I love Indian food and have had Indian food as far a Thailand, New York, and Spain. I was highly disappointed in the flavor and quality of Curry Lounge. The food was overly salty. The mint chutney is usually my favorite condiment but it was so salty that I couldn't even eat it. The only dish that I enjoyed was the plain rice. I really was looking forward to the food but the sodium content was so high that my feet swelled up. There are many other Indian restaurants in the area that I will be giving a try. read more

So we came across this gem "Curry Lounge " you walk into the restaurant walking on a red rug blocked off to make you feel as you are walking the red carpet. We were seated immediately, so we must have come at a great time. But, the lady that seated us was extremely friendly, made us feel welcomed and accommodated us well. Her said to call her Sandy since her name was a little hard to say. We order a lot of food was extremely tasty. The flavors. Wow, those flavors!!!! Super solid but not going to hit top marks on the Flask scale. Had two dishes takeout - Chili Paneer and Madras Chicken Curry. Paneer was cooked excellent (frequently overlooked and very underappreciated) and the flavor profile with the chili was great. Decent portion size not the biggest def not the smallest very legit. Chicken was slightly overcooked but enough to dry out the dish (should never be overlooked and most appreciated). The Madras wasn't packing a lot of flavor and couldn't make up for the overcooked chicken. Big portion of rice, and really good Naan (also something often overlooked and underappreciated). Naan was fluffy and yummy. Probably a true 4.5 but closer to a 4 than 5. Would try again! read more

Such high hopes for this place that had such good reviews on Yelp. We went about 2:30p on a Saturday afternoon in little India in Cerritos. Still fairly busy but our group of six were seated promptly. We ordered and waited for more than 40 minutes for our food to arrive. And when it arrived it just got plopped down at our table as it was ready. The garlic naan for example came almost at the end of our meal. We tried the butter chicken which was pretty good, the lamb vindaloo, and the shrimp tandoori among others. The shrimp tandoori was hugely disappointing! $24 for 8 scrawny shrimps about the size of my thumb! See pic. Service was bare minimum. This is a new hidden gem in Artesia. Amazing variety of options for both vegetarian and non vegetarians. Tried their samosa chaat and the samosa was still nice and crispy in the chaat. The green chutney was amazing in it too. For maincourse tried their paneer tikka, paneer paratha, amritsari kulcha and mango lassi they were all out of the park. This a small place that offers a good selection of Indian cuisine at very reasonable prices. The set dishes come with all the sides and garnish so it's not just a simple plate of curry, and as it's not very big they do not have a lunchtime buffet. Taste is also very good and you can order to your particular spice level. Service and ambiance are also top notch. Only down side is that the is no parking. Both dishes were medium spicy and both were fantastic, spice level was perfect. Lots of delicious sides came with the bread and healthy portion of curry and rice. We had leftovers. They answered all of our questions, and kept checking on us to see how we enjoyed the food, which was incredible! We ended up ordering the nimbu pani, the mix tandoori special, the karahi goat, garlic naan, schezwan fried chicken rice, and goat biriyani. The nimbu pani was refreshing. Everything was delicious and flavorful, and perfectly spicy, and the biriyani is some of the best I've ever had! Artesia has many delicious Indian restaurants to eat at, but this is my new go-to. Came in today around 4pm was not busy at all sat right down and order mango Lassi. It was delicious yogurt based sweet mango served chilled in a cooper cup. I order the lunch special goat curry in traditional season sauce paired with Rice and garlic Nan bread . Its was also delicious and flavorful great presentation. Came here for Mother's Day and would assume that the food would be good but not as amazing because there's too many people coming in. WRONG. It was still delicious late into the evening! Everything had so much flavor and I even somehow convinced my kid who eats minimal vegetables to try the Gobi Pakora and Samosa. Shockingly she liked them both! And she's a picky kid. The appetizers are pretty cheap and the food in general was pretty affordable. ~$100 and got 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 4 drinks, a variety of breads and rice. We had so much food, we brought some home. Sooooo happy for tomorrow's left overs. The only draw backs were, the tap water served is disgusting. And I wished they offered mint chutney. I forgot that was one of my favorite things and I didn't remember about it until I basically finished my food and got full. I'm sure they serve it here, I just forgot to ask and they didn't inquire if I would be interested in it. But everyone is super friendly and even the owner came out to check on us.
