I have been eyeing this place for quite a bit. I tried to go with my parents one night, and it was completely packed. And on our way out, a security guy showed up... it gets like that huh? Anyways, I returned the next day during the afternoon... it was right after brunch ended, and would you believe it was still full in there? That place is tight! I was on the way to a friend's house and I was early, so I decided to make a stop for food. I literally got the last seat at the bar, where I received a menu fairly quickly. I decided to try a crab quesadilla and the crab bisque to go, while I sipped on a margarita (in honor of the day, of course). They didn't have any special deals for the day -- they don't even have margaritas on the menu (that I saw lol), but they were able to make one. It was quite delicious! I received my food in a reasonable time, and then I headed to my friend's. I absolutely loved the quesadilla... hefty and delicious. I even dipped it in the crab bisque -- which was supposed to come with a butter roll that was nowhere to be found :(. If I didn't have the quesadilla I would've been unhappy, but it was fine... but come on haha. I plan to return soon -- but seriously it's TIGHT in there. Be wary if you have a large party. read more

The appetizers were a great start: the seafood spring rolls and crab & shrimp spinach dip were flavorful and well-executed. The pasta was delicious--rich sauce, generous seafood, perfectly cooked. The menu really showcased how versatile the place is. (And yes, they do have amazing crab-centric items too for next time.) Stopped in on a Saturday evening as we were staying at a nearby hotel. Immediately got 2 seats at the lovely bar area. Restaurant is small and very nicely decorated. Had a delicious glass of their house cab and ordered several apps to share. They were delivered to us one at a time so we could enjoy each one as it was hot from the kitchen. They were perfectly cooked and delicious. We had the seafood spring rolls, the crab puffs and the blackened scallops. I would highly recommend all of them. Music was a bit loud at the bar area for my taste but not loud enough to distract from a wonderful experience. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely eat here again read more

I had the Colossal Stuffed Shrimp with double broccolini because they were out of mashed potatoes. For my drink I got the Triple B which was also very good. They opened recently and the place is small so I HIGHLY recommend a reservation or waiting until it dies down as people were being turned away because it was so packed! Per the name, seafood is the charm. Located within Ritchie Marketplace, this venue pairs grown n sexy (neutral decor and 90s rnb).....with delicious food and attentive service. I ordered a fried shrimp basket with substituted broccolini , instead of fries and my drink was a Sunset Beach (similar to a tequila sunrise). Minus somewhat of a wait to receive service, the experience was pleasant . The shrimp was seasoned well and seemed to be fried in fresh grease , which provided a light crunch. I arrived at Crab Cab and took a seat at the outside bar. I waited there for over 15 minutes before Imahn, the guy with twisted cornrows, approached me--not to take my order but to ask if he could have my menu for another customer. I politely declined, but mentioned that he could take my order since I had been waiting for so long. He then took my order, which included a happy hour blueberry margarita, seafood spring rolls, crab sliders, and a to-go order of seafood quesadillas. Ten minutes later, I received my spring rolls, and five minutes after that, the sliders arrived. However, at that point, I still hadn't received a place setting, which should have been provided as soon as I sat down at the bar. Fifteen minutes later, I finally got my drink--30 minutes after placing my order--and during all this time, no one checked in to see if I was okay or needed anything. After waiting 45 minutes from when I initially placed my order, I asked Imahn about my to-go order. He went to the register to check and then walked back to the kitchen. After a few minutes, he returned, and I inquired about my food. He explained that the kitchen was backed up due to a high volume of orders. I asked why that was the case, as I thought my order had been submitted at the same time as my other food. He paused and then claimed that he hadn't put it in yet. Essentially, he lied to me. Fifteen minutes later, he finally brought out my food, but I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for a printed receipt. At this point, I am beyond disappointed. It's disheartening to feel that I need to travel to Virginia or far from PG County to receive decent customer service. It seems that when restaurants include a tip in the bill, servers feel they don't need to provide good service. For this reason, Crab Cab will not be seeing me--or my money--again! read more

To start, i had great service, there was no wait, and the atmosphere was nice even with it being small. So im not writing this mad or whatever like that. Everything we had was bland AF. No flavor starting with the mac & cheese. Me and my group literally looked at each, all having different food palettes ( some of us more picky or more adventurous than others) and we ALL felt like it was def no seasoning in it. Just noodles, cheese, and a lot of oil at the bottom. Then the salmon. Straight up box salmon! Like I know i had this same semi-lemon flavored salmon from from Aldis. It also didnt have any flavor and it did not taste fresh. Also the charbroiled marks on it are also not real. This is not just coming from me. We didn't even want to take the rest of our food home. The only thing that was OK was the seafood rolls and another person said the greens were OK. With the prices they charge here, there are def other places in the DMV where we have left feeling like we got our money's worth. They also charge a 18% gratuity up front but this my thing, you gotta take the gratuity up front because you know people won't leave you much tip any way else. Tips should be earned. The restaurant appeared to be over capacity. The two women at the hostess stand faces were frowned up and rolling their eyes at everyone entering. I let them know I had a reservation and was told "oh well we ain't got not tables right now". I said even though I have a reservation. She replied "Yeah everyone in here had a reservation for either 6:30 or 7:30. If you want your reservation the wait is 45 mins". Totally unacceptable. I cancelled my reservation and went elsewhere. I'm torn. A buddy and I went on a Friday evening out of curiosity and hunger. The space is nice. Both great for the fellas to congregate at the bar or to sit and enjoy a night out. The music is an added bonus. Kudos to the cook. The food presentation was dope and it tasted good. We ordered the seafood egg-rolls for an app, then the catfish and the stackanator dinners. Both delicious (but the crab cake was pretty small for the oversized bun). I did appreciate the cook checking on us more than once. The challenge was that our waitress seemed great at first. However, multiple times we looked up and she was seated with other customers which led us to have to either wait or ask someone else for assistance. The two tables beside us seemed to encounter the same issue. One table actually did not like any of their food. At one point, the manager assisted us because he could see that our waitress was not attentive. Then in another moment, the chef and the waitress approached the table at the same time. The waitress started a convo with the table next to us which forced the chef to help us. The biggest issue is that no one seemed bothered by her lack of service and it was never corrected. I went to try this place last night and LOVED IT!! The service was great, friendly and fast. Our server Britt gave us great recommendations on what to try when we couldn't decide. The ambiance of the restaurant was very inviting! Had us feeling as if we were in tulum And the playlist was amazinggggg. I had the shrimp and crab spinach dip for an appetizer and the shrimp basket for my entree. Probably the best fried shrimp I've had in a while. It was seasoned well and was not salty (I despise the taste of salt). My only recommendation for those going is to get a reservation!!! They sure enough lied about them "seasoned fries".. wasn't not a lick of any seasoning on them bland potato sticks..I even asked the bartender if these were the "seasoned" fries, she told me "yes, they're seasoned." The restaurant has a nice vibe, but it is quite small inside. The drinks are pretty pricy. Our waitress was very nice; however, it took awhile to bring out waters and we had a few mixups with drinks. I had a good experience overall until the end when a manager or owner rushed us off the table. I understand the need to flip tables especially for incoming reservations, but there is a way to communicate that to customers without coming off rude and rushing us out. She could have alerted us of the time limit when we initially sat down or gave us a 15min heads up before we had to get up. Hubby and I were looking for somewhere local to eat for a quick and casual date night. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the hostess who asked if we had a reservation. We informed her that we did not, however, she was still able to seat us in less than 5 minutes. For a Friday night, that was a plus! Once seated, it took about 10-15 minutes for anyone to come and offer us water and take our drink orders. I ordered a mango lemonade, and it was honestly way too sweet. I didn't even finish it. We skipped appetizers, and for our main courses, I ordered The Stacker which is a no filler crab cake, with 2 sides. I chose broccolini and mashed potatoes as my sides. The potatoes were good, but the broccolini was undercooked and unseasoned. The crab cake itself looked good, but was entirely too salty, and was difficult to enjoy given the amount of crab shells in it. My husband ordered a medium rare ribeye steak with a double portion of broccolini. Instead, he received mashed potatoes with his order, and his steak was undercooked and more on the rare side. Luckily, he didn't mind, but other patrons may. The wait staff was semi-attentive. Our waitress checked on us periodically and asked if we wanted more water, but when we said yes, the water never came. Service is veryyy slow, so if you're in a hurry or just don't feel like waiting, I would try somewhere else, or go on a less busy night. We also both noticed that the owner (or manager) looked displeased the entire time. She was an older woman, and every time we saw her, she had a scowl on her face. The space is very small, but we loved the decor. Overall, I don't think that I would return to try other menu items. Service was very lackluster, and the food wasn't that good.
