We then ordered half a dozen of XL, which wasn't much of a noticeable difference, but better. The crab meat itself was VERY GOOD, sweet, and fresh tasting, so that was the savior of the night. You could tell that it was brought to the table AS SOON AS they were finished steaming. Nice, fresh, and HOT! In the best way. We just had some beers and crushes, which were all good. Pretty disappointing. When we arrived we were seated and not acknowledged for 15 mins atleast. They were busy and I understand that but atleast acknowledge you know we're there. While in OC we decided to get our first taste of blue crabs for the year. We were not disappointed! The wait was long, but not as long as we were told it would be. We ordered one dozen of the extra large crabs and they were meaty and delicious. I normally eat at least eight crabs in one sitting, but these were so meaty that I was full after four crabs. My only complaint was the seasoning was too salty. I like to chew on the legs, but couldn't for fear of raising my blood pressure. I will definitely return on my next OC trip. read more

My family and I went for the crab legs and we were not disappointed! I never eat all of my food but this time I did because it was so good! So me and my family of 10 went to the crab bag while we were on Vacation. We expected good crab sense the parking lot was full of cars. We got ok early and it took forever for the food which is understandable sense we are a family of 10 . But we got our food and my grandfather miss spoke about what he would wanted but the clams weren't even done half of it came out raw. A different color than my first one at Green Turtle restaurant but just as tasty! FOOD: Maryland Crab Soup - $12.95 Similar in looks and taste to a chunky minestrone with crab meat. Very nice and light. Also available as a chowder and mix of the two styles. Rockfish / Crab Imperial - $39.95 Imperial is a mayo-based, creamy sauce. The rockfish filet was split open like a sub sandwich with pieces of crab imperial dropped inside. The rockfish was a bit over cooked and dry. The imperial sauce overpowered the natural flavor of the crab, so it tasted like a softer type of fish on top of fish. Asparagus spears were discolored and cooked to death, a mix of soggy and dry. Roasted potatoes and half a corn on the cob were alright. Pass. Hot Steamed Crabs (dozen) A brown paper bag of hot crab gets dumped on the table, caked with too much Old Bay seasoning. No problem, just shake it off like Ms. Swift. I'm not a fan of blue crab as their legs are so thin. But, I did enjoy their claws and body sections as they had a fair amount of soft meat inside. Another paper bag got placed on the floor for shell discarding. Super Steamer Platter - $69.00 The spouse's dish came with two clusters of snow crab legs (AKA a whole crab halved, LOL), half a pound of shrimp, a pound of mussels, corn on the cobs and potatoes in a butter-based broth. He doesn't like mussels but wasn't able to substitute it. I had some snow crab which was good and steamed perfectly. SERVICE: Our male server was terrific! So friendly, down to earth and on top of everything. Thanks!! TIP: Bring your own sanitizing hand wipes as the men's restrooms were out of soap. So gross! This is our top crab restaurant and the one we come to frequently year round. Crabs are a good size and our service is prompt. Sometimes we just make a meal of appetizers. We used to get AUCE but now buy our crabs by the dozen as we like the Jumbo crabs. There are lots of options for meals that have always been good, as well. We came here around 12 PM and it wasn't too packed. However, they were short staffed and the staff that were available were communicative and did their best to accommodate us. The manager had seated us and even took our order which was nice knowing he was doing his best to support his team and also provide quality customer service. We started with drinks - Creamsicle Crush and Crab Bag Bloody Mary. We opted for the half dozen oysters which were so good and fresh. We also decided to get the Snow Crab Legs Pot which came with potatoes corn and 4 pieces of snow crab clusters. We got the dozen Large crabs which were all male and seasoned with Old Bay. All the food came out promptly as well as our side of fries which was nice complement to the seafood. It was more than enough food for the both of us. I will mention that some of the large crabs had a bit more meat than others but otherwise everything came out fresh. I would recommend anyone whose open to splurging on some crabs at a dine in place, check them out. Also note that they charge a 2% surcharge on top of the final bill to keep their restaurant in business. First time at Crab Bag after finding Fenwick Crab House closed. I ordered the XL crabs ahead of time to hold which was great to be able to do. They were heavy, hot and delicious! Just what we had hoped for. The service was very attentive. We asked to be seated at a table with chairs instead of sitting on picnic benches at 90 yrs old. Getting to the entrance was a bit iffy for anyone using a walker. There may have been an easier way to get there from the parking lot...I don't know. The hush puppies came with powdered sugar on them...would ask to have them plain next time. The unhusked ears of corn were good but messy to open to eat. Wouldn't buy them next time. We came for crabs after a long full day at the beach. We ordered some ribs, corn, xl crabs, and shrimp steamer. Never get the steamer- the corn in there was not tasty at all, shrimp over cooked, and the potatoes where not great. The ribs were okay, but dry. The only thing I'd come back here for are the crabs. Oh my goodness, the crabs were perfectly seasoned with old bay. The size and texture of the xl crabs were great. We did get a dead one, but they replaced them with 3 large crabs and we're glad we ordered the xl's because it was a lot of work for little meat. Losing points on here because their bathroom was absolutely disgusting. No toilet paper, no towels, come on... you're going to wash your hands after eating crabs. Ended up calling best crabs and ordering there for 2/3 of the price. Didn't get call back but my husband left to take them back while picking up our new crabs. I ordered the twin chicken breast with the jerk style sauce on it. As sides I got the green beans and macaroni salad. The whole meal was delicious. The jerk sauce was a bit spicy but not too overwhelming. The server we had was very attentive and made sure our drinks and waters were filled the entire time. We sat in the inside bar area at a table which was nice because they have several TVs. I also played Keno while we were there. not like years past, the service was good but the food was disappointing. my wife got the 2 cluster crab leg steamer pot which came with corn onions potato's and 2 of the smallest sadist clusters of snow crabs I have ever seen, my daughter got the fried scallops which was 6 scallops and a mountain of French fries. I got the fish and chips which was one large fish piece and a mountain of fries. we also got the calamari app. with 2 teas and a soda it was 145 bucks before tip. definitely not a good bang for your buck. We came here on a recommendation for good crab, but were very disappointed. My daughter LOVES seafood and she said it was the worst she has ever eaten, and didn't even want to finish the meal. I got a meal that included a lobster tail and it was like chewing on an eraser. It was so rubbery and overcooked. The only positive was the server. She was so nice and took the time to show my daughter how to break open the crab. The service was great, but the food was so bad, so I would definitely NOT recommend this place.
