer layer was the perfect combo. It comes with a side of ranch or gravy but you don't need it. The flavor is enough in itself. For dinner we all had the country friend steak (special on a Monday - remember that!). It was gigantic and covered in white gravy and we all paired it with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. In other words, we made this meal the one to put us to sleep. It was fantastic in every bite. We were quickly seated and approached by our server. While there was no way to be seated, they were busy. Lucas our server was friendly & professional. He made sure we had hot rolls and full drinks. Our food arrived fairly quickly after we ordered which is always nice since we were eating with our 2 kids. The kids menu had several options and was priced well at $4 plus a drink. Literally just DON'T order to-go unless you're checking everything before leaving yourself. DoorDash or otherwise is a huge nope. I'm not going into everything they did wrong because it's sufficient to say that I ordered the "triple dip" ... and received ONLY chips. About 12 tortilla chips, to be more precise. We've lost $20-$30 to this restaurant with food items left out of pick-up orders. Driving back to a restaurant for their ineptness. Meals ruined. Weird solutions offered like calling the restaurant to place our orders and asking for the manager so he can look up our names and give us a discount. How about getting the order right the first time and not further inconveniencing your customers with more hoops to getting proper service and what we paid for? That said, food quality is as expected. Basic diner food. I do believe this restaurant is trying to do a good job on all fronts. Why we persist in ordering food to go from them is probably the biggest mystery. a discerning diner will know things are not well with Cotton Patch...compared to other restaurants and especially to the bar they set early on in its history vegetables (except salads) are still very good. I would prefer a normal serving on the platter with the entree instead of the half serving bowls they are now using Now for the disappointing part. Their Cesar salad can be very good (chilled bowl, chilled crisp lettuce and shaved parmesan) or very bad (room temp to warm bowl; room temperature romaine with more hard stalk pieces than leaf) Staff turnover remains high and the kids just are poorly trained (I still tip them very well because their job is tough enough) I jave been hearing from the managers at different locations they are testing changes in menu ites etc...you can only use that excuse for so many months Take covid out of the picture and it is hard ti find a well run restaurant with a targeted menu that closes its doors If Cotton Patch does it will be becaise if these missteps by its management read more

Been traveling all day, ordered food thru DoorDash from my hotel. Bag was not sealed, no silverware, napkins or avocado ranch I requested with my appetizer. I ordered a cup of chicken dumpling soup- the container was 2/3 filled. They have a nice lunch menu and I settled on the meatloaf with a side of broccoli and fried okra. I can tell you that the broccoli and okra were spot on but I was kinda disappointed on the meatloaf. I have NEVER been treated rudely in over 30 years of patronizing this restaurant in different locations. Cotton Patch has catered the food for my job's Christmas Party several times, and the cornbread dressing, turkey, sides, etc. are absolutely delicious and prepared on time. We pay to feed 50 people, but there's always so much delicious food left over. What you get for the price is outrageous! This restaurant caters to clean, middle-class people, who just want a super delicious meal. I frequent many upper-class restaurants, and I have tried many different dishes, and I have not found one that trumps the taste of Cotton Patch. If you want high-end, this is not the place. My husband ordered - Chicken Fried Chicken with double Mashed Potatoes and I ordered - Beef Tips with Broccoli Rice Casserole and a Salad. Food was delivered to our table in a timely manner; however, for my husband the flavor wasn't there and one of his mashed potatoes seemed to be replaced with an unknown corn mashed ? something (Later found out it was baked squash). My broccoli rice casserole was more like a soup and my beef tips tasted like it was a low quality Beef Tip Soup (which explains why I was told no I couldn't have it without the brown gravy) and it wasn't topped with shredded cheese and chopped green onions as the menu lists. Came here for their Monday special which is $5.99 Chicken Fried Steak and Chicken Fried Chicken on Monday's. We got our rolls - they were warm and fluffy. Approved! I do prefer sweet butter but I guess I can't be too picky. BF ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with broccoli rice casserole and corn and I ordered the Meat Loaf with broccoli rice casserole and steamed veggies. The portions are big! Check out my pictures. After a really good experience on a Saturday busy time, we decided to try Cotton Patch again for dinner tonight. Service was really slow. Granted, we came in at 8 o'clock but they're open until 10. It took forever to get acknowledged. Drinks took a long time and getting our order filled even longer. The waitress was AWOL for the rest of the evening. She brought her check without asking if we wanted anything else. When we informed her that our son wanted dessert, she picked up the check and took the order. It took another 10 minutes to get the carrot cake and I'm sure just have to be cut. Check came around and laid on our table. We finally got so tired of waiting we decided to use the barcode payment method.
