Last week I was in for service and the experience went well as it NORMALLY does. Our service tech indicated there was a service note, not a recall and he scheduled me for 9:00am Monday. Upon my arrival I was told it was a 4 hour service - I had no notice that it was going to take 4 or 5 hours out of my day. I was unhappy that a courtesy van was not provided (more than 10 miles away. So I talked to Fernando and no other options were suggested so I went ahead and took my car and went home. One very unhappy customer here!!!!! read more

I really should have read the reviews before I took my Kia here. This place is a complete SCAM!!! I got brakes on my car four months ago and now this place has told me that those same brakes are bad. The excuse that the lady gave me was that my car is "from up north" and they don't have a "history of the trucks service history"and its probably "due to the weather/snow up north". My car hasn't been up north in over two years, has never had ANY issues other than regular maintenance and my car is hardly driven around due to Covid and work from home. She said that they would not honor a warranty due to "wear and tear" I can count how often I go places that would need me to need brakes in four months. She said the converter and brakes are bad and these are the same brakes they supposedly put on. They are complete LIARS and its a shame they are taking advantage of people. I got a quote from another place and they quoted me $715 total for brakes, converters and two tires compared to Kia who quoted me almost $2500 for brakes, converter and four tires along with other unneccessary things. I now have to put on new brakes that is the fault of this place not mine but I believe that the money and service I was scammed out of God will replace for me. This place is pocketing money and not producing the work they claim nor upholding their problemmatic service. I am a believer that whats done in the dark will come to the light..believe that. My wife has a Kia Optima had always started immediately. Then 3 times in a row it would not start after being fueled. It grumbled and stalled. When it did seem to start it would stall when shifted from park. I took it to Courtesy Kia of Brandon and they replaced a crankshaft sensor (for $248.04). They also did a multi point inspection and came up with about $2,500 worth of other repairs that were needed to be addressed immediately - I let them do a few of the repairs. The first time my wife fueled the car it would not start. I then took the car to a Brandon repair shop that works with foreign car only. They found that a purge control solenoid was not working correctly and replaced it (for $97.64). The other "recommended" repairs were deemed not needed. I fueled the car and it started immediately. I should have avoided Courtesy of Brandon and saved a lot of money and the problem of the car not starting after their "repaired" - it did start after letting car sit for about 5 minutes. read more

***BEWARE IF YOU HAD A OIL CHANGE BETWEEN 8/6/20-8/17/20*** There service department is poorly ran. We got an oil change on ***8/6/20***and on 8/10 by car shuts off on the highway. A friend of the family checks the dip stick and there is barely any oil. I leave a voicemail for the manager Fernando at 11:00 a.m. to advised I believe they did not out oil on 8/6. We have the car towed in there at noon and was assigned an advisor named Jenney. I advised her it was important that we were provided a rental, she was extremely inattentive and not so pleasant. The car wasn't even diagnosed that day 8/11 and when it was diagnosed they advised that I needed a new engine and it was covered under the KIa warranty and Jenny text "engine is order and you are on loaner list"On 8/12 9:00 a.m.I leave a voicemail for Brenden the GM(still have not heard from him). I then call and talked to Fernando and advised I needed a loaner ASAP he advised to come after 2 to get one. The next morning Jenny texts me to advise"engine is order and you are on loaner list" I called and asked Jenny where I was at on that list, she said hold on let me check and advised me I was number 4 on list. I asked to be assigned a new advisor. She gave me a nice young lady named Nikki, who later I found out was not an advisory and still had to go through Jenny. On ***8/17/20*** my fiance take the loaner back because the car was ready and he asks them what was replaced and one man said the bottom of the engine, then someone else advised the whole engine block. I immediately hung up with my fiance and called Fernando 5:30 p.m. and he advised it was a re manufactured engine block,as the do not built new ones anymore. My fiance then is at Fernando door to talk about the engine. One of the service techs comes over and advised Fernando they have a BIG problem. They shut the door on my fiance and talk. When they are done he asked Fernando if that had to do with our car, he advised no. My fiance goes out to the bay and apparently they are trying to drain oil form our car. Their machine was messed up and put 10 quarts in twice. I try to call Fernando again and I was advise he left for the day. WHEN YOU ARE THE MANAGER OF A DEPARTMENT YOU DON'T LEAVE THAT DEPARTMENT WHEN THERE ARE ISSUES GOING ON WITH A CUSTOMERS CAR. YOU ARE THE MANAGER TO RESOLVE ISSUES AND MAKE SURE YOUR DEPARTMENT IS RUNNING SMOOTH. They kept my fiance there for almost 45 minutes longer as they tried to drain the oil on our car that was supposed to be ready to be picked up. My granddaughter needed to be picked up, so I called the service department and spoke to a man named Eric and begged for them to put my fiance back in the loaner. HE ADVISED ME THAT MY ADVISOR JENNY WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD DO THAT. I ADVISED I WAS GIVEN A NEW ADVISOR NIKKI BECAUSE I REQUESTED SOMEONE OTHER THAN JENNY. HE SAID NIKKI IS NOT AN ADVISOR AND THAT JENNY WAS. I AM ASSUMING THAT JENNY WAS SALTY THAT I REQUESTED A NEW ADVISOR AND MADE MY FIANCE WAIT. This place frustrates me, I came in for an oil change, I am quoted an hour for an oil change & wash, I am currently waiting it's been 1 hour and 15 minutes and still haven't gotten my car. Also when I came in today, I have two recalls on my car they said it will be a little over two hours for the recalls, well maybe if someone called and told me this I could have come in earlier to do both things. If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. Do NOT bring your vehicle here to be serviced. You'll make an appointment when your parts supposedly come in (they will call you for this appointment to be made), only to find out they aren't there the day of your appointment (after you've dropped your car off and are reassured while doing so the part is in). Then your car won't even be fixed properly bc the lack of communication at this place is the WORST and you'll possibly have something else damaged while they "fix" your vehicle. You'll also have to call to see if your vehicle is ready bc they won't call you to let you know. Just take it somewhere else if you value your vehicle. read more

I show a special on Facebook for $24.95 synthetic blend oil change. I scheduled my appointment for my Ford Focus as the add did not state it was only available for Kias. I stated on my appointment that it was for a Ford. Received a confirmation for the appointment. I would have thought that the dealership would see where I scheduled from. No mention that the promo was only for Kias and I could not take advantage. I arrive at the dealership to be told at that time, no. I have never been someplace to have any vehicle of mine serviced where it takes 2 hours to get an oil changed and tires rotated. And not until the very end when I start questioning how much longer the service will be(1 hr and 40 min at this point) do they tell me that there are services recommended. It would be nice to know in a timely manner so they can be added on. And did they text me, sure, but I'm not strapped to my phone and whatever happened to face-to-face customer service. Got my 2018 KIA Sorento a week before Thanksgiving 2017. I was charged for a cargo tray and there was a flaw in the paint in the driver side rear fender. I was told the cargo tray was ordered and when the paint guy comes in they would schedule a time to fix it. Here we are 4 and half months later, still no cargo tray and still no fix to the paint. I have tried contacting the sales manager numerous times got no responses. I guess their practice is to have bad post sales responses. read more

I drove from Maryland to Tampa for business. On the trip down, the air conditioner kept blowing out "white gas." I was nervous about seeing an "out of state" dealership! The friendly voice (on the phone) Diedre, scheduled me right in to get a diagnostic. She was patient when I showed up two hours late for the appointment, (due to Tampa traffic!) The problem was fixed quickly! The price was great! They even washed and vacummed my Sportage for me! Worst customer service I have ever had with a KIA dealership. We took our car in to fix the passenger window that stopped working and when we got it back we rolled it down to make sure all was fixed and couldn't get it back up again. The customer service tech told us "we rolled it up and down several times and it was fine" which was a lie. Then she came back and said we needed new switches which would be another $200 dollars on top of the $290 we already spent because they originally told us it was the motor. We scheduled the appt to fix the switches and double checked that both parts were in, we were assured they were. When we showed up for our appt Jenny told us that only one switch was ordered and when my husband asked if that was going to fix the window her response was "I don't know we shall see, I'll call you in a few hours". This is absolutely ridiculous and the worst customer care I have ever dealt with. RUN as fast as you can to any other dealership this place is the worst!!!! read more

Well I will give the service department kudos for sticking with it even after several failed attempts to correct the problem. Wasn't thrilled to pay for an oil change that was supposedly causing the problem only to find out it wasn't that. Dealing with auto service is never fun. So when you have to do it ...it definitely helps when the crew is efficient and speedy. I had a few scheduled maintenance items that needed to be serviced as well as getting my car detailed. I wanted to thank Courtesy Kia in Brandon for the recent service visit. I received an e-mail from our sales rep Tony Rossano and it was for follow-up service. He recommended I call Ashley Casto, the service advisor. Ashley was amazing! She looked at her appointments and said this is full but I can accommodate you at this time. I had another appointment in the area and she said "don't worry about it, we can get you there and pick you up again". Jalen and Rico were the two "valet" guys and they did a great job and were very friendly. When I got back to the Service Department, Ashley was there and told me everything was taken care of and there would be no charge. I went in for a complimentary oil change and also a tire leak which lead to the tire being replaced. She said that there was a small service package placed on the vehicle at the time of sale. The package included road hazard for tires and the replacement was no charge!!! AMAZING!!! We will be going back to Brandon Courtesy Kia even though it is over 35 miles away because of the service received and the wonderful staff. Ashley you are AWESOME! Don't believe any of those 5 star reviews. IF, you go on other review sites, you'll see the true ones like "Yelp". This dealership service department are conmen. They'll deceive you into thinking they're giving you the best deal possible, meanwhile charging you for other miscellaneous items. Especially, that guy named Jeremy that sits in the first booth right when you come in scammer! He'll tell you he got in trouble giving you a discount, but that's just a ploy to deceive you . I wish I never bought my vehicle from them , they are crooks! I'm calling the BBB for an overcharge for a hazardous fee. IF, I hadn't bought tires previously just a month before my second set I wouldn't have thought twice. He offered me a credit, and I refused as I already know that's a LIE. They won't perform the work, then I'll be driving around with no oil change, so they can save themselves some money while lying to me about services that weren't rendered. Also, they broke my TPM monitors and blamed it on the tow truck company, which never needed to drive the vehicle and didn't offer to fix it. It was them who damaged it and lied to cover it . I brought my 2017 Kia Niro in to Courtesy Kia of Brandon when my tire pressure indicator on my dashboard told me I had very low tire pressure. I knew my tires were filled w/ nitrogen. When I called Kia, the svc rep on the phone said that I should not fill up with air at a gas station, but should bring it in, so I made an appt. When I dropped off the car, I saw that there was a nail in the first tread of the tire. The svc rep at drop-off told me that the tire policy (I remembered getting when I bought the car) had expired recently. He said to renew it, I could have an oil change and tire rotation, which they could do during this appt. I said go ahead. When I came to pick up the car (close to closing time) the work had not been done yet, but a different svc rep told me I needed a new tire. I asked if it could be plugged and he said "it's on the rim". I argued that I had seen the nail and it was not on the rim, but in the first tread. He said that was too close to the weight-bearing part of the tire... Not sure if this is a lie... Anyway then I was told that my bill would be $373. I inquired again about my tire policy. He said that after you renew, you have to wait 10 days before it is in effect. He also asked me if they could put some nitrogen in it and I bring it back in the am, because the svc guys wanted to get home, and by this time it was 7pm. I asked to speak w/ a manager. No luck from manager. I was told that if I purchased the tire and found my paperwork on the tire policy, I could come in the next day for a refund... I'm not really sure what my paperwork says at this point, but it was not what I thought I was purchasing when I purchased my brand new Kia Niro. I feel like I could have put air in the tire and then went to a discount tire place to get a new tire and saved a bundle of $. Totally dissatisfied. I will not be back for service any more, and will never buy the extra stuff like a tire policy if I ever buy a car again. read more

BEWARE OF THEIR SHADY (SOMEWHAT SCAMMY) SERVICE DEPARTMENT PRACTICES!!! I am sorely disappointed in this Service Department and their practices. So much so that I have decided to drive 30 miles extra to go to another Service Department that has (so far) been honest to me. Every time I have my vehicle serviced here, inevitably, they always try to "up sell" me on other services. Of course, each of these services cost me more out of pocket. Sometimes it could be an extra $20-$30, sometimes a little bit more. But, if you think about it, if everyone that comes in gets the "up sell", these guys are making a ton of extra dough. The following are two incidents that ACTUALLY happened. When I finally caught onto their practice, I decided to see just how bad they were. I had a normal service scheduled. The day before the service, I had my engine air filter and cabin air filter changed. I showed up for my appointment and sure enough, half hour into my wait, the service advisor came to me and told me that my engine air filter and cabin air filters were filthy. Playing stupid, I asked what those were and if I can see them. Another hour passes by with hearing a word. Eventually, during check-out, the advisor said my filters didn't need to be changed. They were fine. What scam artists. Imagine if everyone "falls" for their tricks. The second notable incident occurred what I brought my vehicle in for another scheduled service appointment. During the service, I was told that a wheel boot was leaking and needed repair. It would cost $800+. I asked if it was covered under my warranty. They promptly said "no." They did say that they would price match any reputable company for the repair (which tells me they know they're over-priced). I called around and got average repairs of about $400...WOW!!! Just to be sure, I called another Kia Service Department 30 minutes out of my way. When I explained the issue, they asked me if I was sure it wasn't covered under the warranty. I scheduled an appointment with them. Sure enough, they said it WAS covered under my warranty!!! I was absolutely livid!!! Courtesy Kia has gotten my last dollar and I hope no one else falls for they tricks!! I highly recommend you go somewhere else for your service as you will be scratching your head with all the things that need "repair" every time you schedule a service check. The above was only two examples. I have had a few more of their shadiness but hopefully this is all you need to decide to not go to this Kia Service Department!!! I will be writing reviews on other sites to make sure no one else falls prey!! I contacted Kia Corporate and they are supposedly going to talk to them but I believe it's all for not. read more

I cannot speak on the sales department because I haven't dealt with them yet, however, the service department deserves to be recognized. JR and Johnny G have both shown excellent customer service when it came to me. The manager is clearly doing an excellent job making sure both his employees and the customers have a great experience. The gentleman who helped me unlock the car and get a new key for the door was courteous and professional as well, considering the amount of work they had lined up. I came in with an issue and left with big smile. This is the best place to get your car serviced, hands down. read more

I would put their service in line with my last Infiniti I owned. They have service valet's greet you upon arrival and walk you in to your service advisor. The service valets do a quick pre-check for alignment and prepare the vehicle for the service department. Very professional and customer attentive. After every service they wash, vacuum and apply tire shine to the vehicle. My car looks like a new car every time I get it back. Ashley, service advisor, is one of the best service advisors I have ever dealt with in my 40+ years of car ownership. She truly delivers an awesome experience to make your service experience flow smoothly. Very informative and her smile is "coast to coast." Their service department completes the repairs accurately and timely and I have never felt cheated or "scammed." Overall the team at Courtesy Kia is tops. One of the things that's important to me is that in the three years I've owned my two Kia's they fix all problems the first time (note I've had only three warranty issues in three years between two cars). I've never had to take a vehicle back for a rework. And every service visit they check my vehicles for any Kia recalls or service updates. I have all my preventive maintenance completed at Courtesy as well. My experience with the service and parts department of this dealership is horrendous. There seems to be no communication between departments. I'm currently going on 6 weeks to complete a task of repairing a door handle. Not once during this time has Kia contacted me to provide updates. When I call I have to then explain my issue all over even though the last person claims there are writing it down and promises to get back in touch. i have wasted 6 Saturday mornings either going to Kia or calling them just to find out either the wrong part was ordered. The part was never painted, and now that they did put on the door handle they forgot to order the sealing piece which has been another 2 weeks to get painted. I still haven't seen that part and without it the door handle can still fall off at any minute. Their lack of communication with there clients is ridiculous. In the future I'll make sure to keep any vehicle Kia or otherwise away from this dealership. Save yourself the headache and frustration.. read more

Although I was scheduled for a different date, when I spoke of how police gave me a warning about my headlight and next would be a citation, Kia of Brandon squeezed me in much earlier. When arriving, they already had the car being checked as I was signing in. Although the problem was deeper rooted, (I had already replaced the bulb and fuse, which neither seemed a problem), I was able to sit in their comfortable waiting area (only car available at the time, so I had to wait for it) with something to drink and a place to plug in and get some work done in the meantime. The repair was a warranted item and they let me know that my tires were out of alignment (which I suspected). They gave me a good price to get that done, went over the results and even washed my car. For having to get my car repaired, they certainly made it much easier. Thank heavens I didn't have to wait and get a citation for the headlight problem. read more

I purchased my car from another dealership however I made a late afternoon appt. at Courtesy Kia to receive my complimentary yr. anniversary oil change; windshield wiper and cabin air filter replacements because it was closer to my home. They also threw in a complimentary cash wash, vacuum and cleaned my windows! From the time I arrived everyone was very pleasant and friendly. I was a little disappointed that it was going to take an hour and 15 minutes for an oil change and to replace windshield wipers and cabin air filter but I took it in stride and watched ESPN on the big screen TV in their waiting area. Coffee's not very good but they also have complementary water. I was told there were a couple of recalls that needed to be taken care of and that it would take a little longer. I was surprised by the recall as I don't remember receiving any notices in the mail however I was very pleased that they were able to take care of them while I was there and I didn't have to make an appt. to go back on a later date. Over all I had a good experience and was glad I went at the end of the day and wasn't in any hurry. read more
