This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. Food was cold and subpar. They've changed their menu and no longer had ANYTHING even remotely healthy. I used to come with my ex-husband and they had a breakfast menu for lighter fares with a yogurt parfait, oatmeal, etc. I ordered the only thing on the menu with egg-whites and they literally told me they were out. Christ. Everyone's food was cold, our server would disappear for 10 minutes every time we asked for anything, and he forgot to ring up the only thing my husband ordered - so they had to go back and make it and then came back 10 minutes later and said they were out of soup!? So, they made him a grilled cheese and then didn't even take it off the bill... Unimpressed, big-time. Best part was the gift store. Their menu is awful, the food was lukewarm at best, service was bad. No reason to come back at all... and I won't. read more

Service: 4/5 our waitress was kind and attentive. The hostess was also sweet. The one complaint was that our waitress let us sit there for 10 minutes as we thought you paid at the table. You actually go up to the country store. Ambiance: 3.5/5: it is a typical Cracker Barrel with old fashioned Knick-knacks and saying pictures all over the wall. Lots of tables and chairs, good for big and small groups. Also has the country stories up front to browse and shop at if you have to wait. Food: 3/5: Chicken and dumplings were good. Ample portion. CRAPPER BARREL! The WORST restaurant experience I've ever had. Restaurant was filthy, service was slow, and food tasted like it came out of a trash can. I'm not exaggerating. First of all I asked for green beans as my side with my chicken and dumplings, I received collard greens. Anyways, the chicken and dumplings were horrible, plain bread had more flavor than that monstrosity. The only flavor was from the pepper I had to add. Now on to the worst part of this prison meal... the collard greens. They didn't even taste edible. My meal was nothing short of AMAZING! It was basically eggs Benedict but nothing basic about it. I enjoyed the "Brisket Benny". It's BBQ brisket covered in An over easy egg with tomatoes and green onions. It all rested on 2 buttery biscuits. It was hot when it arrived, flavorful and I loved the way the textures came nicely together; the warmth of the egg, the tenderness of the brisket and doughiness of the biscuits. I fell in love! A unique bonus was that my meal actually LOOKED LIKE the advertising photo. How often does that happen? To wash that down I had a strawberry mimosa, which was also delicious! We had a last minute dinner here on our trip to Williamsburg. Restaurant was really busy with 2 empty buses in the parking lot. So many middle schoolers! This Cracker Barrel needs lots of work and you can tell it starts in the kitchen, leading out to the floor. We had the worst experience of my entire life at Cracker Barrel - and it might just be this location. Have you ever seen an empty parking lot and wait 30 mins for a seat, then an hour plus for your food - just for your entire meals to come out cold. We had kids with us and their meals were all cold. We were a larger group and we were not the only party in the dining room waiting on our food. My husband order a basic cheeseburger - meat cold that the cheese didn't even melt, his bun was so hard it sounded like a rock. Disappointing- you mess up a simple meal. Our waitresses were nowhere to be found, being a bigger party we were assigned 2, we had to ask other waiters to find ours to just simple refill a drink. Save yourself the hassle especially with kids and go eat elsewhere. We did get a refund on the burger, but the lack of care from the waitress to the cashier in horrible customer service, just disappointing especially from a chain restaurant that's been around for lots of years! read more

We ordered a takeout dinner last night. We don't t have takeout that often because most of the time when it arrives it is cold. Usually I go get it . Both of are late Seniors, Not feeling like going out we gave Cracker Barrel a try. To my amazement, I was surprised. The meal arrive while warm and delicious. I had the pot roast to give it a try. Wait time was about 25 minutes, which is not abnormal when we come to a Cracker Barrel restaurant. The temperature is very cold outside and pretty much inside. The first table we asked to be moved because of the draft coming through. I ordered fresh hot coffee, turnip greens, potato casserole, and the fried chicken. My sweetheart, ordered their new potato casserole shepherds pie. The fried chicken was hot however the breading is too thick to my liking. If you enjoy double fried very hard crispy chicken skin then this is for you. The turnip greens and potato casserole was lukewarm, but tasty. My sweetheart stated the shepherds pie was OK could've used more of the potato casserole versus the mashed potatoes as it was advertised. The pot roast was tender and quite tasty and it was served in the cute cast-iron skillet. Coffee was fresh and hot. However, the spoon that was given to me was not properly cleaned. The biscuits were fresh, plush and delicious. They actually melted in my mouth. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly. I will give her a four stars. The restrooms on the other hand were horrific. I had such a great experience at late lunch today - it was the first time I had ever been to a cracker barrel - Sakura was wonderful and so sweet, service and food were awesome. Only taking a star off because the "guests" around us were downright rude. Table behind us was flagging down servers to complain for ridiculous reasons and the couple seated at the table next to ours was given the option of 20+ tables and chose the only dirty table (next to ours) and insisted that the host clean it while they stood there and watched. I get that "sunday diners" are usually not the best and not the restaurants fault, but it's hard to enjoy the dining experience when people are being see you next tuesdays around your table. Also the young blonde host with the glasses was extremely nice (the one that had to bus the table for goldilocks). hopefully people are kinder during the week. read more

Same with fried okra, if the okra was just fried it would be hot and crispy, ours were barely warm and soggy. The hash brown casserole was barely warm and sticky like it had been sitting around. My chicken fried steak was not hot and was tough. Cracker Barrel's food has been falling in quality for several years, we used to eat there often, we rarely go and now we will never go back to the Williamsburg restaurant. Stopped by while in town because it was mid-November and I wanted to try their seasonal country fried turkey dish. Saw an ad for it, had never tried it before, and it looked super delicious from the photos! Even though we came during prime lunch time, this location had zero wait time. Totally surprising because the ones back home in Las Vegas are always totally packed, especially during lunchtime! I haven't tried going during covid but I'm sure its an even long wait now with social distancing measures in place! This location had a fair amount of diners inside but even with social distancing in place, there were still plenty of available tables when we were seated. Our waitress was super friendly and chatted with us about everything from how good the country fried turkey was to the local area and even Las Vegas, where we told her we were visiting from. When our food came out, it really was tasty and just like how I had imagined it would be. Last year I actually said I was never coming back to another Cracker Barrel but my son likes the pancakes so here I am sitting here without any food because even though it wasn't crowded, my food came out cold and one thing I NEVER do is send back food and ask for anything else. Maybe the biggest problem with this experience was that we'd eaten from a different Cracker Barrel several days before, and the food at the first one was fine. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be visiting this location ever again. I had ordered the classic sampler, with a piece of chicken plus chicken and dumplings as my entree, and two sides (Mac and cheese, and broccoli), with hopes of eating some of it for lunch the next day. I'm not a huge broccoli fan, but we all need something green. Let's start by saying the broccoli was the best part of the meal, for sure. On the plus side, it was bright green and steamed, and tasted as broccoli should--unlike everything else I received. The biggest problem was the chicken and dumplings. My first concern upon removing the container from the bag was the fact that the entree-size serving was roughly the same as a side. I understand that it was supposed to be smaller than the typical entree serving size, but this was roughly the size of a side. It was nearly comical, to see this small bit of dumplings in the entree container! At first I was irritated by the size of my serving, but then I took a bite and realized whoever dished it up was trying to do me a favor. These were the saltiest dumplings I've ever tasted. I did find two small pieces of chicken mixed in the gravy, but again, it was so salty it was inedible. But wait!, you say. You got a sampler, so there's more chicken! Oh yes, the piece I intended to save for the next day...well, it was dry and tough. I left almost all of it. I left the mac and cheese too, because it was just mushy and tasteless. It was truly the worst food I've ever had at a cracker barrel in my life. I don't think most of us go to Cracker Barrel expecting a classy meal, but I do think it's okay to expect a decently cooked and well-tasting one. Despite this he waited on my husband and I as well as the other four occupied tables, one with six and one with EIGHT, with efficiency and a great attitude. Times are rough all over when it comes to staffing, so kudos to him. We've lived here for fifteen years and have been enjoying our local Cracker Barrel for all that time. My friends & I stopped in for brunch. The restaurant was not crowded, so we were seated immediately. It took a while for our waitress to come to our table. We all ordered a grilled pork chop with our meals. They came sized and cooked differently. Mine was small, dry & hard. The others were acceptable. I sent my pork chop back and received a new one. The grits were so watery they even tasted like lumpy water. No one ate them. The pancakes were good and my eggs were slightly cold. I was honestly too hungry to send them back so I ate them with my pancakes. When the waitress brought our checks, we were charged extra for the grits. We checked in on wait list online since there was a 15 min wait. Arrived and the lady said we can't seat anyone even with online check in, that's fine we checked in and waited . 20 mins later we seen others coming in and being seated and we were never called , went to talk to her again, she forgot to put us in when we arrived so did then and it put us behind 8 other parties. Normally we would have left but it's tradition of ours for new years brunch at cracker barrel . We waited, almost 30 mins later got a table. Ordered the mama's French toast, as we do each year, the toast was hard and chewy and tasted almost sour couldn't eat it. The eggs were hard and cold but the bacon was crispy. It was a disappointing visit but the server we had was very polite and looked to be waiting at least 4 tables at the same time. So he was keeping busy and still kept it polite and checked up on our beverages! I personally wouldn't recommend the mama's French toast, however the chicken and dumplings on the table across from us looked amazing ! Absolutely phenomenal! Service was quick and wonderful. We got served by a nice man named Ali. He seemed very well at home with the customers and made sure everything was alright with us. Food was fantastic. The biscuits were a little battery for my taste but delicious nonetheless! I got the fried country steak with fries and fruit. Fruit was sweet and juicy, steak was delicious, and the fries were exceptional. The entire restaurant was decorated with old country town ads and photos. It was amazing!
