    Northridge Nutter Butter Banana Pudding
    Brianna R.

Why haven't I stopped by Crustees sooner?! I tried their peach cobbler once at a farmer's market years ago and added it to my list. I thought it was a dessert place, but they have lots of savory items that look good, too. I got a Northridge Nutter Butter, which is classic banana pudding with nutter butter cookies and a peanut butter drizzle. Peanut butter and banana is such a good combo, I'm surprised I've never seen this type of banana pudding before. It is SO good. I saw another review that said it's only 4 bites and zero bananas in sight. I believe it's 16oz, so it's a larger portion. Two could share even so the 4 bites thing was comical. As for the bananas, it was light on bananas but I prefer it that way so it comes down to your personal preference. The pudding was light, maybe mixed with whipped cream. I really enjoyed it. I also tried some of the pecan pie and that is good as well! Classic, with the flakiest crust.

If you go on a weekday from 4-6p, you can't park on the street in front of the entrance. I went to grab some apple pies and ended up trying their chili and chili pot pie. Both tasted amazing!! My kids ate them swiftly and left no crumbs. Both were seasoned well and the portion of crust to filling worked well for the pot pie. I especially love that they have a full menu of non-pork options (ground turkey, chicken sausage, etc...). This was my first time, but won't be my last!

I've had Crustees a few times now thanks to their booth at the Beverly Hills Farmers Market. It's so good, I keep coming back for more of their pot pies. The flagship chicken pot pie is probably my favorite of their offerings! It's the perfect combination of chicken, veggies and their homemade chicken cream sauce and the crust. You'll understand why they are called Crustees...it's just unreal and is so well balanced with all the interior components. Second favorite is the curry chicken, also loved the shephard's pie. I really think you can't go wrong with any of their savory options. Get their bigger sized pie as then it's the perfect portion for 2 people to share for a meal. And for $10-13 a pop? Crustees Eatery is fire~!!!

The inside of Crustees! If you have not been here this is what it looks like!!

I finally decided to try one of these. Very delicious. I was a bit skeptical about the price for the size of the pot pie( but overall I am satisfied

I recently tried this place for the first time before leaving for a flight and the chicken pot pie knocked me into a beautiful food coma. I had the biggest craving for such a long time and I'm so grateful Crustees exists! I enjoyed a cup of their turkey chili and their chicken chili! I am pleased at the options for chili! Both were amazing, the turkey one seemed a little spiced but it was AMAZING. The chicken chili was great but my preference is the turkey one for now. The chicken pot pie was perfect, the crust made it a full circle moment and it is a perfect serving for just one. I inhaled it before I could get a decent photo of its presentation, vegetables were cooked to perfection and the actual inside of the pie was so warm and seemed like it was hugging my stomach from the inside. I also enjoyed their corn bread which was a little dry but it was still plenty flavorful. I did go back recently for a birthday desert for myself, I'm not a cake person but I LOVE pumpkin pie and I was so excited to go back for a mini one as my birthday desert! It was delicious! Cherry on top for sure. The two times I've visited the staff has been very welcoming and also helped me set up a rewards account that I absolutely will be adding points to. There's a nice sit down section outside but I prefer dining inside if anything, seemed very clean and organized but not too much decor which is fine because the food makes up for it. The only thing I would add as a negative is they do not accept cash payments. I understand cashless restaurants are everywhere now but I really would've appreciated the cash payment option.

$8 for 4 bites, total waste.

Banana Pudding :( It's described as "classic" banana pudding, but there's absolutely nothing classic about it. First taste, immediately tasted that horrible boxed flavor, way too sweet and located ZERO bananas. I haven't tried anything else, first time and I'm not impressed. For a small intimate spot, why can't the time be made to make this so called "classic" truly homemade, especially for the price? That dessert tasted assembly line manufactured without a care in the world.

An oily bowl of tasteless so-called seafood gumbo

Ordered seafood gumbo with crab and shrimp and rice. I get a bowl of oil with a scant amount of shrimp and NO CRAB OR RICE OR SEASONING! It's bland AND nasty. I called and the owner told the caller to tell me he's sorry and to go online and take care of it myself. I will never order from them again.

She took me here. The place was very clean and tidy with a lot of different types of sweet treats. I was there for one thing only. I did ask the gal working if they were made that day and she said yes. We ordered a raspberry, an orange, a coffee bean and the popular mango. This was my 2nd time trying these and our hopes were high BUT the raspberry was just awful the filling was strange and it had just raspberry jam inside,I dint eat it. The mango was okay so we shared that. The coffee bean was just awful as well so we didn't finish that either. The orange was the best of the group but overall just a disappointing experience once again because these are not cheap. I'm starting to think I might just have to give up my journey to find these although there are some places in Vegas that look promising. I don't think Reno has any bakeries that make these. They look so beautiful but the taste is a let down.

There were endless selection of salt bread and different flavoured buns which all looked delicious. As we were browsing and deciding, the lady at the counter was kind enough to offer us a sample of the butter rice cake. The butter tteok tasted pretty good on the spot so we bought a pack of 5 back home along with a hot and spicy salt bread and corn soboro. The butter rice cakes were already cold and hard when we got home, the inside was dense and chewy in a bad way. I didn't want them to go to waste so I tried reheating them in the over for a few minutes. It was warm but the texture never recovered, everything just got more dense and hard. The hot and spicy salt bread looked like a winner, but when we bit into it, the bread was just crunchy and overly buttery without a lot of flavour. The inside did not have the soft pillowy texture you'd expect from salt bread. The filling was a budget hot dog and some corn mixed with mayo. We cut the bread in half and my boyfriend said his piece had way too much mayo and mine barely had any. I grabbed the corn soboro thinking it would be delicious since it was corn season but was the most disappointed by it. I reheated the bread again to get the cookie top to crisp up. The soboro top didn't have a lot of crunch or flavour, it was just a layer of sweetness with no texture. The corn cream filling was not good, the corn was dehydrated and had no flavour at all. It honestly tasted a bit like canned corn that's over baked, I ended up scooping it out because the bread was better without it. Maybe it's better to go earlier when the baked goods are fresh and eat it there instead of taking it home.
