This pizza is delicious. I usually order the Venus and the artichoke and olive one. Both fantastic. Delivery is always early or on time. I think the price is very affordable. I usually order 2 12 inch pies and it's cheaper than the large at some other places. The ingredients on their specialty pizzas are fresh and well thought out. Really great gourmet style pizza. The crust is flaky and crisp. It's not too saucy. When I'm in the mood for fancy shmancy pizza this is always my go to. read more

Fabulous pizza! I ordered the Venus, and the balance of ingredients was terrific. Would have been 5 stars, except pizza arrived almost 30 minutes past when Toast said it would arrive - took almost 90 minutes, total, but at least the pizza wasn't cold. Absolutely fantastic pizza! Great fresh tasting crushed tomato sauce, fresh ingredients, just the right amount of cheese, and just phenomenal crunchy on the outside soft on the inside french baguette style crust. Personal Favorites: Venus - I'm not a huge sausage fan but this sausage is really good. T.C. - Get is without the pineapples if that's not your thing, but try it once with. The combination of sweet, spicy, and tangy pickled jalapenos is perfect. Mushroom and white onion. The mushrooms are fresh and really good, not your typical slimy pizza mushrooms. Charlie salad - our personal favorite but really, every salad they offer is better than almost every other pizza place out there. Crushed like ORD before them pays attention to the ingredients and the details in making a pizza and it shows. Note: If you used to order sliced tomatoes from ORD be advised they are no longer offered. Ask for cherry tomatoes or you'll get sun-dried (hork) instead of sliced fresh. I missed ORD terribly when they closed but the mojo is back and as good as ever. read more

This place is a little gem in the neighborhood. The pizzas are great! We have tried some of their specialty pizzas and they were all fantastic starting with the crust to the sauce and cheese. Even their most basic cheese pizzas are simply fantastic! I can't rave enough about the crust, it is baked so perfectly and you can tell from the very first bite that the ingredients they use are really good quality. To top things off, the service is so friendly and homely and somehow we always end up with a little treat to go with our take-out :) read more

This place is hit or miss, mostly miss. Their website is down, so you need to call in the order which is where the hit or miss is. Last order, I had asked them to go easy on the cheese for both pizzas. The order taker acknowledged they would go easy on the cheese. Opened the box and sure enough they did not. I suggest to the owner that he just state no special orders. That way his employees can just make pizzas the way they want and not have to make it according to what the customer wants! For my problems they refunded $5 for a $30 order that I had to give away to a neighbor. read more

This is my favorite pizza in Chicago. I'm east-coast biased, so I prefer a traditional hand tossed pizza. There's a few other "pizzerias" I've found in Chicago that claim to be traditional New York-style, but none of them compare to Crushed, and Crushed doesn't even market themselves as New York-style. I feel so lucky to have this place right next to me. Unique but delicious toppings. I'm in the minority (so I have been told) for loving hawaiian pizza... can't help it ... the sweet with the savory hits me in all the right places. Although I'm more of an adventurous eater ... when I eat pizza I'm usually craving a traditional version of it that's comforting. Anywho... crushed has a version of Hawaiian called the "T.C." I've FINALLY found it! After 15 years of living in Chicago, I've finally found the perfect NY-style Neopolitan pizza. Crushed Pizzeria has every element right: the thin crust at the bottom that is crisp, yet soft enough to fold and eat it the way pizza was.meant to be eaten. Yes....in slices cut into triangles instead of stupid tiny squares (there...I said it Chicago); the thicker edge crust with flakey goodness; the thin layer of tomato sauce and cheese that still allows you to taste the richness of the pizza dough and the other ingredients- all in perfect balance. I had a 16" pizza with mushrooms and black olives. The ingredients were super fresh and they didn't skimp at all- every inch of every slice had a thin layer of toppings. All that and the service was great too. The server couldn't have been nicer. I originally ordered for take out but decided to dine in instead. I forgot to order a drink but without asking the server brought me a nice cold bottle of water. If you're looking for amazing pizza, Crushed Pizzeria, well....crushes it! Come here! read more

We tried Crushed last night and had it delivered. The Rose pizza was delicious with a good ratio of toppings and cheese plus a crispy thin crust. We also ordered an excellent spinach salad that had figs, red onion, walnuts, and blue cheese with balsamic dressing. The salad was so fresh and the flavor very well balanced. My husband and I were huge fans of ORD pizza and were sad when it closed. I was walking our dog the other day and noticed Crushed Pizzeria had opened, so we felt we had to try it ASAP. We were both very happy that the pizza was great!!! We ordered for pick-up and got the rose and Margherita pizzas. Both pizzas were very good, but we loved the homemade sauce on the Margherita pizza; it reminded me of my mom's red pizza sauce which is the BEST. Both of the pizzas were ready at the stated time and the staff was nice. Looking forward to getting more pizza from here!! read more

Absolutely delicious pizza, with very reasonable prices and friendly staff. The interior decor has really been improved since the ORD days, too. I had a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage and both were really tasty, greasy (in a really good way) and well seasoned with a crust that was both chewy and crispy at the same time. $4 for a huge slice of pizza (basically 1/8 of a 20") is a pretty damn good deal, too.
