Two thumbs up for Cube Moving and Storage!!! My group of friends started using Cube Moving and Storage about four years ago at the recommendation of one of our friends. Since then four of us have now used their services and I see no reason to shop anywhere else. My girlfriend and I moved into our new place from Escondido to Sabre Springs this past weekend and the guys that helped us, Chris, Derek and Mikail were all great to work with. They showed up on time in a big truck and wasted no time getting to work. Although my girlfriend's last place was only two bedrooms, she and her daughter had a decent amount of stuff and these guys got everything that wasn't already boxed wrapped and protected, down four flights of stairs and to our new house in 6 hours flat. It likely would have taken me and four of my strongest, beer-bellied friends double that and we would've incurred no less than twelve broken items and at least one trip to the ER. All joking aside, these guys were great. They were all hard workers, communicative with us as well as each other and they took care of the most frustrating and difficult part of moving. I would have zero hesitation hiring them again for our next move in a year or two and I will continue the referrals to them to friends and coworkers. Thanks again Cube! read more

Cube has been our chosen mover for more than 20 years. From the initial service request to invoicing, their customer service is impeccable. Home moves are overwhelming and stressful, as soon as I receive the text or call our movers are on the way, I know everything is going to be perfect. When they arrive, I can exhale because Cube movers are pros. Their movers are ALWAYS amicable, respectful, a pleasure to work with, and ask the right questions to ensure we're on the same page and time and fee expectations are met. Most recently, we had an all-day complex move that included 4 local stops with multiple furniture swaps, and 4 different point of contact people, and our movers did not disappoint. As always, Cube movers Maserati and Quincy were efficient, knowledgeable, helpful, and communicative. The actual moving of my things went well. However, there were some other issues that I didn't like. First, we scheduled the move for 8-9am on my move date. They called and asked if it could be scheduled to 12pm-3pm the same day due to some issues; I said yes, no big deal. Although on the day of the move, I thought that because it was scheduled 12-3pm, that was the actual move time (after reviewing my email, it does say arrival time, but had I known that or that been actually communicated, I may not have said yes to moving the time to later). Because I thought the move window was actually 12-3pm instead of that just being the arrival time, I hadn't heard from anyone, so I called Cube and couldn't get anyone to answer. They finally got back to me around 12:40pm and the guy was a little curt with me. I guess maybe annoyed I didn't realize that my scheduled time was only the arrival time. He did give me an update however and the movers reached out to me right after. When the movers let me know they were on the way they texted me, "You calming down?" which keep in mind, I was calm the whole time, with a calm voice. I thought it was unprofessional and strange. I replied saying I have been calm the whole time and misunderstood arrival vs. scheduled moving time. Lastly, after the move, one of the guys started asking me personal questions including asking if I was single and commenting on my body, which made me quite uncomfortable. They were good on time and efficiency. HOWEVER, WATCH OUT FOR THEIR FEE. They charge DOUBLE the driving time. So they charged me the time for them to Go Home after the work was done. It was a bad move on their business strategy. Overall the movers guys were good and friendly. They are cool. The company is not consumers friendly. They charge us something we are not familiar with. Yes they did mention it once on our conversation. But with typical average consumer, we do not understand all their terminologies or names of whatever they call their fees are for, or whatever the state mandates. It is THEIR responsibility to fully Explain it to customers. They did not and pulled out that charge at the end. Put a bad look on their reputation. Worst customer service ever! Made my reservation under 3 days. Unfortunately the unit I was moving into had an issue. I called asking to switch my move date. Edgar refused to accommodate me. He told me he would contact his manager. He never did. When I asked for a manager number, Edgar gave me his own number. So many lies and run arounds. I hope the $100 deposit was worth the $500-600 plus tip we would have spent. I'll never recommend this company to anyone! Moving is so stressful and they had no compassion for their customers. Nice try in your attempt trying to diminish your switch and bait tactics. Also, no attempt was made to still gain my business. I am writing to formally address the recent moving service provided by Cube Movers Inc. on May 27th, which was rescheduled from the originally agreed-upon date of May 27th. I contracted your company for moving services between the hours of 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. However, the move was internally changed by Cube Movers to May 28th without prior agreement, resulting in considerable confusion and inconvenience. Upon calling your office, I was informed that the change was due to overbooking, which was not communicated to me in advance. Nonetheless, your team was accommodating, and the movers arrived at 3:15 PM, beginning work at 3:30 PM. The total duration of the move was 9.5 hours at a quoted rate of $109 per hour, amounting to $1,030. Before the movers left at 12:45am, they contacted their employer to confirm the total cost, and I was informed that the charge would be at an overtime charge at $178 per hour after 6:00 PM, plus additional costs for supplies. This rate was never communicated or agreed upon beforehand. According to California state law, overtime is charged at $150 per hour after eight hours of work. The lack of transparency and unexpected cost adjustments are highly unprofessional and seem to exploit the consumer. The initial agreement quoted $109 per hour, yet I was ultimately charged $1,509. This includes a rate adjustment to $119 per hour for the first 2.5 hours and $178 per hour thereafter, which was never authorized. As a consumer, I feel this was misleading and unfair. It is the responsibility of Cube Moving to contact the customer and let them know over-time charges will be applied. I asked all evening long to the team here why are they working so long? I asked if they could do it tomorrow as it was very late. The Restricted Hours of Construction San Diego Municipal Code Section 59.5.0404. is from 7am to 7pm. Why would you allow your employees to work overtime and charge the client on the backend without their approval or knowledge is down right unethical and should have all stars removed, all positive reviews removed and the industry of moving companies should be quite happy to know that there is a company out there taking advantage of women alone moving, single moms, elderly people, families is such a scary situation to be in. My favorite part is they caused over $12k in damages in flooring repairs, furniture damages, hidden items the movers themselves broke, removed refrigerator door handles and took them with them, not a single floor blanket was used. The amount of wrapping they charged me for, they put on my box springs was over 7 times wrapped with my mattress not wrapped and drug in the dirt. Every single item is scratched, broken, PERMEANT DAMAGE I will never be able to fix or recoup my costs. The movers were so incredibility slow, I even fed them to speed them up. I begged them to stop and come back. They said they were booked and I wouldn't be able to get my items because they will be locked in their storage until someone can be scheduled to move. This is In fact "fraudulently misleading" to any consumer as well as myself and I am sure literally others this is a buyers beware as well as the most unethical people I have ever dealt with. I was told to "DEAL WITH IT" .. James and Edgar who run Cube Moving should be fired without a doubt. Angi's list is completely aware of their fraudulent activities. Luckily I have a witness to all of their wrong doings. I requested that we come to a mutually agreeable resolution promptly. They denied all of my requests. I have everything documented and will continue my quest to let everyone know that there are other reputable companies out there that actually CARE. AGAIN, BUYER BEWARE these guys are untrustworthy and I am worried knowing others like myself (Single Mom) moving to have men in her home until almost 1am. Somehow they have no problem putting others lives at risk as well. Where is the protection for this in their contract? I have all the events documented and a witness to all the wrongdoings. If these issues are not addressed and resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter to relevant consumer protection agencies and pursue legal action. The main point of this REVIEW is "BAIT AND SWITCH" I was lied too, taken advantage of and the cost in damages far exceeds any of the costs you charged me to move. Quintessential middle of the road moving company, good and bad elements-Would've gave 2.5 stars if possible to delineate the mediocrity Good James- the quote guy, nice, professional, easy to work with Most of the movers--good guys, friendly, hard workers Bad Russell- The lead guy on our job-AKA major pain--has issues with women--bristles at any criticism even the most minor, such as what you see in the pictures below-kept telling me they couldn't do things, then I would have to call James and he would straighten it out, then he started talking crap about James,, it got old pretty quick. The main issue was inexperienced packers, they are good guys, but they are all pretty much working because they've lost their jobs during corona, or for some other reason are working outside of their skillset, one guy was a basketball player, a couple others were software engineers, basically there was no training or experience regarding appropriate packing, which as you can see, they just put stuff in boxes which some things broke or where damaged, which is what happens if you don't wrap things up Update: I would NOW definitely steer AWAY from this company, I gave a fair review, even gave the "guy who may or may not be the owner (James) kudos, and then as you can see in the replies he's posting a bunch of BS to try to soften the rightful criticism (post the "pictures" that you took James). You can tell a lot about a company by their accountability, I should've followed my own advice and looked at their negative reviews, if you go through them, no accountability, it's always somebody else's fault. read more

Helpful, professional, courteous, really really hard working and so fast! Our team manager was Maserati. He kept us in the loop every step of the way and was just the best. His team Quentin, Alan, Bahder and Chris were just as awesome, so nice, so professional, exceptionally hard working! Our office contact was James, he made the whole process start to finish super clear and kept our costs low. We used 3 full sized trucks and James worked out a great deal for us. I hired cube moving to pack and to move locally. James estimated that the packing would take 5 hours or less and the move would take less than 8 hours. James quoted $149/hour for three workers for each job and he scheduled the pack and move for two days. The rate included a $10/hour discount for payment in cash. I told James that we had just moved last August and four men took more than 8 hours to move and 8 hours to pack. Unfortunately, James just rigidly stuck with his estimate of time our move would take, and when they moved our stuff it took three men 11 hours. Thus, I was charged $670 for the 3 overtime hours. Had James actually listened to me and used 4 men, my cost would have been $350 less. When I pointed it out to him, again he just remained rigid and explained that everything was done right. James refused to admit that he had made a mistake, refused to offer any form of an apology, and refused to offer even the slightest mitigation of cost, and refused to offer any "I want you to be happy and satisfied". The workers worked very hard and I gave each a 50% tip -- but, I am very dissatisfied with the estimate and the lack of good customer service provided by James As can be seen by James's response -- he doesn't admit to any fault. He also made several inaccurate statements. For example, I informed him during my initial contact several weeks prior to the move that the moving company that I used last August sent 4 men to complete the move. During that phone call, James said I only need 3 men to perform this move and they would complete it in less than 8 hours. On Monday -- the day of packing -- Chris told me that 4 men would be needed Tuesday for the move. Therefore, I contacted James to see if he could add a 4th man to the job. James said he didn't have another man available. So, even Chris knows that the 3-man crew estimate was wrong. But, as all can see...James refuses to admit any wrong. And he did not apologize. The fact is: James sees things one way. The customer is never right. I tipped Jean $80, Phil $80, and Chris $80. That's $240 in tips for Tuesday. Chris told me he makes $20/hr. I tipped $10/hr -- 50%!), based on an 8 hour day, which was the maximum James estimated. The house they moved our items from had no stairs, and the distance from my door to the elevator was relatively short. The new house has 13 stairs, and the stairs are exceptionally wide with high ceilings -- not unusually difficult. James wrote in his initial text that there is no extra charge for stairs, long carry, elevator. So, why is he using that as an excuse? I wrote my comments to James and only posted my original review on Yelp as a result of his pathetically weak customer service and his excuses that he emailed. I had told him that I would not recommend Cube Moving for packing and I will not hire CM for my packing needs in the future. But since the workers did a great job and they worked hard, I would probably use CM for future moves. But, now...with James continuing to admit no wrong and attempting to make it appear that I am wrong -- I'm thinking that I won't recommend Cube Moving nor will I hire CM to move. Too bad, because Jean, Phil, and Chris are good workers. That's it. And based on past experience, James will probably try to twist things in order to "prove" that he didn't do anything wrong nor make any mistakes. James -- I have ALL of the texts and emails too. Cube Moving did a phenomenal job moving our 4 bedroom house into a two-story 5 bedroom (stairs are no joke while moving furniture). The team of Daniel, Daniel and David were extremely hard working, meticulous and friendly. They took great care of our belongings and packed everything much better than we would have. They found a way to fit all our things, including heavy gym equipment, a fridge, washer and dryer into the truck. They're the hardest working team I've ever come across, working tirelessly for 9 hours and barely taking breaks. The service and communication during the move was incredible. They asked us where everything goes and placed all the furniture in the correct location. I am so grateful for their help and I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. Moving is stressful and hard work. I'm so glad we hired Cube Moving to help ease the process. If you're on the fence about getting movers, do yourself a favor and hire them. Based on reviews and price, I chose Cube Moving for my move from my apt to my condo. Movers came on time (they gave a window of from 8:00-9:00am) at 8:05. I was expecting closer to 9:00 like when the cable company gives you a 4 hour range and then comes at the last minute, but it was great to get started earlier than I expected. I recently used their service and was very disappointed. 1) It took more than 10 hours still they could not finish my move from a 3 bedroom home to another home which was within 15 minutes from my home. 2) I was not aware of the over charge after 8 hours, it was never informed 3) My 800$ monitor was broken due to their mistake and they compensated me with 100$ 4) I was told to buy a plastic sheet to protect my carpet during the move, and they stood idle till I bought it back while they could have moved stuffs to my ground floor with wood (carpet was only upstairs). JUST DON'T! If you're even considering using these movers. Just don't. The workers are rude! They scratched my walls. And there were broken furniture pieces that were not broken before. I've figured out their method of extracting as much money as they can squeeze out of customers. They move like snails wrapping things that don't actually need to be wrapped--nearly everything outside of boxes were wrapped in blankets. This wasn't for my benefit. This was so they could turn a 1 bedroom move, 15 minutes up the road, into a several hour, $700 move (and this was the "cash price"). I figured I'd spend the few extra dollars per hour on a third mover just so this could go quickly and smoothly. They milked it for every single dollar in my wallet. I've never seen movers move so slowly. They know exactly what they're doing, despite whatever excuse they'll come up with, and they should really be reported for this. Don't be fooled. That was several hundred dollars more than it should have been. Not only is was it simply a one-bedroom, I didn't bring all the furniture with me. What I did bring, most of it was stored in the garage. So, let's recap. They didn't have much to move in the first place. What they did have to move, most of it was put in one place (the garage, for storage). Again, $700 cash. What's wrong with the picture? I really hope someone sues their asses for this kind of stuff. I don't have the time or the energy, and they know that about people who are moving. They're vultures. I've moved every year during my 6 years in San Diego. Each year I've worked with new movers and most have done a good job, but I've never experienced a fantastic job. It did take a while for me to get on the same page with the office admin regarding liability insurance in case the damage my new home. This did take a few days and emails to get on the same page about. I scheduled my move between 8 - 9 am on a Sunday. The day of the move the team was on time, arriving at 8:45am. I don't know where they get their movers, but they are from the land of GIANTs. One in particular was the size of a NBA basketball player and build like a NFL player. They were very careful with my furniture and respectful. They also beat me to the second location because they took the fast track, which really surprised me because they charge for double drive time. They hit the ground running once I arrived at my new place. Total hours = 4.5 hours. Condo to condo move from Mission Valley to Otay Ranch. I would happily hire them again and ask for Ivan, Andre, and the other gentleman that came with them (sorry for blanking on your name). Their review rating isn't BS. This company received 1-star from me originally for 2 simple reasons, lack of COVID policy and poor customer service. When I had to cancel 48 hours prior to my move because my daughter got COVID, Alice on the phone was curt and had zero empathy towards our situation. The biggest issue they have with me is that I did not want to reschedule at that time on the phone. I did not want to reschedule when I cancelled because we had COVID, who knows how long it will take to clear my household. Alice made it sound like I had to reschedule right then with her and I told her no because I no longer have an accurate outlook on my calendar. I was not advised that my deposit would or could be held for a later reschedule. After the call, I later emailed inquiring about my $100 deposit and if it could be returned. The company carried their curtness and said I elected to cancel and no refund would be issued, again with no policy explanations or advisements, or empathy of any kind. I cancelled to protect their employees and stop the spread. After sitting on it, I decided to leave a review with only 1-star because of their rudeness on the phone and email and of course, their lack of COVID cancellation policy. I thought people should know about this lack of policy. Since my original 1-star post, the owner, James has reached out demonstrating his two-faced behavior, a lack of ethic within his approach at CS and overall business attitude. He left a nice "you may reschedule with us anytime" message here on yelp to my review (which Alice did not make me aware of), but to my personal email, delivered a berating and very unprofessional message bashing me on how I was wrong because I did not reschedule and I wanted my deposit back instead. Also, that I am ruining his business with my 1-star review. I replied to him as courteously as I could, considering what he wrote. I pointed out the known facts to me and spelled out the extreme lack of CS that his company had and was continuing to demonstrate. His company earned the 1-star, plain and simple. I then asked him to not contact me again -- I do not need a business owner bashing me about something that is out of my control. Since then, he has edited his comment to my post to reutter the rescheduling option (that I originally never was advised on) and sent me another message via Yelp (because I blocked his email), completely disrespecting my request for no further contact. He has demonstrated a clear lack of business ethic, not having a COVID cancellation policy and staff not clearly communicating their "rescheduling" policy, not to mention how astoundingly rude and unprofessional their customer service is. All of this happened because I simply asked for my deposit to be refunded. I only did not want to reschedule because we had no idea when our family would be out of our COVID situation. It is not right to be verbally bashed because of this simple request and/or misunderstanding...whatever it is at this point. I have moved many times over the years, and often feel like movers are cut from the same cloth as used car salesman. Always surprise up-charges and unfulfilled promises. Not with Cube moving. I have never had such professional and honest movers. James the owner answers any inquiries very quickly. Kept me updated on when they would arrive as moving day approached,and again when they were en-route in the morning, and right on time. I moved a 3/3 home to a 3/2 home 100 miles away, it was exhausting getting ready for moving day, but Vlad and Russell took over once they arrived. It took only 1 hour more then I guessed it would(13 instead of 12, including round trip), but that is due to the care they took for my items. They treated everything like it was fine china. Blankets and plastic around almost every piece they moved, as well as some difficult dis-assembly and re-assembly items. These guys hustle and are like machines. For an extremely reasonable price, you get a professional, licensed, and insured company. read more

The team of Jose, Max and Mike showed on time and immediately went into action with my House-to-Condo move. The destination had a tricky stairway that would test any moving pro but they handled it like it was no different than a single story move. Unfortunately, my first (and last) experience with cube moving was not so great today. I had three guys - Cameron, Maurice and Mikael, and my move was from a small (900 sq. ft.) ground floor 2 bedroom apt. - to a condominium - 9 mile commute ! Here is my experience: * Bait and Switch: Surprise *dot fee* that was never disclosed from the get go. The way I was explained (on site when they showed up and not before) - They calculate the driving time from origin to destination, lets say 15 mins. and then double it to 30 mins. and charge you for 30 mins. This may be necessary and something they cant control, but they should disclose it upfront. Not good business practice. *Language and personal phone calls: They are not quite or professional when they communicate with each other, lot of cursing and loud mouth talking. One guy was on phone, smoking, talking with his gf / wife, about their personal details you would rather not know....totally disrespectful. He then had to be called in by his coworker to get back to work....while he was on the clock....getting paid. * Careless: Dropped my CD tower and my air cooler while lifting the trucks tailgate and acted like no big deal and did not apologize, I thought that was bad customer service. While loading mattresses, one of them yelled "Put in all the way inside the truck...or whatever...I don't really care". * Milking the clock: You know the deal...walking slow, checking phones, taking their time with no sense of urgency, carrying one lamp at a time vs. two in two hands. * Unreliable : They recommend 3 guys and a truck vs. 2 guys and a truck, just so it would be faster aka cheaper for you...yet still, take like 2.5 hrs. *just to load* (take a look at the picture, this was *everything* before taking off from my apt.- the truck is half empty) !! * Bottom line: 2 bedroom apt. / 9 mile move / 3 guys and a truck = took them 5.5 hrs. Ended up costing me $742....before tip. I didn't want to be a jerk, so I still gave them a $75 tip, plus they stand right there and watch you, so you feel pressured into it...but was it worth it? They worked hard. They were organized working together, but I think could of been better truck packers. I moved the last couple items myself to avoid an additional fuel charge of $25, after I paid $50. upfront and the move was just across the street. read more

Not a bad option for moving. Max and Yura were my movers and did a phenomenal job: polite, kind and courteous. 4 stars because James (owner) and I had a miscommunication on the start time. It all worked out but his attitude and tone about the matter was far from great. Will use them again. Make sure you have all the details down to a "T" prior to moving date. read more

I am very disappointed with our experience with Cube Moving. Our local move took three Cube movers twice as long as it should have. I felt as though they were intentionally going slow to increase their hours to go into overtime. The movers were unprofessional and used profanity in front of my family. They told my husband to "get off his a$$ and deal with it himself" and to "go fu@$ himself" when my husband asked about the door they damaged moving our furniture through it. The Cube movers also expressed how they hated military men during our move while in our home. Having a father and both grandfathers as US Army veterans and both brothers serving in the US Air Force, this was extremely disrespectful and sickening to hear. I would NOT recommend using their services for your move. read more

Who likes moving? No one. Definitely not me and definitely not under a time crunch, which is how it happened. But as luck would have it, I found Cube Moving and Storage. There's a reason these guys have 5 stars across the board - it's because they're the best! Yelp helps you get several quotes at once and they came in fast and furious. Cube was first to the punch on the phone call, so I secured them just to make sure I had someone since we were moving in a short amount of time. I compared rates and all were pretty similar. Cube's was on the higher side (by about $10-$15 more per hour), but they are one of the few that sends 3 guys instead of 2. When you break it all down, it actually helps with the cost. More hands moving and packing, the faster it will go. Which is exactly what happened. While two of them are taking larger furniture items that means the third person can load up a dolly without the lag in between. Not only did they text me on their way, they were early for their 8-9 a.m. promised time. They got in and got to work. They are pros. Wrapping our furniture and piling up several boxes at once. They were almost done packing our furniture and boxes in under an hour and a half for a two bedroom home. I had gone ahead to our new place with a load of clothes in my car and went back to get some small items. They had already headed to our new place with my husband and by the time I returned, they were nearly done unpacking, including putting our bed together. Yes, they come prepared with tools. And wardrobe boxes. How have I ever moved before without them? Our team was Sergey, Thomas, and Renato and they were amazing. They were friendly, efficient, and got the job done in just shy of three hours (the minimum for nearly all moving companies). The move a lot smoother than I anticipated and ended up coming in less than what I had budgeted. They were well worth the money and I would highly recommend them. Throughout the whole process from getting a quote to receiving a quick confirmation and answer to my question pre-move to the move itself, they were professional and I can't say enough good things about them. read more
