The second time I went I got red king crab and they were dry and tough. The house sauce had no flavor just tasted like butter/water. Not going back again. Save you money and try another place. The owner, who happened to be our waiter, sourced higher quality seafood for this Vietnamese Cajun restaurant than the typical similar restaurants in Seattle. The Alaskan snow crab leg portions are larger and tastier than other restaurants' warmed up frozen crab legs as found at casino buffets. The sauces are garlicky as usual, but not overly sweet nor spicy. The must-have dish is their crawfish etouffee with an optionally added catfish - it was so good we ordered a second. The raw oysters were also surprisingly fresh and tasty - similar to high-end seafood restaurants but at a much more reasonable price. But we have been waiting for Crawfish House to open for a couple of years now, and we were not disappointed. It exceeded our expectations. The staff is outstanding (especially Michael), the decor is unique and absolutely beautiful. But the food...WOW! I hope it wasn't just an opening special to get people in, because it was probably the best meal I have had in the Seattle area for the price in over five years. If you are living in Renton, it is an absolute must, if you are anywhere near Renton it is definitely worth the drive. We just sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks and a couple of appetizers. I had never had crawfish before so please take that into consideration when reading this review. I am from the PA / Maryland area so I grew up on Blue Crabs. I ordered a crawfish and shrimp boil cause I was in the mood for seafood and it was close to where I was staying. I sat at the bar and was promptly waited on. I couldn't decide what I wanted but I was at Crawfish House so I figured I HAD to get crawfish. I was taught how to eat them. And if you think lobster or crabs are a lot of work for little reward. Crawfish is the biggest criminal in this department. The meat is on the sweeter side and has the texture of slightly over cooked lobster. The boil was very heavy on the butter and had decent flavor. I prefer a more Old Bay style when it comes to this stuff. I got a medium heat and it was not spicy AT ALL. Corn was unremarkable and the sausage was the best thing in the boil I think, despite the fact that there were only two slices. The shrimp as opposed to the crawfish were very large and pretty tasty. They had the head on so if that is something that weirds you out be warned. Once again I prefer the Old Bay flavor for my shrimp when it is served this way so it wasn't quite what I like, it was very buttery. Now for the Cajun wings, those were average at best. They were tiny and were just deep fried wings. I would try the fried pickles next time. The place is extremely clean and has a good energy to it. Not the spot to go alone, would have enjoyed myself a lot more with other people. Also be warned this is EXTREMELY MESSY so do not wear anything unless you have plans on spotting it and getting butter or grease out. Overall a fun experience and I'm glad I tried it. read more

By far the best seafood boil we've tried in the area at others between Seattle, Bellevue and Kent. We had Dungeness crab, clams, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes in the house sauce. The house sauce was delicious with a garlic, butter and maybe sugar? I loved how the clams had a breaded texture to capture some of the flavorful juices. The crab and shrimp were huge. We also had the fried catfish that was well prepared and served over rice and beans but lacked spices. They do give you a cup of seasoning to add yourself. Lots of top shelf liquors with a full bar. Beer taps coming soon. The restaurant is pretty minimal open style with concrete floors. The seats were quite uncomfortable for full size booties. Parking is available in the front and back. Order was to-go: 2lbs of pacific crawfish, 1lb muscles, 1lb clams, 1lb (headless) shrimp. Sadly, we didn't get any sausage or corn that menu says comes with the crawfish. Enjoyed everything but the clams. They were pretty rubbery. Everything else tasted fresh and cooked perfectly (not mushy). Other boil places I've tried, the sauces are overly salty. This one was not salty at all. Catfish Po Boy - the whole sandwich is huge and very tasty! Well worth the price. Sausage and Egg Sandwich (for the non-seafood eater in the family) - again, size was well worth the money and was said to be tasty as well. Sounds like it's a hit and miss with taste and service. From the reviews, it appears that you would have an amazing experience only if you knew an employee or the owner. Yikes! However, I will give this place another shot and dine in next time. My friend and I split Snow Crab, Head-On Shrimp and Crawfish mixed with potatoes, sausage, hard boiled eggs and corn. We ordered the 'most popular House Sauce' at a level 3. There was no heat at all with that level, so if you're lookin for a kick, make sure to order up. We went on Saturday at about 7:30p. There was a line ahead of us and continued to grow behind us. A huge section of the restaurant was closed off, assuming they didn't have staff for that section. Once we placed our order for starters and drinks, it took quite a bit of effort to get the staff's attention again. The quality of food was great. Very meaty legs and the shrimps were HUGE. Came here on a cold Monday night around 9pm. The place was almost empty so there was no wait. There was only one waitress working and she was extremely friendly. Ordered the king crab which was on sale at that time and 2 lbs of crawfish. The King Crab tasted fresh and was great. The crawfish was passable but was definitely not fresh. But it's hard to blame them because fresh crawfish would be hard to come by in Washington. The sauce is good but it isn't as good as Boiling Crab's Whole Shebang or Bag O' Crab's Atomic sauce. One small but important note is that the gloves they give you are top notch. Other places give you these thin, loose plastic gloves that make it hard to each with. But the gloves this place gives you are nice, well-fitting, rubber gloves. They don't slip off and there isn't a bunch of loose material around your figure that makes it hard to use your hands to peel. This little detail definitely makes it a cut above the other cajun places nearby. read more
