Avoid the late-night trap. I came here on a Saturday night mostly because it was the only Thai spot still open. I called my order in ahead of time, but it didn't matter--I still ended up waiting 30 minutes standing around once I arrived. I didn't actually walk out with my food until 1:30 AM. The wait might have been forgivable if the food was good, but it was a massive disappointment: * Papaya Salad (1/5): Completely lacked flavor. * Shrimp Fried Rice: I paid for a full entree and received a grand total of 4 shrimp. * Combination Chow Mein: This was a joke. It tasted and looked exactly like a pack of Indomie instant noodles. The only redeeming quality was the crispy pork itself, but one decent item doesn't make up for a 1:00 AM headache and overpriced "instant" noodles. Absolutely loved love this restaurant! Located in the heart of Little Saigon in Westminster. Such a lovely restaurant that opens late!!! We came here bc we both were craving authentic Thai food. I wanted Chinese broccoli with crispy pork and my partner wanted the pineapple fried rice so I took to yelp and found this place. There was another location in Garden Grove. Not sure if it's the same owner or if they're affiliated, however we arrived we were greeted immediately and sat down immediately. Service was quick and friendly. Dishes we ordered were very authentic tastes just like the way my mom would make it. The crispy pork cooked with the Chinese broccoli had a good amount of flavor and when I chewed, you could hear the crunch in the crispy pork. So good! Establishment is huge with lots of tables clean and the service again was fantastic. Very good for a large group date night or even dining alone. I've tried the crispy pork gang out in LA & I'm glad there's one in the OC (I may be new to this). I ordered the Thai basil with pork and the portions were great. This was definitely enough for 2 people. I ordered it to go and the rice was nice & soft and the entree itself was flavorful! Parking here was fine & upon entering the server was friendly. I frequent this place and they never disappoint. I'm not entirely sure what their hours are but they seem to be open late and into the mornings, which has come in clutch numerous times. The vibe here is really spacious, and the chairs are super tall so it always feels like I have enough privacy to really dig in and eat. I would say my favorite dish here is the Super Pad Thai. It has crispy pork belly and is to die for. The sweetness and the saltiness is there too, so it's a great Pad Thai. I also really love their combination fried rice and their Crispy Pork dish. Both are super rich and packed with flavor. And obviously, the Mango Sticky Rice is a must. Overall, I highly recommend this place for its reliability and great dining experience. Although the restaurant is beautiful, it was a little bit of a weird experience because I had a non-Thai server who seemed to be like a fish out of water and I felt like I was bothering him with different requests. I'm so accustomed to going to the one in Thai town with the servers being extremely polite whereas this guy made me feel like I was wasting his time to ask for condiments and chopsticks because I ordered a tom Yum noodle soup which wasn't super tasty. At least the chicken fried rice that I got did taste good. I should've known better to eat at a Thai restaurant in the middle of little Saigon and should've eaten some good Vietnamese food instead. To say I was so disappointed would be an understatement, I wanted so much to give them a chance but I was wrong, here is my point, would you go to an Indian restaurant to have French food? of course not so why would anyone go to this Laotian restaurant to have Thai food, their cuisine, culture, etc.. are vastly different even if they are neighbors. This used to be another restaurant that I loved but never went back bc it was cold like in the North pole, I'm mad as hell so many restos waste so much money running AC when its cold outside or have no heat when its 65F inside. The interior was a glorious sight, everything was well appointed, well done by the previous owner. Yelp stated tom yum was $9.99, it was $16! big difference. The soup was edible but it was not authentic, how can they make tom yum wo galanga? it's a cousin of ginger, it has a delicious flavor unique to Thai food, they put a lot of tomato that I like but the Thai Tom Yum has no tomato, sometime they put string beans or just a lot of straw or regular mushrooms. I rate this a 2.0 it can be a 3 but I was very upset, I told them NOT SPICY LIKE 2 OUT OF 5, what I got was 4 out of 5, my mouth was all blistered inside. The chicken sate was a complete joke, meat was not marinated, not grilled just cooked in the oven, very bland. The peanut sauce was even a bigger joke, what were they thinking? it was so gross, just right out of the peanut jar, zero taste other than thick peanuts! it's a waste of $16. I was glad I did not order pad see euw. If they can't make chicken sate, they won't know how to cook a pad see euw, prove me wrong. That said, I wanted to try the Jon Pon? what is that? my husband quickly vetoed the idea, so no, I'm not going back, just stay away from Laotian and Cambodian fake Thai restaurants, there are enough real THAI restos here. Albeit it isn't the greatest Asian food I've ever had, this place never fails to quench something that I crave. For me, this is the go-to location when everything is closed because it is one of the only places willing to be open. A wide range of Asian food from Thai to Chinese to Viet. When I go past 1-2 am, there is a person just sitting there waiting to serve someone. I come and the only people in that restaurant is me, my friend, some stranger, and this man working the register. We order, food comes out in 5-8 minutes, we eat, we are stuffed, we pay, and we are on our way. Not much noise, not much talking to anyone, just you, the food, and your friend (or yourself). Updated review. The food is still great here. I highly recommend it although I'm wondering if they have a new owner now? As there is now a bit of an identity issue for a Thai restaurant they now have Vietnamese and Chinese food in their menu. Also I noticed on their menu their name now has and Grill in it. Gone are the small item deals they had last time. Also for them being the Crispy Pork Gang, they still lack offering a small side order plate of crispy pork. They only offer an entree size with an entree price. The Thai Town location offers it. Service last night was amazing and the server was very attentive. They did add in extra tables again with booths that have high backs to them offering privacy and it was clean. They are still open late. The curry was very flavorful as well as the hot and sour soup. Hubby had the yen ta foe soup and loved it. They no longer charge a service charge for using a credit card and they have signs everywhere. They did take down all the pictures in the windows but their new menus do have photos in them. We will definitely return. read more

I notified the waitress and she did dispose of it but i don't know if after she got rid of it was she wearing the same gloves when she handed me the check. What's sucks was that I don't think I even ate a quarter of my meal and I still had to pay for it. And she had the nerve to say the cockroach came from outside. When I was about to review this CRISPY PORK GANG in the WESTMINSTER location this place had closed, and when I saw just now that they are open back up again, I called the restaurant to confirm and the lady on the phone said they were closed due to their Chef went to a vacation or something and now the chef is back and they are open back up again. But as always, we end up going home around 4 or 6 in the morning because they still want to hang out more, even though they have already eaten multiple times at Six Flags and spent lots of hours together at 6 flags While we are still driving back home they will still find a reason to stay longer together by looking at where to eat and hang out more. Among the dishes that we ordered, I love the one that my husband got, it has 3 different kinds of meats and it's very yummy, even the noodles are perfectly cooked. The red curry was very bland, like slightly creamy water. The Tom Kha was also bland and had significant separation of coconut milk from the soupy base. The worst was the green curry. Their green curry used to be our favorite dish. It was very flavorful, sweet , creamy, savory and just enough spice. Today's was simply inedible! It was super sour, salty.. my wife described it as a really bad enchilada sauce flavor! We didn't take more than 2 bites of any of these dishes. And the rice was really mushy! I'll admit, I wanted to come here because of the name. Who doesn't want to be a member of a crispy pork gang, anyways? I am glad we made this one of the late night eat spots. The gang noodle (what we would consider the gang initiation dish) was tasty and was perfect in a cold foggy evening. I really like the crispy pork and we will need to figure out how to add it to other dishes. I think they can do it for $5 or something like that. I was really worried about the pad thai dish. To be honest, it looks so white in all of the photos, like there is no tamarind. I was worried that this would be a bland plate of nastiness, but was pleasantly surprised that the flavor was good and the crushed peanuts was with ample supply. We ordered the mango sticky rice to take home and like the pad Thai, it looks extremely underwhelming, but when opening the lid, you can smell the coconut in the rice. I would recommend. This place opens very late on certain days. Call them just to be sure. I believe till 430am on weekends. So prices are bit high but you're paying for convenience of having good tasting food in the dawn hours of the night in O.C. of all places. And you can have them prep it go too. This review is for their late night food delivery via DoorDash. They took over an hour to make the order. The crispy pork pieces were stale, rock hard and fibrous and tasted like they had been left out all day under a heat lamp. The lao papaya salad was so foul and salty that I threw the entire thing away- they overused the fermented shrimp paste and fish sauce and it was truly one of the most disgusting things I've ever had delivered. Pineapple curry was undercooked and they gave me shrimp curry when I ordered chicken. There were 6 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish. They did not give us any rice to go with it. Pad see ew was flavorless and soggy. The Thai sausage was good but I'm sure it's not made in house. It was $17 for one sausage and some cut up raw cabbage and onions. I paid $88 to be sorely disappointed. This is the second time I've ordered from here, and thought the first time must have been a fluke. They won't fool me another time. read more

My wife loves crispy pork and this place seems like they double fry. Fry to the point that it feels like it's airy. Anyhow we went on a weekday lunch. Very few people were there. To me, this is a bad sign but we got the food and was good. My wife had crab fried rice with extra crispy pork. They overcharged (had them fix it) so I'd make sure you check your bill. All in all, I felt they it wasn't as good as Thai town. It wasn't cheap but it was close to sapp coffee house. I think I have to try their other location in Anaheim. read more
