Found this hidden gem and must if been my lucky day because it was a spot that must be revisited over and over. Mom & pop shop with homemade food with flavors in every bite. Beginning with the delicious cuban coffee gets you ready for the best to come.... the food! I had the Ropa Vieja omelet and on the first bite I was daaaamn, this is delicious. Then on the next bite had a spoonful of Congri and Daaaaam this was bomb too. It all came together for an outstanding breakfast. The platanos were cooked perfectly that added the sweetness balance. I can't wait to go back. I look forward to eating another one of their Guava & Cheese turnover and work my way through their entire menu. This place is a must try. read more

My wife and I stopped for a quick snack before an event. Great food, great service, good parking AND customers who are enjoying themselves immensely. The guys at the next table just said, " Well, I'm satisfied!" I ordered a Cuban coffee that was spot on. A little sweet, a little strong, served with love. We shared a Ropa Villeja plate that was delicious. My wife ordered a frozen yogurt that she loved! The breakfasts looked wonderful but I cannot yet vouch for them. I enjoyed the food. There are not too many Cuban lunch + yogurt shops out there, but there is at least one here. Review is only for the Cuban side of the business. The place is definitely authentic. Ingredients and recipes are all on point. The Cubano sandwiches were thin, but enjoyable for a not too heavy and filling lunch. The fresh fries had a nice home-made quality to them. The bean stew had good flavor. The meat pie was very flaky and had well seasoned filling. A bit more filling wouldn't have been a bad thing. We needed to meet friends half way between Hayward and Cameron Park. Vacaville was the place to meet. I looked up restaurants on Yelp and came across Cuba Cafe. GREAT choice! There were six of us. There really aren't tables inside with six chairs, but we asked if we could grab some extra chairs and we were all set. Most folks ordered sandwiches and commented positively on the flavors. I ordered the Ropa Vieja Plato - a robust Cuban stew consisting of braised shredded beef, onions and peppers served with congri (a combination of black beans and rice) with golden fried plantains. This meal was delicious and bursting with flavor. Eating the stew with small amounts of the beans and rice was the perfect bite. I would order this again in a heartbeat. Yelp provided an appetizer for first time visitors. We opted for the Papas Rellenas (potato balls) - mashed potatoes stuffed with picadillo (tasty meat filling) and fried to a golden brown. These little gems were fantastic. I was surprised how "tasty" the picacillo was. The flavor really jumped out. And the green sauce provided was wonderful. The serving came with two potato balls, which were easily shared as a small bite with four of us. SO good! The staff was super nice. The restaurant was very clean. I wish Cuba Cafe was closer. You can walk up to the cashier if you are going to order take out food. We decided to sit in and enjoy the ambiance. We sat and they gave us the menu. I love how their menu has pictures of the food. This is really great for some people who may not know what type of food they are ordering. We ordered: Cuban coffee - delicious and strong Ropa Vieja Plato - Cuban stew, which is shredded beef. It is rich and hearty and love the combination of flavors. Cuban Sandwich - with fries. Yummy especially with their cuban bread. Pan con Bistek - Like steak sandwich with sweet potato fries. I heard about this new Cuban spot in Vacaville and was finally able to check it out. It is located in downtown Vacaville near the new Maya Mexican Market. Family owned restaurant. It's super cute and really clean inside. The menu is visually viewable on a monitor above the front counter and on the side near the seating area. You order the food and sit to eat or take it to go. Food was cooked and prepared fresh. Wait time was good, didn't wait long at all which was great. They serve breakfast, desserts, appetizers, sandwiches and entrees. A good variety to choose from. We ordered different sandwiches so my family and I can try a little bit of each. We ordered- Pan Con Bistec, Ropa Vieja and Cuban sandwiches with fries. You do have a choice between fries or black beens. The sandwiches were panini style. The bread was extremely tasty, crunchy yet soft. The pan con bistec was delicious. Ropa Vieja was tender and flavorful. The Cuban was yummy. It came with an appetizer - the croquetas-courtesy for checking in with Yelp. Earlier in the a.m. I had went through the Starbucks drive-through and too a few bites of the driest Danish I've ever had??? I was still craving something sweet. Checked Yelp and this place came up on my places to consider eating at. Well hot dam ! I book marked it because it's so good! Everything looked good I ordered all of it LoL I ordered the meat pie, guava cheese, guava, Coconut and Apple. To wash it down got a cafè con leché too. The Meat pie came with this sauce that the owner makes in house. Delicious stuff! Everything was warm, flaky, sweet and delicious. They make their items in their restaurant. For the appetizers, we had Croquetas and meat pastry. Both were delicious. They had that homemade vibe. I had the Ropa Vieja platter. Everything was significant other than the scent of curry seasoning on the meat. I don't recall ever using that seasoning for this dish. The rice and beans were great. The plantains were delicious. Solid entrée. What impressed me the most was they have all options of unique beverages, such as Jupiña, Materva and Malta. not impressed. they ran out of bread for the Medianoche sandwich so i ordered the french toast breakfast. taste just not there and nothing special. i compared it to Denny's. my daughter ordered a meat sandwich and it was so dry, she only had a few bites. my food was served on a plate and her's on a paper plate. I tried this place because I work a hop, skip, jump away...we walked in and I thought this isn't the Cuba Cafe because everything I seen was about yogurt. The cashier (Gazee) ask what we wanted (in a loud voice) haha and we seen the menu. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and my other half ordered the Cuban burger. We sat down and all you can hear is Gazee talking (yelling) asking if the other customers like their food and cleaning tables. I was a little hesitant about her, only because she comes off strong and it's hard to figure her out. Don't judge a book by its cover because she is honestly a great person. Our food came out and it was great!!! Especially the burger it was freshly made and you can tell the difference from frozen meat. Gazee came over and ask if we like coffee? Of course!!! She gave us some coffee and it was bomb and STRONG! She kept talking to my better half in Spanish she was a wonderful host, when she didn't have to. My husband brought me here one morning to have some breakfast. I ordered a cafecito, and an order of papa's rellenas. 2 come included in a order. The host from the very moment we walked in the door greeted us with a very positive upbeat attitude and kept up her great customer service throughout the whole time we were there, bringing us our drinks and food. My wife wanted to give this restaraunt a try for a long time so on our way back from Kaiser we gave it a shot....Its a nice little restaurant tucked away in a little store area on Orchard....We were greeted immediately and with a smile which I love...First impressions mean a lot....there menu is great and easy to read...I ordered the Cuban hamburger and my wife had one of there combo plates...We ordered to go....and this was because we really weren't to happy with the cleanliness of the restaraunt...we waited for about 10 minutes for our food which was fast and orderly packaged....but in that time we saw that tables weren't cleared and the counter we sat at wasn't very clean either...Cleanliness should be at the forefront for any restaraunt...even the tables outside weren't cleared and were dirty...the landscaping outside was cluttered with garbage...and I give into consideration about the wind in the area....but 10 minutes would have made it a lot more appealing...But on a positive note....The food was really good....The Hamburger was spiced up really well and tasted awesome.....my wife just loved the combo plate and ate all of it which she rarely does...Over all very friendly good service (with a smile) The food was really good...But my rating would be higher if they focused more on keeping it cleaner for the overall ambiance... read more

The ropa vieja, maduros fritos, media noche sandwhich and croquetas are very tasty. I am sure the rest of the menu taste just as good, I also noticed that they have cuban beverages which is also a plus. The food has a very homelike taste and I am glad there is cuban cuisines and representation in Vacaville. I've been looking for a place that serves up authentic food that doesn't leave you feeling like you need to take a week's nap afterwards - and this is it! Cuba Cafe offers delicious Cuban food that is made with love you can taste. First of all, the restaurant's set-up is definitely strange. It occupies a space inside of a self-serve fro-yo place. Never mind that though, the true star is Cuba Cafe. Coming into the restaurant you see the vibrant colors and clean atmosphere. You feel that the owners take pride and care of their space, something that I really do appreciate. The menu has a good assortment of authentic Cuban choices. You can choose some great breakfast/brunch items or sandwiches. Appetizers and drinks are also on the menu. I chose to go with the Cuban sandwich as I thought it would be a great way to test out how the food is. I've always been wary of Cuban sandwiches because at other places they seemed too heavy. Well - not here. The homemade bread and delicately sized portions made this sandwich easy to eat and super delicious. I especially liked the pickle and Cuban mustard combo in it. This dish also came with some hand-cut fries on the side. Perfect. My wife chose to get some sweetly Cuban coffee alongside a breakfast sandwich and meat pie. I got a taste of both and loved them. Onion fans will really like the sandwich as there is a healthy portion of them in there, and the meat pie was heavenly with a very flaky crust.
