It's well proofed, the perfect balance of chewy and tender, gently salted and seasoned to allow toppings to shine. The thin Neopolitan / Neapolitan style crust is best eaten fresh out of the oven, not by delivery or take-away. After many years of eating at Stanziato's, though, we have some additional observations: As at just about every other restaurant, service is variable. The wait staff tends to be beautiful and young, capable about 80% of the time and less so about 20% of the time. The front of the house was extremely disorganized on a recent visit and although it was not busy, we waited 10 minutes to be seated. (We noticed others waiting a long time by the door without acknowledgment, waiting to put in or pick up an order.) Our first hostess greeted us curtly, and then completely disappeared, leaving a colleague to pick up the pieces 10 minutes later. Salads are well designed, but not always well executed. On several recent visits, our salads were slightly gritty with sand or soil. (A supplier issue?) Lardons in a Harvest Salad were cut into overly large pieces, fried too far in advance, and ate like salty rubber erasers. When it's not gritty, the beet salad is still a winner. Pizzas are sometimes served unpleasantly and excessively charred -- not just spots that might be expected on a Neopolitan / Neapolitan style pizza, but whole sections of crust. When 13" diameter pizzas run north of $20, I'd hope for better quality control. There is huge variation in decor from room to room, a legacy of the real estate takeover of the Latin bar next door, perhaps. The original rooms run pubby; newer rooms run clubby. The parking lot is as tight as ever!

Mussels and calamari were great, but I think they held the garlic on the garlic bread. Nonetheless, a delicious appetizer. Second appetizer was the Homemade garlic bread dippers - chunks of garlic bread with a Gorgonzola fondue for dipping. I had the same comment on the garlic bread, but the girls loved the dish. Entrees were Homemade Pappardelle Bolognese - a trio of beef, pork and veal in a house-made tomato sauce with a sprinkle of shredded Parmesan; Eggplant - Breaded and fried medallions topped with tomato confit and barrata cheese, served over linguine; and Scallops - Pan-seared and served with a saffron English pea risotto, a touch of creamy lobster sauce and roasted vegetables. Bolognese sauce was robust and flavorful, not overly seasoned; both pastas were cooked al dente, as they should be. The eggplant was sweet, lightly breaded and tender, with perfectly complimented tomato confit and barrata cheese. My scallops were absolutely fresh and so perfectly cooked, they were still light and sweet - delicious. The risotto was also light and not overly pea-flavored. My glass of Muga Rioja was a robust accompaniment. The service was timely and courteous from start to finish. We have eaten inside previously and like the comfortable atmosphere. Outside on the sidewalk isn't the same atmosphere, but it's what we wanted for the night. There are heaters to take the edge of the cold; the noise from traffic isn't bad, and the town green right across the street helps with the view. If you have the chance to try ZaZa's on Main, I strongly recommend it.

I live in Washington depot, and I know "rude" she was beyond! Come to find out she is a co owner. She treated my wife and I like scum. The service was a bit long, but that was ok. They brought out my entree with our appetizer, and I waited for 1 hour for my wife's entree so we can eat together. Over an hr later they finally brought it out and I was ready to leave. I will no longer come back, and I don't accept apologies... not in the restaurant industry. You can't mess up like that. You belittled us, stared, made us feel uncomfortable. Best of luck to you.
