This was my second time here and I am not at all disappointed. We got the first all you can eat crabs special that comes with unlimited male crabs, corn, fries and coleslaw. I also purchased some steamed shrimp on the side. As DC native who usually gets crabs from the Wharf dozens at a time, the price of the crabs are not great in comparison. However, the experience is what you go for. Their crabs were meaty, the corn was sweet, and the fries were some of the best I've had. We ordered a drink and upgraded it to the bucket which we got to take home at the end. The service was impeccable! I'd average this place at 3.5 stars. It's huge and disorganized. The layout, staff and organization get a 3, which is kind. When you walk up you realize there are 2 separate buildings made into one restaurant. It's kind of confusing trying to figure out where to enter and you walk by garbage cans and kitchen stuff that looks messy. When we found the hostess she put us on the waitlist. She didn't mention we could eat at the bar if there was seating and didn't even suggest we go and hang out while we waited. We asked if there was a bar and she gave us some vague directions that were confusing and said there was a bar in either building. Kind of strange that bars weren't on the ground floors for people to have a drink while they are waiting for their table. It took several wrong turns before we found the bar. No signs up with directions or help from employees. Once we found it we were told we could eat there so we decided to do that and not have to wait. The bartender was pretty busy but he seemed like he didn't care much about helping anyone. It took several requests to get waters with our drinks and when the food came neither he nor the food runner brought us plates, napkins, silverware or asked if we needed anything else. We had to ask for each item individually so it was annoying to keep waiting while our food was getting cold. The food was not bad, we gave it a 4. However, we only had the steamed spiced shrimp and old bay seasoned fries. We chose this place because they had seared scallops and steamed shrimp. We were sad to find out that they were out of scallops so we opted for the shrimp only. The shrimp was tasty and fresh but slightly over cooked and came out a bit cold. It had definitely sat there for awhile before it was brought up. I ordered a creamsicle crush. The bartender did make it very well. Tasted just like a creamsicle. Went to Crab Bag in Ocean City MD last night,Reggiano oysters... my favorite for many years... $60.00 a dozen.. I think they were under &40 last year (STILL HIGH.. just like the owners)... $5.00 an oyster... keeping up with the hotel pricing..usually juicy and served with bread to dip in the sauce after you've eaten the oyster. No juice and apparently a reason for no bread (which didn't come with the oysters) I will never, ever walk in that restaurant again. Server was very unapologetic and received my not so standard 20% tip. I didn't want anything for free, just a little acknowledgment that it was not up to standard. I would avoid it with everything you've got. Also, it's my understanding that their crabs come from mostly Louisiana, not local ... must be somewhat accurate as they are open year-round. For those of you who might want to defend this, don't bother you have nothing to stand on! Also, was in Easton two years ago. I have the recipe for those oysters if anybody wants it. I have loved the Crab Bag for over 15 years. That all changed this past weekend. Upon arrival to put our name in on Saturday night (5/24/25) we were told 2 hour wait from an unpleasant greeter. I asked her why such a long wait when I see a lot of empty tables and she said the kitchen is backed up. So we left and gave them the benefit of the doubt on a busy Memorial Day weekend night. We went back to try again on Sunday early evening (5/25/25). This time we were told 1 hour wait so we waited and I went to the main bar to get drinks. I couldn't believe that one bartender was running the whole main bar. Back in the day there was 3 or 4 on a busy weekend night. I finally got service and saw the poor bartender in the weeds doing it all from running food to doing service bar to taking care of his bar patrons. The bar was trashed with empties and trash everywhere . Later during our wait I checked in with hostess and she said the kitchen is behind again as I witnessed at least 7 unbussed empty tables and skews of clean empty tables. She had an attitude and clearly was stressed by all the people now on her about the wait. She is the first person you see and should be nicer and accommodating. I went to search for another drink while waiting and tried all 3 bars to find all were worked by only 1 bartender. When I ordered 2 beers at the upstairs bar the bartender squawked at me asking who the other beer is for. I pointed to my girlfriend next to me and the bartender gave me a sneer. Wtf. Is everyone working tonight pissed off at the Crab Bag? Finally we got sat and the $100/dozen crabs were crap. They were light and wet and not worth the time. Such a disappointment. Our waitress went awol most of the night. My how times have changed the crab bag. Lastly, I noticed that all the food comes out of the carry out building and is hauled through the crowd into the restaurant. Will never return here. Called in crabs at 5:30 that were to be ready at 8. Got there at 8, waited 45 minute for our name to be called (Fair enough, memorial day weekend). They call our name, my girlfriend goes to pick up the order (Covid 19 times). She then had to wait an additional 45 minutes. Order came out, crabs were cold. Went back into mention this to the cashier and they made excuses like "maybe you missed it when we called your name." We definitely didn't. We were there for an hour and half only to recieve cold "medium-large" crabs that had NO seasoning. Don't believe me? Look at the picture. If you want a very long wait, food that is expensive and NOT tasty, and terrible customer service eat here. I was visiting my old summer stomping grounds for the first time in decades and my host suggested we take a walk down Coastal Hwy. We could stop in at one of his favorite places. The walk was about 2 miles and we were hot and ready for a tasty lunch when our party of 5 arrived. We were happy to be seated immediately upstairs at a table with a view of the "strip." We ordered drinks, which were served promptly. The cocktail, a coconut and key lime something, was very tasty. And only 20 minutes into the 2+ hour ordeal we were finished with ANYTHING positive about our lunch service. It was a bit before the waiter took our food order. After an hour of chatting, we had watched people be seated and receive food while our waiter remained remarkably absent. We finally got his attention and he quickly apologized for the wait, saying he would check on our food immediately. He arrived back at our table with two crab cake sandwiches, but not the other plates, which would take several more minutes to arrive - cold. There are two good things I can say about the $27 crab cake sandwiches; they were served hot and they contained chunks of lump crab. The only accompaniment to the bun and the crab cake were a snack bag of potato chips, a terrible looking slice of tomato (during tomato season), and some rather tasteless tartar sauce. There was no lettuce on the sandwich as the menu had indicated. The crab cake was way under seasoned and stingy in size. It was certainly not worth either the wait or the price tag. When the other plates arrived, an order of loaded fries and two rib platters, the food was not hot. It was clear the plates had been sitting for some time. My host was disappointed and embarrassed. He asked to speak to a manager. When she arrived she was defensive, unpleasant, and unwilling to admit that the food on our table was poorly served. She told us she had seen the orders come out of the oven to be immediately delivered to us. In the end, she comped the 3 non-crab cake meals and allowed the ribs to be packed up to take with us. Later, back at our condo, my host reheated his food in the microwave. His assessment was that it wasn't worth the trouble to put in a box and carry home. My assessment: with so many other places to eat crabs very nearby, there is no way I would ever go back to this place. read more

I took my dad for his 70th bday to the Crab Bag in OCMD for our first time. We did the all you can eat crabs (which comes with fries and corn too). We were pleased to see that we got on average medium/large crabs and the price was great ($50 per person). We spent over two hours just talking and eating over 40 crabs and we were never rushed to leave. I will say that we got a couple that were pretty watery and not that meaty, but the percentage was low. I would recommend getting there before 6pm not just to beat the rush, but I felt the crab selection was better when we first got there compared to by the time we left. read more

Crab Bag is my family's go-to spot for ALL YOU CAN EAT CRABS. We've been coming here for years and yes their AYCE offerings have changed through the years but their old bay seasoned crabs still remain consistently delicious. I recommend crabs towards the end of summer into fall when they start fattening up. They serve the crabs HOT and coated in old bay and then dumped onto your table to enjoy. Today, they have 3 AYCE options: #1 - Crabs, corn, cole slaw, fries $45 #2 - Crabs, corn, cole slow, fries, fried chicken $47 #3 - Crabs, corn, cole slaw, fries, friend chicken, baby back ribs, steamed spiced shrimp $50 Crabs are the stars of the show, but when you need a break the fried chicken and shrimp are very good as well. If you are doing AYCE, be prepared to spend at least 2 hrs straight pealing and working hard for that crab meat. It is worth it, if you love crabs. This place can get very crowded so come early to avoid the long wait. They do not take reservations. Service is friendly and checks in when you want to order more crabs and other items. Food comes out fairly fast. This place does not provide bibs or buckets for the shells, so don't come here wearing anything fancy. You will probably want to take a shower when you get home and you won't be able to avoid the Old Bay smell on your hands for days. read more

But we didn't notice the actual building sitting behind the big restaurant part of the building that was road side. Another couple had the same issue. Anyway, we walk in to order, and recite some menu items from the menus sitting open at the order window, and this woman started saying we can't order that food and came around and grabbed the menus from us. She left one there and said order from this one. The restaurant is closed but you can order from the kitchen here. So, I asked for flounder basket and she snaps, nope, that's the restaurant menu. WTF, you just told us to use it. So I said, well I'm good, I have PB&J at the condo. She said, no, just order this side of the menu. We looked at it a bit and I got a crabcake with mac salad and coleslaw. :( Kids got chicken parts and wings, their dad ordered a dozen crabs. We ran it home and dug in. Everything tasted ok. Not what I wanted originally, but nothing I could do about that. Crab cake was good enough. But I didn't get that great authentic MD Crabcake seasoning. $26 for crabcake that didn't blow my mind. *later in the week I noticed on Fri they're open until 0200. Oh well. This place is huge. We ordered carryout here, and there's a whole separate carryout building in the back. This place is a bit pricey. The portion doesn't seem huge but we did love how everything tasted fresh and clean. I'm always afraid to order clams or mussels at restaurants just because sometimes they don't wash it thoroughly, and you can still taste the sandiness. The clams and mussels here were very well cleaned. The shrimp could have been cleaned a little better but we're still pretty fresh, and well cooked. We ordered the $65 steam pot with crab legs, corn, potatoes, shrimp, clams and mussels. It was all very good, and just enough for two people to share. We also ordered a Maryland crab chowder (cream) which was thick and flavorful. This may not be our "go-to" place but will probably order from here again! read more
