I arrived at Cream Pan around 2pm and they only had 2 kinds of sandwiches left, tuna and croquette. They ran out of chicken katsu sandwiches. I really don't understand how they could have ran out of chicken katsu. They should keep their store well stocked throughout the day! Anyways, I got the strawberry croissant, cream pan, and azuki cream. The strawberry croissant was very delicious. I loved how the flaky crust tasted with the cream and strawberries. The cream pan was also delicious too. Mmm love the cream. What was a disappointment was the azuki cream. It looked delicious from the outside but once I took a bite, it was not up to par with it's presentation. I did not like the beans inside the pastry at all. I think if they took out the beans and left the cream, it would have been totally fine. The croquette sandwich was okay. Simple croquette, nothing really special. If it wasn't for the strawberry croissant, I would have given this place 2 stars. But overall, I don't think this place is that great. Late to the party AGAIN! A friend and I decided to check out Cream Pan on our way to Gen for lunch. While I normally don't do dessert before lunch, we wanted to make sure we got there before they sold out. Once I got my hands on the STRAWBERRY CROISSANT, I couldn't help but eat it right away. And in retrospect, I have zero regrets about this decision! Needless to say, the strawberry croissant was amazing! The soft, flaky croissant is filled with the perfect amount of creamy custard and slices of fresh strawberries and dusted with powdered sugar. It's frickin' delicious! Omg, the strawberry croissants. Soooo good, but so fattening... but then again, SO worth it. I've had Cream Pan bookmarked for years and I can't believe it took me so long to finally stop by. Luckly they did not sold out for that day. Cream Pan is near a freeway exit of the 5. It is a quaint size bakery with varies Japanese pastries and a few entrees. The more you buy. The cheaper it is. The Strawberry Croissant are heavenly!!! From it being crunchy and custard filling. It has an fresh components with the Strawberries. It just perfect dessert. Came here on a Wednesday morning around 11am and it was pretty packed. Just a few minutes after we got in line, the line was out the door. However, the ladies working are pretty speedy so the line moved quickly. We got one of each: boston cream donut, raspberry cheese tart, ham and cheese croissant, beef curry bun, chicken curry bun, cream pan, chocolate horn, and a large house coffee. The Boston cream donut is a fried bun with a chocolate glaze on top with a yellow custard filling. The bun is not as sweet as American bakeries' and the outside of it looks almost similar to those of Chinese donuts. The chocolate is hardened and cracks when you bite into it and the custard has a very light flavor to it. The donut is the perfect amount of sweetness. I was able to eat the whole donut without getting sick of its sweetness. The raspberry cheese tart was amazing. It has a flaky crust with powdered sugar on top and inside was filled with a sweet cheese and real raspberries. The cheese provided a hint of savory and the raspberries added the perfect amount of sweetness. The flakiness of the crust was just to die for. The ham and cheese croissant was average. It comes with one rolled slice of ham on top of a layer of cheese which is embedded into the croissant roll. I liked how the ham was a little cooked - it probably tastes amazing when its fresh. The beef and chicken curry buns were delicious. The buns were coated with the same breading used for katsu meats in curry. I really liked the beef curry bun - I think it had more flavor than the chicken curry bun. Definitely recommend if you like savory pastries and curry. The chocolate horn is made with bakery bread (not a sweet bread) and has a chocolate glaze on top with a chocolate custard filling on the inside. The bread is the same bread they use for the hot dog pastries, so its not sweet at all. The chocolate glaze crunches and breaks when you bite into and the chocolate custard filling is a light chocolate taste. It isn't super sweet, which I really liked. I was able to finish the entire pastry without feeling overpowered by its sweetness. Overall, I really liked the pastries here. Everything was delicious! They are known for their strawberry croissants but I had already tried them before which was why I didn't get them this visit. They have pretty much all the basic pastries that Asian bakeries have - I wish they had more variety but everything was great as is. read more

Every time I've tried checking this place out, it was closed! They need to open later! After several attempts, I finally was able to come during their business hours which was around 3 and there weren't any pastries on display. Everything was sold out, but luckily they continued to make strawberry croissants because that's what everyone was here for. The strawberry croissants were phenomenal! With my diet, I can't have sugar/sweets, but if I were to cheat, this would be my cheat dessert. :) A friend introduced this to me once before and I've been itching to come visit myself. Not surprisingly the line was pretty long. So expect to wait for about 30 min on a weekend. The cream pan was definitely worth the wait for. They do an excellent job with the custard. I also picked up a custard pudding which was real tasty. The custard is not overpoweringly sweet like some other places would make it. The sweet and richness of creamy level are just right.
