Food is decent for what you expect from a chain restaurant, but what really bothered me was the service. The waiter we had kept calling myself (31 year old man) and my father (66 year old man) "Buddy" and "Bud". I do not think it is very professional to call your customers "Buddy". The management needs to pay better attention to how their staff talks to their customers. read more

Food is great and fresh. Staff is helpful and nice. They check back often and keep our glasses full. We go here at least 3 times a month for home cooking and are not disappointed. I've lived in Texas 6 years and been to this restaurant about 6 times. It is the ONLY restaurant where I returned my meal to the kitchen as inedible. It was a dish I feel sure had been rejected by someone else, reheated and given to me. When you have grey hair people think your taste buds have been damaged and you don't know what you are eating. Wrong! The last time I was there the chicken patty with gravy appeared to have been run over twice by a Mack truck. I ate part. I'll never go back. However, I have had 2 good meals there. It is always crowded and noisy, and the tea is good. The service is quick and pleasant. Apparently it all depends on what you order. My friends say the meat loaf is terrific. Go figure. read more

Great Caesar salad, Caesar dressing is amazing. However, if you're going to add grilled chicken don't wait until mid-afternoon. The chicken has dried out and some of it was even hard to cut with a knife. But overall, good salad. read more

My boyfriend and I eat here all the time. It is his favorite restaurant, and it is pretty high on my list as well. The wait staff is excellent and so is the food. It has the best meatloaf and pork chops in town. My co-workers always want to eat lunch at The Patch! I like to keep my lunches pretty light and healthy so obviously this isn't going to be my first choice in a lunchtime location. My healthy eating goals are pretty much thrown out the window when I come to lunch here. This location has recently re-modeled and now has a full bar (which we don't utilize during lunch clearly). We usually have pretty average service, but the past few times my crew has dined here I noticed the service was very slow considering most people eating there were on a time crunch. Last week we sat at our table for a good 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order and deliver the coveted cornbread and rolls. Then we had to flag him down to place our order. I went with the chicken strips and ordered honey mustard with them, and of course the honey mustard didn't come out with the tenders and I was almost done with my food before he delivered it. Not sure but we were a little annoyed. He also asked us if we wanted to split our bill up and we said yes and thanked him...and he came back with 1 ticket and said "oh I thought you said all together?" Maybe he was drunk/hungover/new/dumb...whatever the case may be we were annoyed. Definitely not the place to go if you are in a hurry or on a diet, but if you are in a mood to gorge on some home cooking like your mama would make and have some time on your hands, they make some pretty good food! read more

Believe the other negative reviews here. If you like "home-style" cooking this food is not it. It often has a frozen/pre-packaged taste. Stopped in tonight for dessert and the coconut cream pie was blah. Obviously NOT made fresh. Gross pastry, imitation coconut flavor and not real cream. And to make matters worse the bar did not have scotch!! The bartender asked if amaretto was scotch and the couldn't figure out how to ring up a Myers rum. Too many other places around that are so much better. I'm not sure how they survive but I guess people like big portions of mediocre food. read more

This is not fine dining. It is close to being a diner but better. Ever since the re-build, this is a good place to eat for the cost, service and food. Even though this is a comfort food place, our favorite item on the menu is the Cobb salad. It a large salad and all the ingredients are always fresh, plus they always cook the bacon nice and crispy the way we like it. We've tried the pot roast and chicken fried chicken dishes. While they were not bad, they lacked seasoning. I am a huge pot roast fan. Pot roast and mashed potatoes is my ultimate comfort dish. The pot roast was tender, but needed a bit more flavor. Same for the chicken fried chicken, the breading could have been seasoned more. Again, they were not bad so we will definitely try the other dishes on the menu. But, the cobb salad is a definite winner. read more

The first time I cam to this location, the waitress spilled my water all over me and spent the rest of our visit talking to her boyfriend. I figured the food was ok, and she was probably fired by now, so I went back for another shot a year later with my girlfriend. The turkey sandwich she ordered smelled awful and tasted worse, and the waiter didn't care, not helpful or friendly at all. The Cotton Patch in Lewisville is not living up to the potential it could and should have. There was a chubby waitress who was very quick to throw the GM's name around and be hateful to our group (that included 2 babies.) The GM is very unprofessional and so was the staff. Putting that bad experience to the side, the food is very bland. Your plate looks good but the taste is so disappointing. They do have a bar and a patio (the patio put in when Lewisville started the smoking band.) Depending on when you go and who is there depends on if they will let them smoke on it or not.
