3 meat combo plate - to go
    Maria M.

Its been 3 years since I did my previous review from here (2023) and truly still the same flavorful food. The food is freshly made as you order it. Staff is friendly. I've always taken take out and the place is always looking clean.

I drive an hour and half to come here. Does that make your decision easier to come here! The flavors of each and every meal I've had here is always consistent. My go to is the Lamb Shank Plate. The plate comes with lentil soup and pita to start. Nice big lamb shank, pickled veggies, raw onions and parsley. If they have the Dolma Special get it! You will not be disappointed. The servers and kitchen staff are so welcoming each and every time I love the decor. Giving a glimpse into the past. 5 stars

WOULDNT CHANGE A THING!! I absolutely love this spot. The food? AMAZING The service? AMAZING The decor? BEAUTIFUL Besma was sooo sweet, her lentil soup is out of this world. Everything reminded me of back home Iran. I tell everyone about this place.

Delicious and generous serving of the tashreeb! I didn't realise this restaurant was family style when I came in on a whim. I still ate all the meat though! Great for bodybuilding lol. There was tomatos, bread, onion and whole cloves / peppercorns from what I could tell! A very comforting dish. It reminds me of Vietnamese Bo Kho.

Crown is authentic as it gets in PHX for Mediterranean. I had a Wow, where am I moment when I walked in. Tasteful art work everywhere, it's a unique place. It's been on my radar for quite some time, so I was eager to try. The menu looked awesome. I ordered the Meat Tehka platter which came with Iraqi bread, rice, and charred onions/tomato's. The platter consisted of 12 cubes of beef, which were flavourful, but not as tender as I had hoped and a little on the fatty side. Nonetheless, Crown is a hidden gem. I'd absolutely come back, but likely order something else- like skewers.

Nice authentic Iraqi restaurant. The food arrived quickly was full of flavor. Nice touch of appetizers before the main meal. The service was friendly. The restaurant is a literal definition of the hole in the wall. Definitely clean inside.

Iraqi Beef Kabob plate! So good! The pickle was my favorite but everything had a great flavor.

Accidentally stumbled across this place because the restaurant we were going to was closed but man what a treat!! It is Iraqi style food and everything was so delicious! The service was great and they helped us figure out what to order and how to get the right combination of things. We got the lentil soup with hummus, Iraqi bread and the beef kabob plate. All the flavors were incredible. Will definitely be coming back!

I found Crown Restaurant on Yelp while searching for a restaurant that was rated well and open on Sunday. The photos as well as the menu looked great, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Mashwai Combo as it offered a variety. I hadn't realized that it came with an app. I chose the Baba Ganouj, which came with a tasty pita like bread. Everything was delicious. My server was very friendly and attentive, yet not overbearing. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall and the exterior could use a makeover with a nice sign and removal of all the tacky menu photos all over the windows. The inside could also use an update, including the menus, which haven't been updated in awhile, but it was very clean and tidy. Overall the food is the star here. The service was also excellent. I'll certainly be back.

Came in here for the first time for some authentic Mediterranean food, the food was good very delicious and packed with flavors also really enjoyed the lentil soup, the hummus was okay not a big fan, but everything else was great! The service was good my server was attentive and checked up on us pretty often! The place was cozy could use more decor, but not bad at all, would recommend if in the area it's very good! Doesn't have desserts, but that's okay!! :)

The moment I walked in I was welcomed with the most delicious scent ever. All I know is that I got to try what they offer and that's what I did. The wait for our food didn't took long but it was a good anticipation for the food we ordered. The food itself was a good large portion ( a good size to share as a family ) and oh my goodness the moment I took a bite, my mouth was filled with distinct flavors from each ingredient - dancing around in harmony - completing my craving with full satisfaction. For me, everything has the right flavor, the right kick, and the right taste. It all felt so at home and it made me want to savor each bite. Everything was very new to me but the experience was good. The place itself is quite casual and the service is quick and attentive. :)

I know some of you are uneducated about the quality of a meatball sandwich & that's ok, I'm not judging so do not be offended. To begin... This is a neighborhood place just like back east , nestled in a neighborhood on the corner hidden from the strip mall garbage. When you come here, and you better, do not be distracted by the path to tasty food. It is in an older neighborhood with minimal parking but fantastic personalities, service & FOOD! Upon entry it's a time warp for us who grew up in a time that was better. This is a good Olde Fashion deli that sells great food with amazing service. Franks is a family place. Back to the real topic... Meatball Sandwich; when you ask what is the cheese that use & the owner is educated on quality be states "Provolone on the bottom, Mozzarella on top" just know you're in the right place! The flavor is top notch, added some cherry peppers to spice it up just right, bell peppers & onions are standard. Took it to go, drove about 20 minutes to where I needed to be, the aroma was teasing me, the concern of the sandwich being cold or soggy rang in my mind while driving the 17 to the 10.. I was nervous, anxious & salivating.... Opening the togo container to see the glorious sandwich! The meatballs are still hot, the sauce is holding place & the bread is still bread, not some soggy remnant of dough! Thank you for the pride, quality & tasty sandwich.

Overall, there were definitely more hits than misses. The deli offers an impressive variety of hot foods. The sandwiches coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, and there are plenty of pasta dishes and traditional Italian entrées available as well. We didn't order a hot meal on this visit, but we'll definitely be back to try one. The market section is also worth browsing. They carry a wide selection of pastas, sauces, olive oils, canned tomatoes, and other Italian staples. My only suggestion would be to expand the specialty pasta selection with options like squid ink, spinach, or roasted red pepper varieties. Of course, we couldn't leave without visiting the bakery case. We brought home an assortment of Italian cookies, a black and white cookie, a Napoleon, chocolate cannolis, and a brownie. The brownie was the one item that didn't impress us, but everything else was delicious and tasted fresh. One thing to be aware of is parking. The lot is quite small, and both we and several other customers ended up parking across the street. It's not necessarily something the business can control, but it's worth mentioning if you're visiting during a busy time. The fact that this shop has been around for decades says a lot about the quality and loyal customer base they've built over the years. Overall, we had a very good experience and are looking forward to returning to explore more of the deli offerings.

If you look at the reviews, it talks about how long the pizza takes - about 20 minutes because they hand make the dough. It took a long time to get service. It looked like there was one waitress and one bus boy when we got there. When she did bring us our drinks, I asked if I should order my pizza now since I was the only one ordering pizza. I didn't want my food to hold up everyone else's because it will take 20 minutes (minimum) So I did. Pizza came out in 10 minutes and no one else at my table ordered yet because she never came back. I had to look for her as my pizza was getting cold and I didn't want to eat while no one had their food. She came took my pizza and threw it under a heat lamp which kind of made the cheese stiff but with that - it was surprisingly good. Hubby ordered a cheese steak sandwich and liked it. My Daughter ordered the boneless wings and said it was really good (my husband had a couple and agreed) and her hubby had sliders and liked it. It was fun playing the Family Feud game. We did come in third. Like I said, food was good. Service wasn't great. Just not my type of place. It did look like another waitress came in close to us leaving. I did see our waitress grabbing drinks at the bar too so she may have had just too much to do.
