Wow! I am really sad we don't have this in our hometown! We were driving through on our way home from vacation and stopped in Kerrville for the night. We saw Culvers and decided to give it a whirl. The first thing that is impressive was the store seemed extremely clean and brand new. To our surprise, it was 15 years old. Our kids ordered the corn dog with crinkly fries and a kids butterburger with cheese...all with usually fairly small appetites devoured their food. My husband and I ordered the mushroom Swiss butterburger meal and the cheese curds. Wow! The mushrooms were perfectly sautéed tasting and the burger was juicy and completely delicious. The crinkle fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cheese curds were wonderful. They were crunchy perfection with melted Wisconsin cheese inside. This was THE BEST burger-type fast food we've ever eaten. We also had their frozen custard. The kids meals came with a coupon for a free scoop, and the hubby and I got the vanilla custard with hot fudge mixed in. I also added Heath bar to mine. It was extremely creamy. Sadly, I will crave this place every time I feel like a splurge but can't have it because it is hours from our house! Last, as we read on the bags the food came in, this company is American based in Wisconsin. The beef is US beef, the cheese is of course, from Wisconsin. Cheese curds rule that's all I'm gonna say. This place started in Wisconsin from what I understand. I have no idea why there's one in Kerrville of all places. Kerrville is a tiny ass town in the Hill Country of Southern Texas. The custard is fairly decent, but come for the fried cheese curds. The butterburgers are pretty good, I got the mushroom swiss burger. It's in the parking lot of Wal Mart, so you can go get your huge corporate conglomerate shopping on after you eat. If you're ever in this part of Texas for whatever reason I suggest a quick stop in. It didn't disappoint me. read more

Culver's is a fast food Wisconsin themed restaurant which is sort of like a Dairy Queen. I quite like their Wisconsin cheese bites which are mini balls of fried cheese that essentially melt in your mouth when you bite them. I have visited this location many times and I usually receive great service. Tonight, however, that was not the case. The young woman that was at the window rudely gave us our total and held her hand out for our card. She handed us two drink cups and when I tried to explain to her that I asked for a water, she got extremely defensive and explained that she had put my water in a cup. I usually never receive water in a cup, being that this location has always given out water bottles. I gave it a chance as we pulled forward and it tasted like straight sink water. My husband took it inside and the girl then approached him at the counter, swung her head seat to the side in frustration, and gave him an attitude when he asked if they had bottles. She didn't say two words to him and handed him the bottle, still obviously frustrated. I do not know what caused her to treat us with such disrespect, but she does not look a day over 16. This is no way to handle your first job, and prayerfully the staff will see this and do something. read more

Culver's serves consistently good fare in a bright and cheerful atmosphere. Adjacent to WalMart, it has easy access, plus a drive through. A sign inside indicates it won the "best fast food in Kerrville" award last year. Their Butterburgers are excellent (try the one with bleu cheese!), their fries are crisp and good, and the menu has a lot of choices (soup in bread bowls, reubens, etc.). Worth the stop! Not open for breakfast. For fast food at good prices, this is it. read more

I'm originally from Wisconsin like Culvers and this place is good custard. I think it'd the only "actual" custard place in Kerrville (custard is different than ice cream and frozen yogurt). Prices are decent though I've never eaten food, just dessert here before. The service is fast and overall it's a good experience. I'd recommend it. read more
