It's obvious that their most popular item is the strawberry croissant--and it definitely is yummy. Can't go wrong with that. They also sell other baked goods as well as some savory items like curry pan, onigiri, and even steamed buns. They have premade sandwiches and rolls as well. Recommend!
The strawberries croissant are amazing. I bought a 6 pack which is perfect size to share with the family. They also great item to bring to a potluck if you don't have any idea to bring. They are always a hit with everyone. They also have other pastries, sandwiches, and coffee. But most people come for the strawberry croissant! Parking is easy and shared among other businesses in the area.
First time visiting Cream Pan after having it all the time from people bringing it to parties! Plenty of parking for the busy bakery. Once you step inside, you are surrounded by all of their baked goods. They have way more than their famous strawberry croissants. We decided to just get a quick snack and the pork bun was a great option. Service was very quick for lunch rush.
BEST BAKERY IN OC Their strawberry croissants are must try, flaky and buttery croissant with not too sweet custard is the perfect snack for an afternoon treat Varieties of different small bites from sweet to savory like katsu sandwich and sushi. Their pork buns are amazingly soft and pillowy as well. Pastry shelf has various bread but my favorite has to be the blueberry scone! The interior is cozy and easy to navigate. Everything is organized and easy to browse Services are great and helpful! Parking is no problem as the lot has plenty parking. DO COME EARLY BEFORE THEY SELL OUT!
I have to go back to cream pan whenever I'm in socal. Everything still tastes great and they still have all the pastries I enjoy. During my recent trip here, I got cream Puffs (my favorite) and the strawberry croissant. There was a short line but it moved quickly. Customer service was average, and they keep the line moving. I would've ordered more, but was flying back to sac in a few hours so had to limit what I ordered to bring back. This location is the original and it is crowded inside since they sell goods also. I believe they have a few tables for dining in outside, bit I've never dined in so cannot speak to that. I'll continue to go here, or one of their other locations when I'm in So-Cal.

We have made pit stops at this OG branch of Cream Pan in Tustin over the years. The location of this well-known Japanese/French bakery was unusual in that it's isolated in a corner of the El Camino Plaza. I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.
My first time stepping into this store, after hearing of its legendary status and having eaten one of their best-selling strawberry croissants a time or 2 months ago. Good thing I got here before 11am on my way to church; I read a review here that the lines go out the door after 11am. Whew. On this inaugural visit, I got thei namesake cream pan. Ate it with great joy & delight. So delicious, so delectable. One thing I don't get is how there's over 8k photos here when the sign clearly says no photography and no video, but lots of people still love to take photos. My best guess is the store owners don't want people slowing down the line & keep everyone moving along. There are signs for that too, to move it along.
I tried Cream Pan Bakery and had mixed feelings about the experience. The strawberry pastry was really good and definitely the best item we tried. Unfortunately, the cream puff was very disappointing. It felt too heavy and did not taste fresh or special to me. The service and atmosphere were also not great. The place looked a bit dirty and outdated. I ordered drip coffee and was just handed an empty cup and told to help myself, but the coffee dispenser was hidden in the corner and hard to find. When I asked again, the staff member did not really answer my question and seemed more focused on talking with her friends, even though I was the only customer in the store. Overall, I do not really see what makes this place stand out. The strawberry pastry was good, but the service, cleanliness, and cream puff were disappointing. I am not sure if I would come back.
In 2024, Cream Pan earned Yelp's top honor as the best pastry shop in Orange County--rightfully so and well deserved! They've also been recognized by The Orange County Register, TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice, and OC Weekly. Influenced by French and Japanese-style baking, they specialize on cream pans--hence the name. Cream pans are sweet buns filled with a light, silky custard. Whenever I come here, there's always a long line but it's so worth it. I get their famous strawberry croissant, which is filled with a perfectly balanced cream custard that's just the right amount of sweetness for my liking. They have a wide range of options--from sandwiches and rice dishes to donuts, cakes, and even sushi. They also offer catering, including strawberry croissants, sandwich trays, whole cakes (6- or 9-inch), roll cakes, and sushi trays. Catering is available at all three locations: Tustin, Fountain Valley, and Lomita.
One of the original pastry shops in OC that I have been coming to get for many years. Strawberry croissant is the way to go. The space can be a bit tight when there is a line out the door. I usually stop by in the mornings before work, which is also when the pastries are freshly baked. Last time I also tried a few other pasties and niku man (pork bun) and spam and egg misubi for breakfast. Many of the other sandwiches are also tasty.
They're known for their strawberry croissants, and they are definitely delicious. But, I've noticed over the years, especially recently, the prices have gone much higher and the product seems much smaller. I would love getting their variety pack of sandwiches, but again, the prices kept rising, so I hardly get them anymore. They hardly fill you up, anyway, because they're so tiny. The Spam and egg musubis are tasty. The scones are fluffy and not hard and dry like at most other bakeries. Their carrot juice is nice. If anything, I'll go in and get their white sandwich bread, brioche buns, and butter rolls. They have curry dishes, California rolls, spicy tuna rolls, and many other items. It's a small shop, and items usually sell out way before closing time. Service is meh, definitely went downhill over the years as well, unfortunately. Regardless, it's quaint and unassuming. There's seating outside on the patio. There used to be inside seating before COVID, and they just use that area for storage, now. It doesn't look great. But, there are plenty of other restaurants, shops, coffee shops, etc., so you can walk around the whole block.
We stopped by for breakfast and had a nice experience overall. My favorite was definitely the pork bun--the bun was soft and fluffy with just a hint of sweetness, and the pork filling was flavorful. I'd happily come back just for that. The sandwich and strawberry croissant were both good, and the fresh carrot juice was excellent--very fresh, naturally sweet, and refreshing. Overall, everything was enjoyable, That said, the pork bun is definitely worth trying, and I'd come back for it.

I love the pastries, sandwiches, pork buns, the OJ in the morning, and pretty much everything. The food is always fresh, especially the avocados in their turkey sandwiches. I've had Cream Pan in my bookmarks for years. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the desserts as much as I had hoped. Maybe I would like the savory foods better. - Strawberry Croissant ($2.40). Each croissant was small, but the size matches the price. The croissant was flaky and chewy with a loose custard inside. The vanilla flavor was a tad too strong. There was more custard in the middle than expected. However, the ends were dry; a more even distribution of custard would have been better. I also thought that the croissant could use more than three thin slices of strawberry. I guess that would make less room for the cream, because the croissant was a shallow folded triangle rather than a split crescent shape. - Cream Pan ($2.20). The choux pastry was generously filled with the same custard as the Strawberry Croissant. I would have preferred more shell to custard, since I liked the eggy flavor of the pastry more than the custard. My favorite component was the crispy dots of sugar on top. - Azuki Cream ($3.40). The dough was thin and layered, sort of like a croissant. I liked the high ratio of whipped cream to red bean paste. Unfortunately, the whipped cream was a bit too sweet. I was so excited to come back here for strawberry croissants! Last time I visited was back in 2022 since I live out-of-state and I just knew I had to come back. The strawberry croissants are delicious! There's also a version with the addition of bananas. We came around 2pm this time and they were restocking the strawberry croissants. Unfortunately, they were out of hand rolls, onigiri and some of the baked goods but that's understandable considering the time. They do take phone orders so you can secure your goodies ahead of time (person working there kindly informed us)! The store layout is very logical because when you enter that's where the line starts and then you see all the items as your proceed. It's a very chill place where you can sit down and eat if you choose. 10/10 strawberry croissants! Service and location were great :) read more
Ok best bakery ever. Japanese French fusion. Came before 8am on Sunday and no line yet. Got their egg salad sandwich, egg salad roll, pork katdu sandwich from the grab to go area. And then ordered from sweet staff member box of 6 of strawberry croissants, cream pan, red bean pan, olive bread and also a ume onigiri. The egg salad sandwich is just like in Japan at the 7-11 stores. Even the packaging is the same. But the taste of the white bread and the egg salad was on point and literally brought me back to Japan. The cream pan is so soft bun and cream filling is perfect custard like. Pork katsu sandwich tasty and crispy and full of cabbage. Strawberry croissant is flaky and crispy and delicate and perfect balance with strawberry and custard like cream. Ambiance is efficient if you know what you want but when there's a line, can feel a bit rushed if you want to browse. read more

I heard about the strawberry croissants, I read up on the strawberry croissants, I wanted the strawberry croissants, I came to Cream Pan for the strawberry croissants, I bought the strawberry croissants, I ate the strawberry croissaints, I LOVED THE STRAWBERRY CROISSAINTS!!! A favorite place to buy strawberry croissants, olive loaf, cream puffs, the namesake cream pan, toast, cake slices, and more depending on what you like. Just make sure to come early as some choices sell out really fast and that's it for the day. The employees are fast and efficient and the lines move fairly fast. There are a few tables tables inside to sit and eat. They also sell curry meals and drinks. I like coming when I get the chance and indulging in a cream puff, strawberry croissant, or curry bread. read more

Cream Pan is know for its strawberry croissants, and for good reason! The strawberry croissant comes with sliced strawberries, custard, and powdered sugar on top. It's not too sweet, which is great, and it's perfect for bringing to an event. I also like the strawberry banana croissant, which is topped with sliced strawberries, bananas, a layer of custard, and chocolate - yum! I appreciate the convenience of being able to grab a prepped pack of strawberry croissants quickly, though the place does get filled with customers. I went around 7:15 am on a Friday, and there was already a line to the door, which only grew as I waited. The line system is efficient and the line goes by quickly. Came here for the first time and will be coming back again! I love the Japanese baked goods. The coffee is alright, but I usually don't expect bakeries to have amazing coffee. I'm shocked at how budget friendly the prices are for the quality! Like what do you mean a strawberry Croissant is just $2.5?! That's an insane deal! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because the layout/ordering process is kinda unorganized. I felt rushed to order all my items and the cashier also got one of my orders wrong. Stopped by just to try the strawberry croissants ($2.40 each). They were... okay. Nothing bad, but honestly nothing special either. I'm not sure I understand the hype behind this place. The croissants are on the smaller side, and for the price, I expected something a bit more memorable. The pastry itself and the filling were both fine, but neither really stood out in flavor or texture. Maybe other items on the menu are better, but based on this experience alone, I'm not in a rush to return. read more
This is my second time having Cream Pan and it's still as good as I remember! The croissant is perfectly flaky, the cream is custard-y and not too sweet. You have to be careful not to inhale the powdered sugar when you eat though or else you will end up with a small coughing fit like us haha. Also love the strawberry banana pastry, which has an additional layer of Nutella! The azuki cream puff was nice to try but won't be a staple in my order Of the savory items, I've only tried the katsu sando, yakisoba roll and pork bun. Two words. Strawberry croissant. Nothing else matters. They're crispy, and filled with just the right amount of crème and strawberries. I have dreams about these croissants sometimes, and that's my calling to make the drive out to Tustin to pick up some more. Quick service and the staff are friendly. I have been a recipient of their famous strawberry croissants, but this was my first time going to their storefront to pick some up to bring as gifts down to some friends in SD. I got two 6 packs of strawberry croissants ($14 each). Please note, the packs of strawberry croissants cannot be divided or arranged into any other packaging. They do sell empty plastic containers for 50 cents for you to repackage the pastries on your own. Pastries looked super fresh, and my friends loved them!! I came on a Thursday around 11:45am, and there was a line out the door. They have lots of options to choose from; my friend got a chocolate horn ($2.40) and loved it. Service/Ambiance: We came on a Friday around 4pm and there was a line outside the door. We waited about 15min to order. Food: we got the strawberry croissants and strawberry banana croissant. The croissant was flaky, buttery, and topped with slightly sweet powdered sugar. I do wish there were more strawberry slices, but it was delicious. read more

I can't believe I have not written a review yet for Cream Pan! I have been to this location so many times. Fast better, efficient service. They have all their cream pan all packed and ready in a box in the fridge. Just have to go up to the cashier and tell them how many cream pans you would like. 6 pieces for $14 or 14 pieces for $32. Also have two more locations. One in Fountain Valley, that location is much bigger than this original location. Other location is in Lomita. Their drinks and other items are good too but I mainly get the strawberry cream pan. So delicious with the custard they make. read more

Delicious strawberry croissant dessert but there's hardly any strawberry in there. I was so disappointed. The flavor is amazing tho, so crunchy and flaky. The cream is perfectly sweetened. Came for the strawberry croissant (dusted with powdered sugar, creamy custard inside) and happy with their other options too! Reasonably priced for what other bakeries charge nowadays and plenty of sweet/savory foods depending on what you're in the mood for. The food is all presented in an aesthetic manner that makes for a nice gift or just having a meal you get to eat with your mouth AND eyes. Service is quick, you just pick all the goodies you want and pay at the counter. There's some outside seating as well. Enjoyed their spam/egg roll, katsu sandwiches, and their popular strawberry croissants. Will come again to taste some of their other offerings! read more

Very addicting strawberry croissants. I have been going here for years and they always bring me back for their desserts. It is light and airy.. I could literally eat all 6 croissants. The hypes real! You know their strawberry croissants gonna be good, when they have a separate fridge just for them. The flavor's definitely top notch, but I do wish they had more strawberries in each one. There were only 2 thin slices of strawberries in a croissant. Otherwise it'll be perfect. read more

One of my favorite bakeries! The most popular item here is the strawberry croissant. The combination of strawberries with custard filled flaky croissant and powdered sugar is divine! So many offices love to pick up a few boxes of these for their employees. And it is the perfect pastry to surprise a hard working staff with. Another favorite is the strawberry banana croissant. It's a long puff pastry with the fruit and custard on top. A great fruit duo for a snack or breakfast item. There are so many delicious options here that you might have a hard time making a decision. Best thing to do in that situation is order them all! Ha ha! You will not regret it! read more

I was excited to try their stuff but unfortunately I was super disappointed. I tried their famous strawberry croissant and I have to say I don't get the hype at all. The croissant is stale, and has very little strawberries inside. The only pro is that it's not overly sweet. I also got one of their fruit roll cakes. I can say this was the worst roll cake I've ever had - all the fruits were super sour AND worst of all, the cake was SO DRY. You could really tell just by looking at the cross section of the cake once you cut into it :( was expecting the usual Japanese bakery quality of something fluffy and moist... There was also no one at the counter when a bunch of customers entered when I did, and it was super unclear what to do since they had trays but everything was housed in their refrigerated case. Know it's a mom and pop store but it could probably do with a tiny bit of updating. Meh. read more

I don't think so because I asked them for dairy free items. They only had sourdough and another form of rustic bread. They also will say there is the chance for cross contamination. Hope this helps!

You can use apps like DoorDash, UberEats and etc for deliveries. This place does not do their own delivery service.

They have fresh cream and strawberries so I don't think they'd freeze well. Eating them fresh is best or at least in a day or 2👍🏼
