Honestly, very underwhelming. I would for sure go back for cocktails/beer at the bar and for the atmosphere, but the entrees were nothing too crazy. I got the Irish Salmon and my boyfriend got the Short Rib. His short rib was so fatty that he honestly couldn't eat more than 1/4 of it. They were nice and threw in a sundae and knocked a few bucks off the bill, but I probably wouldn't try anything else like that again on the menu. The "craft butter" starter was phenomenal though! And I highly recommend any of the cocktails!! They had some other really good looking dishes that I would be excited to try, but the first experience with the food was not the best. read more

We have been to this place on several occasions. We have always been able to bring our toddler. We completely understand the adjustments for Covid-19, and we fully respect restaurants taking the proper safety measures. HOWEVER the fact that this establishment is taking complete advantage by fabricating it's own rules is not only unethical but ridiculous. We called ahead to reserve a table for a party of 3. Upon showing up we were told by the hostess that they would not seat us with a "baby" present..my son is THREE and has been there several times. When asked why, she informed me "due to Covid-19, we can't seat anyone under thirteen.." We were all fully aware of what was occurring. If your restaurant has an issue with making money - I would suggest assigning a MINIMUM purchase for food and beverages. You assumed a child would be taking a place and only spending an additional $10-$12 on our bill (a waste of your time, right?)..however, we ended up going elsewhere right in downtown and spending over $120 on drinks, appetizers, meals, etc. We also left a tip of over 40% for our waitress during these difficult times for the restaurant industry. We were also told by another restaurant owner in Downtown Geneva that there is NO actual guideline for what "ages" they can seat at 2pm on a Saturday. I definitely encourage EVERYONE to take your business elsewhere and support the other local restaurants that will actually last in Downtown Geneva. We've utilized this restaurant for work events, gatherings, etc and we will not be returning. We were also more than happy to spread the word so that local patrons can take their money elsewhere. read more

Made it back for a return visit last night to try the food, and everything served was delicious. I just got back from Amsterdam and the fries that came with my lobster roll tasted just like European fries with and an interesting mayonnaise accompanying them. We enjoyed the $5 sangria which tasted authentic as well! read more

We had Gabby as our server and she is beyond amazing. The food was great - Buffalo cauliflower, Nolan's chicken and cherry pop tart were the meals my husband and I split. So good!!!! Wines were none that I've heard of but the red blend I had was delicious and the milk stouts were nothing to complain about. My only complaint was the hostess who had to tell us that we had a 90 minute timeframe and would t let us sit at the booth which was empty the entire time we were at the restaurant. This was tough. I REALLY wanted to like this place...not like...LOVE. Unfortunately it just didn't live up to expectation. It has everything going for it, cool location (took over the old NOSH breakfast spot), exciting seasonal menu, and an assortment of craft cocktails. However, the food was just okay. To start our table ordered the fondue which was nothing extraordinary and we also ordered the Peaches bread & spread. The Peaches app was the highlight of the night, as it was the best thing we had. For dinner, I settled on the chicken sammie per recommendation of our waiter. It sounded great on the menu: slaw, jalapeño honey, a biscuit bun and a nice juicy piece of fried chicken. The actual dish itself however wasn't that great at all. The biscuit but was very dry and almost crispy. The chicken was thin and had ZERO flavor to it. In terms of the jalapeño honey, just a tiny dot of it on the actual sandwich. It was a dry, flavorless, letdown. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse, that had a great presentation and wasn't too bad. Drinks wise, it's pretty meh. The cocktails sound and look awesome! The flavor itself is all mixer and no booze. They also have local choices for beer and spirits. Koval is some of the best gin and bourbon you can get, however their vodka choices aren't the best. I am very interested in trying their late-night ramen and would definitely give this place a second try. However, as of right now there are many other solid and better choices for dinner in downtown Geneva. read more

So my wife and I hadn't been to a new restaurant in quite a while. After reading some reviews, we decided to try CRAFT URBAN on a Saturday night - 2/24. A relatively small space, noisy with vibrant music and a modern feel is what greeted us at the door. I am not sure if they take reservations but we were seated immediately in the last two available spots at the bar. Craft Urban is a shared-plates farm-to-table gastrobar with a casual vibe. The menu changes monthly and/or seasonally. We started with the schmear, a pork-based pate served on toasted bread with radishes and pickled onions including a nicely dressed salad. Overall the pate was very tasty and flavorful. We ordered the pumpkin soup and Anjou pear salad next and shared both plates. Both were very good. The pumpkin soup was sweet and tangy with little bits of chopped cooked apples, pepitas and pomegranate arils. My wife loved the pear salad with the lightly candied walnuts. The soft cheese on the plate was perfect. The star of the meal was the rushing waters rainbow trout from Wisconsin with a deconstructed potato salad carefully laid underneath. We split this dish. The salty capers paired well with the fresh crunchy celery and the crispy skinned potatoes were to die for. The trout was perfectly cooked and the trout skin was so perfectly cooked, we ate that also. Overall the entire meal was nicely seasoned, served at perfect temperature with excellent service across the board. We had two drinks from the cocktail menu. My Old Fashioned was ok, nothing special. The Beez Kneez was better, but could have used a touch more ginger. After the cocktails, I moved to a Pinot Blanc which was much better. As we ordered the perfect amount of food for our meal we skipped dessert. Overall, this place is fantastic and deserves 4 1/2 stars. I rounded to a 5 based on the friendly service. I will be back to try other menu items that seemed innovative and interesting. Very excited to have Craft Urban as a new regular spot for us. read more

My wife and I walked in and were immediately asked, "How can I help you?" Perhaps not the best question to ask compared to, "Can I get a table for you?" or "Seating for how many?" Consider the type of question to ask people once they walk in. Better to assume patrons are walking in to eat. Our waitress K/Carla was very friendly. She did however give me a recommendation for an Ale as opposed to a Stout, which is what I asked for. We ordered the Riccotta which was an appetizer (Sourdough?, peaches, riccotta cheese and prosciutto). It was really good. My wife had The Benny. I had the chicken and waffles. Compliments to the chef on the idea of using corn masa to make the waffle. It was topped with fried chicken, Sunnyside up eggs, chorizo gravy and pickled red onions. My only critique was that maybe the chicken may have been taken out just a tad early. It was cooked through but my preference would have been just 30 secs to a minute longer. Overall, our experience was a good one. The place is definitely unique with vibrant colors, murals, antiques giving it a kitsch feel. The staff is great, perhaps just need a refresher on the menu to be more knowledgeable and always consider the ways in which patrons are greeted at the door. read more

Can't say enough great things about this restaurant! The service from the start was top notch, the hostess was friendly and very welcoming. The waitress was attentive yet offered us time to look over the menu with no rush, the check-ins timely, the suggestions and recommendations were truly highlighted in a way that was engaging and really brought smiles all around. The vibe, the aesthetics from the mural painting to the sustainable antique plates and lively music really captivated us. We went for brunch tried the chilaquiles and by far the best my partner tried chicken chorizo biscuit and gravy, the flavors and texture did not disappoint. I can only imagine how awesome dinner here could be. This place is a must try and we will for sure be back again, even if it is one hour away because you can't beat great service, welcoming atmosphere ans delicious bites from a lovely unique scratch kitchen. What stood out the most this evening was the service first then the food. Our server was great, she was helpful and knew the menu very well, she was funny and entertaining. To start the three stars are only because the bar and bartender was the best part of the night. We decided to try this new to us restaurant for a birthday dinner. We had reservations made online for 645, we arrived at 615 and were offered to sit at the bar until our table was ready, which we were told would be very shortly. My friend had 2 beers, and we were told it would be not much longer for the table and they were sorry and thank you for being so patient. Meanwhile there were people coming in sitting eating and leaving before we even got a table, there were open tables around and I believe they didn't want to sit us because we were only 2 people taking up a 4 table. So we decide to order an appetizer because we had been waiting an hour. We weren't sat for over an hour. I ordered chicken, and the waitress came back 5 mins later telling me it was going to be another 30 for the chicken because the kitchen was backed up. Ordered double broccoli for a side, it was more like one serving. My date ordered the ramen and she didn't enjoy it either, bland, no liquid, 2 shrimp on top for $15. I really wanted it to be so good. But just average with a cool vibe. The short ribs were cooked well and super delish, but they we over creamed corn that was just nothing. The trout was over some amaziing patties but the fish it self was blah, no crispy skin, just okay. FYI - this is just me. You might love all this stuff. The Good: Crazy cute atmosphere. The hostess was super nice. Super clean restroom & nice toilet paper & soap. Our waitress was amazing. I was there with friends and eagerly anticipating my leftovers and meh. I had the brunch burger. Lets just say it is not a first date food as I was a greasy mess. From my face to my hands. Why did you grease up the bun? It's shiny. & for some reason no matter which way I turned the burger the cheese tried to escape. All in all it was messy enough for me to discard the buns and go knife and fork. They did have Truffle mayo but the burger was such a mess I didn't want to add to it as it was already so drippy. The burger was just a burger, nothing special in your mouth. It seems they were relying upon the extras. The bacon was not to my liking. I like it crispy thin & they do a thick chunk with definite marbling. Again - you might like this. I also should have asked for the tomato jam on the side because it was super sweet and I am not a sweet person. My bad, I thought it was some kind of salsa, jam should have been the tip off. French fries - hard little things. Thin and hard enough to challenge your enemy's with. Again I prefer fries that are softer so it's a preference thing. read more

Craft Urban is a classy bar. When you drive up, they have cool decor on their outside wall. It is very inviting and unique. We sat outside. The weather was nice, but the view isn't. They have outdoor seating toward the back, so you get an excellent view of the parking lot. However, they have delicious fruity cocktails and a decent beer list; although I think it is seasonal rather than extensive. I got the strawberry fields forever, which was a refreshing summer cocktail. My friends ordered the strawberry daiquiri and miami vice. Both were very sweet, but refreshing. For my entree, I ordered the burger. It was full of flavor and rich. The meat was cooked perfectly, juicy, and comforting. There is nothing better than a meal of burger and fries. The rest of my friends enjoyed their meals as well. One friend got a salad and the other got the spicy chicken sandwich. No one was disappointed and everyone thought it was super delicious. I feel like this place is trying to be a lot of things at once which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The kitschy-ness of the decor was fun but the layout of the tables and everything is slightly off-putting upon entering. We were quickly seated without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon and our waitress was quick to check on us and get things started. We had to look up the menu on our phones via a QR code. My sister, mother, and I got to chatting and had to keep asking for more time to decide on what we were going to order. In the end, we ended up going with a couple of items to split for a light lunch and some drinks. My mimosa was fine but they did have the best bloody mary we've ever had. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we ordered a bucket of the house-made mixer to take home. They even served the bloody mary with an extra shot, which I've heard is a local thing. None of our food was absolutely fantastic but we still enjoyed our time here and the price wasn't overwhelming.
