Hello, I had a very bad experience at the crafty crabs yesterday in Virginia. I place my order to pick up usually when I call to place the order. They will text me when my food is ready. I waited almost 35 min, still no txt to confirm my food was ready , remind you I'm always ordering from this crafty crabs, so never had a problem, but always a change of managers, I called back to the crafty crabs to see was my order ready the ryoung lady that took my order said it's been ready. So I said when was I gonna receive a text saying that my food was ready she said well I'm too busy. I don't have time to babysit people orders, I said excuse me young lady. I'm old enough to be your mother. Who are you talking to you're supposed to be doing your job I'm not asking you to babysit my order but do your job and confirm and let people know that their orders are ready instead of piling up behind you, so the young lady was still talking being disrespectful. I asked for her manager her manager came up I do remember her name was Jerusalem, she didn't make things no better. She was taking sides with the young rude female with the neon green nail color,that took my order over the phone was being disrespectful and I asked her so you're not going to talk to you your worker, knowing that she is been disrespectful saying that she don't babysit people orders,, and just saying rude things as if the food is free,The manager stood there looking crazy,I spend 85$ I should've just left their food, but I did tell the manager she needs to go back to Jerusalem and take her workers with her.... read more

I've been here a bunch of times,usually Tiff takes great care of my the reason I keep coming back. The bartenders tonight were terrible. When it came to closing out on 3 different occasions she starred the suggest 18% gratuity. To me 18% is a shitty tip. But since she was so pressed to star it on 3 different receipts, I abided by her request. I usually leave a 30~50% tip because I work in food and beverage. But 18% is what she thinks she's worth? Have come here at least 5x now. Dined here twice and gotten to go the other 3x. Would highly recommend. Similar style to Hot n Juicy and Chasin' Tails. I'd recommend the green mussels and shrimp. The hush puppies were also good. Service was quick and we were in and out of there less than an hour. Only bad thing is parking. It's 2 hours free but you have to download an app and input your license and credit card. You've got to remember to stop the app when you leave or you will be charged. The food here never disappoints I pass the one close to me to visit this one. The service is good, you can tell folks don't want to work anymore cause the bartender Tiff was serving food and drinks to the table and bar. She was doing the thing! I enjoyed my red sangria and as always The BOOM seasoning is a hit! The ambience is cool it's a seafood spot so it's given seafood! I will be back again! Wish I had took a picture. They asked to remove a cluster of crab leg that they mistakenly provided....ummm did they plan to recycle it?!? The taste and texture of corn on the cob was odd to say the least. Extremely understaffed. Our waitress was also the bartender making drinks. Someone threw up in the bathroom and apparently the staff must not have been in there for a long time. 4 1/2 stars. Possibly the freshest shrimp I've ever had in a seafood boil. They were large in size, fresh, and absorbed the seafood boil flavors and spices really well. Not sure if the sauce is the best I've ever had, but it's not far behind. They also provide great variety with an assortment of types of seafood and sauces. Very reasonably priced too for the amount of food you get. They are only currently available for take out, but overall a place I would definitely recommend if you enjoy seafood. read more

Terrible service. Food was previously frozen. Waitress got our order wrong and it was too spicy. We couldn't eat it. She then went missing for 45 minutes and we had to flag someone else down for our check. None of the staff wearing mask had them covering their mouth or their nose. Will not be back ever. read more

I've been here multiple times and have always loved the food. Came in tonight w my family and it was over an hour before closing we came in to eat and already we hear that we have to hurry up and order cause they're closing the kitchen. So ok we place our order. Order comes out and in only 10 minutes of eating our food the manager and servers keep yelling out that they are closing and that we have to hurry up in the most rude possible way. Honestly the worst experience ever didn't even get to enjoy the food we were extremely rushed and on top of that we got a huge attitude just for wanting to go to the bathroom and wash our hands. Mannnnnnnnnn, let me tell you! Gaaaaahlee when I say DELICIOUS... DELICIOUS. My boyfriend (who does not consume crabs) tried mine (major act of love) and was like oh yeah that's good as hell. Like everything was fresh, just wow. Boyfriend got the lemon pepper wings (which I don't typically eat) BUT WERE AMAZING! Like seasoned to the bone! Fried shrimp; AMAZING, and I got the crab and shrimp boil, which was just like... wow as soon as I took a bite I just melted. Like it was so good we joked about speaking to the chefs/cooks in the back to tell them they put their heart and foot into this food! If you think you want to try it, just try it! It's that good! Randomly found this spot and was not disappointed! Comparable to hot&juicy or chasing tails with fair price point. The crawfish and shrimp with the BOOM seasoning was delicious. Probably one of the better sauces I've had which was butter garlic, lemon pepper, and Cajun. The mild was truly mild with no heat and the medium was a light flavor with little heat. I think if you really like spicy you can definitely go with fire. The corn was good and easy to bite off, and potatoes were pretty big. The hush puppies were also very good. Crafty crab finally opened in Alexandria!!! Had tried their District Height location before and it was amazing! Had been waiting for this location to open ever since they put up the sign since Alexandria location is sooo much more convenient for me!! They are currently opened for take-out only but they did not disappoint! I ordered a Large Seafood Platter (Buttery Garlic and Medium Spicy), $63.99 and a order of 10 buffalo wings, $9.99, for my boyfriend who doesn't eat seafood (he is definitely missing out on this one!) Let me tell you, the seafood platter was sooooo good!!!! Lots of meat and juicy, mmmMmmMmm. I definitely went overboard with getting a large for myself but hey, I don't mind eating them for 2 more meals!! Hahaha I would say a large is definitely good for at least 2 if not 3 people, so it's definitely worth the price!!! My boyfriend liked the wings, unfortunately I was wayyyyyy too full from trying the wings, gotta save room for more seafood!! I usually don't leave Yelp reviews to slam a business...I used to work in the service industry and I understand the hell restaurants and their workers go through during a shift but I would be doing an injustice if I didn't warn people about this spot. 1. The fish is far from fresh: I am sure the crab cakes I ordered were store bought. 2. The only edible part of my meal were mozzarella sticks which again were definitely straight from the Safeway isle 3. Throughout my meal the movie "An American Crime" was playing in the dining room, not even at the bar. For those who don't know it, it's about a teenager who gets physically abused in a disturbing way! When I asked if they could change the channel to a basketball game playing at the bar the response was "we don't control the tvs"...excuse me? 4. While for the clientele that was there, I'm sure a server showing her pink panties was exciting...I was not thrilled to see such a sight. 5. The Long Island I had was every liquor behind the bar minus the coke and lime (I did get a lemon wedge though ) and while I appreciate strong drinks, I could have mixed every liquor I had at home in a cup and became an alcoholic overnight without having to pay them for the privilege. 6. The host knitting behind the host stand was the icing on the cake! 7. Not to mention the server texting in the middle of the floor, and when a customer asked her for something, she replied without even looking up from her phone drove the night home for me. 8. There was not a single manager or at least someone I could identify as one around the entire time I was there. One star is truly generous. I think both the service and the food quality are too sporadic/inconsistent to strongly recommend dining here. The crab cakes especially are hit or miss, sometimes I've found them overcooked or varying in portion size. Most of the appetizers are clearly frozen foodservice products that were fried onsite, such as the mozzarella cheese sticks, chicken tenders, or the onion rings. I do like the corn on the cob and the shrimp is good when it's consistent and not overcooked. The staff is also polite. Overall, your experience may vary, hence a mediocre rating. read more

My husband and I ordered from here spontaneously last weekend as we have heard great things about Crafty Crab ! As far as the food, my husband ordered the the snow crab special with an order of the crab fries and i also got the snow crab special. it was better than what had in the past and for the Woodbridge area! Lots of flavor, food was piping hot 10/10 , would recommend. However, my husband does not eat pork and the sausage that comes with the special is unable to be substituted for corn and potatoes. So we had to pay extra $3 just to add extra corn. :(. Also, the crab fries were good and everything , but the amount of crab on them was underwhelming. I came to this restaurant because in the past I have had great experiences at other Crafty Crab locations in the DMV area and expected to have an enjoyable seafood broil. I WAS WRONG. 1. The restaurant was NOT BUSY at all yet we were not immediately seated. I wish I considered that a sign before continuing. 2. Once seated we were not greeted by a server for close to 10 min. The process of ordering our drinks followed by our food was over 20 min. 3. The food came out very quickly, which is normally a good thing except 2 items were ordered as appetizers but all the food came out together even though I clearly stated that "we would like to start with ----". 4. The waitress checked on us once only to ask if we gotten the food we ordered. And only refilled our waters once the entire meal after we had to flag her down to do so. And even then she only refilled one when both cups were clearly empty and both myself and The other guest asked for a refill. 5. We were finished eating for quite some and because we weren't checked on we had to wait for our waitress again to ask for the check. We finally received the check and again had to wait and wait before I finally had enough and took the check to the front to see a manager. Something I normally would never do. 6. Explaining to the manager that the cost of a restaurant like crafty crab is not one that should be providing inadequate service. And I also explained that I was very displeased with the experience. Her way to appease me was to take my payment for me. No coupon, gift certificate for the next visit, nothing to make it right. Just hurry up and get me out of there. Having waited tables in the past of course I still tipped 20% but I will say that I would NEVER recommend crafty crab in Alexandria to anyone EVER. from the beginning to the end it was not a good dining experience. Beware of getting your takeout from this place. I added an extra half pound and it looked like the same amount of food I got before for just the combo option, so I just weighed it for curiosity and it was only 1.1 for something I paid for 1.5 pounds. They even confirmed on the phone it should be 16 shrimp instead of the 12 I got. It's weird that they would be that cheap, considering I had to pay an extra ~10 bucks just for it. Their "the boom" seasoning is just so flavorful and finger licking good you will be looking for things to dip into it! I usually get the #A daily special with snow crab, headless shrimp, sausage corn and potatoes. Its very filling and will not leave you disappointed. Go to Hook and reel in falls church, experience was a lot better We came in before another couple, like 2 minutes apart, this "security" guard sits another couple before us. The only difference is our skin color. We were sitting/waiting next to this couple so it's not a honest mistake. while we were waiting, we talked that they will probably sit the couple before us and it did happen. We were not trying to pre-judge this security guard but the manner he took down our name and talked to us led us to think about this outcome. We confronted this guy and he said they were on waiting list. We know they weren't since we listened to him tell the couple that it would be a 45 min to 1 hour wait. Overall wait time was 20 minutes so no realistic wait time either. Seems like they just didn't want to serve more people? Our server was not attentive either. Literally walked away before we even finished ordering. We had to talk to him about this and was helpful afterwards. Seems like the server had too many tables to serve? Seems like we just got a bad server, other servers seemed good. Hopefully the restaurant managers will have a team meeting and address the concerns. read more

We ordered Crafty Crab delivery for my birthday and it was finger licking good. I'm a little bias to the location because it used to be my favorite brewery Portners. They had an issue with the lease agreement and closed. The space was empty for more than a year, but my husband and I drove by a couple months ago and saw the Crafty Crab sign; we agreed then and there that we needed to give this restaurant our business. My birthday was a good excuse to order in. Plus I had friends in town who were dying for some Maryland/Chesapeake crabs. We ordered a large seafood boil and an extra side of shrimp along with coleslaw and other fixings. We went with the Bam seasoning, which is a combination of all three of their boil seasonings. This is my first time dining here and I can say the food and customer service did not disappoint. My waiter/bartender Sumi (forgive me on spelling??) was an absolute gem! I just want to express how much I appreciate her recommendations and her pleasant customer service. Unfortunately, I realized after placing my order their daily specials yielded more of what I wanted. Sumi quickly communicated my concern to the manager and the manager quickly executed my request. Neither of them made me feel uncomfortable nor did they give me any grief with my request. Again my food was fantastic! Great music, food and staff!
