A little expensive for what you get, but about what one should expect in Telluride. If you go when it's busy you could have a hard time finding a comfortable place to sit bathe atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired, but at least you can get beer next door. Food was nothing extraordinary but it was solid.

Tried the CC burger and loaded fries. You get a beeper after you order, and there's some dog friendly outdoor tables in a tent across the street. Burger was really good! Perfect quick lunch after a long morning hike. You can also get a beer next door at telluride brewing (they allow you to bring your glass outside)

They even added an edible flower!

Grain bowl for the picnic win! Enough for two! My husband had the tuna on some righteous bread! Better than your mom's!

The food at counter culture is some of the best in telluride! It is tasty, satiating, and we feel great after eating it. The service is quick, friendly, and fun - this is my new go-to spot in telluride. Highly recommend the gobbler on sourdough with extra crispy bacon!

This was a nice place, not very big but the food was excellent as well as the customer service. I had a burger and it was very good. It is a place to drop in have a few beers and a sandwich while you kick rocks with your friend and move on. Overall I thought the place was quaint and welcoming. Not so much on the eye candy, however, does have the potential when things are busy to have plenty of eye candy. I do recommend and would visit again.

This review is for the Counter Culture location in Mountain Village. I had been planning to check out the Society Drive location during my trip, and was surprised to see a sign in Mountain Village for a Counter Culture + Telluride Brewing location. It's a small spot but plenty of tables and a really nice vibe. When you order you get a beeper so you know when your food is ready. We ordered a CC burger and loaded hammer fries to share. The burger was a bit small, but deliciously fresh! My husband said "wow" when he took a bite. I'm sure it didn't hurt that all food tastes amazing after a morning on the mountain. The hammer fries were super crispy and filling. I appreciated the quantity of toppings (particularly the bacon). Hammer fries are apparently a form of smashed potato, and a good candidate for a fork. I think the bill was $30 before tip which is a bit steep, but not for the base of a ski resort.

Classic burgers and basket of fries!

Everything was awesome! And OmG! The best hamburger I've had.... Hands down. Plus, you can grab a beer at Telluride Brewery! Incredible lunch. Thanks!

What a Fabulous Place- Great Owner & Staff!!! A GREAT spot to have decadent Burger or sandwich with QUALITY fresh ingredients! Telluride Brewing is just adjacent through the door for that perfect Beer pairing after a hike or mountain bike ride! Juicy perfectly cooked burger w/ arugula, bacon...cheese...with the perfect bun. AND their Hand Cut Fries are dynamite cooked in Rice Bran Oil with their accompanying house made "Fry Sauce". We made a point to come back a second time this week with the same results!

Locally sourced ingredients. I enjoyed the CC burger and fries. Alittle surprised at the $17 cost for the burger and fries and this walkup counter restaurant, but the quality was excellent. They share outdoor seating with Telluride brewing. Only open since May, they replaced a restaurant I had enjoyed in the past. Past the gas station, inside a small business park, this area is so much easier to access than the center of Telluride. Look forward to returning.

This is a great new addition to Lawson Hill, friendly staff and delish food from a hearty, grass fed burger and fries to this yummy vegetarian grain bowl!

We had a very nice dining experience at Black Iron Kitchen and Bar…read more We came in for dinner on a Thursday night. The restaurant was packed so we were happy to get a table. The inside of the restaurant is warm and cozy. The outside has beautiful fire pit seating. We sat inside. Our server Reka was professional and attentive. Very knowledgeable about the menu and what options were available. Her assistant, An, was so sweet and friendly. He always had a smile on his face and even offered to take our photo when I pulled out my phone. The table was beautifully appointed. Every item we ordered was delicious. We started with the Cheddar Biscuits- grilled benton's bacon, pimento cheese, pickled onion. Very tasty. I ordered the king trumpet pasta and added chicken. The chicken was tender and the pasta dish had good flavor. My husband ordered the salmon with Risotto. He orders salmon quite often and said this was one of the best salmon dishes he has ever eaten. Our friends ordered the shorts ribs as well as a salad and added chicken. Both really enjoyed their meals. I would say they could have done a better job with the martini. It wasn't very cold and not filled to the rim. The old fashions were okay as well. Overall we enjoyed dining here. It's beautiful and our service was excellent.

The gondola ride and panoramic mountain views are breathtaking and were, without question, the highlight of our evening. Unfortunately, the dining experience itself didn't live up to the reputation or the price. Our dinner for two, including gratuity, was approximately $325, and we expected the level of food, service, and attention to detail that comes with a premier fine-dining restaurant. The meal started with promise. The lump crab corn soup was creamy and flavorful, but despite its name, there was barely any lump crab. I found myself searching for it throughout the bowl. It was enjoyable, but I expected much more considering the description and the caliber of the restaurant. The hamachi crudo was also underwhelming. While it was beautifully presented, the flavors were forgettable and lacked the freshness and balance we expected. My boyfriend summed it up best when he said he wouldn't even rank it as "okay." Unfortunately, the entrées never reached the "wow" factor that so many reviews led us to expect. My Dayboat Alaskan Halibut was slightly dry, and while the fish was well seasoned, the accompaniments were so tangy that they completely overpowered the delicate flavor of the fish. My boyfriend's Pan Seared Elk Sirloin was cooked beautifully, but the purée served alongside it simply wasn't very good and didn't complement the meat. Neither entrée left us saying, "We'd come back just to order that again," which is exactly the feeling I hope to have after spending over $300 on dinner. Dessert was enjoyable, but it wasn't enough to change our overall impression. My boyfriend's Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake was the better of the two desserts, while my seasonal peach tart was pleasant but not particularly memorable. Like the rest of the meal, both desserts were beautifully presented, but the flavors didn't leave a lasting impression. The service also lacked the attention to detail expected at a restaurant of this caliber. Our server never brushed the crumbs from our table between courses, and although I had clearly noted on our reservation that we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, no one ever acknowledged it with a simple "Happy Birthday." We weren't expecting a complimentary dessert or special treatment, but recognizing a special occasion is a thoughtful touch that many fine-dining restaurants consistently provide. The atmosphere was also disappointing. I understand Telluride embraces a relaxed mountain culture, but guests were dining in flip-flops, which took away from what should have felt like a special-occasion dining experience. Even more concerning, the woman seated next to us was vaping inside the restaurant. It became bothersome enough that I finally got up and politely asked her to stop myself. I was surprised that the staff never noticed or addressed it. Guests should never have to intervene in that situation. Overall, we left feeling that we paid for the incredible location and views more than the food or service. The scenery is unquestionably five stars, but the dining experience simply didn't justify the price. Allred's has a five-star view, but in our experience, the food, service, and overall atmosphere fell well short of the reputation that brought us there.
