Watch your food while it is being made, ESPECIALLY if you're vegetarian/vegan. i ordered a burrito with tofu and as the woman was scooping up the tofu some of it fell into the bowl with the steak in it. she then scooped up the tofu from the steak bowl and PUT IT BACK into the tofu bowl. makes me wonder if my tofu in my burrito had been cross contaminated at some point. just keep an eye out read more

Currito is one of many burrito establishments one can find today, but is one that stands out the most to me. Currito offers a variety of very tasty burritos, salads, shakes, and more. I have never been disappointed. When you enter the restaurant, you immediately feel a warm and cozy feeling, as it is a smaller place. The lines can be long, but if you've ever been to a Chipotle, these will not compare at all. The people are very friendly and nice. The burritos are full on flavor, and have quite a nice size to them. The food is always fresh, and well seasoned without offending the senses. My favorite is and always will be the Summer Burrito, and it's perfect because of the irresistible mango salsa that completes the package. The Mediterranean Burrito is a close second, combining all the wonderful flavors of the Mediterranean all wrapped up in a delicious tortilla. Meat options are typical, with chicken, beef, and pork, but also offer tofu for Vegans/Vegetarians. For having tofu on the menu, it scared me to try it, as I am a devoted chicken lover and previous experiences with tofu have turned me away from it. Let me say that the tofu has the perfect flavor and texture. You will have to pay extra for guacamole (as you will other places), but go for it, you're worth it. It's extremely tasty, and always is the perfect way to top off goodness. I have my summer burrito with hot sauce, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese, and it's always fantastic. Also, get your burrito toasted at the end of the line. It adds a very nice crisp to the burrito, and holds everything together better. If you are still feeling hungry, belly up for one of their many delicious shakes. The one I love is the Nutella shake. Nutella is a hazelnut spread with the consistency of penut butter, and is probably the best damn thing to ever come from Europe. Their shakes have amazing consistency, thickness, and flavor. Also, if you go to their website and sign up for their mailing list, they send you coupons, some of them for burritos for as low as a dollar! ZOMG! I've tried this place out twice, living nearby and occasionally being intrigued at the idea of a tikka masala burrito, I thought it was worth a shot. Both times I was definitely satisfied with my meal, but never blown away. Everyone is familiar with the quick-service counter ordering format, so I won't go into needless details about that. Instead I'm just going to talk about the options that they have - i love the fact that they have a TON of different stuff to be added to salads or burritoes. It's really not so much a burrito place as it is just a total fusion of all kinds of different cuisines. Mediterranean, Indian, Mexican, it's all there. That's the good part - they have flavors and offerings from so many different places that there's really no way to be bored with your meal. The bad part? The flavors are all... pretty good. But nothing is GREAT, nothing will really blow you away. You'll never be unhappy you chose to go to Currito, but you won't ever get an amazing meal. And with all of the ethnic options in the neighborhood (including both the best Indian and Mediterranean in the city all within walking distance from this store), you would be much better off going somewhere else, unless you're 1. There are things that I miss being able to walk to now that I don't live in Clifton. Currito is one of those places. Now, if I want one of their classic burritos with chicken, I have to drive and finding a parking space on Calhoun, which is not the easiest thing. I like that they have sizes, unlike Chipotle, and the smaller size is perfect for me. Unlike other burrito places, it doesn't get so loud you can't hear other people and the service is always really fast. There is a lot of variety for burritos, more than just your conventional, but I like what I like and always get the same thing! I had many a "currito" during my law school years, but nothing about it makes me care to make the drive back to Clifton to eat there. There are creative burrito options, some very tasty (cajun), and some, not so much (once had the buffalo chicken... ugh), and size options for the burritos. My favorite part was actually the combination of the burrito and a smoothie, and I really liked the fact that I could get a soy smoothie. Another nice option is getting the "snack" wraps if you want something small or don't feel like spending money on both a regular burrito and smoothie, but beware, the snack is literally a tortilla and whatever it says is in it, and it really is snack sized! Not a meal! Great option to have on campus, but not sure if it's worth a special trip. Maybe if you happen to be in the neighborhood. read more

I love Chipotle and not many burrito places come close to the taste, but currito comes awfully close. Currito has a variety of non-traditional burrito options that sets it apart. I personally always go with the summer burrito with the mango salsa. I am one of those that finds one option they like and sticks with it. I saw recently they started making a tikka burrito though. They also have a bangkok, buffalo and Mediterranean burrito. So they really are a burrito without borders restaurant. If you are tired of the traditional burrito options, I would give currito a try for some variety. read more

For being in an area with a ton of restaurant turnover, this Currito has held its own and always been solid. The food is on par if not a little better than any other Currito, but the service is where they go above and beyond. The staff is prompt and courteous, and above all, they get your order correct, right away. My go-to is the teriyaki with chicken but the buffalo chicken and many others are great too. I met my boyfriend for lunch earlier in the week at Currito. We had never been but his co-workers assured him it was good so we stopped in to check it out. Currito is after Chipotle's heart, you walk up to the counter to order, but they had pre-established burrito selections that diners can choose from as well as the "build your own" option. You choose chicken, steak, or tofu to start. We both chose chicken. I was disappointed that the chicken appeared to be more dark meat than white. From there, you can choose either a set menu item like "Cajun," "Teryaki," "Buffalo," etc or build your own burrito, Chipotle style. We both went with the Cajun offering, which featured black beans, rice, cajun spices, and sauce. It wasn't particularly spicy but the burrito still had decent flavor. Currito is slightly more expensive than Chipotle, but within 50 cents of the other chain. Almost forgot, Currito has huge delicious chocolate chip cookies...if you go, get one! read more

There is a lot of debate among my friends on which is better: Chipotle or Currito? I'm a huge Chipotle fan myself, but if you looking for a non-Mexican burrito, Currito is your place. They have a variety of burritos. I also appreciate the fact that they offer and small size and a large size. While I think the small size is overpriced, it is a nice option if you can't save your leftovers, but don't want to be wasteful. I have had 2 types of burritos there. 1) Teriyaki: I have had this with both chicken and steak. It's a great burrito; however, I quickly wore myself out on it. It comes in a wheat tortilla with rice, broccoli, carrots, onions, choice of meat/tofu and teriyaki sauce. 2) Summer: This one comes with rice, beans, mango salsa, choice of meat, and maybe something else. I don't like beans, so I held them and got chicken and it was still pretty decent. The mango salsa was good. I give Currito 4 stars for variety, but if you're looking for a Mexican burrito, go to Chipotle. read more

This is basically chipotle. The only difference is the adding of an ingredient of two and switching out one to make it Bangkok or Teriyaki so it would become "Asian". They need some spicy beyond salsa to make it more original. I had the Mediterranean burrito bowl. It was ok nothing special. The only good thing there is their Nutella milkshake. read more

I ordered a burrito from this place via order up. I asked for no onions. I got my burrito and it had onions in it. I call the restaurant and the man was extremely rude to me. He argued me down and made comparisons to ordering McDonalds food. I just could not believe how rude he was. I didn't eat the burrito of course because it had onions on it. Currito is not your typical burrito shop. To say they think outside the box is an understatement. They have thai burritos, cajun burritos, and even greek burritos to name a few. If you're ever in the mood for a different flavor, Currito is the place to go. I feel they are slightly more expensive than Chipotle, but the variety makes up for it. I used to be a big fan of the smoothies, but I last time I went in, my smoothie was still chunky! I can't say I'm a fan and don't think I'll ever go there for a smoothie again. This is the best burrito place around. I've been to other chipotle knock offs like Q'doba, but this one stands out among the others. The added variety of chick peas, different rices, more toppings, and a ton of great sauces really make Currito what it is. Finally, they wrap burritos better than chipotle. I've reviewed another location in Kenwood so I'll keep this short. Currito offers everything that Chipotle does, only with more variety. I guess for now they have no grainy-consistency queso or the chorizo that's about to expire for lack of interest, but to start they offer quinoa along with plain rice, lentils and curried chick peas for bean options, and they offer hummus as a topping. That's a huge increase in options compared to the venerable Chiptole, plus they offer the same tomato and corn salsa, the same hot and mild salsa plus sour cream and cheese, plus asiago (i think) cheese, and half a dozen or more sauces including thai peanut, buffalo, teriyaki, spicy cashew, and several others, plus shredded carrots, kale, a host of other options as they also offer salads. And to top that off they offer smoothies with such offerings as protein boosts so it's definitely worth walking almost a mile longer to get here. read more

Currito is a solid burrito joint, comparable to but notably different from Chipotle. It's a little pricier but there are a ton more options. In general I prefer Chipotle simply because it's easier to get a delicious burrito there. At currito, the options are there, but if you go with one of the premade ones they give you less stuff in there, and if you build your own it's slightly harder to make it come out just right. The food here is great. I love all of the options and the ingredients are pretty fresh. Unfortunately the service at this location is terrible. The cashiers are generally unfriendly and do not take care to make sure that your order is correct. The people preparing the food usually can't remember what goes in the burritos on the menu so I end up with surprise ingredients. Every time I go in, something is wrong with my order. I suggest that you watch them carefully as they make your order so that you do not end up disappointed when you take your first bite. read more
