From the outside, Crazy Buffet looks like it has a vast selection of food, but most of the interior is just a lot of open space. I do like the fact that the place is very spacious and clean. Anybody that eats at a buffet should WANT to walk around and back and forth to burn off all the MSG. My first round consisted of typical buffet dishes like crab Rangoon, general tso chicken, chicken wings, lo mein, egg drop soup, and sushi. I was able to fit everything on two plates. All of these options tasted just okay. I wasn't a fan of their sushi, but is buffet sushi ever awesome? Nope. However, I was impressed with the hibachi and noodle bar section. I prepared steak, onions, and rice with a generous serving of chilli paste. I watched the chef cook it all in front of me, and it only took him literally less than 3 minutes. The best part was when I topped it off with the WHITE SAUCE. So good. I don't know what's in the white sauce, but think of it as the hibachi version of white queso. There were a few things that Crazy Buffet offered that I've never seen before such as coconut crystal cake and peach buns (both found in the dumpling section). I was curious to try them, but the peach buns were really dry and the paper on the bottom would not come off. I wouldn't stop anyone from trying Crazy Buffet especially since I've heard from several people that they really enjoyed it here. Just don't expect too much. read more

I've been hearing about this place via word of mouth for a little while now, so my boyfriend and I decided to take our families here for Easter dinner. First off, the prices now are $11.99 dinner during the weekends, which is a really great price, but for some reason I kept hearing $9.99. Second, this place is pretty huge! We came with a party of 7, and we were seated immediately. The food... Everyone I went with was pretty thrilled with the selection, especially since they had crab legs, but I thought it was okay. My favorite thing about this place is probably the noodle bar (similar to pho), which was pretty cool. My biggest let down was the egg drop soup! It was absolutely disgusting, and had no flavor. But other than that, everything was mediocre. I probably won't be coming back, unless it's for a family party (or I'm not paying for it)! My faja's favorito! Seriously, this is that new new buffet that all the Filipinos flock to. Yes, it's a pretty damn big place, lots of seats (which can still be booked full during the weekends), and ample amount of food stations. Nothing fancy at ALL. I mean what can you really expect from an enormous Asian buffet? They do have this pretty looking water fountain thing up front. It's a great spot to take all those selfie pics with the fam bam. Just don't sit on the ledge unless you want a wet bum. Their crab legs here are always cold and I really wish they left it warm. Their dinning areas are not the cleanest. Their desserts are an absolute bust. Just stick with the not so fresh looking fruits and the generic ice cream. The sushi up front is just 'eh' but their Pho and Mongolian grill station at the back is on point. For the price you pay, again, depending on the time and day, it's all pretty worth it. There are so many Chinese buffets in our area, and since my family loves them, we had to try this one! It is overwhelming to look at this place because it seems so large on the outside. There were more places for people to sit than food in my opinion. I've been here for both lunch and dinner, but virtually the food items were similar. The sushi was pretty good for a buffet. There was a variety of special rolls and some plain sashimi rolls. I also liked that there was cucumber and seaweed salad which I usually order with my sushi at restaurants. For the regular food, there is a noodle bar which I didn't have the chance to try. The food was pretty much typical for a Chinese buffet, with your options of fried foods, soups, rice, noodles, seafood, and "American" foods. There weren't too many options for desserts, most of which didn't look appetizing to me. I did whoever like their variety of ice creams. The fruit that was available was pretty disgusting and tasted old. Some of the food tasted old as well, which I just left on my plate. Everybody's positive reviews are on the mark! We just left Crazy Buffet Grill. Our family is full and satisfied and happy. $10.00 for the most expansive buffet I've ever seen. The people who work there are so pleasant and helpful. So true, Sally M. The table was always cleared of our plates before we got back with our next selection. I'm also sure when the Va. Came here with my family and just from entering it amazed me of the vast size. Waiting didn't take too long since it was a weekday. Food is average just like any other Buffet around Virginia Beach. However, my dad was still eating and one of the waitresses jumped in and TOOK THE PLATE away from him assuming he was finish when he obviously was not. I'd honestly understand wanting people to leave when it's busy but TAKING THE PLATE is just unacceptable and rude. At least ask next time. My family and I went here tonight we all entered at different times , party of 6..then party of 3 ..then party of 5 came about 30 mins later (each of our party has more children then adults all under the age of 10) we were each told at the door we have to pay first it's how they operate & we must sit towards the front. As we are sitting a big party of 11 (non-African Americans) came in and was seated no pay.. less than 5minutes later a party of 6 (non-African American ) was seated no pay , after watching this constantly happen, my mother & cousin went to ask how come we was told pay first was the way they operate if no one else has paid upon entry, the manager (Daniel) said "to avoid diner dashing with African Americans!" I got up to record the next party (non-African American) of 7 individuals come up and be seated walking pass the paying booth! Worst experience ever!!!!! read more

Nothing extra that I can say that others havent already said. Food is good, lots of variety, I went in on the weekend for dinner so they had oysters, mussles, clams and crab legs, all but the oysters were good they had been shucked then frozen and thawed so they were mushy and watery, sushi very good and that tasted fresh. What I will say I hate is how they treat children. Had to explain for 10 minutes that my cousin was not a teenager, I had to go even further by asking the waitress to guess my age and showing my id to show that some people look older than what they actually are (she thought I was 34 and im 24). It was an unnecessary annoyance. Will return again just without kids so to avoid that issue. read more

Selection, selection, selection! If you can't find three things you love to eat in this place you are not human. I have never seen a buffet this big with this much selection. They have people walking around with walkies calling into the kitchen to tell them what is getting low. The restaurant is very clean and the staff does a great job of keeping your drinks filled. These buffet place has variation sushi, soups, salads, dessert bar, and the most important a hibachi you pick what you want and they will cook what you give them I love it fresh and there are veggies options and meat as well. The only thing I don't like much is that they put a lot teriyaki so you can tell them to put very little or don't put it at all. And I wish they have more fruits strawberries, blueberries, almonds, pecans instead of cakes. But the salads are GREAT! So I ve been there twice already. I recommend this place for anyone read more

I've been here several times, but I am reviewing the last time I went here (a couple of weeks ago). As usual, Crazy Buffet had a wide variety of items to consume. Even my niece (who is pretty picky) was able to find a couple of things to put on her plate. This time around, I opted to get some Mongolian BBQ. The station had a nice selection of vegetables and meats to create your own unique dish. I loaded up on the shrimp! I will have to concur with LaTonya's review about the grill... even though I piled on the shrimp on my prep plate, I somehow walked away with less shrimp than I had anticipated. Another thing that irked me on this visit... the lack of bathroom stalls available. Out of the four stalls in the women's bathroom, only two were operational (one had an "Out of Order" sign and the other appeared to be clogged up). And this was on a weekend night! Note to the staff: please be more attentive to your restrooms. Other than that, my family had a great time. I have no doubt that we will be back soon! read more

I only ate here once, but I will never go back. The food is disgusting. Yes, they have a ton of things to choose from, but like many similar Asian buffets, the food isn't good quality. I only tried basic Chinese food- fried rice, lo mein, egg drop soup, egg rolls, and some sort of chicken. Not only did it not taste good, I started feeling sick almost immediately. Good thing they have a filthy restroom in which there was a sign stating that only one toilet could be flushed at a time, right? The servers do not speak English and are very rude. Someone in my party had to basically fight to keep her plate from being cleared away when she wasn't finished eating...there different times! And the server got snippy that she couldn't clear the plate away. Yet we couldn't get any drink refills at all... Thankfully I was able to hang on long enough for my party to finish eating and I was able to make it out to the parking lot before throwing up and didn't have to use the filthy bathroom. Overall the food was very overpriced. I would say the quality is $2 at best. Those who eat sushi from this place are insane. I got violently ill and the food I ate was actually cooked... This is an amazing buffet. I drove all the way from VA Beach. I've been once before and just remember it being really good so we came back. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait. We had a party of 9 and were seated right away. The food: They have the most diverse selection of food and the thing that's sets them apart is a huge selection of seafood as well as all the normal Asian buffet options. My fave food here is the pepper shrimp. Never had anything like it before and it's worth the trip. A person in the group that didn't eat meat had many options. I can't comment on the hibachi as I've never had it but the line was long. I didn't try and dessert but there was a vast amount of options. Just wanted to let everyone know THEY'RE BACK! The crab legs are plentiful. The fried oysters are flavorful and hot, and the sushi is fresh. I am so glad they are back after being closed for a long time. Everything on the buffet is the same, except they don't have the oysters on the half shell, which I don't eat anyway. I remember trying to find a substitute when they were closed. We drove all the way to Western Branch to eat at the Buffet City. The crab legs were way to salty and the stuffed mushrooms were awful. The fried frog's legs were soft , soggy and just downright yuck! We did go to Uptown Buffet, had not been there in years. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was fresh and hot. I have to say I am not feeling some of these "bah humbug" reviews. It's a buffet...so there should be a lot of food. I have to say, if you like sushi - this place has some great selection. Is it top shelf? No - however the food was fresh and well prepared. I had a little of everything from beef and broccoli to crab wontons to fresh fruit and of course more sushi! It was my first time trying the restaurant based upon the recommendation of a friend. We were passing through the Chesapeake/Greenbrier area and we were told to stop. I have to say I was very thoroughly satisfied! Again - not sure about the negative nancy's - if I came across something that didn't look like it was my thing...I simply moved on to something what was. THERE WERE PLENTY OF OPTIONS FOR EVERY TASTE!! I didn't get to try everything that I wanted since the belly was full . Service was quick, and they came back to offer refills often. We eat here pretty regularly because we do Friday night dinner with our sixty something year old neighbors and they like this place. The selection and service is good, the food quality is just ok. The food is usually reasonably fresh, just nothing to wow about. I do enjoy eating here, because I can get a decent salad, mediocre sushi, appetizers, and other fare, fruits for dessert, and an ice cream sammich all for just ten bucks! The restaurant atmosphere is nice, and there is plenty of seating and parking. Just with a lot of other Asian buffets there are inconsiderate customers that don't watch where they or their children are going because they're so deeply consumed by choosing what foods they are to devour next. Came here for lunch. This place is huge. Outside has lots of parking and the buffet area has a ton of spacious seating - 1 star. Perfect, I said to myself, I will not feel claustrophobic. Staff's service is great - empty plates removed, drinks quickly refilled; so, remember to tip these hard working servers. Another 1 star. Now the but: Unfortunately, with the ton of choices, not a single item of japanese sushi or dimsum/chinese selections or soups by the hibachi grill were appetizingly flavorful. Dessert items were dry (may have been from the previous day's) so stick with the fruits or ice cream. I did not try any of the hometown selections. Not a single item I tasted had a wonderfully palatable Asian flair to it. Quality and presentation of food was absolutely decent. Sadly, flavors were way below par. Went here for dinner with some friends. The food was ok and the service was horrible. It wasn't busy so it shouldn't have been a problem. The waiter took forever to bring me back my refill and when I asked her she said she forgot. Than she brings us the check and we told her we wasn't done eating(we all just had one plate), she still stood there with the Check and said we had to pay. So we paid and when she brought back our cards she demanded us to tip. Turned us off completely. We didn't get anymore food and just left and didn't leave a tip. I would give this place no stars if I could. Been here before and had a bad experience, after 2 years I thought it might of changed. It has changed, it has gotten worse. They have all you can eat crab legs that they bring out sparingly, if your lucky enough to get some they are so over boiled they are flavorless. The shells are so soft I twisted one of the legs up like ringing out a rag and the shell didnt even crack. Everything is either over cooked and dried out or just not good at all. I thought I was safe getting some fruit and even that went wrong. The cantelope was hard as a rock and under ripe. As far as Chinese buffets go in the 757, this one is my new front runner. Simply massive place. Built inside a former grocery store, they really made use of all of the space. Hibachi, Chinese, American, and a sushi station up front where we watched the chefs making the sushi fresh. Attentive service, my water never reached half empty, and a great dessert selection too. Fully recommend to anyone with a hankering for a good buffet. read more

I brought my daughter here and three of her friends. They had a great time and had lots of food items to choose from. I chose the option of having my food prepared for me on the grill. Unfortunately, the person who had their meal prepared next to mine had some of their selected meats accidentally mixed in with my food by the chef. I didn't like having to pick the meat out of my food. My meal off the grill was a little bland and I had to add more flavor to it. One thing the girls mentioned was that there was meat in the pancit noodles at the buffet bar and the only other option was the vegetable lo mein noodles. They did not want to wait in line to have their meal prepared so I'd recommend having vegetable pancit as an option. I would also recommend more sautéed or grilled vegetable items that do not contain any meat or meat sauce. read more

This is really good place, there's a lot of food that you couldn't find in other buffets. The only bad thing is, they are slow to put out the crab(Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday all day.) For the server, my favorite waiter and waitress is Ocean and Nicole, they talk too much to you, and always there when you need them. Such good services. What we have here is a large buffet with a vast selection of items. Lots of tasty items in each section. I love that you'll have sushi to choose from as well a good selection of seafood. Weekend it's all you can eat crab legs. You can't beat that. The price point for what you're getting is right on target. And if you have a coupon (which you can get in the mailings), the rate would be even better. The quality is about average. I've had better Chinese food elsewhere. But at buffet level and the price point the meals are set in, you have to know what to expect. The food does taste good. And the buffet trays are constantly being monitored and filled when quantities are running low. But there is a good variety of Chinese and non-Chinese dishes. So if you're hungry and want to really eat, but don't feel like cooking or spending too much money, this place is a nice casual option. read more
