***UPDATE** James the manager called me after my below review. He refunded me the $150 and an extra $25 that I had tipped the movers because he felt I received bad service. If it wasn't for James I would never consider this place again, but I will give them another shot in the future. I had my moving reservation through Best Fit Movers and was never told that they would hire a third party company. That wasn't a huge deal for me a Cube was on time. I had a 2 bed 1 bath condo that is at most 800sq. Two guys worked on my condo. Now I packed up my house first to save some time but it still took these guys 7.75 hours to complete! That part was annoying but the part that made me really upset and extremely uncomfortable was that the movers told me that I should order his lunch because if not my move will take longer, he said that they would take whatever the lunch cost off my final bill. I was so confused and I guess my face said that so the mover said "what? You can't afford to buy me lunch?" I told him no I got it, I was never asked that before. I didn't order his lunch instead they told me that they are going to go take a lunch and will take that hour off the bill. They did arrive to my storage in an hour, they unloaded the truck. I was told that they had to charge me an additional $150 due to my fridge being too heavy and it was a California state law, not a problem. The issue I had is he waited until the end of the move to tell me I could pay in card but had to pay the $150 in cash. I ended up paying everything on my card. I was also told that normally movers were tipped, which I knew and didn't need reminding. I'm sure this company has some really great workers and maybe even mine are great in a good day but today it was awful and will not use this company in the future. read more

Looking through the reviews you can probably see that this company has either 5 stars or 1-star reviews. I guess it is probably because they have different crews and some got a good group. We, however, we not lucky with them. Recently we used their service for moving a 3 bedroom home to only 2.5 miles away to another 3 bedroom house with no strains and was very disappointed and overcharged. 1) My move was scheduled about a month before the moving date (cause I'm a planner). I didn't receive any communication from the company the day before, to ensure it will happen (which was ok with me). So I called and after a couple of times trying to reach him, "J" picked up the phone he was annoyed and told me when you are scheduled, it means you are scheduled! you do NOT need to call again. I was so surprised that on my moving day which so much work I have in my hands, this company treated me like that. Well, I guess this is their "customer service" style. 2) The move took about 8 hours solely because they sent three young men, one of them who seemed to be a group less (Mr. A), was only in the truck and mostly on his phone. He did such a horrible job that our stuff didn't fit in a 26 ft truck. We have minimal furniture, but he had no idea what he was doing. The other two worked SO slow, that we started packing some stuff and taking it home with our own cars so MAYBE these guys would speed it up (which they didn't). 3) They overcharged us for their own lack of experience (wasting time and going back). 4) The worst part however was the dropping off the items at our destination. Everything was packed and labeled before these guys arrive. But they just mixed up everything. There was absolute chaos in my garage when they left. They put things on top of each other, suitcases on top of boxes, and in between the gym stuff. They made a mess that I worked weeks to find things and put them where they belong. 5) They charged us for assembling the two beds we had and one study desk. But they were lost on how to put things together, so we decided to do it ourselves. So no assembly was done by these guys. 6) My dining table was scratched. Also, they made dents on walls, etc in the home, we moved from and the owner charges us for it. 7) The only positive thing I can say about the crew is that they were polite. I guess they were aware of their lack of experience (the one star is for their manner). This was an absolute disaster moving experience. We paid over $1400 and still worked so much. Giving 5 stars to Cube Moving for a number of reasons: 1. How fast and easy it was to get a quote - they gave all the pricing and info in my Yelp messages. Some other places made me go to their website or call for more info, which is a step I didn't need. 2. Timely communication and responsiveness - James was able to confirm availability and answer all my questions in Yelp messages and called me to confirm the move 3. The move itself went great - nothing was damaged, everything happened quickly, and the 3 guys were very friendly. 4. Great pricing - the price for 3 movers was the cheapest out of all the quotes I received. I asked for a quote on a Friday and was able to get a quote and book a move for just 2 days later on Sunday. Three guys helped us empty our storage unit, stop by my mom's house for some additional items, and then move to a 3-bedroom place in under 4 hours. I would definitely use them again! read more

Wow. First off thank you, you did a Great Job. The ability to buy a $40 certificate for $20 was a nice touch as well. We had 2 trucks and 4 movers, Lester, Vova, Pavla, and Ruslan all did a fantastic job. From the minute they arrived they were helpful, professional, polite and hustled. They were very safe wrapping furniture and breakables in pads and wrap, they were efficient and did not waste time or stand around, and they were pointing out any damage that was already done before they even touched or moved an item so there was no confusion about whether they broke something or not. They asked to take a 5 minute break after several hours of work, and they only stopped for a 15 minute lunch break which was subtracted from the time they billed me. It was nice that the clock started when they arrived at my house and not from their starting location. The part about California law allowing double for distance between destinations was fine, and everyone charges that. The bill was easy to read and I appreciated the discount option for using cash, but glad the credit card option was available too. I would definitely hire them again, the only thing was that I forgot to ask them to take all the plastic wrap with them, so I had to dispose of it, but other than that it was smooth sailing. read more

Moving is never a fun experience. In fact, it lends itself to some of the most stressful situations in ones life. Since we were only moving about two miles away, I thought we could potentially load up the minivan make the short trip down the street and around the corner and repeat 20 times or so. Looking at the amount of crap we had in our house dictated differently. These guys are top notch in every way shape and form. I called a few places and also confirmed with Yelp about who I should use. Cube had a five star rating as did a few other places. Could that truly be? 5 stars for a company that is involved in something that makes peoples lives miserable? Well, with the glowing reviews listed on Yelp, you better believe, these guys are legit. Cube's rates are right up there among the best. While not cheap, they definitely won't break the bank compared to others. I had a four man team come over to help with my move. Max, Elik, Ilia and Andrei were our team for the day. They were all quick, helpful and professional. Best of all, they were polite. They hustled throughout the time they were helpig us move. They literally didn't stop moving until I told them to and fed them since it had been almost 6 hours since they started. All in all, using Cube was a pleasure. I don't think a move can get ANY better then this! I had 3 amazing guys move me. They arrived on time an took just under 4 hours to move me from beginning to end. They moved quickly and efficiently. This is awesome given that the clock is ticking from the time they hit your door until the time they finish up at the new location. I am completely impressed with these guys. They never even took one break - just kept it moving. Love it! The price was very fair and they honor exactly what they quote you over the phone. One nice perk is that they let you use the Yelp discount for checking in. Nice! No problems with dishonesty and integrity. These guys were very friendly. The customer service was outstanding! I am still unpacking boxes, however, thus far I everything is in pristine condition. The move was actually pretty bad. The guys definitely worked, but wasnt working very hard. I get it, labor work is hard work, which is why I was going into the trenches to help all the way through. When I moved to this location, I had two movers from a different company. Took them 4 hours TOTAL and they even mounted 2 tvs and assembled the bed. Using Cube Moving, they sent two guys over. The same work took them 5.5 hours and we were not even close to being done. Even when the worker showed up, he said he thinks it would be 3-4 hours. Nope, took him 5.5 hours and not even close to being done till i just cut my losses before id go broke with them. They werent really welcoming either. No smiles, no talking. But thats ok with me. I was going to work side by side with them. They moved and worked very slow. While I was making two trips, holding 2 or 3 dining chairs, Id see one guy walk by me, holding one chair. The most frustrating part was at the 5 hour mark, we still had sooo much to do they were dismantling the tv. One guy was holding the mounted TV and while the other was unscrewing the mount bracket from the TV. Im sweating my ass off running back and forth carrying more items and Im just looking at them like wtf are you guys doing? For starters, all he needed to do was unscrew the lever and the tv slides out. Youre making a 3 minute task a 15 minute one and using both workers! Another frustrating part, I was still making rounds up and down moving boxes. I get outside and they are both just sitting in the truck texting. They said they were waiting for me to go to the new location. They have the address, not sure why they wait for me. Not to mention, I dont know how long they were sitting in the truck waiting. LIike I said, I was still moving and working. I thought I would be paying less than $400 for this apartment move. It costed me over $550 and as I mentioned there was so much more work left. Great, great, great! I was moving my 1 bedroom apartment just 20 minutes north and I needed a fast crew! Viktor & Sam arrived 10 minutes early to go over some logistics / paperwork - after that, they went right at it! They worked very quickly and ensured all my furniture and anything else I needed special care was wrapped up. I even had some extra clothes hanging in my closet that I was going to take in my car, but they searched for some wardrobe boxes in their truck to help speed up the process & help me out! Legit and easy. Cube was actually the third company I prospected for a small move. My project would be a two-step process: empty my family's storage locker, drop the stuff off at my folks' house, then move my stuff out to the new place down the street. The three locations are within a 4 mile radius and there's not much stuff to begin with. Easy job. Or at least I thought so until I spoke with two other moving companies about a quote. Here's what happened: Company 1: Major mover, they had successfully moved my family on a couple of occasions without much hassle. I submitted a request for a quote and the salesman answers the phone and I can barely understand a word this guy was saying. Seriously, it sounded like he lodged the phone halfway up his butthole: Salesman: Abladksfajsdfkasdf few miles adklfjasldfksadf know that adsfakljfadsfas inward. Me: Um...I still can't hear you. Salesman: Aadflkjasfdk six inches lfakjsdfasklfsdjaf so I don't kjoasdfaskldfjafklja hear me? Me: Um...sure. Salesman: Asdfkasjfsakdflj e-mail me fajskldfjasdfkldas at adfkljasdfklasjf something askldfjasklfjasdfkljasd? Me: Um...okay. I didn't care for this guy's demeanor or tone (at least from what I could understand) and I don't think he was interested in taking on such a small job anyway. He asked me to e-mail him a specific list of everything in the storage locker and that "maybe he'll get to it tomorrow." He then tried to tell me his e-mail address but I couldn't understand him so I'm just like screw this. If you can't get a working phone then you shouldn't be in business. Company 2: Local mover that did a great job moving my family last year. Overall a pleasant experience until I got a quote: $900! For a three hour job moving a few things out of a locker and then moving a roomful of stuff down the street. $900! No thanks. At this point I was agitated so I did a quick Yelp search and up came Cube. Within minutes I had a deal setup for the day that I wanted without the hassle and nonsense of the other companies. The day of the move was quick and easy. Dee and Vlad met me at the storage locker right on time and immediately got to work. They texted me a few minutes before arriving to let me know they were on their way. They also included a smiley face emoticon. I don't know why but that helped put me at ease haha. Anyway, the guys were fast and efficient. Wrapped everything extra super carefully and got the job done in two hours. The final price was nowhere near the $900 (!) I was quoted from Company 2. I can't say enough about this group of 4 men. Cameran, Mikail, Maurice, and Julian were a great team. They were such hard workers and had manners and were so nice to my kids who just wanted to "help". They took time to explain "why this or that works" and "how does the truck get packed so full" questions from my 8 yr old, that meant the world to me. They busted their butts hardcore for 12.5 hrs that day. I was very impressed by the very few breaks they took and how well they worked together with me to protect my valuables and get them go the new house in one piece. We searched for a movers to move my sister from San Diego to LA county. We called numerous companies and received a variety of quotes with some of those quotes as online estimates. We were very happy with it our contact at Cube and the quote we received so we chose them and are glad we did. The young men showed up on time, were personable, helpful and extremely efficient. They explained the quote with all the charges etc and got down to business. The longest time was of course the drive which unfortunately was made a bit worse with the severe weather we are experiencing. I chose Cube Moving and Storage based on other Yelp reviews and as a result I went into my move knowing what to expect. Actually, thinking I knew what to expect. My expectations were absolutely crushed by the guys at Cube Moving and Storage! James was super communicative and helpful getting my move planned and was very up-front with the costs. We had everything lined up for the big day. When moving day came, the guys communicated their arrival and were on-time. Slava and the team (crap I forgot their names already, the Russian guys) were fantastic. We were moving half of our stuff into the truck for our new apartment and the other half into storage units on property, and I took them around and showed what went where. If they had questions they were very up-front about asking. They wrapped up our furniture and seemed to move the big bulky items with ease. Any pre-existing damage they were quick to point out as well. The guys moved with a purpose and were very respectful of our stuff, and did it in a good mood and most of all quickly! We were out of the townhouse in a couple of hours and delivery at the apartment went really well also. Listen, movers aren't cheap, but it's probably some of the best money you'll ever spend. We had a pretty good idea what it was going to cost us and Cube Moving and Storage is right about in the middle range for cost. What you get for that money though is good communication, on-time arrival and quick loading/unloading, respect for your property, and a good attitude. They wrapped my items and loaded the truck so efficiently that there was very little movement during transport. We had a long hallway and an elevator that needed to be used. Cube did not charge extra for the distance or the fact that it was on the 3rd floor. Be wary of other companies that try to charge extra for distance carried, etc. I was impressed with their professionalism and expertise. read more

I used cube moving today, and Andrei and Aaron (?) provided moving services. I moved from a 1 bed ground level apt into a 2 story condo. the apt had 4 steps and a ramp, and the condo has a staircase. I had everything packed in boxes, except bed, desk, and dinner table requires disassembly. on a move I expected to take 3-4 hours total, it took 3.75 hours just to load the truck. even driving over to the new place took 45 min when it took me 20 (they said they stopped for gas). after an hour of moving stuff into the condo, I had them drop off everything in the living room because I was so fed up with them. the total time was 6.25 hours. they moved slow throughout the entire move, and for a business based on time, it was extremely frustrating. never using them again, and recommend against them for all moving purposes. Edit: I received an email and a call from James at 9:15 this morning on a Saturday explaining the situation. basically, the reasons were the distance that the movers had to walk (400 feet at pickup and 200 feet at drop off) were to account for the long time. when the movers arrived, I gave them the option of parking closer where there was more stairs vs farther with less stairs. he went on to explain that the movers are allowed 5 min breaks/hour, which is fine. the only reason why I had them subtract this from the move is because they told me they would take off these times. another reason that they said it took so long was because they were moving alcohol, and they have now changed their policy to no longer move it. overall, the call was 18 min, and I probably said about 50 words. In the end, I didn't appreciate such an early call on the weekend, especially since I just moved and was up all night unpacking. none of my stuff broke but it took a long time. next time, I'll skip the niceties and ask my friends. read more

Moving companies tend to be unprofessional, and unpleasant to work with. Cube Moving takes the cake in both being totally unprofessional and completely unpleasant to work with. What's worse, they will rip you off. Cube Moving ripped me off. Ask for a 'Not To Exceed Price' before moving. As per California regulations, licensed moving companies are required to give a 'Not To Exceed Price' even for short moves. The mover must inform you of a NOT To Exceed Price. These unprofessional jerks will rip you if you are not careful. I learnt this the hard way. This company sent two workers. They did not give me a 'not to exceed price'. Instead, they made me sign their contract, just gave the hourly terms and cheated me by working super slow, taking atrociously many hours to do only a part of the agreed job, then producing a bill and insisting on cash. Please PM if you know of a good lawyer!! Details below. We had a particularly bad experience with these movers. We moved out of a 2 bed apartment and chose this company based on its yelp reviews. We agreed to their hourly rate and scheduled them a month in advance. Our lease was almost up by the date of the move. So by the time the moving came up, we were stuck with whatever con the movers pulled. Cube Moving exploited our situation. Their workers came with scowls on their faces and complained that they have to move so much! I wanted to work with them despite this terrible start. They then complained that for a 2 bedroom apartment they need atleast 3 people. This was entirely their fault since Cube Moving needed to have sent 3 people if the job needed 3 people. The workers were very negative and were grumpy, complaining about Cube Moving to me. They were quite unmotivated in their work. They would walk in a leisurely manner, while we are paying them by the hour. The two characters that this useless company sent us merrily took paid breaks, all unsolicited no permission asked, just take as many breaks as they want and go smoke cigarrettes. This itself is illegal because we are in UCSD, which is a non-smoking campus. This speaks volumes on the kind of background check this company does. Unprofessional!! To move out of a 2 bed apartment, on previous occasions, we had movers finish the move in 3 hours. These guys did not even finish the loading in 4 hours. At this stage, I was anxious how high the bill would be and asked them to wrap up loading and move on. AS A RESULT, THEY LEFT STUFF unmoved in both bedrooms, and the attic. By the time they were done with unloading, it was 6 hours. For some curious reason, they wanted double pay for driving and jacked up the bill to 7.5 hours. I howled and they knocked it back down to 6.5 hours. At the end of this, after pocketing the money and the heavy tip, they insulted the tip and said that they usually get 20% tip i.e. more than $100 tip on a job that they did not even finish. They gave me a window of 8-9am arrival and showed up exactly on time. They worked hard, fast and smart. I have used these guys before with success. Let me say that I most care about customer service first and foremost. I have been with T-Mobile for over 20 years. I will stay loyal to those who provide the best service. Unfortunately Alex the head guy who I spoke to at +1 (619) 366-9806 was not so pleasant today. Originally when I tried to schedule for the first of june they told me that they could only do the 3rd of June, because they were busy. Because I had such positive experience with them last time, I changed my move in date to accommodate their availability. This angered the new landlord. I almost lost it to another renter. I straightened it all out eventually. Then three days before the 3rd of June, cube movers called to tell me that they were on their way over for the originally requested date of june1st. After I nearly lost the rental I secured by trying to change move in date and I was surprised that they were coming as I was still in the middle of actively packing. The driver told told me no problem they would come back Sunday if I could get the key. I said great.then I got a call from Alex. He insisted that he sent me an email that I never saw for the first of June-later found it in spam. In the past I got reminder call or text to confirm the date. He told me to call the new landlady and get the keys ASAP and they would come, which I said I would do but warned him it took a whole day usually to hear back. He said he may have to push to Tuesday. I was frustrated but gave them the benefit of the doubt or that it was a misunderstanding. Bottom-line, it would have been very convenient to not have to risk losing the rental and move on a Saturday instead of a Monday but because they were such efficient movers that I trusted before I chose to accommodate around them. I am sadly disappointed to say that I never heard back from Alex. I called him today and Alex was rude aggressive and argumentative when I asked when he could come help. He said "probably Tuesday" and paused. I said well I need a firm date. I said I need to know for sure to plan. I also told him I got the keys earlier as he instructed. At this point there was no bad blood from my end-I just wanted to move forward. However, He went into a lecture with a taking down to me tone telling me that he had recorded our original call and he said Saturday not Monday. I did not argue much back because I thought we would just move forward and schedule. He would not commit to anything but a maybe. Then he said he recorded our other calls. At this point his tone escalated and I said I would love to hear the call because it's not how I remember at all. I insisted again why was he arguing and that I nearly lost my house over changing the dates. Well I'm glad he recorded my call without notifying me per California law, as it is a two party consent state. I did have a whole room of people listening on speaker phone to our calls, including the original one. Everyone-the house and other vendors helping me with the move told me to disconnect the call and reminded me to not do business nor trust anyone who would speak down to me as he did. This "maybe"and the rudeness. I'm shocked dismayed and disappointed. Use at your own risk. This guy should not be handling customer service. Update-James-you must love to argue with your customers and continue to argue with me-my records show the 3rd is what you told me you only had because of a cancellation and the first was impossible. I moved all my plans around that date. You told me to try to get the keys early and I did. I posted this after you would not say whether for sure Tuesday was anything than a maybe-then I got a text from you offering for Tuesday. What about a "I'm sorry"? What happened to customer service? I have hired you guys 3 times before. If I knew you were available on Saturday the first I would have take it as that was my original request. It's clear something got confused. Do you not confirm by phone or text beforehand? If not you suggest you do with future customers. This issue caused me time and money. The only reason why I'm posting this review almost one year later is because I have to move again and am thoroughly searching for a decently priced moving company with professional employees. I remembered Cube Moving and Storage is the company I hired to move my items on July 15, 2016 while my husband was underway on his ship and upon reading several of the reviews, I realized we had too many things in common for me not to share my experience. The larger items (bed, couch, desk, TV, and bookcase) and a few bins were located in a 686 sqf condo while the rest of the boxes and bins were located inside a 5x10 storage unit 2.9 miles from the point of origination. My new place of residency is 0.9 miles away from the said storage unit. All of the items were in the condo a few days prior to the move but I thought it would be a good idea to pack most of our items early and rent a storage unit in case we needed it later on. I called the company and they quoted me something like $55x3hr + $25 for a 1bd with a small storage unit. I agreed and received a confirmation email within a few minutes. The day of the move I received a phone call from the movers asking me if it was ok for them to show up earlier than anticipated. I agreed but did inform them I wouldn't be off of work in Coronado until 1530-1600 (I lived near Qualcomm stadium). They stated understanding and we set the time. Upon arrival Lester read over my paperwork with me and I signed it. I expressed my expectations of remaining within the 3hr timeframe because it was a very short distance move and most of our items were already packed in boxes or bins. Lester ( I believe is his name, he's black) and Anton (not sure of the name either, he's Russian) conducted a quick assessment of the property, left to their truck to gather items, and began to wrap up each and every item. Within 30 minutes or so Lester began to complain on how hot it was and seemed rude about it, as if it were my fault. He was also very rude and demeaning to Anton and yelled at him multiple times. I offered cold bottled water to both of them and tried to remain positive on the situation. He continued to complain throughout the entire move. Around 2hrs into the move (still at my 686sqf condo) they weren't even close to being done and seemed to take a very long time outside to the point where I began to walk back and forth with them just to see what they were spending so much time on. Yes, I do understand everyone needs a break now and then but, the entire process was painfully slow to the point where I began to help them! I asked if they had to wrap everything up and Lester said they did unless I decided not to and assume the consequences. I agreed to leave the couch, bed frame, and bookcase unwrapped because they're old and have been through several moves. I think Lester caught on because he did not hide his feelings of irritation and possibly anger. When it came time to move the couch, they realized it didn't fit through he doorway with the feet on so they began to remove them. That took well over 20 minutes because Lester's small screwdriver got stuck and he proceeded to violently tap it against the counter. When he finally removed the tool, he and Anton began to move the couch again. Lester was so frustrated and aggressive with the couch that he even knocked down a big key holder which was screwed into the wall! He spent some time fixing that as well. When the packing was finally completed, I gave them the address of the storage facility and drove ahead of them to open up the unit and began placing items in the elevator for them. They took a while to get there and then slowly packed the rest of my bins and boxes in the truck. Once we arrived at my new address, I politely asked if they could speed up the process and they said they would try. They both began just dumping items everywhere and would sometimes literally throw my items! I also attached pictures of my mattress which was only covered on the bottom but yet the spring box was entirely wrapped with saran wrap. Yes, I stated it was ok to leave a few items without wrapping but, I was referring to my old couch, the metal bed frame, and the cheap IKEA bookcase, not the mattress which I sleep on! I was so disappointed at the situation that I really just wanted them to be finished so that I would never have to deal with them again. Unfortunately, there was more to come. The couch had to be moved through the stairs and guess who complained the entire time there too? Yes, Lester. I felt really bad for poor Anton even though he was moving slowly but this guy was never rude to Lester or me. When it was finally done and over with, I ended up withdrawing $300 from the ATM and handing it over to them. I believe the only reason why I didn't pay as much as other dissapointed reviewers is because I helped move a few items (which defeats the purpose of hiring someone to do that for me) and stayed on top of them through the entire process. read more
