This was my first time sitting down and eating at this location. We normally just order our food to go. The parking is not good and you will get towed so please read parking signs. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated shortly after. Our waitress was really nice and prompt. We had a party of four and we all got boil bags. I got the one with Dungeness crabs it was $47.99 really good deal. I also ordered a strawberry Hennessy it was ok it tastes pretty tart. Overall service good the staff was knowledgeable , greeted us and said goodbye have a safe night. Overall food was really good and we had a good time we will be back again.

I went to Crafty Crab for lunch on a Friday, no need for a reservation and I was seated pretty much instantly- but then asked to move to a different table after 2-3 mins. That didn't bother me so much, as I hadn't ordered yet - but I was never given a reason for the move & I guess it just felt a little strange. Fast forward to the food -- almost all of my mussels were not covered in the sauce. And for a seafood boil spot - one would hope that it would arrive on your table ready to be eaten and not to have to be shaken up a good bit before eating. The drink that I got, 'The Crafty Bucket' was good. Not watered down but as you would want it. The bibs came with gloves but not with wet wipes; which is weird to me! The service was also really slow and my server was very preoccupied with other tables and things the Manager was asking her to do. I wanted to love it here, as it's close to where I live - but it was just okay.

I used to be a Hot n Juicy girl but I'm converted!!! For the price point- you definitely get more bang for your buck here!! I'm a crab legs girlie and the price per/lb was cheaper than the place I normally go to. The flavor was PHENOMENAL! The service was prompt and courteous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went on a Saturday and the fact that there was a security officer in the entryway was....concerning, but if you get a table in the little side area it's quieter and honestly I was chowing down on the tasty food and didn't even care after a while.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back!!!!

    Fried Shrimp Basket

I got the shrimp basket and found the shrimp to be plentyful and hot, but lacking in taste with no seasoning on them; the coleslaw slaw was extremely bland with the cabbage pieces being much too long. They really need to put some seasoning in the shrimp batter. Our waitress-Tiffany- was very patience and professional with our large group during lunch time.

    Drink menu

Service is always decent. Food quality and serving size is consistent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have LOTS of signs posted everywhere, that I find weird.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But that's my personal experience. Otherwise, it's a great place to get seafood boil. Make sure you grab a crafty bucket when you're here!

It's not us vs them, we are in crab heaven together, just at different ends of the golden table. Okay, so we got the wings, fries, steamed shrimp, and a dozen medium crabs. The cost wasn't bad for what we got and came out to about $70 pp. (There were three of us.) Those fries were delicious. Idk what they did to them but there's something about a hot, crispy fry that makes life alright. We ended up with three baskets. ;) The waitress was handling too many tables though so, she wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. Plus, they also didn't have Sweenlt N low for the unsweetened tea. What is up with that?? The stash in my purse got low on this trip!! I'll be back though.

The hush puppies were the biggest surprise--they were absolutely delicious. The macaroni and cheese was fantastic, the corn on the cob was amazing, and the fries were very good. I didn't try the crab cake myself, but everyone else at our table said it was excellent. I also ordered the steak. While it was a little overcooked for my liking, it was still enjoyable. Overall, I would highly recommend Quarterdeck to anyone visiting the Washington, DC area. The friendly service and great food definitely made it a place I'd come back to.

About three weeks ago, I left a 5-star review for Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar because, until…read morerecently, it had become one of my family's go-to seafood spots due to its convenience and generally good food. Before that, our preferred restaurant had always been Crazy Crab, where we consistently had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, after today, I will not be returning to Hook & Reel. I brought family members who had just driven in from Massachusetts and planned to treat them to dinner. There were four of us dining, and while three planned to order the All-You-Can-Eat option, one person preferred ordering directly from the regular menu. After we had already ordered drinks, we were informed by the manager, Vivian, that either everyone at the table had to order All-You-Can-Eat, or everyone had to order from the regular menu. There was no flexibility, no customer consideration, and no appreciation shown for the fact that we are repeat customers who have spent a significant amount of money there over time. In fact, several friends and members of our church began dining there based on our recommendation. What was most disappointing was not simply the policy itself, but the way the situation was handled. We were made to feel as though the restaurant viewed us as people trying to "game the system" over a few shrimp or crab legs, rather than loyal customers bringing business and referrals into the establishment. To make matters worse, this was communicated only after our drink orders had already been placed. Rather than create a scene, we simply paid for our drinks and left. We immediately went to Crazy Crab, where the experience could not have been more different. Staff members remembered us even though it had been months since our last visit. We were welcomed warmly, treated with dignity and respect, and received exceptional service from beginning to end. We gladly spent over $230 there instead. As a retired Army veteran, retired federal executive, business owner, and someone who frequently hosts family, friends, church members, and professional guests at restaurants, customer experience matters greatly to me. One poor interaction can cost a business far more than a single table. It can impact repeat business, referrals, community reputation, and future opportunities. From a business perspective, this experience should concern ownership. In today's economy, restaurants do not simply compete on food -- they compete on customer experience, relationships, and reputation. One inflexible interaction from management did not just lose a single dinner sale; it likely lost repeat visits, family gatherings, business meals, church referrals, and positive word-of-mouth within the local community. Strong businesses empower managers to protect both policy and customer relationships. Unfortunately, in this situation, customer loyalty and hospitality were sacrificed over what appeared to be concern about one person potentially sharing food. That decision ultimately cost the restaurant far more than it protected. If you want to dine somewhere where hospitality, consistency, and customer appreciation still matter, I would strongly recommend Crazy Crab. I truly hope Hook & Reel reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future, because no loyal customer should leave feeling disrespected after choosing to spend their hard-earned money at your establishment.
