This is our property management company and I live in a small new community that requires very little maintenance. The landscapers and gardeners are always very friendly and they even put up holiday lights on our gate least year. I also like how they stop leaf blowing when people walk by (totally courteous) and cut the vines that creep up our front wall without me even asking However, other than the gardeners, the people who "manage" our property are nowhere to be seen. I paid HOA dues like a good homeowner and I didn't really think of what my $ was going toward. Then, I actually needed assistance from Crummack Huseby and they didn't reply to me for months. I have had a light cover missing in front of my garage since May. I have called the previous community manager, sent an email to the current manager, sent an email to some random person who was a contact on a company flyer, left two work orders on their website, and while doing this left three ways to reach me: phone / email and my husband's email. I thought that waiting since May is pretty damn patient. However, when they decided the fix my issue in September, it appeared that all they did was take the light cover from MY NEIGHBOR right next to me. So now, I have a light cover, but my neighbor does not. Pretty messed up right? I emailed them and all they said was, "well, that is odd. I don't know why they would do that." No follow-up or anything. How lazy!?! Note that the one other time I had to contact them was when they gave us an undeserved late fee. Luckily, they took the charge off our bill. Also, they use a towing company that tows vehicles not on our "safe list" without batting an eye, but somehow they can't properly replace a light cover. And a work order takes 4 months to complete! This laziness and disregard for customers who pay for their service is disappointing. read more

Beware of this company. I am an association member and I asked to inspect the records for my association, in accordance with the Davis-Sterling act. I have a right to see the records for free, but they are saying they need a $100 per hour "administration fee" for me to see the records. I am not asking for copies to be mailed or sent, nor am I asking for redacted records, so there is no provision for such a fee, but they are sticking to it and not allowing me to see the records of my association. Unbelievable! I may have to sue them to get access - we'll see what happens next..... In addition to the above, they're also the management company on a rental property we have in Irvine. I contacted them to fix a leaking sprinkler head in that property a while back. It took approximately 6 months and literally dozens and dozens of emails to push and push and push them to get the sprinkler head fixed. It was eventually fixed, but it took a heroic amount of effort to get this simple repair done.... Like I said - Beware! read more

We've lived in Northpark for 17 years, a CH-managed property in Irvine. Every interaction I've had with Margo and her team has been a positive experience. The HOA is extremely efficient and well-run, and our several requests for common-area repairs were handled promptly and expertly. What's causing me to write this review now are the stellar reviews of the gate attendants I've received recently from friends and vendors. They say that Northpark gate attendants are always helpful and friendly, compared with the often brusque and downright hostile treatment they receive at entrances to other gated communities. One friend recently said: "The people at your gate really seem to like their jobs, not like some others who seem to hate what they're doing." In addition, the community's landscaping is first-rate. Northpark's common areas are beautifully maintained. With 1,600+ homes and 600+ acres (I looked it up!) I'm amazed at how CH can provide such outstanding upkeep with such reasonable monthly HOA dues. Based on my experiences at Northpark and visiting many other communities in Orange County, I'd recommend CH without reservation. read more

Months late, unreliable service. It is like they don't know the CCR guidelines of the communities they manage. The community manager changed 3-4 times without letting us know, only to find out that they quit. The only time a homeowner knows who was managing was at meetings that can happen quarterly or when a repair request was submitted and the email bounced back. Homeowners can suspect the integrity of the board when violations can be seen in public, like misuse of the recreational area or how long it took to apply infractions. read more

It's an absolute shame and pathetic how people have taken to Yelp as a means of retaliating to HOA management companies for doing their jobs. Being on the HOA board or operating as the property manager are thankless jobs. Most have absolutely no clue the amount of work that goes into keeping the beautiful community around you, well...beautiful. It's only when people have issues, need a dog to kick, or get in an argument with their spouse when they decide to attend a board hearing or call the property manager. Yes, people get towed because they park illegally, they're cited for landscaping because it looks like crap, and yes, when you bought your house, the C,C,&R was a part of the ten thousand pages you signed for. Not the management company to provide another copy for you! Our property manager, Christine was working past 10pm, on a Friday night, to get all the contracts out for signature, invoices paid, and summaries sent to the board. Crummack Huseby has been the management company for the over 1600 homes at the guard gated Northpark since 2000 and the community is immaculate. Our home values and desirability are direct reflection of the continued diligence, professionalism, and management of the team at Crummack Huseby. I would recommend Crummack Huseby over any of a dozen management companies I've worked with over the years in the course of developing communities, building homes, and forming HOAs. I am thankful. I am grateful. And I am so happy to live in such a wonderful community. read more

They are a self interested management company who thrive in communities that don't have active residents. They force feed their agenda that's not in the best interest of the communities they manage. The service companies they choose to do business with are inferior. Our spa/pool has not worked for over a year...excuse after excuse after excuse. Pointing blame at everyone except themselves for not employing a reputable company to do the repair. Also engaging a security company that sleeps on the job, urinates in the parking lot, and does not have a phone number for individuals to contact. Shady operation. This is a shell company used for fraud, its a complete scam. They work with shady tow companies that come tow your car at night, whether or not you're parked legally. They encourage the landscapers to block your driveway, forcing you to street park where they can easily tow your car. You can try and appeal these illegal car seisures, but Crumack Huseby will fight residents tooth and nail to make sure they receive absolutely no recourse. They charge you monthly fees that are not used to maintain the community whatsoever. they raise rates at least 4-5 times per year. Every single employee here has zero morals or work ethic. I am currently looking to hire a class action attorney to review this widespread corruption and fraud. read more

Updating my review, and hopefully it'll be helpful to those who are involved with HOAs or have dealt with them. Crummack Huseby is a property management company and their job is to manage the property (obviously) in accordance with the CC&Rs that everyone agrees to when purchasing a home and moving in. Any rules or regulations that seem "bad" or "dumb" are (largely) not up to CH. What I've noticed about CH is that they're very by-the-books. Jamie Gould and Sue Evans have worked with me before and that is the conclusion I have reached. They have looked into my sub-HOA's CC&Rs to help and see what can be done in certain circumstances, but sometimes their hands are tied. There are sometimes indirect workarounds that can be found, though. But that's a case-by-case. I have not been the biggest fan of my sub-HOA board and its members. CH's responsibility is to carry out what the board members want. They can (and have, in my observation) advise against or in favor of certain rules or proposals, but it's the board that makes the decision. My previous 1 star rating was more appropriate for the board at the time, not necessarily CH. Parking, towing, and other rule enforcement is up to everyone's board. Parking is managed by the board. CH, to my knowledge, doesn't tow cars or report cars. Board members manage the parking enforcement and towing of cars. For homeowners/residents who are angry about parking issues, your anger is better directed at the board members for instituting those rules rather than CH for just carrying out what your board has wanted. I also want to be transparent: Jamie reached out to me after I left my 1 star review. She said that the CEO personally asked Jamie to contact me to see if there was anything that could be done to adjust my review. The company does take Yelp reviews seriously, and since they reached out and explained themselves (and working with Sue, our new property manager, has been a pleasure as well), I figured that I would take the time and update my review. For the sake of transparency, I am leaving my previous review and just updating it. But I hope that this honest review can help clear things up for potential Yelpers. read more

Omar has been super helpful in working with me when the patrol company mistakenly towed my car without fair warning/a citation. The patrol company caused me a huge inconvenience both time and money (paying the tow company to release my car). Omar was responsive and followed up with the patrol company numerous times and finally got them to agree to reimburse me for the towing fee. This is an extremely unorganized business. After resolving an infraction and obtaining "sign off" that the infraction had been resolved, I continued to receive violation notices and a fine from CH. Next, I was overcharged monthly dues, and although they acknowledged a refund is owed, I haven't received the refund after nearly a month. They seem to care about the communities they manage but don't have much common sense. Bought a new property that unfortunately is managed by Crummack Huseby. We pay $280 a month in fees and I can't even get a phone call returned from Ariel who is supposed to be our contact. This has been going on since I moved in back in July. On top of this she did not listen to the concerns of the HOA and enacted a parking system that makes absolutely no sense and doesn't solve our problem and makes the lives of the home owners harder. Taking Fees and not providing the adequate security. Had I known before buying the house I would have not purchased. Few years ago, there was a good service and my problems always got solved right away with Gennie, but I guess she left. And recently, I emailed several times regarding parking permit. We just need to extend for two months. Simple enough to solve this problems if they just send the request. Everything I provided in the email, but no response for more than a month. Until we got a warning ticket. I wrote another email to Melissa Y, assistant manager, she replied me after 2 weeks, which we are no longer need her help because my visitor left. This is a new community in Irvine and I have dealt with them a lot for construction of my outdoor landscape, installing my pool and solar panels. Absolutely trash. The workers don't even try to help, they don't answer your phone calls or emails. When you send the email, all you get back is "sorry, I am out of the vacation". Then why you guys work? You can just have your vacation every day. They really sucks. I try to apply parking permit for half a month, no help, no answer. They tell me find a accommodation outside.
