When the job is done right it can b really good however my recent visits have been distasteful. First they started to skimp out on the portions due to not tipping on to-go orders. I addressed it and then we came to a common understanding. I still felt cheated but went with it bc their tango level 2 is yummy.. Now I had my sis order for me bc they r familiar with my name n phone number, tell me why the boil was full. Multiple clusters n many crab legs.. this how I knew they were upset that I wasn't tipping. Next time I ordered there was hair in my boil.. brown blonde hair. I was disgusted.. Overall the food was good. Be aware that the prices on the menu are not what appear on the receipt. They attempt to upsell u on just about everything. I asked for a regular iced tea and didn't like the taste so I asked for a soft drink. Same price for both on the menu so I figured it wouldn't be a big deal in terms of charge. I'd been waiting for my sister to come visit me before trying this spot. I've eaten seafood boil from Seattle down to Lakewood and in between. Crawfish House is definitely pricey for the portion. The potatoes were the smallest I've had in a seafood boil. The crab legs are extremely small. I wouldn't recommend anyone waste their $$ on the crab legs for $32.99/lb. Overall the flavor of the boil was just ok in comparison to others I've had. It wasn't terrible but I'd only go back because I don't want to drive outside of Renton. read more

Food: I had the BBQ shrimp. It was deliciously prepared with a sauce that was perfect for dredging the warmed French bread that came with the entree. Yum! I'll be having this again. Bit disappointed, menu on the wall showed Dungeness crab at 19.99 Lb, sounded great! Made a date and got in early.. guess what, no crab. Told crab was in shortage, next menu item I wanted was shrimp but they do not clean headless shrimp which most boils do. Ended up with overly salty fried pickles, shrimp (cleaned) etouffee. My partner and I were excited to try this newly opened spot. We've gone to various seafood boil restaurants in the past (here in the Pacific Northwest, the East coast, and the South,) so we were looking forward to adding another restaurant to our go to list. Walking in, we immediately noticed the decor was kind of neat and it appeared to be a cool spot. From across some tables, one of the staff members told us where to sit. I could see that being difficult for someone hard of hearing/visually impaired. We tend to be pretty casual, so it was fine. However, typically, I think bringing someone to the table is slightly better service. That may be a personal opinion though. I ordered 1lb of headless shrimp and 1lb of snow crab (low spice level and house sauce) with 2 corn, 2 potatoes, and 2 sausage (which is a combo add on.) I also decided to get some bread to try dipping in the sauce. (My partner got the king crab legs and shrimp, with the same combo add on, but no bread.) Drinks: we ordered strawberry lemonade and a Cadillac margarita. We had put orders in for drinks, but then for someone to come back around to get food orders seemed to take awhile. Service was slow. Servers were nice overall. Food took awhile to get to the table, but it was hot. Food was mediocre and way below expectations. For us the flavor of the house sauce was subpar. My snow crab legs did the job. The one thing I quickly noticed, and the thing that is semi-saving this review is that my crab was very easy to peal/crack open. The easiest time I have ever had trying to get to my crab meat. HOWEVER, the shrimp were not shrimp. They were prawns. Had they been advertised appropriately, I would not have gotten them. They may be similar, but they are not the same. They still had the veins in them too even though they were headless, and maybe that makes me picky, but come on. Don't let me order shrimp and end up with prawns. At the very least the server could have told us they were prawns. The corn was fine, the potatoes were fine, but the sausage was kinda meh. Also, you only get two small pieces of sausage. It wasn't worth it to add the sausage if I'm being completely honest. The bread was also not great, but maybe it was because I didn't like the sauce. The food was served in bags (which is the usual), but you're only provided with a bowl and no "trash pail." It was fine, we just used the bags our food came in. Scissors provided for crab which worked well. Gloves in boxes provided at table, which is nice if you need to take them off or change them. Water provided in metal cups without straws. Lowkey, I'm a straw fiend and am sad without them. I would've needed to ask for one, so just be aware of that. The paper towel at the tables didn't do a good job sopping up the mess. Our bill was over $200, and for the dining experience, it was not worth it. We were highly disappointed. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. Hopefully they can implement some changes and improve. My suggestions: - Advertise the shrimp as prawns. They are not "shrimpies" - Describe the flavor of the House Sauce (you don't have to disclose ingredients, but an idea of the flavor would be helpful.) My positives: - Towards the end of the night, one of the staff members did go around to all the tables and asked either how the food was or if anyone needed anything. - I could pay the bill via QR code. (I didn't have to wait to pay at least.) - There is a hand wash station outside the bathroom and the bathroom was clean. - There was some teamwork. I imagine the team is still learning to work well together. Fingers crossed they can continue to work on that. I love to see teamwork in any job. read more

Took our neighbor out for dinner to try this new crawfish place people were raving about. The place is big with a small parking lot. The interior is nice. Sad to say we felt like we got swindled. They are running a special 3lb crawfish for $29.99, each pound of crawfish comes with one corn and one sausage. When we got the crawfish, we noticed that it doesn't look like 3 pounds. As we are eating, I noticed there were 2 corns in there. I flagged down a server and he brought us another corn. Then I started searching for the sausages and there were also only 2! And they were the skinniest sliced sausages ever! So I flagged another server down asking her if we were mistakenly given 2 pounds of crawfish only cause the table next to us also ordered 3 pounds and their bag was MUCH fuller than ours. The server responded with "there's no way the kitchen made a mistake because I entered on the order crawfish promo"... so you're telling me the kitchen could not have made a mistake just because you entered our order correctly. We also ordered the raw oyster and they were slimy. I'm writing this as I'm sitting on the toilet with regrets. read more

I'm so glad crawfish house finally opened their location in Renton! Much closer to my house and parking is a smidge better than their white center location. They're still fairly new so I feel like it hasn't been getting too busy on the weekdays which I can appreciate. We came late on a Tuesday night and were sat pretty quickly for a party of two. Took our orders quickly but it took a bit longer for food to come out for how many tables were occupied. Nevertheless our food was hot and fresh and well seasoned. We both got the house sauce for our seafood and mine was a two star and his was a three star. We both agreed the sauce was a bit on the oily side but we weren't really sure how to remedy that with the sauce being butter based. I also appreciated that the fried pickles some in a small size now instead of committing to the bigger size. That way we can have multiple items and not feel like we're overeating. The only thing is we didn't really get checked on after our food came out. Our waters were empty before we could flag a server over for a refill. All in all, I would definitely come back if I'm looking to fill an Asian seafood boil craving. Would recommend if you're in the area! read more

12/2/23 $13.99 Boiled Crawfish dinner with sides of Clam Chowder and French Rolls. Service was fine and friendly. Ordered the "House" sauce. The only reason I rated it 3 stars was because I tried Crawfish for the first time tonight and didn't like it at all. If I had ordered Crab, I likely would be rating it higher. The hot cooked Crawfish comes to the table inside a clear plastic bag in a stainless mixing bowl. The teeny piece of corn was inside the bag, too. So, you dump the crawfish into the bowl and start eating the fish with the plastic gloves provided. A " hot mess" would be the perfect description. Very much like eating crab with your fingers and searching for the meat. I was originally going to order a crawfish sandwich. I should have, because I wouldn't have needed to pick out the meat. I gave most of it to my son. We agreed we'd order a different fish next time. The Clam Chowder was very good. The large French rolls were served with no butter at all, so I asked for melted butter for dipping. The waitress said most people just dip the bread into the sauce underneath the Crawfish, but I didn't like the smell or taste of the sauce. Tip: We were told by the waitress to remember to collect your jewelry, phones, and wallets when you leave. Patrons tend to not use the bib, remove their rings, and cover these items with the plastic bib for protection. Then, they leave and the staff, not noticing them, puts it all in the trash. There is a big pile of trash on top of the table when you finish eating, so it would be easy for them to miss these covered up items. Once, a women lost her diamond ring and the staff actually went dumpster diving and found it for her! Now that is a 5 star rating for service! read more

I'm a fan of the original location and was excited to try a place closer to home. I was disappointed by the service-- they checked in with us a few times but never actually got us what we asked for (e.g. ketchup, water refill, bib). Ordered oysters, calamari, gizzards and a mix of seafood in the house and garlic and butter sauces. The garlic in both sauces tasted bitter and the butter was cut back. If I get a craving for crawfish boil again I'd rather drive to the original location. Ambiance was okay. I liked the sink being outside for hand washing but both soap containers were empty.
