This is a cute, unpretentious breakfast/brunch joint. The decor is simple but pretty cozy, with booth seating. I came here with a friend on a Wednesday morning for brunch and while it wasn't packed, there was a steady stream of customers. Our waitress was casual and nice, even bringing us lemons and a teapot full of hot water so we could refill ourselves if we wanted. Service was fast and efficient. I've read that some people dislike the fact that the menu has calorie counts printed next to each item, but I personally appreciate it. That way, you know what you're putting in your body and can cut back a little if you're watching what you eat. I don't know if they account for the extra toppings such as syrup and whipped cream though. Fresh strawberry waffle: Their waffles are delicious! They're cooked to the exact crispness where the edges are crispy and toasted but the inside is still soft. We ordered the strawberry one per the waiter's recommendation because it has fresh strawberries and glaze whereas the blueberry one has blueberries in syrup. If you're looking for a lighter option, I would say ask them to go easy on the glaze because it's pretty sweet and can overpower the freshness of the strawberries. It pretty much serves as syrup for the waffle itself. There's also a huge mound of whipped cream on top, which went very well with the waffles. Fresh Garden Omelet: This was really good, not too oily and heavy with spinach mixed into the egg and a generous portion of zucchini and other vegetables folded within. We ordered it with a side of hash browns, and these were some of the best hash browns I've ever had. The outside potatoes were crunchy and browned (but not oily) and the inside was tender and hot. So good with some ketchup splashed over them and eaten with the omelet. Overall, I really liked my experience here and will be coming back. So we came for breakfast at lunch time hours and got the meat lovers omelet and the eggs Benedict. My one-year-old daughter got the French toast. It seems like if you've been to one country waffle you been to them all. Seems like all of them have identical decor and floor plans. The booth we sat in had ripped fabric in the cushion, and the space between the two benches seemed a little tight. I was literally stepping on the feet of my guest. This place is in desperate need of a remodel. Definitely not a hip place to go to for a girls brunch because most of the guests are over the age of 50+ or families. For some odd reason it's hard for me to make breakfast at home for myself on my days off or go by myself to a restaurant. Fortunately, it was not one of those days. I came into Country Waffles after running an errand. I was seated quickly as most folks were at work as it was Friday. The waiter came over pretty quickly to see if I wanted anything to drink. I ordered a coffee and perused over the menu. I decided on a All American Breakfast with pancakes and sausage. It came out relatively quickly. We had to walk out before we placed an order. After a three-mile hike, a group of four of us were famished. Country Waffles was fairly close to one of the trailheads, so we went. After being seated and getting our water and an orange juice for my friend, he abruptly told us, "we need to leave now." Why? A young lady preparing bread to be toasted, touching her clothes, face, nose, and hair with no gloves handling the bread. Never mind the pandemic that is simply unacceptable standards of cleanliness. Came here for breakfast. I used the Yelp application and this was the closest waffle joint. As we walked in, it's a fairly small restaurant with tables on the right and left. They were busy on a Monday morning. We got seated right away. As we looked at the menu, I decided on the basic breakfast without bacon or sausage. Costs more to add meat. I got two eggs over easy with hash browns and two buttermilk pancakes. My daughter got the kids pancakes that came with whipped cream and chocolate chip pieces. Pancakes were soft and moist. It came with syrup and butter already on top. I washed my food down with iced tea. Pretty good. Service was quick and excellent. The waitress managed to check up on us once. AVOID at all costs. ZERO STARS. Pay the extra couple dollars for black bear diner. Never ever again will I eat at a country waffle. I ordered while on vacation through DoorDash to my hotel. We had a bacon and eggs with biscuits and gravy and a Nutella banana waffle. I asked specifically to have all the waffle toppings on the side...I also asked for extra ketchup and salt and pepper. When I received it the waffle was mushy covered in the toppings with a hair on top. The strawberries were can quality. Disgusting. The eggs were supposed to be over medium and were rock hard. The biscuits had no gravy at all....no extra salt and pepper. No ketchup. I called and the man basically said you can come back and get the right order...no sir I will not I paid an additional $12 to have it delivered I wanted a refund. He says sorry I can't do that call DoorDash. This was not a DoorDash issue this was a restaurant issue because their lack of attention and cleanliness. Another one of those "I don't know why this place gets less than a 4" restaurants in my little list of Yelp reviews. If I were to reiterate a gripe about the Bay Area, it would be that up here, you seem to get a little less of everything but pay more for it. Country Waffles in my opinion is one of the few places we've been to that provide a good value to diners of all socioeconomic backgrounds while providing good food. After the horrible experiance at the one in Danville, my boyfriend and I thought we'd try this location, bad mistake. While service was prompt, our waiter was very rude and abrupt with us. Granted he didn't look a day over 16 but whatever. What makes this place so bad isn't necessarily the service but the patrons. It was just our luck that we got seated next to the screaming baby. The mother could have easily taken her son outside to let him cry but she sat there at the table for a good 10 minutes and just let that demon spawn continue to scream. I think I felt my ovaries shrivel up during my entire meal. Of course by the time we got our check (which our server literally threw at us) she had just gotten up and left. This is my go to breakfast place in the area. Part nostalgia and part food. I have been coming here for years and I always have had a great experience. I always get the Cinnamon Role French Toast but today I tried the Peanut Butter and Banana Waffle and it was amazing. The atmosphere is like a mom and pop shop and a place where locals from the area like to come and hang out at. The staff is super nice and they continuously come around filling up coffee. That once in awhile craving to have some good breakfast or even lunch. It's sometimes a nice change of pace just to have some diner/American food in the dublin area, since we're full of excellent ethnic places here. The place itself is a decent size and cozy overall. The booths themselves can be a tight fit I imagine for some like most places that have booths. The waiters and waitresses all seem fairly friendly and actually sort of keep track of our waters or coffees being filled. The food is always a good value imo and the proportions are pretty plentiful too! The minor problem at times are usually the weekends where parking can be a pain or the wait can be awhiles, meaning the line is out the door. Only good thing is that when this occurs, there are a few seats outside to sit down and they offer free coffee too. Beyond that, they close early so if you are looking for a place for a normal dinner, you'll have to look elsewhere. The wind was whipping and it was pouring rain that morning and I was hoping that it wouldn't too crowded. In luck we were! We kicked off the morning with some deliciously freshly brewed coffee. The few times I've been here, each experience has made me feel very relaxed, kinda like home! My buddy had the Breakfast Steak & Eggs combo and I went with the Meat Lovers Omelet. I was searching for a breakfast place that has strawberry waffles specially and found only this place and Denica's Real Food Kitchen have them. My husband's aunt told us it's very busy on weekend and we weren't sure if it will be busy on weekday so we came here instead. Pro: Their kid menu is quite extensive and has all kinds of options. I thought about ordering the kids portion waffle but my mother in law wanted to try so we just got the full order to share. Con: Saw a fly kept flying around our area. It fascinated my daughter. Overall, the food is pretty decent. My picky daughter ate her waffles and strawberries (with strawberry glaze, I was surprised it wasn't too sweet at all). Not bad, came here for Easter brunch with my friends. This place was definitely packed but luckily we only had to wait around 15 minutes for a booth. Our waitress was very nice and our food came out quickly. I tried the waffle with strawberries and cream. My dish was good,the strawberries had that thick, syrupy texture to them which made the waffle a little mushy after a while. Prices were pretty cheap. Waffles were $6.95 and most other breakfast entrees were around $8 or so. Seems like a good place to grab a simple breakfast and they also had a nice selection of burgers, salads and other lunch items. Open til 3pm daily! The servers are old, the patrons are old, the carpet is old, the seating is old. Hell, the food tastes old. On this visit, I ordered a basic pancake with eggs and bacon. The wife got a corned beef hash. Both were beyond oily, and the flap jacks were oily as hell. It came with their signature biscuits that probably couldnt pass quality control in Cocoran State Prison. I tried. I tried giving this place three shots. But every single time, it was a major disappointment. The one in Livermore is entirely better, so if you "need" to hit up a CW, then head there.
