He was funny, attentive, and every recommendation he gave us was spot on. The carpaccio appetizer was amazing -- presented traditionally and then mixed tableside into perfectly balanced bite-sized pieces. It was both beautiful and delicious. Both of our filets were cooked perfectly, and dessert was a highlight. The warm peanut jelly & butter cake is a must-order. Truly one of the best meals and service experiences we've had. It wasn't until I did the math in the car that I realized just how off it really was -- that's almost 29.5%, not 20%. This left me with a really yucky feeling. The only negative is because the floors are wood, and not carpet, the acoustics are quite "echoey". Plus we arrived at the height of the Sunday brunch crowd. Therefore, this made it a challenge for our 93 year old friend with hearing aids to understand the conversation. The restaurant is a big hall with no booths. The chairs are comfortable. Our server Josh was great to make recommendations. Food was delivered hot. After eating I wandered out to a large outdoor patio. On Saturday nights there is often live music. The ladies bathroom is equipped with gorgeous duo copper sinks. The toilet booths are nostalgic "old school wooden", reminiscent of the church basement of my childhood. I have a very restricted diet due to allergens and almost never eat out because of it but our servers, Tony and Josiah, completely changed that for me. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was safe, thoughtful, and still absolutely delicious. That level of care and attention meant more than I can put into words. The steak was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had. And the olive oil... I genuinely wanted to buy a bottle and take it home it was THAT good. Tony and Josiah didn't just provide great service they made the entire night feel easy, special, and memorable for everyone at the table. We felt genuinely taken care of from start to finish. It was excellent, with the pasta cooked al dente and a nice, flavorful bolognese sauce; the portion was just right. My wife wasn't terribly hungry so she had a salad as an entree and really enjoyed it. She also tried the espresso martini and it was good though not memorable. Many of the menu prices were closer to what you'd find in a larger city but so was the quality of the food and experience. My friends had the ribeye and said it was mediocre. I had the shrimp biscuit and only ate a few bites. The BBQ sauce was heavily salted and not pleasant, and the cheddar cheese just seemed like it didn't belong. As a cheese lover, this is the first time in over 60 decades that I've actually removed the cheese from a dish. I took the leftovers with me since I hate wasting food and ate the biscuit with some butter and the shrimp by themselves the next day. It still wasn't very good, but at least I didn't waste it. On the plus side, the cinnamon rolls were absolute delicious and were a bargain at $8 for six! They were the highlight of our meal. We also enjoyed the creme brûlée very much. Since the restaurant is pricey and so many of the dishes were a disappointment, we all agreed that we probably won't return to give it another try. We don't want to risk spending that much money again on a not-so-great meal.
