On my first trip to Maui, I was excited to try as many local food spots as possible, and Da Soriano…read moreGrindz ended up being one of the highlights of the entire trip. I was immediately intrigued by the calamansi pork -- an item I had never seen it on a menu before. One bite and I was hooked. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the bright, citrusy calamansi added a unique tang that made the dish completely unforgettable. It was so good that I'm still thinking about it after coming home. We also tried the pancit noodles, pork sisig, and mochiko chicken, and every dish was excellent. The pancit was packed with flavor, the sisig was gelatinous (fir those who are into it), and the mochiko chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and impossible to stop eating. For my first visit to Maui and my first time trying Da Soriano Grindz, this food truck set the bar incredibly high. If you're visiting Maui and want amazing Filipino food that's a little different from what you'll find elsewhere, don't skip this spot. The calamansi pork alone is worth the trip.

One of the owners, Sharon, took our order and she made us feel welcomed. The location had ample parking, located in an easily accessible food truck pod which was clean and inviting. Ambiance was low key and fun.

They've been part of the island's food scene for over 12 years now, and I still remember their off-the-beaten-path spot on Hobron Avenue in Kahului. You would have never guessed there was delicious food being served up there, but those who knew, knew. These days, you can find them in Kahului parked at Da Tambayan Corner on Lono Avenue, or sometimes popping up out at Ho'okipa. Now, full disclosure -- I don't eat raw fish, so I can't personally vouch for their poke bowls, but that's what they're known for and I've had a number of friends and family enjoy it. What I can vouch for, though, is their fried poke -- perfectly seasoned ahi cubes, floured and fried, served over rice and lettuce, and drizzled with a creamy mayo aioli. Get it hurricane style for extra sauce and furikake seasoning -- it's delicious and gives it an extra boost as once in a while it's on the drier side. Another favorite is the poke bake, which is just as satisfying and generously portioned. Started getting this recently and it hits the spot. Highly recommend either dish, especially if you're like me and prefer your fish cooked. And whatever you do, don't skip the furikake fries -- curly fries topped with aioli and furikake. SO good. Beyond the great food, my team has worked with Like Poke for company events, and they're always a hit. Friendly service and consistent quality eats that keep people coming back -- they're a favorite among locals for a reason.

The food truck lot has grown a lot recently, expanding into the adjacent lot with more space for trucks and more better parking (huge win). They have a cute little setup with a covered area for eating, plenty of tables, and even events happening from time to time. I think you can rent the space out too if you're planning your own event. Some of my favorite trucks here are Da Soriano Grindz for their calamansi pork belly plate (seriously hits every time), Aloha Pho Maui when I'm in the mood for Vietnamese, and Street Market Boba--because no visit is complete without a dessert and a good boba fix. I love that you can come with friends or family, and everyone can find something totally different to enjoy. From Filipino to Vietnamese to Mexican and more, the variety makes it an easy pick. Whether you're just grabbing lunch or hanging out for a bit, Da Tambayan is definitely worth checking out.

I had a little time for a quick snack so grabbed a taco from Linda's taco truck and it was very satisfying. The place was decked out for Halloween. I like that there's a large seating area with clean picnic tables under a shade cloth. Lots of parking, so no reason not to stop in here. There's a good variety of food trucks to please every appetite.

Saw the 5 stars and I was in the area and had try it…read more.. I pulled up to a lot with a lot of parking. The area was a little empty so slightly worried about my food choices... Walked up to the truck and saw a standard bbq menu. Noticed everything that you add brisket to was an additional $8 per order. Kinda pricey, but Hawai'i. Ordered a 1 choice with a side and added on a homemade sausage link. Selected the homemade Mac and cheese as a side as that's classic and waited a bit for my food... I don't remember the actual cost but it was around $30 for my plate after everything was said and done... Got my food and found a table. Opened it up and was immediately underwhelmed. The brisket looked dry and was from the day before. The sausage looked mid. The Mac and cheese looked extremely loose. All the items had the slightest smoke... Now these are all preference things and this food wasn't for me. Overall not my type of place to the price. Won't go too far into detail but give it a try if you like bbq'ish...
