HOLY COW. So good!! I wasn't too hungry when I went here so I was lame and got the simple 2 eggs meal with choice of bacon or sausage and grits or potatoes. Whatever eggs they use are phenomenal, the sausage was out of this world, and the potatoes were perfect! The best part....the biscuit!! So fluffy and delicious and they make their own butter, pineapple jelly, and strawberry jelly. Words can't describe it. Other people ordered the smokey scramble and the brisket bowl thing and said it was the best brunch they've ever had. The service was great too - quick and super friendlu! The service staff thinks they are funny. Unfortunately their terrible comedy didn't stop us from walking out. Our server Chris assumes a lot which is his first problem. I ordered orange juice and coffee and he commented on me ordering them together and called it gnarly. Worry about your own digestive system. I ordered the open face brisket and the food arrived cold. I had a side of grits and ordered an additional side of potatoes. Chris or whatever tried to correct me by saying my order comes with one side. Duh smart ass. I can read and order all by myself like a big girl. The grits came out tasting like something other than grits. And they served my potatoes with 2 extra fried eggs... I was so confused. My mate went to get the manager and was told to go wait at the table. The chef came out to defend the cold food and terrible service. Too late. Went with a Groupon, not all restaurants will be as friendly and hassle free with a coupon or Groupon. Jeff and the waitress went out of their way to make me feel at home and welcomed. The potato hash is too DIE for!!! its really funny cause I am a grits girl, don't usually eat potato's. The bacon wasn't quiet as crispy as I liked but the flavor was spot on. I will be back! Found this gem on yelp. The breakfast was soo good the best chicken and waffles I've ever had! The brisket biscuit was amazing as well. The ingredients all are very fresh. It was so good we bought more BBQ to go as we had a 4 hour drive home and we didn't want to stop any where else for lunch because we would have been disappointed. Went here for lunch with my wife after pulling up a scout mob special. They wouldn't honor it saying they just removed the listing while I was sitting there. Shouldn't this be against the rules if they were listed in Scoutmob? I would think there would at least be a time period before they can reject them. The food was pretty good, service was great and the sad part is we would have gone back again. The chef? came out and said to my face he wouldn't honor it as he just removed it. Not the best business ethics IMHO. I lost $8 from the deal, he lost a customer and someone who will not recommend them again. We would have left happy with a great impression. I was underwhelmed by the experience after reading great reviews. There was only a few people in there when we walked in and we were seat right by the kitchen/office. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable. The wait staff was very nice. I got the pulled pork scramble and the pork had a ton of fat on it. There was very little actual pork. I am from Jacksonville Florida and had no idea of a place for me and my wife to go. So we tried Crooked Tree restaurant and it was phenomenal. From the very tasteful and seasoned food, all the way down to the professional loving care we got from our waitress Mary she was awesomely amazing loved her!!!! It's just not there yet. I want to like this place, but they're trying too hard to be gourmet when they haven't mastered the basics. I had breakfast here shortly after they opened & my food was good, but the service was slow & some of the food was cold. Went back for lunch today & while the meats were good, things, like the french fries, were not cooked well or, like the poblano slaw, don't have enough flavor . In addition to that, things are not well described on the menu. It's a good thing I'm adventurous because thier "chicken salad" is not a traditional chicken salad. Not that it was bad, it's just that there's no description on the menu & it's not what you expect when you order chicken salad, and since it uses the pablano slaw for its primary flavor, kinda bland. The service was again friendly, but very very slow & it seemed that our waiter was kind of confused by our requests for items with/without some toppings & sides. I am a strong supporter of locally owned businesses & locally grown food, but Crooked Tree needs to step up thier game. read more

We went there this morning because we were looking for somewhere interesting and new to have brunch. I am not impressed, and we will never be back. We are normally very forgiving of hiccups in a small restaurant, but this place is a hot mess - nothing was right from the table to the service to the food. The table and booth were both wobbly and needed replacing. After waiting for the waitress for at least 5-10 min, the wrong drink order was delivered. Then, the food took nearly 40 minutes to be delivered. There were multiple open tables, even though their excuse for slow food was that it was Sunday and they were too busy. (huh?) When we got the food, the smothered biscuits tasted like the gravy had been cooked in a dirty, burnt pan. The French toast was soggy. Grits were a bowl of melted cheese with a few grits mixed in. I am now sitting at home feeling a little nauseous from our meal. Ugh, no thanks. I'm honestly not sure how they still have over 4 stars on Yelp as there are many much better places in the area. read more

Decided to try this place on a Sunday at noon. They were crowded, but there was still a few empty tables and no wait. It took us about 20 minutes for a waitress to notice we were there after we sat down, and another 10 to get our drinks to us. Food was really good though. Biscuits were delicious and my eggs were cooked perfectly. My family enjoyed their barbecue meat with their breakfasts as well. Overall worth a try, just wish the service was better. read more

I echo everything positive said about this place. I'm an outsider passing through and had the best breakfast I can remember ever having. I thought the barbecue would make things too heavy but it wasn't heavy at all. Instead it was loaded with flavor. The homemade butters are very unique. All in all, it's a breakfast experience that's different but incredibly tasty, and you can see the care that goes into the ingredients and preparation. I would charge $20+ for the $10 scramble dish I had with chicken (and ordered a second dish with brisket) where I'm from in Philly and wouldn't hesitate to charge so much. Coffee is also excellent and made specifically for the restaurant. If you're deciding between the "best of Marietta breakfast" list on Yelp, don't be fooled by the #4 rating. The chicken was a gray color and they do not serve any condiments for the biscuit and panckes other than their own house mixed items, which were not very good. We found Crooked Tree Cafe while checking out the new Braves Sun Trust Park Stadium. It seemed to be a cool, eclectic little place, so we were all looking forward to trying it out. My husband had the brisket grilled cheese, which features in-house smoked brisket. It was pretty tasty, though his potatoes were cold and one of his eggs was cooked hard instead of over easy. I had the mushroom scramble and it was also very good. Thankfully, my potatoes were not cold. I also added a side of their grits with cheese and they were cooked nicely and had very good flavor. My daughter had the chicken gravy and biscuits and she enjoyed that dish as well. Overall, it was a good meal and if I was in the area, I may go back to sample some more of the homemade strawberry and pineapple jelly. read more

One dish came out lacking an entire side, which as it turns out they were out of that day. Why send out food without telling your customers you are out of a key ingredient? We were waiting outside for the doors to open at 8: I should have known it was not going to be the greatest experience when the Bleached blonde waitress unlocked the door and turned and walked away. Didn't open the door much less even greet us. She walked to our table, handed us the menus--again, never speaking nor making eye contact. When we gave her our order she took the menus, and walked off. It was like that the entire time. Look, if you can't speak or make eye contact with the people who are basically paying your salary, then you don't need to be a server. Hands down THE most impersonal server I've ever had. Came here when my regular brunch place was too crazy. Excellent choice! Had roasted banana pancakes, side of scrambled eggs and bacon. The pancakes were fluffy and amazing and the eggs were also delicious. You can't mess up bacon, so nothing shocking there. Coffee was on the mediocre (and lukewarm) side, but everything else more than made up for it. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other options. read more

Crooked Tree Cafe is on Cobb Parkway, just north of Walker School. It's a breakfast, lunch and catering spot. I looked it up a few years back and they received excellent reviews. The owner is a chef. Also, their website makes it clear that it is a family business. My reluctance to try it has been because every time I pass there, the parking lot is empty. I was up that way recently, so I thought this time I'll actually give them a try. Sure enough, not one vehicle was in the customer parking lot. I decided to keep driving. After proceeding a short distance, I abruptly changed my mind. I made a u turn; parked and walked in the restaurant. Not a single patron. The waitress took me to a booth and I perused the menu. I couldn't resist the brisket breakfast plate. The brisket was perfect; not the least bit dried out. The breakfast potatoes were exquisite. Chunks of potatoes, each browned and slightly crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. The biscuit I ordered came out just right and I was given a little cup of both homemade pineapple and strawberry jam. I noticed that some of the items on the menu suggest they were created by a chef. What made the experience even better is that the speakers were broadcasting a mix of late sixties and early seventies classic rock. That was truly honey to my ears.
