Big burger, big side and lots of yums! We aren't local, but are happy to come to Country Burger when in town to see family. My husband grew up in the area and used ti go to the original location when he was in high school. He says it's the same great quality! I LOVE the BLT, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If they call it large they mean large, so be aware when ordering. Only minus is multiple times the bathrooms have been out of soap or paper towels, but there's always someone around to help. read more

Today marked our first visit to Country Burger. Sadly it maybe our last. Hubby and I really enjoy going to family owned places instead of large chains so when we were in the area during lunchtime we decided to stop in and grab some grub. It was about 1pm on a Monday and the place had maybe 1/4 of the tables full of customers and several carry-out orders coming and going. We both ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Platter which comes with 2 chicken fried steak patties, gravy, toast and fries. I was disappointed in the fact the chicken fried steak was obviously frozen and just thrown into a deep fryer. Being in Texas and advertising homemade food I would figure it wouldn't come out of a freezer. The fries are also frozen and fried so the only thing actually made in the store was the powdered gravy mix and the toast. The customer service was awesome thus the reason for 3 stars. Everyone was very professional and happy to serve us. We maybe back to try a burger but we definitely won't be buying the chicken fried steak again. read more

I would say this is the best burger I ever had in the Plano area. The burger patties were so good. The bread was really nice.

These guys have lost their touch. Back when the 14th street was young and rockin and the owners cared, they gave whataburger a run. however with the growth they cant duplicate. I ate here for the first time since they closed the 15 st shop. My advise is you guys need to kick it up. Are you precooking some meat.? Mine sure tasted like it. I think Ill stick with the new Whataburger location in the old Crispy Cream on Central. read more

We were craving a burger and decided to give this place a whirl. The only reason I can think anyone gives this five stars is because maybe it's nostalgic or something because the food definitely isn't anything worthwhile. I got a hickory burger and the BBQ sauce was disgusting. Thank god they skimp on it; it was tomato based and just god awful. The burger came with that and pickles; no lettuce, no tomato, no onion. Wtf? Really? Manchild got a chili cheeseburger that was pretty much just a sloppy joe. Thin patties, not meaty burgers or anything substantial. We got cheese fries and they were enormous, easily shareable among a group of three or four. For the prices, I'd go to Whataburger instead simply because they give you a fresh tasting burger. Fantastic burgers. I'm here mostly in support of the "double double" trademark issue with In n Out. While I don't agree with trademarking a menu item, we don't have enough Of a litigation team to counter In N Out's army of lawyers. Rather than spend your $s on lawyers, let's use those $'s to make this new name fun. Ask your customers for a new name, and the one to name the new double double gets double doubles for life ;) . Cheapest way to solve your issue and make some good publicity in the making. My suggestion, Just add the word "NOT" besides Double double. Or if that's an issue, "double it", "triple it" etc is easy to roll off the tongue. Check for trademark issues just in case. Good luck! read more

So I know this has appeal for being a Plano establishment but I just wasn't that impressed by the burger. I felt as though this is Whataburger if it was a sit down restaurant, they even wrap their burgers similarly. Ordered two bacon burgers and onion rings, the patty itself didn't taste seasoned so the burger felt imbalanced with the saltiness of the bacon coupled with the semi-bland patty. The o rings were good, can't go wrong with frying up some onions. Maybe it was just an accidental miss because this place is obviously very popular. During the lunch rush it was packed and the line didn't stop. I usually love to support local and wouldn't mind trying again, but this time just wasn't impressed. read more

I've been going to Country Burger since the early '80's and it's always been a favorite. I wanted to update Yelp world since I read negative reviews about how CB was handling business in the Covid world. Rest easy, they are doing everything BY THE BOOK. Everyone in masks and gloves, proper social distancing, constant cleaning inside. Great food prepared safely. There are 3 kinds of burger places, in my opinion, and all have merit. Fast food (Whataburger rules here), Burger Joints, and Upscale Millenial Burgers. This is a BURGER JOINT burger. Don't expect bean sprouts and shiitake mushrooms. But for an honest, fresh-made burger that'll fill you up, you can't beat Country Burger. Today I stopped at Parker location, ordered kids burger meal as usual and was informed that since I was over 12, I had to order the adult size meal. Heck I can't usually finish kids size meal. Guy taking order said that they would not honor the posted price because I was too old. I order to go and they forgot half my order, my driver asked for my drink I paid for they refused. I called to remake my entire order for it fresh. I drove all the way there walk in the cooks are STARING. At me . no apology . They take back the burger that was cold in all this mess. I ask for a ranch and they try to charge 50 cents. This is the type of place I imagined when I heard the name. It definitely feels like an old country restaurant when you walk inside. They have a good selection of items on their menu. My husband & i ordered a regular burger and fries. I also ordered a chocolate shake. They use the very thin burger meat here but I liked that they also use very thin burger buns. I hate places that use the huge buns that just overwhelm the burger. The burger was very very greasy. It was literally dripping when you picked it up. Grease aside, it had a very good flavor. The fries were a cross between regular fries and shoes string fries. They also had a really good flavor. They weren't too crispy but weren't mushy. The chocolate shake was great. Creamy but not an overwhelming chocolate flavor. Your food comes in a brown paper bag whether you order it to go or not. They don't have people walking around to clean up after you so throw away your own mess. The decor is that old school country feel. The tables have cloth checker designs on them and there's random nick nacks on the walls. Most of the people we saw there were families. They have a few TV's located around the restaurant if you're looking to watch a game. I would definitely return here again for a burger, fries and a shake! read more

After consideration, we decided to return to Country Burger. Unfortunately our previous visit wasn't so pleasant. You have to love the quaint atmosphere and Plano locals with families enjoying lunch after a ball game and couples sharing onion rings. Yes, those are the things I've seen at Country Burger. Let's get down to it. The burger is a good burger. If you like that "bowling alley" burger that isn't greasy, big patty with fresh vegetables , you should check into it. We were not disappointed on our recent visit. Albeit we hadn't had a cheeseburger in a while, so we splurged and ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and in case you're wondering, I Ike mustard on mine. No judging. All I can say was our food was on point, okay, maybe the fries were a little cold, but the seasonings and crispy bacon made it just right. I'm happy to be back. Don't go here if you're trying to be COVID safe. We have been going to Country Burger for over 20 years and decided to go there for dinner. After waiting to go inside we saw a family of 5 with no masks on while ordering. We asked the employee if they require masks and they said no. No sign on the door and not following the government mandate. If you're not into wearing a mask and don't care if people die that's fine--keep going there, but if you care about the safety of others please don't. read more

I've been here multiple times. Country burger has never disappointed me. The spicy jack bacon burger is amazing and so is the hickory. Only downside is the location, they're right next to wing daddy's so it's tough to choose between the best burger in Plano or the best wings in Plano. read more

I went in to grab takeout yesterday. I ordered two meals and only got one fry. The biggest issue I had was that not a single employee was wearing a mask. I didn't realize this until after I paid and rounded the corner. Not even the people handling the food. I was watching unmasked cooks interact with unmasked customers. It was horrifying. I was impressed by the younger (than me) kids who worked the counter. Very pleasant. The food --- well not so great. The burgers could be really good if they were seasoned. I feel like most of the other items were frozen only because they tasted like it. Cheese fries were meh. They were topped with bacon bits not fresh cooked bacon. This is the perspective of someone who has worked in the hospitality industry - restaurant, bar, and catering. Taste was good but there were some issues: 1) "Specialty Burger" - Hickory Cheeseburger (with Homemade Hickory sauce & pickles) which I thought would also come with some lettuce/tomato/onion but was just this teaspoon of sauce and some pickles slapped on. Juicy but thin patties much like Whataburger. 2) Sweet Potato fries and Onion Rings were good and crispy. However no ketchup packets or even a 2oz to-go cup of it. 3) My kids gatorade must have been the end of the machine because it was just light blue and water. We thought they forgot her tenders but it was just because they were so tiny it was buried in with her fries in the little paper sack. Good taste not too greasy. It was fine but again I thought they'd run it 'through the garden' with a burger set or put a lil more sauce on it or a 2oz to-go cup for a burger and of course the sides. read more

They even have the same guy behind the counter (Sorry Counter-Guy, it's been YEARS since I've been in High School and I just can't remember your name for the life of me). Where is my Plano Card when I need it?!?!? I was there a couple of weekends ago and damn, that Double Double with bacon and cheese was SO GOOD. Onion rings and BIG soda were the sides and it was like I was in High School again (short that 2nd double double b/c I didn't have my Plano Card! FRUSTRATING!!!). If you are worried about your veins and stuff, don't go here. If you want a DAMN GOOD burger, go here. Now that I think about it, this would be one of the few reason why I would go back to DFW. First time here, good food for a good price. Got the habanero chicken and wife got the chicken sandwich. The chicken needed some seasoning but everything else made up for it.
