However, this location on The Nature Coast in Spring Hill, Florida is the WORST dining experience I have had in a long time. The service was not what I expected, having been a long time patron at other locations. As if nobody cared that I sat there as long as I did. Honestly my husband and I eat here frequently but we get it to go. We've never had a problem until tonight. My husband after a long day as a frontline worker stopped for an order we placed at 5:30 to be ready at 7:15. He got there early and called as directed. They said they'd be right out. 20 minutes later he called back in and they said they were waiting on "pieces" of the order. Another 20 minutes passes and nothing. He went in and expressed his concerns and no one knew where our order was. The manager had the entire meal remade and made it complementary for the inconvenience. We've always had great service and appreciate their hard work, mistakes happen the most important thing is to try to make them right, which they did. I'd highly recommend this location! read more

Food was great! Fast service, the whole nine yards! Only thing is I saw a retail employee talk down to her coworkers. I believe her name was Erin. She was bossing around a cashier and threatening a write up when her coworker spoke up and told her she's not a manager and can't do that. Then a young girl came around the corner to bring up take out meals from the back. "Erin" then criticized her for the way she walked. You could tell she was walking like that because she was in pain but she had no remorse!Absolutely disgusted by this. I would have put 5 stars if I didn't see that! read more

I love Cracker Barrel and we try to stop whenever we travel and it's lunch time. One of the biggest reasons I stop is because you can order breakfast anytime of the day. My favorite thing to order is The Uncle Hershall. It has a huge piece of country ham, along with eggs, grits, apples, hash browns, saw mill gravy and hot biscuits. I don't usually leave reviews but this experience deserved a YELP application download Arrived with some friends just a little before 9:00 am on Labor Day. Had my coffee and ordered my food by 9:10. An omelette Cancelled my food order at 10:00 am. Watched as others got seated and fed before us. Also watched as the manager specifically avoided coming near our table the entires time. The others got thier food at 10:15. Free coffee? Nope, we had to pay for it. Including mine. And the manager NEVER made contact with us. Will NEVER be back. read more

The Cracker Barrel, Commerce Way, Spring Hill, FL was extremely disappointing. Although the haddock meal was wonderful, we were quite concerned about the seating in the dining room. Granted, the servers were wearing masks, BUT, customers were seated extremely close to one another. There was no spacing between tables, nor empty tables between ones with patrons. When we arrived & were seated, there were empty tables, but after we were served our meals, ALL tables were filled. People were seated behind us that were so close the backs of our chairs were against each other. The restaurant was completely filled and there was a line waiting to be seated when we left. My lunch was as usual. However, service was sub par.I was surprised by this actually. Cracker Barrel staff are usually one of the better trained franchise staff there is. Our waiter slammed our drinks down on the table, ran off and disappeared for a good long while. Surprising and comforting! Eating here was a spur of a moment decision...we hadn't eaten at one of these in ten years and I kind of wanted to go back. I'm pretty glad I did! First off, the restaurant was really clean and the service was great! Our waitress was really friendly, and all of the other staff we interacted with were nice. I ordered the "signature" chicken and dumplings. Both the chicken and dumplings were really tender and delicious. It also wasn't too salty which was great. The fried okra was pretty good but nothing *amazing*. The mac n cheese was also good. I enjoyed the turnip greens which were strangely meaty but good. Others in our party also got the campfire dinner and the southern trout. Both of those were really good and I was surprised how fresh and tasty the trout was! The usual biscuits and corn muffins were yummy as well. So, yeah. It's a Cracker Barrel. It's not like they're cranking out some gourmet cuisine or anything, you know? But every once in a while, if you grew up with a grandma in southern Mississippi like I did, you just want some dumplings. Or some not-dry cornbread that's also not-sweet (sacrilege!). Or some fried okra. Or some biscuits with apple butter. Or some amazing carrots. Basically? You want a taste of "home" without all the kneading and the "add water until the dough is the 'right' consistency" recipes, without deep-frying anything, having to use bacon grease as an ingredient *shudder*, the whole nine yards. So Cracker Barrel it is, and will continue to be until I'm old and decrepit and my kid refuses to take me there on field trips from the nursing home. Anyway, I DIGRESS. The whole reason I'm even doing a review for a Cracker Barrel is because we ended up here on a recent trip to Florida and our server was Great. She wasn't ridiculously friendly or anything, which usually wins me over handily, but she was running a super-efficient have-drink-refills-on-the-table-before-we-even-knew-we-wanted-them type operation that day, and not just for us. Never ever going back to this location, was told the wait was 20-25 minutes waited 40 then went in and asked how much longer and was told less than 5 minutes. 15 more minutes went by and still hadn't been sat, went back to talk to them and told them hey it's been an hour and we're still not sat, they didn't say anything so we just left. For good home cooked meals you cannot go wrong especially with their fine service ! Cracker Barrel is a trusted favorite for spur of the moment urges for down home country cooking. Breakfast is my real favorite however the vegetable plates are superb for dinner. Cobbler desserts are awesome ! The country store brings back memories just walking through as well as when seated in the dining area. I must say the help HAS ALWAYS been extremely nice and welcoming. CRACKER HELL. I've eaten here several times before, but this time was the WORST. First of all, they told me it would be a 20 minute wait for a party of five which turned into 35 plus minutes. They just kept letting in more and more people like they were Disney World and that is irresponsible. When we finally got our table it was a 4 seater and they crammed all 5 of us there so we had no room to eat. The waitress brought me the wrong type of coffee, forgot half of TWO of our meals, then kept saying they would bring the rest of the food but never did. The sausage was AWFUL, unless you like overcooked shoe leather, which I don't. They charged us for strawberries we ordered but never received. I have a terrible headache from all the screaming kids and loud talking from the completing overly packed restaurant. The manager was accommodating and tried to make it right at the end, taking off a meal, but our time there was up. All in all a terrible experience. I know everyone is understaffed, but if you can't do it right, STOP LETTING IN CUSTOMERS!!!. read more

The young lady who filled the orders was knowledgeable and packed everything just perfect, she was great, nothing was left out and nothing spilled. Okay, It's mother's day. I get it. You are going to be swamped. With that in mind, I ordered to go online the night before. This might be my mom's last mother's day at 89 and I wanted to give her food from her favorite place. Pre-ordered at 6 the night before. I arrive at the designated time the next day, Mother's day. It's 11:30 and the store is packed. No seating indoors so everyone has a to go order. After waiting 20 min, I went to ask the manager if they at least had my order so I would not wait for nothing. He doesn't bother to comeback. Asked another employee to check. Finally they told me the order just came through. Okay, I was willing to wait another 30 min. But then the manager came out VERY, VERY rudely and told me it would be an additional hour and a half. I asked for a credit, and he would't even go to the register and do it then. Said he would get to it in the afternoon. So....I'm on the line with my bank to cancel the charge because I don't trust them to credit. My poor mom had to settle for subs at subway. I enjoy cracker barrel on an ordinary day but with the rude manager I will NEVER go back to this location again! read more

Great down home meals. Good menu options, breakfast is available all day. I order the Grandmas breakfast, it is not on the menu, you have to request it, it is a well kept secret. We've been to this restaurant quite a few times and it is fast becoming our choice for breakfast. We used to go to the Denny's right down the street but after continuous bad service and poor quality food we decided to try here. Each time we have been greeted nicely and taken to a table fairly quickly. If a table was not immediately available they have a really nice gift store to browse through while you wait. But we have never waited more than about 5 minutes, even after church let out and they got really busy. The serving staff is very friendly and quick to take your order. And when the food comes it is cooked just the way you asked it to be. You don't feel rushed at all nor do you feel like you have to bring a book to read since the service is quick. Let me preface this with, I am not a complainer, especially at a restaurant. I know being a waitress is a hard job and I hate confrontation. I try my hardest to empathize but this was just not a good experience. We were seated quickly but weren't greeted and given drinks for over ten minutes. The coffee they brought me was very watery. Tasted like lightly coffee flavored water. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and they came out and extremely thin (I posted a picture of the pancakes). They were very rubbery tasting. I sent them back. I NEVER do this but there was just no way I could eat them. The waitress said they looked normal to her so I ordered French toast instead of having the pancakes re-done. The French toast came out and looked ok but when I took a bite it just tasted like a fried egg on bread. There was ZERO seasoning. No cinnamon, nutmeg, nothing. I waited forever to find a waitress so I could get some jelly to make them where I could stomach them and move on with my night. Finally I just ended up going to the hostess and asking for jelly. Even with the jelly they were just so blah. I've had pancakes and French toast at other Cracker Barrel's and this is not how they tasted. I don't know if the breakfast guy didn't show up tonight or what, but the food just was not good. The service was so slow. It was just not a great experience. read more

I went to the front desk and mentioned that we had been seated for 15 minutes without and acknowledgement or even someone to take our coffee order. A server than showed up. When I mentioned my displeasure she acknowledged our wait but didn't really apologize. The quality of the food was not very good either. Most of our meals were lukewarm. The cost with tip was 70.00 for 4 adults and 2 children. Not good value either. Very, very disappointed. We drove quite a ways out of our way to eat here. It was not worth it. Breakfast served to our table was another 1/2 hour. We were there a total of an hour and 10 minutes before we finished. I would not recommend this Cracker Barrel. read more

Both of our orders of Chicken Fried Chicken were under-cooked to the point we were afraid to even take a bite. They forgot the gravy, the mashed potatoes and biscuits tasted more like flour than anything else, and my fries looked as though somebody had sat on them. I can't believe we paid actual money for this! If I was starving in the desert, and their food was the difference between survival and a horribly painful death from starvation...
