I wish there was a Salt Lake location. I get the kko kko bop and I love how the restaurant location offers veggies other than lettuce! I'm so disappointed! The last 3-4 times I've been here it's been a disaster!! And this never used to happen, and I went all the time. Once I had gross crunchy rice, this time it was cold, wrong spice level, no mandoo (even though I paid for it) and no extra sauce like I requested. Bad customer service, too. I've only tried the food truck so my review is based on that. First time I saw this place on food truck Thu at the Gallivan Ctr I was so pumped since Korean food is probably my favorite Asian food and having Korean friends growing up I've had plenty of Korean food. anyway so as I got closer to the truck, I noticed this line was the longest of all the trucks and then I noticed there were no Asians in line so that was a red flag, then I looked at the menu and I never saw Korean food like that before. sorry ppl but I'm sure you guys are tired of hearing it in my reviews but i'm just as tired of saying it but another Americanized ethnic place. I took a picture of it and sent to my Korean friends back in SoCal and they said, "what do you expect from UT". I had the chicken something and it wasn't horrible but if you had the chicken without all the sauce they drown it in, the chicken didn't have any flavor. the rice is far from Korean style. apparently, Korean BBQ in UT means something completely different than in CA and OR. read more

Worst experience ever, wasted 22 dollars. It was my first time ever trying Cupbop and I informed the employee I was new and they spent there tine screaming new customer and I was rushed through the line instead of a quick explanation of how they work. They do not have a menu that explains what you get with your bowls and I ended up with 2 bowls one with just rice, lettuce and noodles and the other with bulgogi, rice, lettuce and noodles. No garnishing other than hot sauce. Apparently you have to order a complete or combo bowl to get any veggies. Luckily, I ordered a double side of potstickers. Won't be going back. read more

If you're looking for good authentic Korean food, then look elsewhere. Good, fun concept, whenever I go, I am hopeful that the food will taste better, but it never does. Probably equivalent to Panda Express' version of Chinese food, which is great for some. read more

Stopped in on a busy evening so expectations weren't really high. The service I received was surprisingly pleasant. Everyone was cheerful and outgoing despite being swamped. My only complaint about this place is that I'm not able to leave more than 5 stars. The food is amazing! The noodles are perfectly cooked, the cabbage is fresh and the sauce is something I wish I could shower in. The staff was THE nicest group of people I have ever had the privilege of meeting. I had a sudden hankering to try Cupbop as I'd seen the truck around town (even though I'd never tried it before). I discovered there was a store not too far from me so my sister and I hit the drive thru in the evening, just after 9pm. There was a short line-up of cars but it didn't look like it'd take long. We could hear everything going on inside the restaurant as it seems the microphone was left on while we were waiting to order, but nobody addressed us. An employee literally ran outside to take our order, saying it would speed up service. He came back a couple of minutes later with a complimentary order of Mandoo to "hold us over." They were delicious and we were glad we had ordered some more! A few minutes and several apologies later, we had our food with our Mandoo compensated "due to the wait." We commented to each other that we had waited much longer at other drive thru restaurants without so much as an acknowledgment of our wait. The Cupbop employees were all very friendly and customer service oriented. After all that, we really enjoyed our food and I will definitely be back again soon! read more

Wanted to try this based upon reviews and my love for Korean bbq. Unfortunately my meal was not very good. I ordered the beef bowl / mild spiciness. It was room temperature - cold and it was not very pleasant to the pallet. The flavors were decent and potstickers were well prepared but overall, this meal was a disappointment. read more

I am a huge fan of the food truck so when they opened their store in Draper I was thrilled! I went through the drive through tonight totally craving their #6, the noodle bop. I pulled up and the person who was taking my order started talking in a weird twangy voice. Irritating but still ok. I ordered my noodle bop, NO LETTUCE because warm lettuce is unappetizing to me and two orders on Mandoo. I also said I wanted #2 spice, but didn't get finished with my statement because my friend on the other end interrupted me and said " okay, you want 2 #6's, and Mandoo. No, I said and I repeated my order and again was interrupted. Finally I said "just shut up and listen to me!" I FINALLY got my order in. Got home, pulled my #6 out of the bag and guess what...... not only was there lettuce, there was enough to make a delightful side salad if your inclined to favor warm wilted produce. Oh, and there was so much sauce on there my noodles and rice were swimming! Seriously what the crap!!! There was no one in line and I could see that they weren't busy in the store. Maybe if they paid attention to their customers and stopped screwing around things would be prepared correctly. Threw this in the trash, having boxed mac and cheese instead. read more

Well, after hearing all the hype, I was eager to sample this place. I'm underwhelmed. The service was sloppy, the chicken had the consistency of canned chicken and tasted just about as bland. The noodles and rice were good, but the lettuce was limp and soggy. I'll usually give a place a second chance, but I sampled my wife's beef choice of cup bop and it was just as disappointing. My husband and I just tried this for the first time, we both got the combo. I got a 5 in the sauce and he got a 7. The sauce was good, everything was pretty good but my husband's hardly had any meat in his compared to mine and I honestly don't understand the hype. I went to the Draper location yesterday for about the 3rd time ordered the combo with beef and chicken no lettuce ! The little bit of meat that they did give me was extremely tough & old and there was only a couple pieces & they still put that old brown lettuce in my bowl even though I said no lettuce smh ! I just feel like if I'm going to pay $8.00 or more then it should definitely be worth every penny and I shouldn't get cheated. I'll be sticking to the food truck instead. read more

Words cannot describe how much I love this place. I used to stalk the truck everywhere it went and then they opened the draper location!! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is/was amazing! I love when the employees shout my order back and forth. It would seem that they truly enjoy working there and it really helps me feel welcomed. I happened to visit the store again today though and was informed that they can no longer shout or not as often as some have complained about the noise level?!?! WHAT! I go there for the noise level! And of course the amazing food. It was like walking into an arena and you could feel the tension and excitement. It's sad when good things get ruined because of a few disgruntled customers. If you want quiet dining... go somewhere else please or eat outside. I know I probably cannot change the tide and reverse fate, so I promise this... every time I visit your restaurant I will scream and shout my order out of udder joy and bliss for the delicious food I am about to partake it! I went through Cupbop's drive through this evening about 20 minutes before closing to get a Noodle Bop. The guy at the window named King Kko Kko was so friendly even with it being so late, so I gave a 15% tip. He then asked if I eat meat (because I had ordered a meat-free dish) to which I answered unfortunately I do not, but my husband does. He told me to wait a second then brought over some mandou (potstickers) and told me to give them to my husband. It was so kind of him and I offered to pay for them but he insisted that I just take them. He then told me to pick between a variety of flavors (pineapple, coconut, mango, strawberry, etc) and got me a yogurt drink as well because he felt bad that I wouldn't be able to eat the potstickers. I told him that he is too kind and really doesn't have to offer me all these things and I would be more than happy to pay for them, but he insisted that the owners had told him that when customers tip, they tip back because it is the Korean way. In the end, I ended up paying $9 for $17 worth of food and was treated so kindly. Very impressed with the employees and how the owners run their business. I really hate giving low reviews but I live right next to this place and I like options so I really want them to improve a few things because I see the potential. Let me first say I liked the look/vibe overall culture and enthusiasm! Seems like a business that cares and will succeed that is why I am writing this review. Since I eat out every meal twice a day I don't like poor food, I feel this is the weakness of this place. I ordered the chicken bowl with the noodles and only had a few bites before I was disappointed and decided to throw it out. I'm sorry but I just don't like pink chicken that doesn't taste like chicken. If this place had high quality white meat (purchased hopefully locally) and grilled it with some seasoning and filled half the bowl with it (similar to Costa vida, cafe rio) this place could be very popular. I remember when cafe rio blew up in Utah (think early 2000's) I remember everybody raving about the HIGH Quality meat and ingredients and HUGE portions. That would make it worth spending $10. right now this place is a Taco Bell quality and should be max 5$ for a bowl. Sorry to management if this doesn't help business, if the quality changes I will delete this. I am routing for this company to improve! read more
