Went for dinner last night. Was seated promptly and they were a little busy. Our server was uninterested in our table. Mom and dad with one kid, how bad could it have been to wait on us. 8 mins later she took our drink orders, and our food orders at the same time. Food finally came out and no biscuits. Asked about them and for them next. Was told biscuits come out with the meal. Not a problem. But the table behind us got theirs first and received excellent service. We however felt very rushed. She was not in a good mood. But every other server that walked past us had a smile on their face. It's not good business to drop off a check when you drop off the food. This is our occasional breakfast place when we are running around on Saturday mornings, really only because it's our only option besides fast food. And it's hard to do low cal/low carb at a fast food place. CB does have a 'low carb' menu, I'll give them that (though no nutritional info on their website, so it's hard to tell how truthful they are). Anyway, service is hit or miss; sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. I do like the ambiance and the store, but that's about it. Breakfast is always just mediocre. The coffee is almost always weak. We would just run home and make ourselves a much, much better breakfast, but sometimes you just want to sit down and be served a nice meal and not have to deal with the dishes, aimiright? Why is there not a nice cafe in West Mobile that does breakfast? Sure we could drive all the way over to Spot of Tea, the Tiny Diny, etc; but that would be way out of our way. Anyone? Over packed, worst food I've had in a long time. What ever you do don't get Hershel's breakfast. It was uneatable. Literally couldn't chew ham. When we complained I got a loooong speech on this is how people like it. It was obviously old tasted Britney and really uneatable. I've had better tasting jerky. Worst breakfast ever!!!!!!!!! went in there on Saturday, June 16 to have breakfast with my sister we were seated promptly wonderful server I can't remember her name we both ordered eggs over medium, turkey sausage, and toast. when the food arrived the eggs were cold we sent them back while we were waiting on a new order of eggs to be cooked we taste of our sausage it was Stone cold. She brought A new order of eggs for both of us I could tell the minute she set the eggs down that they were not cooked I took my fork and pull back the white of the egg inside it was all clear runny white of eggs We were charge for coffee and sausage. I just ordered the sampler to go when I got home to open up my meal for him was very tough overcooked and dry the meatloaf was very dry overcooked the big potatoes were not bad however the gravy was probably 1 tablespoon full of gravy they could've made the whole meal taste a lot better and had to add another cup of gravy to the mix so I could've drowned the bad food and gravy the boat the muffin and a quarter bed we're very dry and jokey also said to give seven such a bad Rubit review but I'm very disappointed read more

Always have consistently good food, but they must have been a little short handed with their servers on this visit. Came in about 10:45am for a late breakfast, but had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. There was one whole section of the restaurant that wasn't being used, so I assumed that they didn't have enough coverage. Most Cracker Barrel's are a lot alike, which is good because you know what to expect, but the staff at this one is just extra friendly. Maybe it's because it's in town and not by an interstate, so the customers are more locals then travelers just passing through. They were quite crowded but we were seated and served drinks quickly. We were served plenty of biscuits and cornbread too. I regret that I was so involved in the conversation that I didn't get a picture of my food, especially because it was beautiful. From the wholesome fixins menu I ordered the Apple Cider BBQ chicken breast which comes topped with an apple and cranberry chutney. It was beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend you try it!!! The Farmers decided this year to take a break from all the cooking and preparing a big dinner for Thanksgiving Day due to the lack of participation and everyone either vacationing or working. The decision where to eat Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day was between Cracker Barrel and Golden Corral, so the decision was made and Cracker Barrel was the winner for the day. Mr. Farmer and his spouse Teresa visited the Cracker Barrel Restaurant located at 845 Schillenger Road in west Mobile, the Cracker Barrel Restaurant was one of many restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day 11/22/12. The Farmer family pulled into the Cracker Barrel Restaurant parking lot around 10:50AM to find most of the parking spots filled but lucked up as someone was backing up to leave the restaurant. Mr. Farmer quickly turned into the parking spot and the Farmer couple, got out of the car, locked the doors, and went inside the Cracker Barrel to place their name on the waiting list. The wait wasn't as long as expected because just in 20 minutes and the Farmer couple was being seated at a table for four just in case two relatives of the Farmers decided to show up. As soon as Mr. Farmer and his wife Teresa were seated the couple was greeted by a waitress to take their order from the menu. The decision of what both of the couple were going to order was easy and of course they ordered off the Thankgiving Menu . In true professional fashion, after writing to the management of Cracker Barrel, they went above and beyond to correct the mishap. I appreciate the above approach the company responded with. On the 2 visits since the previous encounter, the staff appears to be more attentive to the details that matter most. The management appear to be more hands on, and involved with all the customers, and the wait staff are improved to the level you would expect, or even more. The food was very good and they are not stingy with their portions at all! if you're hungry do not worry about if they'll give you enough food or not because the portions are big! I was in town for weekend and decided to go to this restaurant, I ordered the French dip with au jus, and I was not pleased. Our food started to come out but only half of my groups food had come out, and they were still making the others food. So after I had waited 15 minutes my food finally came out, when I got my food I only got half of the sandwich because they ran out of meat. So my waiter said that she would bring me some chicken tenders and honey mustard. When I got the chicken tenders I only got one large piece and 2 small pieces and the honey mustards was very vinegar tasting. I was not pleased with the service and I don't believe that they were equipped to handle a larger group. read more

Yesterday I was enjoying a very late breakfast when an attractive manager approached my table. She inquired as to my satisfaction with my meal and invited me to stay for lunch, as well. I have been to this Cracker Barrel restaurant many times and there have been a few times where the food was not done as requested and there have been a couple of times we had inattentive or rude wait staff just like anywhere but this was rare. Overall the service and food would earn 5 stars. The times I did have a problem and let the manager know everything was made right. The food is hot tasty and there is lots of it. The reason for the five stars however is the staff last night. The manager actually participated in being sure that our party of 6 was served properly. The waitresses double teamed and we were made to feel welcome. Wow.....this is after we left one place which was half empty but devoid of staff (Chilis) and another (O'Charleys) because it too was obviously in the throws of shutting down with tables uncleared, staff milling about, and a very low health rating on the wall. The problem was that we were not near closing time and this was Saturday night. I guess the epidemic of closures continues with Zea's, Applebees, Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill now extending to other restaurants as well. Crackerbarrel last night was excellent and I guess we should have chosen it first. If they continue with the experience we had last night.... they will do fine although I really think they need to upgrade their gift shop from flea market to a place you could actually find something worth buying. Every single time me and my family come to this location our service is shit. Been waiting :30-:45 for coffee and water. I don't understand what's so hard about it. My girlfriend is a waitress and can serve 10+ tables at once and not even write down people's orders and get it right! I like coming here but the service is pushing us away. read more

This is a regular breakfast and lunch spot for me and they're always consistent and fast :) although it is a lot of comfort food (which is delicious) they also offer a lot of lighter options for when you're trying to feel healthy. read more
