The BBQ taste and portion sizes are what you'd expect from any Sonny's. While it's not groundbreaking BBQ, it's consistently decent. They often have better deals than Bono's nearby. Arrived to eat lunch always excellent service until Jody the nasty manager/cook arrived to the counter with was supposed to be my chicken breast in his hand. Bad customer service. I'm not a dog. Ordered half chicken, thigh had blood pool on top of skin. Asked for replacement and of course Nasty Jody though he was smarter than a 5th grader took the thigh and tried to re gift the same piece. Food came out very fast and tasted Great. Service on the other hand was a joke. It took forever because the hostess was in bathroom and no matter how many people we waiting for tables nobody would help. When she came out of bathroom she had to clean tables before she could seat people. She would clean one table then seat someone. Then clean another and seat someone. When we were seated it took us another 9 minutes for server to come take our drink order. We asked to order food at same time. It is obvious who are regulars as they get much more attention than people who only go every couple of weeks. The waitress didn't bring us our food, and came one time to check on us when we were almost done after she finished talking with her friends or regulars. I had to ask for the bill when we were done so we could leave. I asked for to go cup as I only drank 1/4 of my teas. She asked if I wanted unsweetened tea in the bottom so it would be full. I thought she was making up for poor service. She brought it and I poured my teas in. Did not taste until I was miles away to find she put root beer in the cup not the unsweetened tea she said she did. They don't mix. The servers do not help the hostess clean their tables. They also do not appear to help each other. This Sonny's used to have great service, but now it is the worse Sonny's except for the one on South Apopka Vineland Road in Orlando near Disney Springs. I liked it better when servers worked for tips. If you go to this Sonny's for great food take it home. Do not there or you will get bad service. We wanted a bbq salad all day so we stop by this location through the drive-thru and ordered 2 pull pork salads. What we received was a bunch of lettuce and crunchy onions things. My husband and I went to this location for dinner on a Monday night and attended to use the Nurses Week promotion. The deal was a great deal. Their Monday deal is also an amazing deal. The deal we purchased was 1 pulled pork sandwich, a side and a drink for free in addition to another meal. In order to get this deal you did have to be verified, which was an easy process. The waiter helped us with ordering which made that part of the process easier as sometimes we get overwhelmed. The waiter was overall good. She occasionally was unable to be found a couple of times when we needed her. The dinner was great. All I ordered was a turkey sandwich ($13!) but sat in car starving for 30 minutes until I finally went inside to cancel my order, that's when they decided to make my order. I'm willing to give this place a second chance because I've made the mistake of ordering through Uber, and the food quality was absolutely awful! The chopped brisket was just a handful of fat with no lean meat whatsoever. The paper on the bottom was just pooling with the oil from all the fat sitting in the box. The 2 white meats looked so unappetizing and just "thrown" into the box with no care to presentation. I've had fast food delivered that didn't look nearly as bad as this box did. I never have had a bad experience at an Sonnys so I did not feel the need to check my order before driving away. When. I got back to work I was so excited to dig into my ribs. When I opened the box and found nothing what I ordered. I called and they said I could back whoever I wanted and get the correct order. Sonny's is the best national chain for barbecue. I have eaten in the original Sonny's in Gainesville, FL a couple of times. Excellent ribs and very good barbecue pork, etc. There are individual barbecues or small chains that might be better, but if you don't know of a better local barbecue or when on the road, this is the place for barbecue. read more
