I've come here three times and it's been delicious each time, so I figured they deserve a review. Listen. Is this fancy top of the line fine dining? Nah. This is your everyday Chinese food. What sets this place apart is the delicious habatchi and flavorful selections on the other bars. Everything is pretty good you guys. The only let down is the fried doughnuts (not enough sugar) but everything else is good, again and again. Definitely getting your bang for your buck. Crazy is an understatement. This place is massive and their buffet options are plentiful. Come hungry. I mean, duh, it's a buffet but there's no way you're able to sample a little bit of everything. That's how much food they have. Sushi is an option and surprisingly, it's not that bad. Do you want your food with less MSG? There's a hibachi grill. I wish they had cheesecake but they have ice cream freezers with ice cream sandwiches, regular ice cream, ice cream bars, etc. Excellent use of this large space that used to be a department store. Came in Thursday around 1pm for lunch. I just came to get some hibachi to-go but did check out the buffet selection as i worked my way to the grill in the back. I'm not really one for buffets cuz I get full so fast, but the selection really looked good! I saw large shrimp, sushi, all the fried favorites & some tasty looking deserts on display. Alright so the hibachi set up was typical, no shrimp or pork tho. They did have pineapple ,which I like. The only sauces that were out for patrons was the hot oil & garlic. The cook put some sauce on their at the end but idk what it was & I didn't like not knowing or having a choice of what's going on there. They close at 9:30pm, we got there at 8:30pm. They made us pay before we ate because of the size party that we had. When we got there, they hadn't restocked the buffet at all nor did they replenish while we were there. We had to eat their leftovers for $17.99 a person. The service was awful! They didn't offer to refill our drinks once! They didn't offer to take our plates off of our table. Do not go there. Don't waste you money! read more

Meh. This place was a go to. They have lost the chef they had before and the menu has changed. They used to have kalbi now they have some kind of cubed tough & dry beef. I think they cook the calamari for 20-30 minutes. They also used to have bok choy very delish. Now they have brocolini crap. I don't know what else has changed but I hesitate if anyone wants to go there. 3 stars because they have a selection that you can make work but the service and quality nearly beg for a 2 @ $7 - $13 I guess what do you expect. Been a while...years, since we went. Tried it again. At first, all the food items looked really good and amazing diversity, especially since it was Sunday and $14.99 a head, adult or kids, same price. But sad to report the food tastes were really bland. Boring. Nothing was bad, per sey, everything cooked right, just not seasoned well. Meh sushi. Again, it wasn't bad at all...it just wasn't that good. If I had paid $7 a head even for the kids, I would have been happier. So we are still searching for that one Asian buffet in Hampton Roads that consistently puts out quality, delicious, reliably good, every time, food. I wonder if it exists, even? I will never return to this place neither would I recommend this establishment to anyone not even my worst enemy. First of all the food is mediocre but more importantly to note that as I went back for another plate there were a large roaches crawling about the seafood area. I have very little complaints about the this place. The food selection is plentiful and absolutely delectable. The hibachi chefs are very skilled and from time to time (if you ask nicely) some of them can perform little tricks while they prepare your food. The servers, host and chefs are super friendly! I have never been an asian buffet that prepares crayfish to my liking... Until I came here. It's to die for! NICE AND ZESTY! Okay. So why the four star rating? Well.... I'm not a fan of the bathroom. Particularly the ladies... I never been the men's room. Apparently their plumbing is a bit wonky. So you have to flush once every two minutes... That doesn't always bode well for people who have to go after certain trifling guest. Almost wrecked my appetite. If they every get a better plumbing system or just better lous then okay. This place is horrible! Move a plate and watch the roaches run. They also charge too much sales tax which is illegal. We have been ill since our visit yesterday. Please don't eat there. The Virginia Department of health should be ashamed that they let this establishment stay open. They got a bunch of stuff here. Crab legs, shrimp 5 different ways, oyster's, craw fish, a sushi selection that was good, a noodle bar with Mongolian BBQ option, all kinds of steamed Chinese items, and much more. Anyhoo, the mom and I were in Greenbriar on a shopping excursion early one Sunday afternoon and decided to pop in. This place is HUGE. We arrived at 12 on the NOSE and this plane was packed. People of all ages, races and sizes were up in here getting they eat ON. We were seated immediately. After making my way to the food area, I didn't know which way to go first! They have soooooo many stations to include a noodle bar and hibachi grill where you select your own ingredients and they cook em for you while you wait. They have sushi, traditional American, fruit/salad/sweets, a large variety of standard Chinese dishes and also seafood. So I had some really good noodles, sushi, hibachi, fried and steamed dumplings, fish, smoked sausage, spring rolls, beef and broccoli, Chinese donuts *mmmmmh*, general tso, hunan beef, steamed shrimp, fried shrimp and fresh fruit. I'm sure I forgot something but EVERYTHING was delicious. I mean everything! Service was on point also. Our waitress didn't miss a beat. Crazy buffet is crazy big! I heard this used to be a Food Lion, so that would explain it. Lunch buffet on a Friday was $6.99 ($4.99/lb for takeout) and it got pretty busy after around noon. Here's what I think makes this place better than most Chinese buffets: 1. Great selection at the grill: noodles or rice, fresh meat (spicy chicken, shrimp, beef) and good looking veggies (big chunks of zucchini and mushrooms!). Make sure to get an egg and plenty of garlic and chili sauce...yum! 2. Noodle soup bar! Three choices, including a seafood curry and a Vietnamese pho. 3. Dim sum 4. Never came back to the table with my used plates still there 5. Pretty decor and clean! I definitely didn't have room or time to try everything, but some of my favorite items were the honey chicken, fried fish, seafood bread, and fried rice. Crazy buffet. The name says it all. Want some chicken wings? They got it. In the mood for crawfish? Got that too. What about some bacon wrapped crab stick or some fresh made sushi? Yep! This buffet literally has everything. Sushi was good. The bacon wrapped crab sticks were super good. Orange chicken and general spo chicken was hot and juicy. There was a lady with a Walky talky that went around and would radio to the kitchen the next thing they needed to bring out so the bars were constantly being refilled. The Mongolian bbq was absolutely disgusting though. No one cleaned the Bar area up so there was food that fell into other foods spots. Food that fell into the sauces just everything was all messy and dirty and the guy that was working the grill didn't clean between patrons. The grill was filthy. So gross. Also, your server never comes around to refill glasses and take dirty plates. But if you're in the mood for a buffet this one is pretty legit. I heard a lot of great things about this place and I put this as one of my places I would like to try one day. You bet I was so excited to try it out when my friends decided they wanted to eat here for dinner. As you walk in, you are a bit taken away with how big and spacious this restaurant is. There is enough room in here that you could fit the entire cast of Game of Thrones! Exaggerating of course, but you got the meaning. The food is a different story. After hearing rave reviews from my friends, they kind of raised the bar for me. After trying almost every single dish they have available, I concluded that this is just a typical Chinese buffet. Nothing to fancy, nothing to set them apart from other buffets in the area. The food is just a big bore in my opinion. They do offer crab legs, but unless you like cold crab legs, I suggest you skip them. They also have a hibachi station. It was okay. I had better hibachi at other Chinese buffets in the area quite honestly. The staff were super nice and really catered to our beverage needs. They were also quick to pick up our plates so we have more room for our second, third, and even fourth plates. Overall, this place is not bad. I had worse, a lot worse. Thank god FINALLY a clean buffet. I've lived out here in the Hampton Roads for about 6 months now, and with this buffet being nearby...It was good to find a buffet that was actually up-to-date and clean. The food was just like any other ordinary Chinese Buffet. Nothing unique. I will say, that the selection of food is voluminous. You have a Hibachi Grill + Sushi + Chinese Food (and of course desert and fruit) all for $9.99 you can't go wrong. I find this buffet extremely competitive as far as price is concerned. Oh buffets! How I have such mixed feelings about you. Sure, there's the temptation of unlimited amounts of food. But is it good food? Typically, cheap prices does not lead to food I am raving about. Crazy Buffet was no exception. The place is huge. Space is no issue here. There's even a separate area if you wanna have a big party. Food is meh. This is definitely not the place for a health nut (trust me, that's not me). I barely saw any vegetables.There's a lot of greasy or fried options. The sushi is probably the best bet. There are tons of options to pick and showcased to its full extent in the front. There's even a hibachi grill in the back. I saw the unlimited seafood options of oysters and crabs. I can't resist the crabs so I went ahead and got some. I wish the crab legs were still warm. Instead, it was cold and soaked with water. Plus, there's no melted butter!!! Service was good. Our emptied plates were cleared by the time we came back to the table every time. Water glasses were refilled pretty fast. Alas this place does no convincing to me on checking out more buffets. This place used to be a fairly decent place. It was your standard Chinese buffet with your typical selections. But the quality seems to have gone down as of late. I mean, I was never expecting fine dining--I'm realistic and realize this is a buffet restaurant. But the quality and taste of the food isn't as good as it was when it first opened. I would call it substandard at best. For such a big restaurant, you'd think there would be a wider selection of food. But most of the space is taken up by seating. The food selection isn't that great, and I find myself choosing the same few items each time I go. There are tables & tables of everything from standard Chinese buffet items like General Tso's Chicken to sushi (pretty decent for buffet sushi) to American comfort foods like buns, Mac & cheese, etc. The service is prompt, friendly, and super attentive. Exceptionally good quality food for an Asian buffet, which can be real hit and miss (mostly miss). Good Won Ton soup and egg rolls (a bit small, however). I sampled a few chicken and shrimp dishes and all were quite tasty. The big surprise is that they got really good sushi. Most Chinese buffets serve nasty sushi (I once recall a place that made Ham sushi [NO THANKS]. But Crazy Buffet had very good Tamago and Philly Roll. Restaurant is Clean and Spacious. First i'd like to start by saying i was very skeptical about going here because i read the reviews before going which i probably shouldn't have. I went on a Sunday around 4:30ish. It was quite busy which is why i think the food was more fresh, i saw restaurant staff constantly bringing out more food and refilling stations. I had quite a few things, i really enjoyed the hibachi set up that they have that part was amazing food tasted so good but it is a little bit off that they have the raw beef , chicken , and steak just sitting out for you to give to the chef. The spring & egg rolls were not good at all, they had such a weird taste and was overall just bad. I did notice that nobody was wearing gloves even the staff, the floors were so dirty, and there was many plates and silverware that was not clean. ice cream was hard as a rock so had to let it sit for awhile before even trying to eat it. I didn't even attempt to get sushi because it just looked so gross ( presentation is everything)!! Server barely came over and didn't really fill up our drinks for awhile. Prices were decent . I would say if you do end up going i would definitely go at like 4:30-5pm when it's busy so you get the freshest food you can. read more

Let me start off by saying that I am not a huge fan of buffets at all. I usually avoid them at all costs, but when I came home from college one day, my parents wanted to come here for dinner and I apprehensively tagged along. This place is in the same shopping center as Eagles Nest and it's huge! A couple times that I've been, the place has a strong smell of fish. I once came here after a night of drinking and that smell was not sitting pretty with me, if you know what I mean. But anywho, once you're in, you check in with the host/hostess and they'll probably tell you there's a wait. The place has been packed every time I've been, like basically overflowing with people! The food itself is pretty okay. I like certain dishes more than the others but that's everywhere you go. A few highlights for me is the hibachi, the sushi, and they have this hibachi chicken that's on the buffet that's amazing. I just recently discovered the hibachi section and honestly it's really good! You get to pick the veggies and protein that you want and they'll cook it right up for you. Sometimes the sushi is hit or miss but most of the time is pretty decent. Overall this place is good, not excellent, but you definitely get your money's worth because there's so many options to chose from. For 2 of us it was $37 after top for dinner and 2 sodas. Great for large parties who have varying tastes in food. Came here with my large family (~17 people) for lunch after graduation. They have a large room for parties which is helpful. I had their sushi which is made in front of you, but it isn't that great. Their miso soup wasn't very good - it didn't have a taste. The crab rangoons are my favorite! They're delicious. Thier scale must be rigged because Three separate times Ive gotten a receipt for 4.67 cents on the dot...Im a smart engineer but Im not that damn good to get the same amount of food each time! Today I went and got the normal Sushi and came to the desk. From the outside, Crazy Buffet looks like it has a vast selection of food, but most of the interior is just a lot of open space. I do like the fact that the place is very spacious and clean. Anybody that eats at a buffet should WANT to walk around and back and forth to burn off all the MSG. My first round consisted of typical buffet dishes like crab Rangoon, general tso chicken, chicken wings, lo mein, egg drop soup, and sushi. I was able to fit everything on two plates. All of these options tasted just okay. I wasn't a fan of their sushi, but is buffet sushi ever awesome? Nope. However, I was impressed with the hibachi and noodle bar section. I prepared steak, onions, and rice with a generous serving of chilli paste. I watched the chef cook it all in front of me, and it only took him literally less than 3 minutes. The best part was when I topped it off with the WHITE SAUCE. So good. I don't know what's in the white sauce, but think of it as the hibachi version of white queso. There were a few things that Crazy Buffet offered that I've never seen before such as coconut crystal cake and peach buns (both found in the dumpling section). I was curious to try them, but the peach buns were really dry and the paper on the bottom would not come off. Came to this place looking for a feast to eat. Had to check it out looking at their menu. First of all the atmosphere is very peaceful they play some music while you eat. Coming in wow this place is huge. They have a lot of tables and shade. Don't worry about sweating it's nice and cool also so don't have to break a sweat. So first plate I got wow they have a lot of nice Chinese food, chicken, vegetables and desert definitely great food. They have the grill line which is fast thankfully and even serve noodle soup to do I definitely had to try their pho and I'm a noodle fanatic and it was great and quick waited probably about two mins can't beat that. With service it was quick but felt rushed towards the ending when our server took our water cups away without even asking if we were done, didn't ask if we wanted refills either. On that part I would rate a 2. Our server was not friendly at all I felt more of a rush then enjoying my meal with my family. But besides everything else was great. I will definitely be back but hopefully with a nicer server. read more
