They have really good fries. Also, their portion sizes are massive, so even as restaurants all over continue to raise their prices like crazy, even with the increased cost, you can get relatively good bang for buck when you dine at Crepevine. They do basic breakfast items like omelette and pancakes and scrambles as well as lunch basics like pasta and sandwiches, but their crepes are the main draw. Each of their mains (other than the breakfast dishes and the pastas) come with a side salad and your choice of potatoes or fries. Take my advice and get the fries. I don't know where they order these from, but they are fantastic--crispy and soft on the inside and seasoned well. I also like to ask for a side of their herb ranch dressing to dip them in. I like the fact that they are an "order at the counter and take a number" kind of place, which is less fancy than the other sit down options on Castro Street. But this also means that their service is pretty fast and efficient. They have a lot of seating inside as well as on the sidewalk that is covered, and now that the street is closed off, a gigantic seating area on the road. There are plenty of umbrellas to keep the sun out of your eyes on a sunny day. The staff is attentive about refilling water cups and taking finished plates away, but they don't rush you out. I ordered the Mendocino Sandwich which was a tuna salad sandwich with avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes. You get the choice of either fries + salad, or potatoes + salad. I went with the potatoes but I tried my friend's fries and I preferred the crispy fries by a landslide! I think the fries/potatoes + salad is super generous and it makes a super filling meal. It was super cold the day we came so I was super thankful for the warmers they had on the outdoor seating! We ordered at the counter and sat down outside. Love bananas and Nutella so I ordered the Monaco crepe and added mixed chopped nuts (seemed like pistachios and maybe walnuts). Added so much crunchy texture! I was surprised they included a side of vanilla ice cream + whipped cream even for take out. The ice cream was still frozen, perfect addition to the dessert crepe. Chocolate sauce drizzles created top notch presentation. For actual lunch, I got the Tuscany crepe with tender chunks of chicken, sautéed mushrooms, diced tomatoes, fragrant pesto, and gooey melted provolone. Tons of house potatoes plus the included side salad rounded everything off. Thin, chewy crepes. Soft with slightly crispy edges. Can't go wrong with sweet or savory! Check out the menu; there's something for everyone and they're not limited to crepes. Omelets, pastas, salads, pancakes, sandwiches, Benedicts, fried calamari, they've got it! I once had an Italian soda at the Palo Alto location. They probably have them here too. Ask what syrup flavors they have in stock. lowkey thought that crepevine was alot worse, because all the last times that ive been there (like the burlingame location), it has just been a large quantity of mediocre food. maybe i just wasnt getting the good stuff. the mountainview location is pretty nice, still has alot of outdoor seating and is a really good vibe except for the red tent which makes everything look kind of unappetizing. the ordering method isn't my favorite either. the crepe florentine was really filling and came with fries which were great. the crepe itself was pretty big but nothing super special - the caramelized onions really brought out most of the flavor. the blackstone eggs benedict was pretty much flavorless though - the only way it would taste better was by adding salt but their salt crystals are too big for their shakers so you had to take the cap off. id go again, but never seek it out. read more

I haven't been here in over 10 years (seriously). They are still hustling and bustling. Not crowded on a Monday afternoon after 1 PM. Plenty of tables and chairs available outdoors. I didn't see crowds sitting inside either. It was actually a very nice and quiet day. Cashier was very experienced, quick, and efficient at the front counter. Got my table number and decided to sit outside at a corner area. It was organized and customers seem happy in general. I ordered a cup of hot apple cider, Bangkok salad, and a sweet crepe with strawberries, bananas, chocolate, and ice cream. Total was around $32, but I still tipped them $4-5. The whipped cream was very thick and heavy, but all the foods still tasted fresh and great. The apple cider had two cinnamon bars in it. By the way, portions were extremely huge! I only ate 1/4 of the portions on the plates and took the rest To-Go. The Bangkok salad was too good, but I didn't finish it. Chicken and nuts in the salad were yummy, but the vinaigrette was heavily loaded. Overall, I enjoyed the peaceful hour of relaxation and sunshine on my back out there. Plenty of 2-hour public street parking closeby. The place felt clean and they were generous on the napkins. Staff was hardworking and happy people. I am glad they survived the pandemic. I come here a lot for brunch and am never really too disappointed! They have a ton of outdoor seating and there's a lot of activity inside so it always feels super bustling and high energy. Good: I always get a version of a crepe and I really like their eggplant marinara one and Santa Fe since they are unique. The portion sizes are always optimal - I always end up with some sort of leftovers. Bad: Not as big of a fan of their salad or potatoes - usually quite bland. The location is terrific, the staff is very friendly, the restaurant is clean and the menu is fresh and tasty. We got one Kyoto Crepe (tofu) and one Philly Crepe, both with potatoes. Both crepes were amazing, and in huge portion. I asked for the chipotle sauce (Philly Crepe) on the side, and definitely preferred the beef without the sauce. The mushroom in the Philly Crepe was absolutely a gem! Same with the mushroom in the Kyoto Crepe. We also tried their hot cider and enjoyed it. It's different from the traditional hot cider we were expecting, but I liked how its cinnamon aroma was so subtle and not overwhelming. Wow! OMG! Amazing! Scrumptious! The BEST crepes I've had! Including the many times I've had in France. Try the Midnight Blues if you love blueberries!! You will not be disappointed! Just look at both my pictures from 2 different days! We literally went two days in a row! We also tried two different savory: The California and the Milano! Both delicious and very, very filling! Stopped by on a Tuesday morning for some brunch. The place was decorated incredibly well with plenty of pumpkins for fall. Lots of outdoor seating with heaters for this chilly day! FYI - you walk inside to order. We sat around like fools for a while, waiting for a server to take our order (oops). I believe we got the Blackstone Benedict (?) and the Cajun / crab benedict. There was some crab shell in the dish, which is unfortunate, but at least we know it was real! The food was hot, portions were large, and the seasoning was perfect. Will definitely be back. I've been here twice- once recently and the food is just as good as I remember! The pineapple mimosa is amazing and the serving sizes are generous. It's right on university avenue, which is great for walking around after brunch. The only drawback I see to this place is that if you want to get something else (another side dish, another drink) you need to go to the counter and re-order. If you have kids, friends that can't agree to have the same kind of food, or you don't know what you want to have for lunch/dinner, this is that place, the menu it's super extended, and they have a taste for everything and I mean it. One of my kids wanted to have Italian and she got the Palermo pasta which was delish, my elder son wanted middle eastern food and to get super cx shawarma, and my little one just hamburgers they look pretty good and he liked them. My meal wasn't tasty :( I love Crepevine for their sweet crepes but it was a late lunch so I decide to have a ham and cheese mmm no good at all was super skinny and super greasy, that's why I didn't take a pic, but it any way we love our late lunch at the beautiful set up outside and the servers was very attentive 5 stars.
