Have you ever wanted the perfect breakfast sandwich? Look no further. This little location in the heart of San Francisco has it. We went here for a quick stop for coffee and sandwich. We ordered the The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich which basically melts in your mouth with every bite. It's hard to explain. Your gonna have to try it and see for yourself. It's perfect in every way. Soft, buttery and full of flavor. Pastries are super good. We tried the pan au chocolate too and was yummy. Small place with tables outside but it's cute and has great food. Highly recommend
This is a charming spot for coffee, smoothies, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches and more. Staff were sweet. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant was spotless (and quaint/small). There's counter seating along the window inside. Tables and chairs are available outside. Food was fresh and good.
Such a cute little hole in the wall cafe! The outdoor seating seriously reminds me of New York, and there's also a few seats inside if you want to sit in. The coffee is AMAZING. I got both a vanilla latte and a regular latte and they were super creamy, delicious, and a really good size. Coffee came out fast too, which I always appreciate. The sandwiches were easily some of the best I've ever had, and it was the perfect breakfast that kept me fueled the entire day. I ordered the fresh mozzarella and avocado sandwich with basil pesto, tomatoes, arugula, and balsamic on ciabatta. I added eggs for extra protein ($2.50 more) and WOW, so worth it. They absolutely load it up!! We did wait a little bit for the sandwiches, but everything was super fresh and made with care. I will absolutely be coming here all the time, and if you live in the area I highly recommend checking this place out!
Super cute, cozy cafe in lower nob! Stopped by on a saturday morning for breakfast -- decent amount of seating outdoors, but limited tables inside. Crostini & Java. I am still glad that i got to stumble upon this cafe. The sandwiches are made with precision and care. Delicious! Their smoothies are amazing! The strawberry smoothie kept me coming back again and again. The owner and the ladies are quite friendly and happy folks. But mind you, this place gets real busy. They have very very limited sitting space including the outdoor sitting so it is on you. lol. Not too pricey at all. Whoever wandering around the city of San Francisco, please welcome! Morning coffee with a spoon of collagen? Early brunch with a smoothie? You get the idea. I am sure you won't be disappointed as much!
Super cute corner shop that is really small but offers a variety of items on their menu. They serve breakfast and lunch items all day!! Service: 5/5 Friendly, quick, and efficient service. You'd order at the front and the employees will call your name once your order is ready or come outside to give it to you if you're seated outside. Food: 4/5 French lavender latte - Creamy and strong but I personally lavender was a bit too overwhelming. Smoked salmon and eggs croissant - A little too oily to my liking and small amount of eggs inside, but it was so flavorful that I actually enjoyed it.
My brother, Lane and I stumbled upon Crostini & Java on our first day in San Francisco on the way to Swans Oyster Depot. We already got coffee that morning, but it was definitely something I wanted to come back and check out since the line was out the door. We came around 11am debating if we were just going to get coffee or also grab something to eat. Since we were short on time we decided to get two sandwiches and eat it there. I had the salmon cream cheese croissant with an iced peanut butter latte and Lane ordered the california crunch with salmon and a hot mocha. I loved the flavor of the peanut butter latte, but there were many sips where I had straight peanut butter. Wasn't a problem, but definitely a bit too much sometimes haha. Lane and I decided to split half half on his sandwiches. Both were humongeous I only ended up eating half of the one I ordered. Delicious and satisfied. Lane mentioned how good his sandwich was and was adding sriracha mayo to it. I had fomo just watching him eat it cause it looked so good. It is very tiny in there with limited seating, but very intimate and homey feeling. Would definitely return if I was ever in the area!
I wanted to grab a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich and came across this one on Yelp. There is no parking. We had to circle the block before I decided to get out And order while he looked for parking. It's a small location. There's were people waiting outside while they waited for their orders. They have 2 tables with seating outside that were taken at the time and a bar sitting inside near an open window. I placed an order for a large caramel macchiato and a smoked salmon and cream cheese on an everything bagel. The coffee came out with in 5 minutes but the sandwich took about 10 minutes. The coffee was soft in taste. The bagel sandwich was ok. The salmon was primary in one area because I took a couple of bite with no salmon. It was a 3/5.
This little spot is well lit, on a busy corner, but it's the perfect hideaway to sit and sip and watch the world hurry by. I ordered a matcha latte and a pain au raisin. Both were perfect and just the taste I was looking for. This place makes a morning in Nob Hill the beginning of a great day.
Crostini & Java has become my go-to spot whenever I need a quick pick-me-up during my lunch break. I always (and happily) get The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich -- it's seriously SO good. I usually substitute the meat for chicken and swap the maple sauce for rosemary aioli, and it's perfect every single time. The staff is always so kind and welcoming, and the service is quick and efficient, which is perfect when I'm on a break. They also have a punch card program -- if you buy 9 coffee drinks or 9 lunch sandwiches, you get the 10th free, which is such a nice touch. Such a cozy little spot I'm really grateful to have nearby. Highly recommend!
Cute small corner cafe with a small amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The sandwich menu is huge and everything sounds yummy! Lots of coffee and smoothie options too. I got the works bagel which came on an everything bagel and had bacon egg avocado and a really good maple dijon sauce! Super big portions and very flavorful and fresh. The sauce was delicious. Reasonable prices too. Service was super friendly and the food was ready quite fast. Would definitely come back for a quick breakfast or lunch!

Great place for coffee and a quick bite to eat. The way that they cook eggs makes the English breakfast sandwich a bit wet and slippery and messy to eat, but the flavor (mostly provided by the maple sauce) is delicious. The place itself is quite small but they provide a surprising amount of seating. Great menu, great service. I would come back again! read more

I really enjoyed the crunch toast topped with thinly sliced avocado, fluffy eggs on top of thin layer of tangy herb sauce. My husband ordered the sandwich with egg, spinach,bacon and tomato with a layer of sweet Mayo sauce on the bottom. This is a great place for breakfast sandwiches and a hardy smoothie. Located on top of the hill, it's a walk up but definitely worth it. Having a seat outside, people watching, and enjoying their food is a nice SF experience. I came last Saturday early noon and ordered a breakfast sandwich with pesto sauce on the side. OMG their pesto sauce is like no other and probably the best pesto sauce I've ever tried. I dipped my bagel sandwich into this pesto sauce on every bite. I also loved their breakfast smoothie which had blueberries, coconut milk, oats, and more. It was flavorful and tasted super healthy and delicious. These two items made an excellent pair. This place is pricey for sure; I paid $12 for the bagel and about $11 for the smoothie. It's most definitely worth it and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite in the city. read more

I love this place! I live down the street from here and come at least once a week for a small breakfast and a latte. Not only is the service incredible (lovely and friendly staff) the food and drinks are delicious and affordable, especially for the area. One other thing I really appreciate is that you can swap out the regular milk for nondairy options like oat or almond milk and it only costs like $0.50. I'm so used to spending at least a dollar just to be able to drink lattes etc., due to my lactose intolerance so it's very much appreciated. The espresso tastes really good as well! My go tos are the regular latte, French lavender latte, matcha latte and the mocha all with almond milk. The latte is solid and the flavored drinks aren't too sweet. You can also ask the barista to make the drinks less sweet if you'd like. Also note that they do have a caramel latte for my fellow caramel lovers. It's not on the menu for some reason but I noticed the caramel bottles on the counter, asked about it, and I just got one today and it was good too! As for the food I'm a sucker for avocado toast which is simple and filling enough for me. I love the toasty bread they use as it has a nice texture almost like a huge wheat cracker! I recommend it. I don't normally like my sweet with my savory meals but the honey sauce they put on it is pretty good. It is simple but it works. I am also a fan of the salmon dill crostini which was light and fresh tasting, perfect with a cup of coffee. Seating is limited but there are some tables outside. It can get chilly so be prepared for that but the view is nice. It's a nice place to chat with a friend or two as well! Give this place a shot! I see there are smoothies and sandwiches too and I look forward to trying them. Definitely one of my favorite coffee places in the area. read more

Wonderful quaint place with good coffee and delicious crostinis, sandwiches and bagels. My fave was the Crostini with prosciutto, sliced apples and drizzled with honey. The Turkey Croissant sandwich was also good but a bit rich with the mayo. Also, by the time they add the swizz cheese, tomato slices, it became quite a big snack. Small place with only about 5 chairs inside and two small tables outside . Most people get their food to go. Happy Eating!! read more

Came here for breakfast and it's walking distance from the Holiday inn. The place is super quaint and cute but seating was limited inside and out. We dined in and it was clean and comfortable and our server spoke Spanish and super personable. We had the lavender latte and the Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich. They were super accommodating in making mine with vegetarian and/or vegan options and serving the avocado on the side rather than in the sandwich. They played salsa music; loud enough to enjoy but soft enough to allow for conversation. Overall, a very nice place for a lunch date or coffee with a friend. read more

I just had The Works bagel sandwich and I can confidently say it is the BEST bagel sandwich I have ever had in my life, with no close 2nd. And it's not like I'm somebody who hasn't had a lot of bagel sandwiches! They're one of my favorite breakfast items and seriously, this place is the best one you'll ever have. The flavors!!! Oh my gosh. The maple Dijon has to be one of the most unique condiments ever, and you get a lovely taste of it in every bite. The bagel was fresh and toasty, the eggs were delicious, and the bacon and turkey were incredibly juicy as well. I've wanted to try this place for a long time so I'm glad I finally did and that it lived up to the hype. They also have coffee, lunch sandwiches and delicious pastries -- I can't wait to come back and try everything! ...and by the way, I'm still thinking about the maple Dijon :) I would love to meet the chef behind Crostini & Java so I can thank them in person for expanding my world of flavor!! read more

The first time I went, I did not enjoy it but it turned out they made the latte wrong so the owner graciously gave me a free one and sure enough, it tasted amazing. The lavender latte is very floral and flavorful. To be honest, it still tasted a little too light for me but you can ask them to put more lavender syrup! And I wish they put more ice cus it all melted in just 3 minutes but you can always ask for more ice. I can tell they really care about the customer's satisfaction and it's really nice. I'm definitely going to be trying out their pastries next time! read more

I had a San Francisco layover, and was searching for a breakfast place and found this on Yelp. I ordered the Avocado and Egg Aioli Croissant, and I was given a Bacon & Egg instead. Weird! For some reason, the guy entered my order incorrectly, so I had to wait a little longer for my breakfast. No Big Deal! Mercury is currently in Retrograde, so I just waited patiently. The place is tiny, so it's not suitable for big crowds. However, they have a small sitting area inside, and some outside tables and chairs. My breakfast croissantwich hit the spot, and their coffee was pretty good too! read more

Sooo glad I randomly found this place. I was ungodly sleep deprived and trying to revive myself before the first day of Outside Lands and this absolutely did the trick. The perfect pre-game meal. I got 'The Works' bagel and let me just say ... stunning (picture attached). Flawless ratio of meat to avocado to cheese, all nestled into a beautiful plain bagel. Not to mention the fresh OJ was perfectly tart and sweet. Would definitely go again, except, I do not live in the state. So probably won't be back for a very long time. But highly recc to anyone that is nearby!! Side note: the place has minimal seating. read more

BEST COFFEE CAFE IN THE CITY! Today was my first time coming here and the service was so warm and friendly. The ambiance is amazing and it is very clean. We ordered the iced French lavender latte and the chai latte. The flavor was amazing and it was so smooth. The last time I came to Crostini & Java I didn't have the best experience because of the two smashed croissants I got, but I came back for a second try after the owner explained the situation. I came at the end of the day when the cafe was about to close up, so when I asked for croissants they offered the ones for the sandwhiches without explaining what I was getting. These are typically the ones that are smashed. (Which for the business and for the enviornment/food waste it is nice that they use the not so pretty croissants for a second purpose!) This time around I got a perfectly fluffy croissant and an Earl Grey Latte! The croissant was great this time and the Latte was not what I would typically order but I was happy with it. The tea was strong enough to taste and the milk was frothed just right :) It comes unsweetened and made fresh. They also have iced options. For those croissant lovers like me, go in the morning, not towards the end of the day! Service was quick and super friendly. read more

This place is great, It does not matter if you are a local or a tourist like me... please take a moment to stop by and give this gem a try. The coffee is great, the smoothies are delicious, the sweets are worthy of breaking that diet, and the sandwiches are just We had the breakfast smoothie, almond croissant, ultimate sandwich, and triple espresso don't be discouraged by the line, it moves fast. The best sandwich I've ever had! I like simple but flavorful sandwiches, and the cold cut sandwich was divine! I can't wait to go back. The service was also wonderful, very sweet and genuine people!
