A pleasant surprise! I drive past by the restaurant all the time and finally got to try it today. Great and welcome by a nice lady and immediately sat down. The Ginger Chicken and Rice is tender and full flavor, loaded with bits and pieces of ginger. The Papaya Salad is fresh and crisp, loaded with shredded green papaya, carrots, tomatoes, crabs and topped with herbs. The dining area is small, but it doesn't feel cluttered at all. My friend and I were denied service today around 1:30, July 9th, 2025. We walked into the dining room and three tables were occupied with one empty because customers had just left. We sat down at that table which still had dirty plates on it. Two waitresses passed us a total of seven times in delivering dishes to the other tables. A Cambodian woman customer went to the counter and pointed to us sitting at the table. When got up after more than ten minutes of waiting and left. Only that woman and her party apologized to us. Beef Stew (Recommend) Deeelicious. So flavorful, very umami-ish with every bite/slurp. Broth wasn't too thick but still fulfilling. When in the area, I love to try nom banh chok at different places. Small little cafe, definitely a hole in the wall so would just togo your food. Staff and cashier was super nice, too. Houy Hok Apsaracafe, I have sent the owner several messages regarding the order of star Apple fruits that my friend placed on my behalf, but I have not received any response. I have received the order; however, half of the fruits are moldy and not fresh. I paid $68 for a box of 16 fruits, in addition to $25 for shipping, expecting to receive fresh produce. I was eager to support a Khmer business, but experiences like this tarnish the reputation of other Khmer businesses. It seems customer satisfaction and product quality are not your priorities once payment is received. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will not be a returning customer and would advise others to reconsider placing orders with you. Hole-in-the-wall informal cafeteria with a selection of Cambodian plates. If you're looking for a casual introduction to typical Cambodian foods this would be a low-barrier entry place. Many of the items were out when we asked. We got iced coffee (with condensed milk) and two entrees. (1) a fish based soup with galangal and turmeric, served with noodles, cucumber, greens, fresh mint and fried banana flower shards to be mixed in, and (2) the egg-flour pancake stuffed with minced chicken, bean sprouts and served with lettuce and mild fish sauce/garnished with peanuts. Both were tasty and priced fairly economically. The eating experience could be made a bit more refined with slightly more neat presentation and table ware, but this is a casual place. I appreciate how authentic the tastes were and how friendly the culture is. The fresh green chillies, refreshing mint, all made for a good meal. Still I'm docking it because I felt there could be even more effort put into presentation and into the temperature of the entrees. Try them out for casual dining, they are a fun crew. read more

My mom is a regular at this restaurant, and I am so surprised at the way the owner treated her. The owner gave my mom someone else's coffee that they didn't finish and acted like it was a new coffee that she just made. The owner took advantage of my mom's kindness and blindsided her. The food we had while we dined in, 2 orders of Hainan Chicken combo's, 1 Pad Thai and 1 Chicken Larb salad. Everything was excellent. The Sad News: - Their to-go version of the Hainan Chicken was VERY VERY sad - Their rice quality is different, not the fluffy SUN LEE Jasmine rice like they used to have - It had alot less chicken pcs than before (4 pcs very little meat, 1 organ or gizzard who knows...) - Missing all the PICKLES (this is my most favorite aspect of this meal) and the sliced tomatoes and cucumbers - Portion size got smaller on many levels, including the ginger sauce BOO HOO, BOO HOO. I have been to this place three times now. The first time I had a really good experience. We ordered two orders of Phnom Penh Noodle to-go. We were both pretty hungry so that could have been a factor of us thinking they did really well. Second time I ordered beef skewers, Phnom Penh Noodle and two orders of cha quai. Unfortunately they forgot to give us the cha quai. The beef skewers were undercooked which resulted with some portions of beef being chewy and off-putting. I was disappointed that they forgot the cha quai (which I usually use to dunk in broth), the noodles were delicious. The male staff working there was rude and not helpful. I spoke to him and he completely ignored me. I heard him speak English to his friend but I guess I wasn't worth speaking to in English. Third time we decided to dine in. My fiance ordered beef stew noodle and I got the Phnom Penh noodle and four orders of cha quai. My fiance is Caucasian, he tried to give his order to the server. She didn't even look at him and looked at me for help. Okay, I understand she doesn't speak or understand English but at least try to give him eye contact, please. I gave her our order and she didn't even take an order for drinks. I forget that at a lot of Khmer restaurants they give iced tea instead of water. We received our order and they shorted us an order of cha quai. We didn't want to ask for the fourth one. I look on the table to get some chili oil from the array of condiments that are usually located on the table. I was upset and concerned with what I found. The chopped pickled chilies were spoiled and instead of being in a vinegary sauce it was milky. The chili oil was no longer oily but a mass of chili. I was so upset I didn't even want to eat the meal. I thought of informing the server about the spoiled condiments but I didn't want to be met with confusion or apathy. I ended up using Sriracha in my noodles and ate as much as I could. We decided to add this restaurant to our DNR (Do Not Return) list. We tried, can't say we didn't. I think I should just learn my mom's recipes and enjoy Khmer food at home. read more

Shrimp fried rice was the first dish out and the first dish out and from the smell alone we were all sold. I ordered the Lemongrass chicken. Powerful. Outstanding. Just a slight amount of heat from the chili without being overwhelming. I like the heat so I bite into the peppers and pile on the chili paste, but this dish was subtle enough with the heat that a rookie should be able to handle it. I love this place! The prices are low and the food is good. There is a small parking lot in the plaza it is located in. The spots labeled with, "Chinese food," are designated for Apsara's customers but you can park in any other spot too. This place serves the usual Cambodian restaurant food, pho and what you'd expect of Chinese fast food. There's also smoothies, "fraps," and boba drinks. I often come in the evening after work and there's hardly a crowd there. So if you want to skip lines and wait times, this is the spot to hit. It seems like not too many people know about the place. It's not even available as a location on Instagram even though it's been open for a while now. They accept cash and card. There's also a generic ATM inside. read more

My mother got the beef stew which is a curry based flavor which is full of a fresh lemon grass flavor . I decided to try the beef fried rice which was amazing and fresh !
