I had placed an order to go before COVID. When I got home it was nothing like the ones I had had previously. I called but the owners son was not helpful in putting things right. A couple of weeks ago I saw the owner at the farmers market and he encouraged me to go again. This evening I did, again for a carry out order. The burger was quite good but again the salad was just awful. I had spoken to the owner before I ordered and he assured me I would be looked after. When I got home I was very disappointed...again. Went for brunch and our waitress was super sweet but the food was lacking and portions so small given the price. I got the breakfast tacos that are supposed to come With avocado and mine had no avocado in them! The crispy potato side was $6 and I got like 4 potatoes that were really greasy. Cool atmosphere in an ideal location in downtown Geneva. Came on a Saturday night for a few drinks and small plates. Drink choices are unique and varied. The menu had a variety of options where anyone could find something they could enjoy. We split the curds and nachos. Both not your typical plates but very good. I am absolutely flabbergasted! This was my first time trying this place. I had been told this was THE place to go to for a Lenten Friday fish fry. We decided this would be a great place to go on the Friday before Palm Sunday, after work. I called at 4:30 to see if they had dine-in facilities available for 6 people, because of Covid, or if we should just pick up and take out. Good thing I called first. As I was making the reservation I asked what the price was for the fish fry. The person at the restaurant told me the price was $22 per order, but that they were sold out of the fish for the night. IT WAS 4:36pm!! On the second to last Friday before the end of Lent! Incompetent management just lost 6 customers who won't be back! Good thing we called ahead. No excuses! You had the whole Lenten season to guage demand. We went somewhere else and had great fish and chips for at least $10 less per person. read more

Such good food! Service is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes it's not. I have been there a handful of times and one time the service was just not that great. Really good food and appreciate the GF options being Celiac. They use a separate fryer for GF and are absolutely gluten educated and friendly for those who have to avoid it like the plague. However after having the long convo about needing gluten free and having Celiac, my waiter brought my out wrong and never put in any of the notes we discussed and for it to be prepared gluten free. Went there for Valentine's Day and husband's birthday. Fun, vibrant and festive atmosphere. The food and service is consistently excellent and the bar top notch. Their Old Fashioned cocktail was delicious as well as mushroom soup and tempura style cheese curds and pickles for starters. Entrees were tender flavorful beef short rib with grilled veggies atop sweet potato puree and perfectly cooked and tender ribeye steak with roasted carrots and fingerling potatoes and a light mushroom reduction sauce. Dessert was decadent chocolate cake with a small vanilla shake. Kudos and thanks to Bernie and staff for a memorable evening. Can't wait for the new location to open in downtown Aurora. read more

Went on Saturday night with wife and kids. Restaurant was fairly busy, good ambience inside. Menu is fairly small and reasonably unique. Had some good craft beer options. Had nachos for starters which were pretty good. Kids had mini cheeseburgers and they both liked them. I had duck sausage which was very tasty. Wife had shrimp which was ok, nothing too special. I ordered side of fries that came at the end of the meal. I think the waitress forgot them. Other than that, waitress was polite and on top of things. Was slightly shocked at the tab -$11 for a vodka and cranberry. I would give this 3.5 stars and so selected 3 stars as experienced was not 4 stars. We've been here twice already and had a great experience both times. One of our favorite things is we brought the kids both times. So it is a bit of a nicer place but not out of place to bring the little ones. The best thing about the kids is their "kids menu" was actually a "little adults" menu so they have smaller version of their normal menu items instead of dino nuggets and smiley fries which seem to be the staple for most. Instead our 4 year old got shrimp and grits one time and the fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw the other. Our other 2 kids got the grilled cheese with pork belly and they all enjoyed it. Atmosphere is cool, they did a nice job of the changes from Nosh. I like the beer selection as well. Lots of good ones to try. I have had the fried chicken sandwich and it is very good and the burger which was decent. The chicken sammy was better. We will definitely be back. Came here with a friend for an early dinner. Reso was made for 4:30 and the place had plenty of tables. (It is a smaller spot so prepare for that).I started with the Pomegranate Margarita and asked for it to be made with a white rum instead of tequila. It was delicious and they pour was a good strong one! We had the fondue for an appetizer which was very rich and thick definitely a shareabale. The truffle wasn't too pungent which I loved. For dinner I had the lobster roll minus the celery and it was BOMB. The remoulade they mix it all in had a bit of a surprising and delicious kick. And they DO NOT skimp on the lobster chunks! (heart eyes) The fries were very tasty as well. I couldn't stop munching. My friend and I don't typically get dessert but when picking this restaurant we knew we had to and we were not disappointed. Get the chocolate mousse! You will not regret it. Its ganache but totally reminded me of a campfire smore, just better and not so milk chocolatey! It definitely has to be shared because its not your typical small dessert serving. (We didn't finish ours) But it was well worth it. Our server was extremely attentive and accommodating and gave great recommendations. We've tried Craft Urban three times now and there is always the same problem -- SUPER SLOW SERVICE. Each time the place was barely half full during the day so there should not be a problem. Today (Sunday) we stopped in around noon -- again, the place was not even half full -- and ordered drinks. They sat on the bar for a long time, we were going to get them ourselves! Finally our server took our order and we waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. FINALLY she brings the food and husband's poutine was steaming but my Harvest Scramble was BARELY WARM -- lukewarm scrambled eggs are gross. I asked the server to take it back for the kitchen to microwave it but frankly, they should have made me a new plate because it was obvious my dish sat out for a while. In fact, we waited so long that husband's remaining French press coffee turned cold but at least the server offered to bring a new half pot. Husband also asked for "eggs over easy" on the poutine but they were not -- over easy eggs are runny when you cut into them. Three strikes and you're out so we won't be go back. It's too bad because it's a cool vibe that's sorely missing in the Fox Valley but that doesn't make up for super slow service every time and lukewarm eggs. read more

The wife and I were greeted with a welcoming "Hello Friends" and asked what type of table we would like to be seated at. We went with a quaint 2 person table. We were given a chance to check out the menu and our server was very helpful in pointing out the drink specials. My wife had a margarita that was very smooth. I went with a delicious Maui Brewing Co. cocoanut stout. For our appetizer, we ordered cheese curds, the were lightly breaded and soft and chewy, (some of the best I have had in a while). There were a few fried pickle chips thrown in and they were also very tasty. For dinner my wife ordered the crabby patties. The were flaky and light, but very filling and wonderful tasting. I ordered the chicken sammich. It wasn't the best chicken sandwich that I've had, but was still very good. After dinner, we ordered more drinks. I order "the dude" coffee liqueur drink. I think it may be my new favorite. My special lady friend had another margarita to continue her celebration of national margarita day. I was visiting family in Geneva last week. We went out for dinner each evening. The other restaurants were packed on to three evenings prior to our experience at Craft Urban. When we walked into Craft Urban only about half of the tables were occupied. We had a reservation but it was obviously not needed. That should have been my first clue. My sister ordered the beet salad, which had hardly any beets. A friend ordered a burger which was overcooked and he said it lacked flavor. I ordered the Korean tacos which were okay, and probably better than the meals others had. My sister, who lives in Geneva, picked Craft Urban because she had a fabulous meal there previously. We all left feeling rather disappointed in our meals. However, our server--I believe her name was Sara--was the bright spot of our evening. She was great. What a beautiful personality and so attentive. I would go back just for the fantastic service! read more

At first glance this place looks cool. Hip music playing in the parking lot with Urban art work on the walled front entrance. Upon entering you are even further whoad on the Urban art work! ( Very cool btw ) but that's where it ends....Atmosphere is supposed to chill and welcoming. But went I went in I sat at the bar with others "dressed up" or above casual. The TV even had the golf channel on! I felt out of place and unwelcome! ( In kackies and a leather jacket....it still cold!). Food wise it's top notch, they nailed food and drink. I feel like they don't quite know there identity as a restaurant, do you want to be hip easy to try? Or do you want to be snobby Geneva? Pick one or your patrions will choose for you. read more

My sister and I went here for lunch a few days ago, a late lunch...around 1:30, and the place was pretty empty, I'd say less than half full. The service started off rather slow to get seated, and waited on, but it progressively got better. I even said "I'll be ok with this place if the food balances out the slow-ness here". I was right. The menu was small, but I found several things I'd be willing to try on it. We started out with the cheese curds, which were very good! We both got the burger of the day, which wasn't HUGE, and that was a good thing, and the chocolate mousse for dessert - looks like smores in a dish. The food was very good, so that did make up for how things started out. I really loved the vibe in here, it kind of reminded me of places in LA, even the bathrooom was "hip". Would I be dying to come here again? Probably not, but I'd visit again at some point, and I'd recommend giving this place a try as well. read more

I've had 4 visits here, all at lunch, and will definitely be coming back. The menu is interesting and fun. The ricotta bread and spread is my favorite but the fig bread is very good too. I love the vegetable small plate. The cauliflower is wonderful but seems to be off the menu now for summer. I understand the seasonal menu but it's always a bummer to go for particular dish and have it missing. Thankfully the carrots are still on the summer menu. Great ambiance and easy location to get in and out of for a lunch meeting which isn't always the case in Geneva. read more

I was so excited to go to lunch at the new place in town. I'd read about the owners online and had such a great impression from that. No lunch menu? I was disappointed they didn't offer a lunch menu. Many of the main dishes for lunch were over $20.00. I opted for the chopped salad at $11.00 a pop. I thought I'd get a nice big salad. It was served in an average size bowl, the lettuce was soggy. Too much dressing. I also ordered hot tea. It was a lovely large french press for tea but at $6.00 that was too steep. Unless they were to offer a more reasonably priced lunch menu I would not go back. For dinner I would consider it but I'm unsure of the portion size. I don't expect a huge plateful of food, that is unnecessary but the quality of the food prep better be there. I'm not sure it will. My friends who were with me were not impressed either. read more

This is the best restaurant I've been to in a while. I live in Seattle with some of the best restaurants and I would definitely compare this place to the eclectic great places i go to regularly. The menu is amazing with creative drinks, appetizers, and main courses. I had the salmon spread with bread for an appetizer. For dinner I had the thyme braised short ribs with creamed corn.
