I really wanted to like this place since it gives you that small town diner feel, but the food is just not good here, I actually feel a little sick while writing this review since my hubby and I juuuuuust ate there. I ordered the Steak & Eggs, medium rare with "country potatoes" and 3 eggs cooked over-easy plus a couple slices of sourdough toast. First off all, the steak was disgusting. All I tasted was the oil it was marinated in and then cooked in. Was it medium-rare? Nope. It was disgusting, and flavorless. I tried sprinkling pepper on it and some hot sauce but still no hope. The country potatoes were soggy and again no flavor. The eggs were probably the only good thing on my plate. For $14.50 this dish is over priced. Never again. The other thing I want to point out is how weird the bacon tasted and it's weird texture. Per my husband it was like cardboard and was low quality. The toast was soaked in margarine which gave an unpleasant taste. We are not margarine fans. Our bill with 2 entrees and 1 cup of coffee was close to $40 including tip. To be honest that seems a bit steep for not so great good. The price versus the quality is not worth it. Will not return, unless big changes happen. Pleasantly surprised with the chicken and waffle. The chicken was fried well, crispy. It didn't have heavy seasoning or breading. I like that it was more of a natural chicken taste. The waffle was good too. If you don't like syrup it might taste like the waffle could use a little sugar in the batter. The Joe's skillet was bland. No flavor at all. It's not the first time I've experienced that here. Even though it's one of my favorite breakfast dishes in general, I'll be skipping it here from now on. French toast was cool. Average french toast. Wow where to start! The staff are friendly and professional ! The management are helpful and always smiling. I come here often its right around the corner from my office. I have never had a bad meal and always am amazed at the speed and freshness of each order! I bring employees here for lunches and breakfasts as a reward .. yeah it's that good! I was in the area, and I decided to make a return visit to this place. The staff were courteous and attentive as I was seated. The menu was loaded with breakfast specials, but todayI was craving Fried Chicken and Waffles, so that is what I ordered. While waiting, I sipped on my OJ and listened to 50's and early 60's music. I saw this place next to the taco place i love to go to and saw their ad, Weekday Special for $7.49 so i decided to try this place. i got the 1/2 waffle with scramble and (2) slices of bacon super cheap i think! And their waffle was super fluffy and i added butter on top of it. They have chicken and waffles i bet they r good but will try next time. The whole meal was just perfect i think! The service and food were outstanding. We were greeted immediately and sat within 5 mins during the lunch rush. We noticed right away they were working as a team and as soon as we sat down one person took our order drinks and brought them promptly. The server than came out and took our order. Once our order was placed our food came out within 10 mins, which at the lunch rush that's AMAZING. Our server was attentive and got refills and our toast out as soon as we requested it. The food was the best part of all of this. I got the Hangover and my husband the Country and they were AMAZING !!!!! It came in the cutest plates with a handle they were loaded with the best convo of eggs, gravy, hash brown and sausage. Mine also had veggies and they were just the right amount. The kids had chicken tenders and burger. The burger could have been a little better with Mayo and ketchup but being for kids I understand why there wasn't a lot. We went today finally for the first time! I was happy about the turkey bacon and grits. It's hard to find good grits and these were good. I mean not my grits but I'm southern grown and raised so really we only like our grits or big mamas grits . They are good. I've been to other spits where the grits were clearly from a instant packet. These actually tasted like grits that were cooked. I thought my turkey bacon was going to be rubbery but surprisingly it's was tender and yummy. Not crispy but I get it. Turkey bacon goes dry real fast. You can tell it was steamed and there was no crunch but it was thick and tender so I'm good with that. My kiddo never eats eggs but he ate his eggs and turkey sausage today which never happened. Now the waffle.... It was so light and crisp and it did what waffles should do. My kiddo only got half and he was mad about that. If I knew the waggle was going to be so good I would have gotten him a whole one. The staff were so nice. I really liked that. They are attentive without being annoying. This is is our new breakfast spot on Sunday's. My kid used to love ihop but now he wants to come back for a big waffle next Sunday. Went there for lunch today... not a fan. Maybe I should have stuck with what they are known for, waffles. Instead I ordered the grilled chicken breast sandwich. The chicken was a small thin rubber like piece of something that resembled chicken and was soo soo dry. I ordered it with no Mayo, so my sandwich came with the dry chicken like thing, a piece of lettuce and one slice of pickle. It was a sad lunch. Lesson learned stick with breakfast at country waffles. Let me say that this was over the top delicious. The whipped cream was soft and sweet with just the right amount of caramel. The cost, $9.25. Since I also wanted bacon and eggs, I ordered the Bacon & Egg breakfast. This came with four slices of bacon, two eggs, potatoes (I chose hashbrowns over country potatoes) and two biscuits, $11.25. By the way, the biscuits look dry, but I haven't tasted them yet. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. This Monday morning, the place was packed. Perhaps because it is a Holiday.
