I love cupbop but I was super concerned when I went through the drive thru last night. The gentleman making my food did not have food handlers gloves on (eww) and he wiped under his nose a couple times WHILE preparing our food (WITH HIS BARE HANDS, mind you) and between making my bowl and my husbands bowl he picked up a few pieces of food that had fallen on the counter and put them in his mouth. Didn't wash his hands in between or anything. It was very disturbing and I'm not sure I will go back to this location if the employees don't start wearing gloves and washing their hands!!! read more

This place is good if you don't go through the drive thru. It seems that when you are face to face when they make your food, they do a great job. I just got 2 Bbops with extra meat and extra sauce. Got home and there was little sauce on them.. too far to drive all the way back over to do anything about it. Not the first time this has happened. I've noticed that there is no consistency with the food. Some days they get it right and more often, they disappoint. Either go in, or go to another location. read more

An interesting concept. If you love a big bowl of noodles then this is the place for you! Apparently this was a food truck before it was a store front, and it definitely has that portable from a truck feel. Pick your meat and a few other toppings and they will pile it on top of rice or rice noodles. I do loves me some rice noodles, but like with most places like this I usually find myself wanting more of the other stuff (meat and veggies) and less of the carb fillers. If I had any complaints it would be that we weren't asked if we wanted the sweet style sauce before they layered it on top. Because of this, the bowl went from savory to way sweet in a moment. That being said, all the staff were super friendly and helpful. We haven't made it back yet, but I would definitely be interested in giving it another try! read more

Really bad experience tonight at the Draper location drive thru. Waited 40 minutes in the drive thru line and would have left, except I was blocked in. Watched car after car leave. Who knew something so simple could taste so good. Rice, noodles, lettuce, meat, sauce so yummy. Have eaten from the food trucks several times, but this was my first time at the store. Typically I eat the chicken or beef, today I tried the pork. I think it was my favorite. Good flavor. I am a whimp when it comes to spicy food. I like some kick, but not too much. I ordered mine a four on the spicy level and that was about right for me. The combination of flavors was delightful. The service was quick and friendly. Long awaited cupbop static shop north of the point! What can I say? Number 7 sauce cannot be resisted, had to stop in and give it a try though I've been a little out of the loop from the trucks lately. It's cupbop, so honestly, you either love it or you hate it. Their recipes are fabulous and made with care and passion. The only thing that I think is lacking about their brand is the focus on employee happiness. The passionate people make the soul of cupbop the thing of joy that it is. They are the critical ingredient for this recipe of success. One major addition here versus truck menu is the shake bop, a bibimbap style veggie and rice variant which is more traditional. Also setting this new location apart - the drive thru, and a nice beverage machine (coca cola freestyle) like you find in many great establishments around these parts. Location is right by 123 freeway junction but they are in the back corner of the lot, with only one narrow path in and out from the lot's main entrance, making the parking and drive thru approach quite awkward. I can imagine the potential jam whenever a drive thru line accumulates. Finally thank you Shannon for being an awesome chef and front manager. You rock! read more

This place is kinda like the Chipotle of Korean BBQ but they definitely do not hit the mark. Some of the sauces are good but the problem is that they weirdly mix them into a really weird concoction that does not taste great. I've ordered Cupbop twice. The first time was amazing and I was an instant fan! The second time...Not so much. Some of the noodles were hard and stuck together. It was over sauced with that mayonnaise sauce and the beef was tough..........Additionally there is something else that is really bugging me about this place. Both times I went through the drive true, the employee solicitated a tip. This is assembly line fast food in every sense of the word. I'm all for tipping for sit down service, a large complicated takeout order, or a restaurant delivery service where they use their own gas to drive it to my home. But a one item order at a fast food drive through...why? They didn't serve me. They hung a bag out the window. These people need to get a real delivery or server job. I'm not sure why this was my first Cupbop experience because I've had Kotako Truck (same owners) and am Korean, plus I have a major affinity for food trucks. I actually checked on Instagram to see if they'd be near my home and discovered they have a storefront that's pretty close, so I swung on by. I was super pleased they have a drive thru because I was feeling especially lazy, and I ordered the B Bop. The menu board is very clear and you know exactly what you're getting, and the service was friendly and fast. I asked about the spice level of the sauces, and I decided on 5 (scale from 1-10). Unfortunately, on my way home, I realized I didn't get my card back, called to confirm it was still there, and drove back. That was kind of an inconvenience, but they handled it really well. I decided to go inside to grab it, and I was greeted several times by different employees and told I'd be helped ASAP - I find that sort of service is seriously lacking in most teen/college student run businesses and was happy to be acknowledged. The young woman running the drive thru recognized me right away, grabbed my card, and even gave me a free order of their Mandoo (potstickers), which I thought was appropriate and a good sign of business. Cupbop is definitely aimed at a specific demographic, and it's the sort of place where they do a lot of enthusiastic yelling. When I was younger, I was all about that life, but as I get older, I feel less positively about it. But that's easy to avoid - I can just hit the drive thru instead and eat at home. Is the food super authentic? No, but I'm pretty positive they'd be the first to tell you that, and I'm quite sure that isn't their aim anyhow. The B Bop is bulgogi beef, rice, japchae (glass noodles), and lettuce. The portion size is great, the beef is tasty, the noodles are probably my favorite part, and to be honest, the iceberg works pretty well (traditional in restaurant bulgogi is served with lettuce to eat like a wrap). Spice level 5 is great for me because I am kind of a wuss but still enjoy some heat, but I could probably eat level 6 and survive. The Mandoo is REALLY tasty - very crispy, not greasy at all, and great flavor. I don't think anything is bland or underseasoned. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is my second time coming to Cupbob. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean, and the food was good. I got the combo box beef and chicken with mandoo (pot stickers). I tried all the spice level sauces and settled on 5. It wasn't too spicy and the flavor was the best out of all of them. It was a little pricey for what I got. I would expect a little more meat for the price. To be completely honest the food looks better then it tasted. I may have set my bar too high based on the look of the food. This is the new trendy spot that all my friends love. It's a new startup restaurant and they have some kinks to work out. There was a huge bottleneck in the line at the sauce station / cash register ... we watched our food get cold for 10 agonizing minutes while we waited to pay. Solid 1st time visit to this brick and mortar location. I've seen massive lines at the balls games so I knew it was something I had to try. Food was great and I'll be back. I was impressed with what you get in the combo bowl, which had meat, a semi-translucent noodle (cellophane noodle?) rice and veggies. They also customize the spicyness, which seemed intentionally weak (a 6 was advertised as cholula level hot, a 7 Tabasco). I went with 7 and was not disappointed but will try at least an 8 next time. And I'm not one to really go after hot food, so 9-10 may be quite doable for most. The place is clean but small with a small seating area outside. The menu is small, which is not a detriment. Staff friendly. There is a lot of call and response between staff when ordering which didn't seem necessary and they really didn't seem that into it. But maybe I'm just old. If you've never tried Cupbop before, the giant lines at the food truck events are a strong indicator of it being a slice above the rest. My biggest complaint with Cupbop has always been the consistency of their food truck schedule. With this location in Draper, my biggest complaint is addressed! I'm a big fan of spicy food, so I usually go with a spice of 9-10, and it definitely has some kick to it! My wife, on the other hand, doesn't do to well with spice and so she usually goes with a 5 or 6. It's crazy how with the different levels you chose, the taste changes to a unique dish. So, while the food is great, what really makes this a must stop and a recommendation of mine are the amazing staff! They are always having fun and make it an enjoyable experience. The lady that was assisting us was so friendly and really made the experience a memorable one. Whether you are in the mood for spicy or not, Cupbop almost always hits the spot! Overall it was just alright. The place was actually kind of hard to see from the street. We drove past it and barely found it on the way back. When we got there the staff was really nice. We went here for lunch. A few issues for us personally was the shake bop was loaded up rice or noodle with skimpy veggies and meat. If you want any extra or added veggie its $1.00 per veggie including iceberg lettuce (which a whole head is less than than $1) and the serving is about a "tong pinch". I don't like going to restaurants where their food price is already on the high end then they skimp and nickel and dime you. I was expecting a tad more flavor it was pretty bland for Korean food.
